The Bet


“That’s not the Naruto I know,” Sasuke replied to Kakashi’s questioning look. He was pissed off for speaking highly of Naruto when Naruto couldn’t even think highly of himself!!! Kakashi frowned. It was true that Naruto had said weird things. He would usually rant about Sasuke being an idiot and that he would beat Sasuke in a fight. The Naruto in there was not the usual Naruto, it was a broken one.

“I wonder if he was tortured so much by the enemy that he eventually broke. That would explain why Naruto is acting the way he is,” Kakashi said in deep thought. Sasuke kicked the wall and left a dent.

“I did not come back to have my team mates break on me! I will make him come back, if I have to drag him! I’ll even take care of him and make sure he becomes well again!” Sasuke yelled. It had been a few months ago when Sasuke came back from Orochimaru. Tsunade covered Sasuke’s betrayal by saying she sent him on a mission to spy on Orochimaru. Surprisingly, almost everyone believed the story, except a few people, but they wouldn’t speak out against Sasuke, so everything was fine. Eventually, Sasuke joined Team Kakashi. He did a test proving his abilities, so he was promoted. So the former team seven were all Jounins now.

“That would be an excellent idea, Uchiha. You should watch him for a while,” Tsunade said, closing the door behind her. It had only been a few minutes that the two Jounin’s left the room. They looked at her, waiting for an explanation for Naruto’s behaviour. Hokage blew out a big sigh.

“I have seen something like this before, but not to this extreme. It seems that the enemy had injected him with a chemical that I nicknamed ‘becoming truth’. No one knows where it originated from. The person will alter into a completely different personality that is unrecognizable, as you see with Naruto. You’re probably wondering why I named it ‘becoming truth’ though. The personality that emerges is who the person affected truly feels. It’s like the drug breaks the person’s walls within their mind. The person sitting in that room is the person Naruto truly is. You may not like it, but you have to deal with it!” Tsunade explained. Sasuke and Kakashi stood there in deep thought. Was Naruto truly like this? They didn’t want to believe it, but they couldn’t really say they fully knew Naruto. Well, since Naruto has the Kyuubi in him, it would make sense. But they didn’t want to have Naruto like that.

“That’s the first of it anyway,” Tsunade frowned. Sasuke and Kakashi looked at her with curiosity. “It seems that’s what the drugs originally did at first. They found a way to alter the drug to do another thing that I haven’t anticipated...”

“Tell us, Tsunade,” Sasuke pushed. He needed to know what was going on with his team mate.

“He... absorbs chakras.” Tsunade hesitated. She couldn’t explain it herself. It was something she never saw in her lifetime. That was the only explanation she could give.

“So does that mean he is a danger to the village?” Kakashi questioned. That thought wouldn’t be good, especially how the village already treated Naruto. Having Naruto put under the name of danger would just rile everybody up.

“No! I did not mean it like that. It seems he absorbs it unintentionally and becomes the person himself. Not completely, but he has the same attitude.” Tsunade finished. The other two did not get it. They were confused with what the Hokage was trying to say.

“I don’t get it. What do you mean he becomes the person?” Sasuke’s eyebrow rose. Tsunade thought for a few moments. How could she put this so that it was understandable?

“Well, chakra vibrates in a certain way, according to people’s personalities. It’s different in each of us. What’s happening to Naruto is that the chakra absorbed starts to vibrate with his and changes his personality, similar to the one he absorbed from. Come here and look for yourself!” Tsunade waved them to come closer. The two shinobi’s walked over to the room and went inside to see Naruto. Sasuke hoped Naruto wasn’t his self pity self anymore.

It seemed that Naruto was asleep, snoring loudly. The vein on Tsunade’s forehead twitched as she walked up to the bedside. She took a deep breath.

“Naruto wake up this instant! Who the hell do you think you are?!?” Tsunade yelled. Naruto slowly woke up and looked around. He noticed Tsunade and frowned.

“What took you so long to get back, Tsunade! I told you to debrief them in a few minutes! You should have been back in this room long ago so we can figure this out! This is an emergency,” Naruto barked out. Tsunade bared her teeth and a couple veins popped out.

“That is no way to talk to the Hokage, Naruto!” She yelled.

“And that is no way to talk to future Hokage, Tsunade!” He yelled back. Both Sasuke and Kakashi were surprised at Naruto’s change in attitude.

“What did you do to him?” Kakashi asked, looking at Naruto with suspicion. This was completely different from earlier! She must have drugged him, why else would he be different? Naruto also had a different look in his eyes. They looked familiar...

She glared at Kakashi, “I didn’t do a damn thing! I was only checking up on him. He changed when-”

“She touched me. Now look what she did! So irresponsible!” Naruto said glaring at Tsunade. She glared back at him. Now Sasuke and Kakashi recognized those eyes.!

Naruto and Tsunade sighed and looked their way, “We need to figure this out instantly!” The other two didn’t know how to respond. It was like there were two Hokage’s not one!

“Kakashi! Go find Sakura and bring her over to Sasuke’s instantly! We need to see if she can find anything new about my condition! Tsunade is not doing her job right now!” Naruto ordered Kakashi. The gray-haired man didn’t know how to respond. He looked at Tsunade, who glared at Naruto, then nodded to Kakashi. He was gone in a second.

“And Sasuke, you will take Naruto over to the Uchiha household. You will then watch over Naruto and report to me if anything changes! I will be doing some research to see if I can find anything about his condition,” Tsunade ordered Sasuke. He nodded and walked over to Naruto’s bedside. At least Naruto’s attitude was better. But it was a little disturbing to hear Tsunade’s tone come from his mouth.

“We should hurry, before anyone sees me. Questions should not be asked. And since I’m too weak right now, you should use a jutsu to get us there this instant,” Naruto said. Sasuke could only nod and was about to touch Naruto when he hesitated.

“How do I know he won’t be affected if I touch him?” He looked over to Tsunade. She didn’t know what to say.

“Since she never saw this before, there’s only one way to find out,” Naruto said. Tsunade nodded and Naruto grabbed Sasuke’s arm. All three of them waited; fortunately, nothing happened to either of them. They let out a sigh of relief. It would have been terrible to see a Tsunade meet Sasuke personality.

“Let’s go,” Naruto said. Sasuke wrapped his arms around Naruto and used his jutsu to bring them both to his house. They appeared into the living room and Sasuke quickly pulled himself away from Naruto.

“I will show you where you will be staying,” Sasuke got straight to the point, walking toward the exit of the room. Naruto snorted.

“I don’t care about that, where’s the alcohol?” Naruto asked. Sasuke stopped and looked at him with surprise, but remembered who he was dealing with. He wondered if he should let Naruto, but he realized that Naruto was still ill and he didn’t want to risk anything. Naruto glared at him.

“Well? Are you deaf? Bring me to the alcohol right now! It’s been a while since I last rested,” Naruto growled out. Sasuke stared Naruto down and responded.

“I won’t. It may risk your health and you need all the strength you need to get better!” Sasuke said. Naruto’s mouth opened. He was pissed off.

“Why you little brat! I’ll-” The doorbell rang interrupted Naruto. Sasuke was glad that Sakura was already here. He needed Naruto to be distracted from alcohol.

Before Sasuke walked out, he looked at Naruto, “Sit on the couch and be quiet!” There’s was a knock on the door now. He quickly walked out of the room to let Sakura inside.

“You will NOT tell me what to do!” Naruto yelled from the room. Sasuke sighed. He really didn’t want to deal with this, but it was a mission. Actually, it wasn’t a mission, he mistook himself. He had volunteered to take care of Naruto. But now he didn’t remember why he did that in the first place.

Sasuke reached the door and opened it with a scowl. It was Sakura as he suspected. She was standing there with a confused look on her face. It seemed Kakashi failed to update her on the new situation. Sasuke turned his head and his scowl deepend. Figured that Kakashi would be too lazy to let Sakura know what was going on.

“Kakashi told me to come here this instant. He didn’t really say anything!” Sakura flustered when she mentioned Kakashi’s name, “He only tried to-never mind! What’s wrong? Are you hurt Sasuke?!” Sakura said all worried now. Sasuke sighed and motioned her to come inside, so she stepped in quickly.

“Thank you for having me,” She said as she walked in. Sasuke was already up ahead, so she quickly took off her boots and ran up to him. She had a frown on her face as she was in deep thought.

“So if you’re not hurt, then why was I called-”

“WHERE THE HELL IS THE ALCOHOL, YOU BASTARD?!? AND IT BETTER BE SAKURA WITH YOU!!!” Naruto yelled loudly. Sakura’s eyes widened and looked up to Sasuke, with a big smile on her face.

“He’s alright then?” Sakura asked. Sasuke stopped outside the room with Naruto inside. He had an annoyed look on his face. Sakura’s smile faded. Sasuke didn’t look happy at all. What was going on? Wasn’t it Sasuke who wanted Naruto to wake up?

“There’s something wrong with him that we need you to check up on,” Sasuke said as he opened the door. Sakura walked inside the room, expecting anything to happen. She saw Naruto sitting on the couch, looking all normal. She didn’t know what to expect from him with the way Sasuke was acting.

“Ah, there you are Sakura! I was wondering when you would get here. Were you updated on the situation yet?” Naruto questioned her. Sakura knew that something was wrong right away. The blonde never spoke politely to anyone. Now she knew why Sasuke was uneasy about Naruto. Also, the way Naruto was sitting was different too. It felt familiar...

“No, Kakashi has failed to give me an update,” Sakura blushed. She felt silly for not knowing. The next time she saw Kakashi, it wasn’t going to be pretty.

“While you update her, I will go make you something to eat, dobe,” Sasuke smirked, walking out of the room once more. Naruto took a deep breath.

“You ungrateful brat! Wait till I get my hands on you!!!” Naruto yelled. Sakura stiffened. She knew this behaviour anywhere. It could be only one person who acted this way, but Sakura didn’t understand why Naruto was acting like this.

“Tsunade,” Sakura stated. That’s who she felt. Actually, it was who she was feeling! But how? That couldn’t be possible! Not that she knew of anyway.

“I was expecting that from you, Sakura. You already figured part of it out. Hokage wanted you to examine me to see if you could find anything other than the Hokage did,” Naruto began to explain to Sakura what had happened so far. She listened in to all the details. It was still odd, to hear her master’s voice coming from her noisy team mate, but she had used to it. Naruto began to inform her of all the details.

Sasuke came back to the room a few minutes later with ramen and Naruto ate in between explanations. When Sakura learned everything, she began her check up on Naruto.

Half hour later

“I’m done,” Sakura announced. Naruto pulled himself up in a sitting position. With the pen she had borrowed from Sasuke, she quickly took down some notes.

“Did you find anything new?” Naruto asked. Sasuke was leaning against the wall, with his eyes closed.

“I did find something that can help us figure out how long the chakra will be mixed with yours. It has a certain vibration and it is becoming slower at a very slow rate. My guess is, you will stay like that for about eleven more hours before the chakra stops vibrating with yours and leaves,” Sakura said smiling at her findings. Naruto listened intently. He leaned back against the couch and nodded.

“When it leaves, where will it go?” Naruto questioned.

“It will not go into anyone else, if that is what you are asking. The chakra will probably go back into the land,” Sakura explained. Naruto nodded as he listened.

“Good job. That will be helpful to know. You should report this to Tsunade right away, then go do research,” Naruto ordered Sakura. She frowned. Tsunade always did this with her, praise her and then get her to do more. At least she was used to it, but not from another person!

“I will escort you part of the way there,” Sasuke said, pushing against the wall, “I need to go buy some more groceries for two people.” Naruto gave a big smile.

“With more alcohol?” Sasuke and Sakura both shook their heads with a sigh.

“No, it wouldn’t be good for you, especially when you’re still not well, dobe,” Sasuke said. Naruto glared.

“I dare you to call me that again,” Naruto hissed out. Sakura’s eyes widened. She was feeling something coming from Naruto’s altered chakra; in fact, it was all going to his hand.

“I normally would, but I’m afraid I’ll overload your little pea brained mind,” Sasuke mocked. In a split second, Naruto was next to Sasuke with his fist aiming for the other’s face. Sasuke barely dodged the attack as Naruto’s fist came into contact with the wall instead. A huge explosion occurred at the contact. Sasuke and Sakura were shocked at what Naruto had accomplished. Dust filled the room and the stairs across the hall were crushed from the pieces of wall blasted.

“What just happened...?” Sasuke muttered. All three stood in front of the newly made hole in the wall.

“That strength came from Tsunade. It seems out of instinct... the chakra formed into Naruto’s hand... But it was not perfectly created! If Naruto knew how to control the chakra, the house would have been completely destroyed! To be able to do this much though,” Sakura murmured. Naruto turned around and smirked.

“You shouldn’t have insulted me then,” Naruto said, “I can probably fix it with my Kage Bunshin No Jutsu if you want, even if I don’t want to.”

Sasuke clenched his teeth and tightened his fist, “No... I’ll fix it later myself. You need to rest, and that won’t happen if you use up your energy. Just rest and stay still!” Sasuke growled out, “I’m going to go get the groceries now, I’ll be back later.” He stormed off.

Sakura looked at Naruto, “I’ll inform Tsunade of my new findings. I hope you get better soon! See you later, Naruto!” She took off after Sasuke. Naruto chuckled. Instead of following Sasuke’s advice, he went off to find the kitchen. He was thirsty as hell!

Few Hours Later

Sasuke walked into his house muttering to himself, “Stupid Lee wanting to spar. He only said a few minutes. Didn’t expect to fight for hours on! Why couldn’t Gaara spar him?! Now I have to start dinner right away! Naruto better have listened to me,” He walked into the kitchen and stopped in his tracks. The room was a huge mess! It was like it rained kitchen supplies in the room! Sasuke walked over to the fridge, kicking whatever was in his way. He threw everything into the fridge and took off to find the suspect who murdered his kitchen. His first aim was the living room.

Nobody was in the room. Sasuke hoped Naruto didn’t leave the house!

“Naruto!” Sasuke yelled. The only response was a muffled voice coming from upstairs. Sasuke jumped over the broken steps and climbed the stairs. He reached the top of the stairs, yelling for the blonde once more. Another muffled reply. Sasuke walked down the hallway trying to figure out which room Naruto had ventured off to.

“-uke! Where... have you... been?” Naruto loudly said. Sasuke grew angrier as he opened the door leading to his room. Lying on his bed was a drunk blonde, singing an odd song. There were bottle all around his bed. Where Naruto found the alcohol was Sasuke’s guess. He stepped over to the edge of the bed and looked down.

“Where have you been?! Was starting to get... worried,” Naruto lazily looked up, wrapping his arm around Sasuke’s body, grabbing the ass that the hand had found. Sasuke’s face reddened as he hit Naruto to let him go. The blonde only giggled as he started to sing another song, “Sasuke magically dissappeareeeedd!!! Now he is fouuunndd!!! Neevvveerrrr looost aggaaaaiinnnn!!!”

“Dobe! You’re risking your health! I told you not to have alcohol!” Sasuke scolded as he tried to make the hand let go. Instead, the hand grabbed his hand and pulled hard. Sasuke fell on top of Naruto with a grunt coming out of both of them.

“Heavy Sasuke! But since you are hoooott, I’ll forgive youuuu,” Naruto slurred out. Sasuke’s nose scrunched up from the smell of strong alcohol. He tried to pull himself off, but his legs got tangled in his blankets.

“Where the hell did you find the alcohol anyway? I didn’t think I had any!” Sasuke growled out. Having both the blanket and Naruto’s arms around him was making it very difficult to get free. He hated the smell of the alcohol; actually, he hated alcohol at all costs! Having lost brain cells seemed like a stupid idea to him.

“Foooouuunnnd it in the basement basement!” Naruto sighed out. Sasuke frowned. He never even realized there was a cellar in the basement. He would have to investigate that tomorrow. Right now, he needed to get free and drag the other male into the guest room. That’s when Naruto slid his hand into Sasuke’s pants. Sasuke froze as he slowly digested what the other was doing to him.

“GET YOUR HAND OFF OF ME, DOBE!” Sasuke yelled. He was in an awkward position that he couldn’t grab Naruto’s arm. The worst part of this was that he was starting to get hard. Even more awkward was that Sasuke could feel something hard against his thigh. Naruto slowly licked his neck.

“Why would I do that? You seem to be enjoying my touch,” Naruto whispered before he pushed his lips against Sasuke’s. Sasuke didn’t know what to do. He was never in this situation before so his mind was blank. The only thing he thought of doing was open his mouth to protest, which allowed the slick tongue of Naruto’s to come inside of his. The blonde also began to play with his testes.

Sasuke growled as he pushed against Naruto. His hands were on Naruto’s shoulder as he glared at Naruto.

“I will not submit to you! If we are to do such things, I will be in charge, not you, you hear me!” Sasuke yelled. Naruto gave him a sly grin. Naruto figured Sasuke would be like that. Naruto pulled his hand out of Sasuke’s pants.

“Mm-hm. I hear you. Actually, I have a bet for you. Are you willing to take it on?” Naruto asked watching Sasuke from under his eyelashes. The raven haired male looked at the blonde with suspicion. He leaned on his elbows.

“What are you betting?” Sasuke asked. Naruto grinned. He leaned back against the pillow he like so much. He couldn’t wait to see how Sasuke would act to what was on the line for him.

“My virginity,” Naruto whispered. Sasuke almost fell over when he heard Naruto’s answer. He could see the images of Naruto’s naked body, face in pleasure, and the sweat on his body. His face flustered.

“What the hell are you saying?! Why bet on such a thing?!” Sasuke yelled with a red face. He turned his face. The other chuckled.

“Cause I don’t mind losing it to you,” Naruto grinned, “So? What do you think? Do you think you can win my virginity?” Sasuke thought for a minute while Naruto sang another made up song.

“Fine! You’re not even going to remember this when you sober up!” Sasuke muttered. Naruto wrapped his arms around Sasuke’s neck and pulled. Sasuke immediately took control of the kiss. He sucked on Naruto’s bottom lip, and then his tongue demanded entrance into the blonde’s mouth. Naruto did not protest as he opened his lips for the other. The tongue slid in and Sasuke began to memorize all of the mouth. This went on for a few minutes before oxygen became a concern for the both of them. They broke apart, breathing heavily.

“Mmmm... My bet... is... if you can make... me love you before I die. If you lose, you have to wear a dress and go on a date with... Kakashi...” Naruto panted out. Sasuke’s eyes widened at the bet and was about to say something, but Naruto passed out at that moment.

Sasuke stared at Naruto for a few minutes thinking about what to do. He wasn’t thinking about the bet, but what Naruto said in the bet. ‘Before I die’. Did Naruto not have any trust in Sakura and Tsunade? Did he believe that no cure would be found?

“Dobe...” Sasuke whispered. He would make sure a cure would be found so Naruto wouldn’t have to talk like that.

Naruto’s arms were still wrapped around him and seemed to be in a death grip, so Sasuke forced himself to relax against Naruto’s body. Hmmm... They never ate anything. Oh well, they’ll eat later.

He realized that he would never see Tsunade the same ever again...
