Sleep

"Come on, Sasuke, I wanna get some sleep," Naruto whined pathetically as the Uchiha continued to dance some odd dance, even though there was no more music or people smiling. Sasuke reluctantly started towards the door, tripping over his own feet and falling.

Naruto sighed.

The blonde grasped him by the hand and helped him up, then hoisted one of the prick's arms over his shoulder. "You are a load of fun, eh, Sasuke?" The Uchiha nodded and smiled. Sasuke simply hummed and remarked to himself how cute Naruto looked in that crimson coat.

Naruto waved adieu to the bartender, the last person remaining, and walked out of this little world that was no longer so brightly lit. Night in New Orleans. This pitch dark allowed no illusions, the oil lamps were all out on this street. Naruto thought of going back to ask for a lantern, but the door was now locked tight.

So, he walked as fast as his groggy load would allow. Barely navigating the the same way they had come. Sasuke, all the while, sighing and humming to himself.

Cute little drunkard, isn't he?

The brightly lit thoroughfare that had led to their little alley was no longer so cheerful. Only about half the lamps were burning, and only dark, ominous men walked the streets. Two aristocrats in blue and crimson made quite an impression on these peasants walking through the night. Naruto did his best to ignore them, but he couldn't remember where it was that Sasuke had left that damned horse.

"Excuse me."

A man sitting sullenly on the stoop of a lovely home looked up, not saying a word. "Would you happen to know where that hotel is around here...?" Naruto tried to look a little tougher than usual. It didn't work.

The man laughed, then realized that this little twit wasn't insulting him like most aristos who passed. "What happened to blue there?" He grinned, referring to Sasuke. "Oh," Naruto stuttered, "he's, ehm, just a bit tired." The man laughed again, "ah, I see. But of course. Keep walking." Naruto winced as the man picked up a knife that had been laying at his side.

Then the man picked up the apple on his other side. "Keep walking, I think I know the one you mean. It's that way." The man nodded his head to the right and smiled.

Sigh.

Naruto was more than happy to get walking. "So, you've just met a proud denizen of mine own fair city. First impressions?" Sasuke smirked as he whispered in the blonde's ear. Naruto got goose bumps. "Fun."

"Ah, there it is," Naruto smiled, this was where they left the horse. And, this was hopefully where he could find a place to sleep. He dragged Sasuke up the steps, the Uchiha was basically asleep by now. A doorman was still out at this late hour. "Bonjour, bon nuit', monsieur?" the man smiled as if it were the most pleasent day on earth. "Yes, and thank you," Naruto returned the smile and stepped through the door into the lobby.

It was nice.

Really nice.

Instead of crown moldings, there was gold. For chairs, crimson sofas. And there was even the smell of warm tea in the air. Naruto would have loved to simply stay there.

"Oh dear, is he alright?" The receptionist directed this at Naruto, it took him a moment to snap out of his reverie, though. "Oh? Oh! Sasuke?" The woman nodded. "Oh, yes, he's fine," Naruto smiled the biggest smile he could. "But, a room would be lovely, madame," he added. "Of course," she smiled in return, then rummaged a bit through the contents behind the desk and retrieved a key. "Third floor, sir."

Naruto looked down at the key, number 113. Naruto looked around for a moment, then sighed again. Then another sigh.

He realized he'd have to carry Sasuke's heavy ass up three flights of stairs.

Ugh.

So, he cradled the boy as a husband would his wife, and began the long trek up the stairs. He started panting after the first five, give or one. But, after much patience and many expletives, he reached the third floor. It was hard to comprehend how such a pain in the ass could look so damned cute, especially in his arms.

"Room one thirteen," he mumbled, trying to find the door.

"Got ya," now was the tasking of opening the thing with both hands full. "Shit," he laid Sasuke down gently on the floor. He wasn't going to wake up anytime soon. The blonde tentatively opened the door, then hurried and lifted the Uchiha from the floor, needing to turn his body sideways to fit in the doorway.

The room was enormous, but he was tired and only wanted to find somewhere to toss this dead weight. This angelic seeming, dead weight.

"Ahh," he'd found a bed. It was huge. He put Sasuke in the crimson armchair beside it and pulled the covers back. Then, he took off Sasuke's coat and his shoes. He smiled a bit, then giggled. He lifted the boy into the bed, then pulled the satins and silks over him.

Naruto yawned, then stretched out on the other side of the bed. He curled up against a pillow and he slept.

...

Sunshine through the windows. Sasuke woke, his eyes adjusting to the light. He looked around a bit and there was Naruto lying next to him, on this large, cozy bed.

Oh god. What did I do to him??

Shit.
