Chapter Three


Sasuke felt warm. He couldn’t recall the last time the sun had warmed his body or the last time he felt warmth of this magnitude. A strong warm hand ran through his hair and it felt good to the youngest Uchiha. Slowly ebony colored orbs opened to lock onto sweet loving azure ones. It all felt surreal.

He thought he was looking into the face of an angel…He felt like he had before…before his father died…wait he remembered now! Sasuke’s breath nearly left him as he inhaled sharply and his wide obsidian eyes locked with curious cerulean.

“Good morning Sasuke!” The raven flinched at the sheer volume of the blonde’s voice.

“Don’t terrorize the boy Naruto.” The other blond Sasuke recognized came in and spoke. He was about to say more when the raven’s cell phone went off.

“Hello?” Naruto swiped it and answered before Sasuke had a chance to realize it was ringing.

“Naruto-kun? Why do you have Sasuke’s phone?”

“Itachi-san? Wait a minute, why are you calling Sasuke’s pho…ne oh my god! You two are brothers!” Sasuke shot Naruto an ‘I can’t believe you didn’t notice before moron’ look through ebony bangs.

“Yes, now let me talk to my otouto.” Naruto grinned sheepishly as he handed the scowling younger Uchiha the phone.

“I thought I told you not to get caught.”

“I couldn’t help it nii-san, he snuck up on me.” Naruto raised an eyebrow at that.

“Besides I got a bigger question. Why didn’t you tell me you knew Naruto?” Silence met him on the other end of the phone for a few moments before a deep sigh was heard.

“So they told you.”

“Wait wait wait! Itachi is a Pureblood vampire, how is Sasuke human?” Naruto spoke up curious. Sasuke’s heart stopped at that. His brother was What?


“Sasuke?”

“What is going on?”

“Sasuke, let me talk to Minato.” Sasuke was so shocked and confused Minato had to take the cell from his stiff hand.

“You never told him?” Minato said with disbelief clear in his voice.

“Sasuke knows he’s just forgotten.”

“That’s no excuse Itachi…” Sasuke started shivering and Naruto was unsure of what to do since he literally let the cat out of the bag.

“Naruto go make Sasuke some tea.” Minato said after noticing his son indecision. The younger blond sighed and went to do as he was told.

“Listen Minato, there is something you should know about Sasuke…”

“What?” Minato paled after hearing what Itachi just told him.

“I’m on my way to pick Sasuke up, I don’t want him alone right now.”

“That’s fine.” Minato said with a sigh.

“Leader says something big is going to happen. Be ready.”

“Hai.” And with that Minato shut Sasuke’s cell and looked at the shocked raven.

“Tou-san! Naru-chan!” Naruto groaned as he came out of the kitchen with a tray of tea.

“We’re in the living room Kyuubi.” Minato said as he sighed.

A grinning tall boy all but skipped into the room. He was almost the same height as Sasuke with long crimson colored hair and dangerously mischievous dark blue eyes. He was wearing low rider blue jeans and a white graphic t that said ‘Same Nightmare – Different Day’. Naruto looked down to see his favorite shoes.

“I wondered where they went to! Shoe Thief!” the blond accused with narrowed and irritated azure orbs. Kyuubi chuckled at his little brother before flopping down on the couch next to the raven.

“Mah, but I love your orange and white chucks baby brother.” Kyuubi winked. The red head noticed someone else on the couch and tilted his head back, his eyes landing onto surprisingly familiar onyx ones.

“You look familiar…” Crimson eyebrows scrunched in thought.

“Ah! I remember now! You’re Sasu-chan! Itachi’s little brother!” Sasuke glared at the red head intensely. Kyuubi slapped the raven on the back and laughed loudly.

“You defiantly got your mother’s genes…” Minato said offhandedly to his eldest son.

“Tou-san~ I know these are girls…but they aren’t mom’s! Mom would have never been caught dead wearing low rider jeans…”

“Kyuubi…”

“Seriously dad! You knew mom better than any of us.”

“Kyuubi…”

“Oh! I finished book four of Boy Toyz, you’d like it Naru-chan.” Naruto blushed harshly at that. His brother and his perverted Yaoi books…Naruto thought as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

“KYUUBI NAMIKAZE!!!” The red head blanched at his father’s tone.

“Ah right right, Leader says that somethin big is gonna happen.” Kyuubi said seriously. Minato growled deeply in this throat.

“Oh…err, I’ve been staying at Itachi’s so…I haven’t finished my house yet. I made cookies yesterday, you can have some if you want Sasu-chan since you are heading that way.” Kyuubi said with a foxy grin.

“I swear…you have the attention span of a gnat…” Naruto deadpanned.

“Awe but you still love me...” Kyuubi pouted at that. Minato threw up his hands and walked off into the kitchen to make some tea. He needed the distraction.

“I heard you tried to get Orochimaru last night.” Kyuubi spoke seriously. Naruto, having watched his father’s retreat turned his eyes to his brother.

“He will pay for his crimes.” Naruto nearly hissed out. Kyuubi chuckled and tried to reason with his brother.

“Yeah, but seriously baby brother, he’s 200 years older than you.”

“I’m 262 years old Nii-san, an Ancient in the eyes of the Immortals, he has no chance against a Pureblood Ancient.” Naruto argued.

“You forget Naru-nii, I’m four years older than you.” Sasuke watched the exchange between brothers and couldn’t help but wonder if he and his brother had been like that…no his brother would have flicked him in the forehead and shooed him away. Sasuke scowled at that.

“Well the only thing he’s got on me is age,”

“NARUTO NAMIKAZE!!!” the blond paled at that. He had forgotten to take down that Prank…

“Err…I’ll be back later.” the blond took off in a blur of black and gold and was through the door before Sasuke or Kyuubi could say anything. Minato came out of the kitchen a minute later soaked from head to toe and covered in flour.

“I swear, you both take after your mother…” He grumbled as he went back into the kitchen. Kyuubi literally shook the couch with his laugher and even dark haired pale Uchiha snickered at what Naruto had done.

“That’s my Naru-chan!”

”You wanted to see me Leader-sama?” The tall raven haired Uchiha said as he pushed open the office door.

“Aa. Come in and have a seat Itachi-san.” The raven inclined his head and did what he was told, pulling up one of the hardwood chairs so he could sit in front of his Leader.

“I have heard that you have been using your brother to gather information for us.” Leader’s voice was not displeased, nor was there any sign of displeasure in his fiery red eyes. Itachi knew not to let his guard down, his leader was well versed in controlling his emotions.

“That is true, Leader-sama.”

“Don’t be so formal Itachi-kun, please I don’t mind if you call me sensei.”

“I have been Yahiko-sempai.”

“Yes, now that’s better.” The color of Yahiko’s hair stood out with the dark contrast of the rest of the room and the black suit the man was wearing.

“I have also been informed that you sent him on a recon mission. Tell me, how did he do?” Itachi remained calm; there was no promise of pain lacing his leader’s voice. He was not in trouble, or so he hoped.

“He was approached by the target but was not discovered.” Itachi reported.

“Ah interesting, interesting indeed.” A slender hand opened the right side drawer in Yahiko’s desk and he pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a Zippo lighter.

“Care for a smoke?” The raven haired vampire shook his head.

“Excuse me, Yahiko-sempai, can you tell me why I am here?” The blond made a show of lighting his cigarette and inhaling. He blew the smoke out before he answered.

“That’s simple of course; I would like Sasuke-kun to join Akatsuki.”
