Confession of a Sensei and student

“What are you doing?!?!” Naruto shouted from the classroom doorway. He waited for either man in front of him to answer. Both of them just stared at him, Kakashi in shock and Iruka in guilt.

“Naruto, its not what it looks like.” Iruka said and shoved the other man off of him.

Naruto wasn’t sure if he was angry or upset. Both emotions were currently in a battle for dominance in his head and in his heart. Upset won and tears started flowing from his eyes. He slammed the door shut and ran down the hall.

As he was running, he could hear Iruka calling his name but he didn’t look back. “Naruto wait.” He just ran faster.

Naruto’s vision was being blurred from the endless flow of tears and he tripped over his feet. A pair of arms wrapped around him before he hit the ground. He looked up at the man that was holding him.

“Why are you hurting me like this?” He asked as he sobbed into Iruka’s shirt.

“Naruto I’m not trying to hurt you. It was him I swear. I would never do that do you.” Iruka said as he stroked the blonde’s shaggy hair.

“What’s up?” A casual voice said from above them.

Naruto glanced up from Iruka’s tear soaked shirt and glared at the man that tried to steal his Iru-sensei. “You!” He yelled. His eyes reddened, his pupils became slits, his nails extended to claws, and his canines grew into fangs.

“Kakashi!” Naruto hissed as he tried to stand up, but his body was already being covered with the demon’s cloak. Two tails erupted from his back side. “Kakashi, how dare you kiss my Iru-sensei?!?! He screamed and lunged at the silver-haired jounin.

Kakashi barely dodged the attack. “Naruto calm down.” He said remembering that they were in the middle of the street.

“No I won’t calm down. You tried to steal my Iruka from me. You’re going to pay for that!” Naruto yelled as a third tail formed. He flung himself at his teammate and ex-sensei.

“Naru-Kitsune.” A calm but serious voice called to him from what seemed like miles away. His demonic head turned to face the one that spoke. Then he immediately turned back to Kakashi. He raised an arm to swipe at him but a hand grabbed his wrist.

The man the arm belonged to turned him around to face him. “Iru-sensei.” Naruto said in an angry huff.

“Naru-Kitsune, there’s a reason I asked you to have lunch with me today.” Iruka started. The demon boy looked at his love as he pulled something out of his pocket.

“This is a promise ring.” He said holding it up for Naruto to see. It was silver, had a heart in the middle with a hand on each side, and had a crown sitting on it. He immediately melted back to his normal self.

“Iru-sensei…” Naruto asked with his eyes full of hope, hope that Iruka was seriously promising to never leave him. He started crying again and wrapped his arms around the man’s neck. “I love you, Iruka Umino.” He whispered.

“And I love you, Naruto Uzumaki.” He whispered back as he slipped the ring on his left ring finger.

Iruka pulled away from Naruto’s embrace and handed him another ring identical to the one he was now wearing. He graciously took it and placed it on his love’s left ring finger. Then he pulled the brunette in for a kiss.

Iruka broke the simple, but love-filled kiss and put his forehead on Naruto’s. “Naruto I love you forever.” He said sweetly.

“Forever.” The blond kitsune lovingly repeated. From that day on, Naruto never went into his demon form again.

>>> A Few Years Later>>>

“Iruka, are we ever going to have kids?” Naruto asked one night as they were getting ready for bed.

“Yeah of course but I thought we were going to wait a while.” He said sitting on the bed.

“We were but it was like two years ago that we had that talk.” The blonde man said pulling Iruka to him.

“Well what would you like to do, adopt a baby or hire a surrogate mother?” Iruka asked cuddling up.

“We should adopt. That way we won’t have to argue about which one of us will be the father.” Naruto so wisely stated as he pulled Iruka’s hair band out.

“That’s a good point.” He agreed with a yawn. “Also, it would cost too much to hire a surrogate.”

“Can we do it tomorrow?” Naruto begged with a cute, foxy pout.

“Alright, but you know it’ll take longer than a day to work everything out right?” Iruka asked.

“Yeah I know. We have to decide on a girl or boy, pick out a baby, fill out a bunch of paperwork, get background checks done on us and then spend several days visiting the baby so he or she can get used to us.” Naruto explained.

“How do you know all that?” Iruka teased.

“I already went down to the orphanage and asked about it. It’s typical, we can adopt a kid together but we can’t get married.” The young blonde said shaking his head a little.

“I know it’s not fair, Naru-Kitsune.” Iruka said cradling his fox. Naruto didn’t hear him though, he already fell asleep. “Good night Naruto.” He said lightly as he too drifted off to sleep.

>>>Three Months Later>>>

“Naruto calm down. You don’t want them to think either of us are crazy.” Iruka said trying to keeping the blond from jumping up and down in excitement.

“I’m sorry Iru-sensei. I’m just so excited.” Naruto said as he was pulled into Iruka’s lap.

“I’m excited too, but wait till we get home to celebrate.” The brunette said holding his kitsune tightly.

“Alright, alright, alright.” Naruto said before kissing him.

A few minutes later, a very serious-looking woman called them into her office. It took all of Naruto’s self-control and Iruka’s death grip on his hand to keep him from jumping for joy.

“Please sit.” The woman said gesturing to the chairs across from her desk.

“Thank you.” Both said. Naruto couldn’t stop fidgeting from excitement.

“There’s just one more step before everything’s done.” She said with a harsh smile. The blond and the brunette exchanged smiles. “Just sign this.” She said and handed them a piece of paper.

They both quickly signed it and handed it back to the woman. “I’ll be right back and I won’t be alone.” She said as she filed the paper away. She walked across the room and snapped the door shut behind her.

Naruto let out a very high-pitched squeal as soon as the door was shut. Iruka shook his head at his love’s immaturity but he had a smile on his face.

“Naru-Kitsune, have I ever told you how much I love you?” Iruka asked.

“Only every day.” He answered and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. “I love you too, Iru-sensei.”

The door opened again and the woman came back in with a stroller that had a baby girl in it. She pushed it between the two of them and turned it around so they could see their new daughter. The smile on Naruto’s face was intoxicating.

“Can we hold her?” The blond man asked.

“Of course, she’s your daughter now.” The woman answered.

Naruto picked up the baby girl and she smiled at him. “Hi Yuki. You remember me and Iruka don’t you?” He asked and put one of his fingers in her grasp. Iruka got up from his chair and stood behind Naruto so he could see her too. Yuki looked up and smiled at him too.

Either Naruto, Iruka, or both of them went to visit her every day since they picked her to adopt. They wanted her to know them by the time she went home with them.

“Well, that’s all there is to do. So you can take her home now.” The woman said. Naruto stood up with Yuki still in his arms and Iruka pushed the stroller.

As they were walking home, a lot people were giving them strange looks. Some even said rude things loud enough for them to hear. A few of their friends walked up to them to look at the baby and congratulate them. Even Kakashi talked to them.

Naruto’s relationship with his teammate and former sensei had been fairly strained since he went demon fox on him. The only times they could talk freely was if they were on a mission and had to be serious.

“Naruto, can I talk to you for a minute?” Kakashi asked without making eye contact.

“I guess so.” He said handing Yuki to Iruka, who gave him a look of warning. “I know, I know.” He said quietly.

“What’s going on?” Naruto asked when they were out of Iruka’s earshot. Kakashi turned around and hugged him.

“I’m so sorry for what I did. I didn’t know you two were seeing each other. I thought he was just being shy or something.” He explained and let go of him. There were tears in his eyes, happy tears.

Naruto patted him on the shoulder. “It’s ok. I should have known that you would never purposely do something to hurt him or me.” He said smiling. They hugged again and then walked back to Iruka.

The brunette smiled when he saw the other two smiling and getting along so well. “So did you two get over your issues?” He asked.

“Yeah we did.” Naruto said wiping his eyes. He too had started to cry a little. “We’ll see you later Kakashi sensei.” He said hugging him again.

“You haven’t called me sensei in years.” He said laughing a little. “Bye.”

When the new family got home, Yuki was sleeping so they put here to bed. Naruto and Iruka watched her sleep for a few minutes before going to lie down for a while.

“I love you Iru-sensei.” Naruto said as he snuggled up to Iruka’s chest.

“I love you too, Naru-Kitsune.” Iruka said before kissing the top of his head. A few minutes later, they fell sound asleep.
