I'm sure you've already noted the marked difference, I just thought I would specify for the hell of it. Well onward we go. Chapter 2 When We've Said Goodbye

What on earth? Naruto thought as he tugged at the door, his plans of escaping Sasuke dashed before his very eyes as the door refused to give way.

He glared at it, as if the inanimate object would open in fear of reprisal.

Not surprisingly nothing happened.

“Great.” Naruto muttered. “Just great.” It wasn't bad enough that he'd had to dress as a female tonight, and had basically been forced to sing, just because the stupid opera house would lose revenue. No, now some idiot had to go and lock the goddamn door.

He banged his head repeatedly against the unyielding surface.

“Having trouble?” a familiarly annoying voice piped up.

“Go away.” Naruto groaned without lifting his head from its bowed position. “I am so not in the mood for your shit, tonight.”

“Silly me.” it said. “I thought you wanted to get out of this room. Well, I'll leave you to your sulking.”

Naruto's head came up at the word “out,” and he quickly replied.

“Wait, wait, I'm sorry.”

“Hmpf!” the voice huffed in mock offense. “Just don't let it happen again.”

“Fine.” Naruto dismissed, desperate to escape. “Just tell me how to get out of this freaking prison cell. Make it quick, too. That bastard will be back any minute.”

The figure positioned nearby, didn't like the sound of that little snot taking his possession anywhere, either, so for once he actually did as Naruto requested.

“See the mirror?”

Naruto nodded.

“Its kind of hard to miss.” he remarked dryly. He wasn't kidding, the biggest thing in the room, it was an enormous object. Obviously cleaned daily, it covered the entire back wall and was framed in beaten gold disks.

“It's a door, simply push and slide. I will personally guide you after that.”
Naruto's eyes widened in surprise. He knew that one day he'd get to see this person who had been one of the only constants in his life. He just didn't know it would be this soon.

Wasting no time, he strode over to the mirror and did as the voice had instructed, pushing and then sliding. To his shock, the mirror gave way, with a slight groan, and opened into a pitch black corridor.

He blinked, wishing that he had a torch or something to light his way.

Feeling his way along the wall, Naruto was grateful that the voice had decided to help, after all.

Personally guide you, my ass, he growled, in his musings and due to the complete darkness he failed to stop and collided into a warm chest.

“S-Sorry.” he mumbled, not fully realizing who this probably was. He was, after all, not in complete control of his bearings.

“It's no problem.” the unseen person purred at him. It then hit Naruto who the voice belonged to.

“You bastard!” He swung blindly, trying to land a punch.

The figure just laughed, catching his wrists and backing Naruto into a wall.

“You might want to ensure you hit what you aim at.” was whispered in his ear, the seductive quality to the tone sending shivers down Naruto's back. “Otherwise someone might take advantage.”

So close to the other for the first time ever, was almost overwhelming. He smelled of some wonderful, but unidentifiable spice, and he wore gloves, the leather of which, could be felt pressing into his imprisoned wrists.

“Someone like you?” the smaller of the two whispered back, a husky note added to the already lyrical lilt that naturally occurred in his voice.

The grip on his wrists tightened.

“It had better only be me.” the voice hissed its possessiveness.

Naruto knew he shouldn't rise to the challenge, especially considering the position he was in, but he couldn't resist the urge.

“And if it isn't?”

“You don't ever want to find out the answer to that question.” was all that was said, as his wrists were released and any contact with the other was lost.

Looking towards—or what he hoped was towards—the figure who had just moments been a hairsbreadth away from his face, Naruto wondered if he would ever figure this person out

Following the person currently ahead of him, was proving to be a challenge for Naruto, due mostly to the fact that he couldn't see the hand in front of him, much less make out where they were headed.
Stumbling for what seemed like the thousandth time, Naruto's 'teacher' finally seem to grasp that Naruto couldn't keep up, and he strode over to his pupil's side, grasping his arm.

“Seeing as how you can't even manage as simple a task as walking,” was whispered into Naruto's ear, the owner of the voice smirking, as the other visibly shuddered, despite the insulting content, “I guess I'll have to help you.”

The hand that on his arm was almost intoxicating in its warmth, it seeped into Naruto, filling him with a foreign feeling, something he couldn't name. Wordlessly, he allowed himself to be lead to the god's know where, not really caring where their destination was, so long as that wonderful sensation remained.

After being dragged for what seemed like hours through the dreary pitch black dark corridors, Naruto was shocked when the arm that was securing him suddenly yanked him to a sudden stop.

Pulling his arm from out of his unknown assailant's grasp Naruto pulled the appendage to his side, nursing it with the other untouched arm.

“What's the big idea?!” he hissed into the darkness not knowing where to direct his irritation. “Were you trying to pull my arm out its socket?!”

“Of course not.” was his answer. “You were taking too long so I decided to help.”

Naruto snorted.

“Some help.” he scoffed. “If you ever think about 'helping' me again do me a favor, and don't!”

Before he could bite out another scathing remark, he felt warm bursts of breath hit his cheeks and realized that the current enigma that he'd been following was once again invading his personal space.

Uh oh, Naruto thought, maybe I should have a bit more tactful.

“I don't think I heard you correctly, Naruto-kun,” was purred at him, “exactly what do you plan to do if I decide to help you again?”

Naruto by now, was once again flustered, as only this individual could render him managed to stutter out.

“N-Nothing.”

“That's what I thought.” All traces of warm teasing aside the voice became brisk and business-like as usual. “Now here we are.”

“Where exactly is “here?” Naruto questioned, still not able to see anything in front of him.

“My playground.” was chuckled, before a bright light flashed, somehow instantaneously lighting all of the torches at once.
The sudden illumination compared to the former darkness of the room left Naruto quite blind for a moment as his eyes struggled to focus.

Able to see now, he sought out the man who was responsible for his current location.

He was tall, was the first thing Naruto noticed, much taller than his meager sixty-six inches. If had to approximate he would have put the older male's height somewhere around seventy-five inches. The hair was unusual to say the least, it stood up straight in silver spikes all around his head. The only parts of his face that Naruto could make out was one eye that was such a pale blue that it looked almost as silver as said person's hair, and the nose which was well-defined, but had a slightly arrogant tilt to it as if to say “I know I'm better than you.” He wore a black turtleneck sweater and charcoal pants that were seemingly effortlessly tailored.

Naruto felt his stomach drop in disappointment, he'd hoped that he would finally get to see all of his mysterious 'teacher,' but still, the little he had seen was making his body feel abnormally warm.

That one visible pale blue eye gleamed at Naruto, doing a perusal of his own, not missing the flash of disappointment in the younger's eyes before it was quickly replaced with the usual look of boredom.

Who care what the boy thinks of you, the figure admonished himself, you didn't undertake him to make him fall in love with you! You did it because he is the vessel of your revenge.

But the older still couldn't resist teasing the boy into admitting he was disappointed.

“What'd the matter, Naruto-kun?” he softly teased, “You were expecting something more glamorous?”

“Not at all.” Naruto quickly countered. “I'm just wondering why someone would cover up so much of their face---.”

His next words were cut off as a large hand pushed him into a wall, fingers wrapping around the delicate skin of his neck.

“Naruto-kun, Naruto-kun,” the voice taunted, underlaid with a hint of steel telling Naruto he'd hit a sore spot. “How many times must I tell you not delve into things that do not concern you.”

Instead of the fear that would have filled a normal person's face, Naruto's face became impassive, any glimpse of emotion that had been present was gone, as if someone had blown out a candle.

“Let me go.” was demanded quietly.

Strangely enough his demand was obeyed, the long pale fingers releasing their captive almost immediately.

“Now,” Naruto went on in the same quiet voice that had demanded his release, “you will give something to call you. It can be your real name or something else, it matters not. You will also tell me why you saw fit to bring me down here. Don't bother giving any drivel about “saving me from that annoying Vicomte.” I deserve to know the truth, and why you've been 'teaching' me for all of these years.”

At his first demand the one visible brow had arched in mocked affront, then under his mask an amused smirk appeared.

“Demanding little thing, aren't you?” the older retorted in begrudging admiration, not many people had stood up to him before. “Well,” he brought his hand up to his chin, his index finger tapping his chin as if in deep contemplation. “You can call me Kakashi, I brought you down here to test your mettle, and I will not reveal my reasons for teaching you, yet.”

Naruto rolled his eyes at the last comment. Oh well at least he had something to call the man now, other than “you.”

“Now that your little test is over, would you mind taking me back to my room?” Naruto drolled, already tired of this game of omission that Kakashi seemed so eager to play.

“Who said anything about it being over?” Kakashi drawled, inwardly smirking as the boy's features took on a flushed appearance, indicating he was angry.

He licked his lips in anticipation, Naruto was already beautiful, but in the firelight he looked like a fallen angel, especially with that adorable little glare.

Well they do say that arguing is just another form of foreplay, and in Kakashi's perverted little world that was just one of his lesser quirks.

Naruto was so busy stewing in his own anger he failed to notice that Kakashi was steadily drawing closer and closer.

As he was grabbed and slammed into a nearby wall it occurred to Naruto that perhaps in the future he should pay more attention to his surroundings...before his musings were cut off by Kakashi's next words.

“...Here is part two of the test....”
