New Life

Ok. I know it's been a while since I updated this story. So, here's chapter 2 at last.

Chapter 2: New Life

Music was playing in the background as Quinn got dressed for college. She was tired from the two weeks of getting the Akatsuki to behave and be civil to each other. She'd surprised them on how she wouldn't back down from them at their threats at first. Eventually, after tackling Kisame dead in the gut and knocking him to the ground, Itachi agreed that he would watch the rest of them and keep them in line. She yawned and pulled a white blouse over her head and down her torso before going to grab her favorite pair of faded blue jeans on her bed. Once dressed, she walked over to her vanity she grabbed her brush and began to put her hair up into her Sailor Moon ponytails. She smiled when she finished with her hair and let herself dance a bit to the music she was listening to. After a few moments, she started to sing along to the song as well.
"Ev'rybody wants someone to love
Somebody they can trust, somebody they can touch
Ev'rybody wants to give their heart away
Ev'rybody needs a little tenderness
To feel understood, to feel passionate
Ev'rybody wants to be in love this way
I know I do
What about you?"
Itachi was watching her dance and listening to her angelic voice through the crack of the door. 'She's an angel. An honest to God angel.' He thought as he continued to gaze on her from afar. His black eyes never once left her image.
Her voice became stronger with the last chorus.
"Ev'rybody wants someone to love
Somebody they can trust, somebody they can touch
Ev'rybody wants to give their heart away
Ev'rybody needs a little tenderness
To feel understood, to feel passionate
Ev'rybody wants to be in love this way..." She sang before the song changed to a more upbeat song.

Itachi's red eyes refused to avert their gaze from her. Alex finally came out his room next door to Quinn's and yawned. "Morning already?" He asked himself before seeing Itachi peeking through Quinn's door. "Hey!" Alex yelped pointing an accusing finger at his 'rival'. Deidara came upstairs and frowned. He was dressed in a black t-shirt and black jeans. His hands were covered by a pair of Quinn's nicer black gloves. "What's all the fuss, un?" He asked.
"Itachi's peeking on my girlfriend!" Alex replied to Deidara. Itachi huffed and finally turned away from her door. "She better have been dressed buddy or else!" Alex warned the Uchiha heir. Itachi just glared at him hard.
"What's going on?" Quinn asked, opening her door and looking at the three men in front of her door.
"Nothing at all, Lady Quinn. I was merely admiring your singing that I heard as I passed your door. I stopped to listen when these two came upon me." Itachi explained to her calmly. 'That's the biggest load of bull I've ever heard!' Alex growled in his head.
The hostess looked down and walked past them. "Excuse me." She said.
"Quinn is...very shy about her voice. I've told her countless times she doesn't have to be afraid of what people think." Alex told Itachi and Deidara. Itachi only watched as Quinn walked away.
"She's very good, un." Deidara said. "Why would she be shy, un?" "I've been asking myself the same question." Her boyfriend answered before glancing at his watch. "OH CRAP! Is that the time? I gotta get ready for college!" He said bolting downstairs to get breakfast.

Quinn had her things ready downstairs and waiting already. She walked into the kitchen and noticed Sasori and Hidan arguing about something. "What is it this time?" She asked somewhat flatly. Hidan was always arguing with someone about something or other by the time she came downstairs for breakfast in the morning.
"Hidan's just complaining about this book he found called 'The Bible' and won't shut up about it." Sasori answered the lady of the house. "It's fucking ridiculous though." Hidan continued to argue.
"Ok ok... I'm not one who's entirely religious, but each person has a right to follow whatever religion they choose." She said. "Leave it at that and drop it." She added with her 'ordering' tone.
Both Hidan and Sasori sweatdropped and bowed their heads. "Yes Ma'am." They said together. "Who's turn is it to cook breakfast?" She asked. "That would be me." Tobi said as he held a couple of trays of food. "It's waffles! I made them all by myself." He added happily.
"That's great." She said before she grabbed a waffle and stuffed it into her mouth. "I've gotta get going. Tell Alex I'm going ahead." She said as she grabbed her things and headed out the door. Tobi saluted his 'big sister' figure. "Yes Ma'am." He said with a smile behind his mask.

The rest of Akatsuki joined in with breakfast. "These are good, what's in them?" Kisame asked. "There's waffle in them." Tobi said grinning.
Kakuzu ate his food quickly. "Our hosts have suggested that we buy new clothes so that we can fit in better." He said to the others.
"How do we do that if we can't leave the house like this?" Hidan asked his partner.
"Lady Quinn suggested that this Saturday we all go to this place called 'the mall'. She said that they have many stores that supply clothes."
"This 'Mall' sounds like a tricky place to me." Kisame said crossing his arms. "But how are we gonna pay for clothes without money? Big brother Alex says our money ain't good in this world." Tobi asked the others.
"We have a large amount of yen, but we can't use it." Kakuzu said. "Correction, un." Deidara said entering the room. "Lady Quinn said that our money is not usable in this country. But there is a country where we can use it, un." He said.
"Go on." Hidan urged the blonde to do so. "She called this place 'Japan', un." Deidara said.
Itachi then came into the room to continue what Deidara was going to say. "It would seem we must use currency conversion system. That way we can convert our Yen into this country's currency." He told the gang. "That works too." Kakuzu said. "Maybe Big brother can do it for us?" Tobi suggested. Just then Alex bolted into the room grabbing a stack of waffles. "Be back soon guys!" He said before dashing out the door. "Or not..." Kisame said sarcastically.

An upbeat song began to play from the kitchen counter, where Quinn's cell phone was ringing. "Huh? Is that a phone?" Tobi asked looking around. Itachi picked up her cell and answered it. "Hello?" He asked into the phone. "Hey, Quinn?" A female voice asked from the opposite end. "She's not here right now. You just missed her. May I ask who is calling?" Itachi asked, his male voice clear to the caller now.
"Uh, sure. This is her friend Sami. I was calling to ask her if she knew that sign up for the talent show ended today at the end of class. She's been trying to sign up but she's yet to do so. And I knew she wanted to do at least two acts." Sami said.
"Can I put you on hold for a moment. I'll pass you over to Quinn in just a moment." Itachi replied to Sami as he started walking out the door. "Wait Itachi! Your clothes!" Sasori yelped but the Uchiha didn't listen and shut the door.

Meanwhile, at Emina University, Quinn was franticly searching through her purse and backpack for her cell phone. "I know I had in when I was in the kit-" She slapped her forehead, like she did whenever she felt annoyed or for any given reason. "I left the damn thing in the kitchen..." She concluded.
"Having a bad hair day again, Calliway?" A stuck-up female voice asked from a few feet away. The voice made Quinn grip her fist and turn to the girl with a fake smile. "Emma London.... I thought you went back home to Hell." She said with abundant sarcasm and annoyance.

Itachi, having used his superb ninja skill that he, along with the other Akatsuki members had kept in their jump in to this world, landed silently in a tree above the two girls. 'With someone else present, I cannot reveal myself in this attire.' Itachi thought.

"Oh, ha ha ha. Laugh while you can, Yankee trash." The girl said, her British accent perfectly visible. She had shoulder length black hair, and deep brown eyes that were full of hate for Quinn. She was wearing a pale yellow dress with pale pink flower patterns on it and matching yellow shoes. "Once I win this year's talent show, using my beautiful voice once again, Alex will drop you like the bitchy American freak that you are and come to me; A refined British lady with class and money." Emma said, causing Quinn to ball her fists again. "I mean, honestly, you dress like the characters in your fucked up little cartoons." She added.
"Take that back, bitch!" Quinn yelled. "Anime is NOT fucked up!" "Then why do you always dress like that Sailor Moon brat? She went out of style back in '95." Emma said. "Face it, you just can't grow up. On top of that, you don't enter the talent show because you know I'll just beat you and humiliate you. You can't sing, can't dance, can't act. Well, except like a child." "Don't push me, Emma." Quinn warned. Had she been an Uchiha herself, the Sharingan would have been visible long ago.

"Ladies, ladies!" Alex called out as he saw trouble brewing. Emma turned to Alex and smiled. "Alex, why don't you just forget this little wannabe princess and come date a girl of your own status?" She asked, taking Alex's arm. "You've got 2 seconds to get off my arm or I'll break yours." He warned her with a hard glare.
"You wouldn't hit a lady would you?" She asked with a coy smile, knowing that Alex wasn't the type to hit a girl, ever.

Alex sweatdropped and simply slipped his arm out of her grip. He walked over to his upset beloved and placed his hands on her shoulders. "You ok?" He asked her."I'm fine. You have to get to class. I still have a half hour before mine starts." She told him.
"Well...ok. Oi! Emma!" Alex replied to Quinn before yelling at Emma. Emma turned to him and smiled. "Yes?" "Don't you have an imaginary boyfriend to annoy? Better get moving or you'll be late." He told her firmly. Quinn sighed. "Just go, hun." She told Alex. "Ok, I'll see you at lunch." He said smiling before kissing her lips gently then taking off to his graphic design seminar.

Emma walked over to Quinn once Alex was gone. "Keep your hands away from him, little American tramp." She snapped. "I could say the same of you, you stuck up British peacock of a bitch." Quinn snapped back, not knowing that Itachi was still listening.

Itachi was glaring hard at them both. 'This Emma girl is belittling Lady Quinn. I should kill her but...I must also honor Lady Quinn's wishes.' He thought.
"You should stop referring to yourself, slut." Emma said. "My voice is perfection. Angel's weep when I sing." "Yeah, they cry because they want you to stop." Quinn said, crossing her arms. "You're no Christine, bitch. I AM." Emma said, referring to Quinn's favorite musical, 'The Phantom of the Opera'. "You are nothing more than that poser Carlotta." She added before turned to leave. "First place will be mine this year. And along with that, Alex." She said. "But you're welcome to try and win."

"That is enough." Itachi said firmly as he landed on his feet from the tree branch, a hard glare in his eyes. Emma stepped back as Itachi jumped down from the tree. She studied his face and smirked slightly. "And where did you come from, handsome? Heaven?" She asked. "Itachi?! What are you doing here?" Quinn asked. One of his hands came out of his sleeve holding her cell phone. "Your friend Sami called. It's important so you should call her back." Itachi informed her, ignoring Emma all together.
"Sami? What did she want?" She asked, taking her slim pink Katana camera phone from him. "It was about the talent show. Sign ups finish today and she was letting you know that." Itachi answered.
"Oh God. I forgot that today's the last day. You can sign up a maximum of three times." She said. "I only need one turn in the show to win." Emma said, walking to Itachi and holding out her hand, as if waiting for him to take it and kiss it. "Emma London, head of the cheerleading squad and Queen of Emina campus." She said.
Itachi looked at her hand and huffed. "Charmed, but anyone who speaks ill of Lady Quinn or Master Alex is not worthy of my time." He told her calmly but firmly.
"Lady? Her?" Emma snapped. "Itachi and his friends are staying with us." Quinn explained.
"May I escort you to the sign up booth?" Itachi asked Quinn, again ignoring Emma completely. Quinn looked down and shook her head. "No. I'm not going to sign up." She said. "My only talents are my pictures and my costumes. And I can't use that on stage." She said, purposely ignoring the dance routine.
"But Lady Quinn. I heard your singing voice this morning and it...it touched my heart." Itachi said surprised that she said she wasn't going to enter.
"I'm not that good." She said. "Regardless, that first place trophy is mine." Emma said before walking off.

"Emma." Itachi called out with an annoyed tone of voice, this time using no honorific suffix. Emma turned back to face him. "Yes?" She asked.
Itachi glared at her, his Mangekyo Sharingan activated. "For 72 hours you will see what you fear most..." He whispered faintly. Emma froze, a moment later falling to her knees in pure panic. Quinn looked at Itachi. "You didn't..."
"I didn't do anything that would harm her. It will simply give her a small fright." He explained as his eyes returned their normal Sharingan eyes.
"Itachi, please go home. She's bound to start a rumor now." She said. "Go to the front office, and give them this." She said, handing him an envelope.
Itachi bowed to her as he took the envelope. "Yes Lady Quinn and accept my humble apologies." He said to her.
She wiped away a tear. "I'd never be star material, so why bother trying?" She said as she gathered up her things and headed to her fashion design and creations class.
Itachi was about to comfort her before she ran off. He sighed to himself then leapt over to the front office.
