Chapter 3

“Holy shit is right.” Neji answered, trying to get his breathing and heartbeat back to normal.

“I don’t think that was supposed to happen.” Sasuke said numbly, still unable to believe what had just happened and how strongly he had reacted—to a kiss.

“Hn.” Was Neji’s own incredulous response, also unable to believe what had happened.

“But I liked it.” Sasuke said simply, once more touching his lips to Neji’s who willingly opened to him and deepened the kiss, slowing it down even though Sasuke obviously wanted faster and, if the biting said anything, harder.

Laughing quietly, Neji broke the kiss, a small smirk turning his lips up as he heard Sasuke’s disapproving whine. He didnt know that Sasuke could make such arousing sounds... Yet after a few seconds, his expression became serious, thinking about the implications of this...event.

“So where do we go from here?” He asked wondering if, after everything that had happened, they could return to life as though nothing had changed, and as if they didn’t want the other so bad it showed.
Sapphire eyed flashed in Sasuke’s mind. He still loved Naruto, right? Right!

“Um...maybe this is just a bad case of lust. I mean, I haven’t had sex in over a year. And besides, it’s known that I’m gay, but we don’t know if you’d be willing to take things further than mere kissing.” Sasuke said prosaically, trying to justify the chemistry between them.

“So this is just a bad case of lust?” Neji asked for clarification purposes.

“Hmm... Yes.” Sasuke replied, trying to sound confident, but it sounded weak even to his own ears.

“Well, I guess I’m...bi? I mean, obviously there’s lust between us, and we’re both male. But I still think I like Hinata.” Neji said doubtful.

“You think?” Sasuke asked dubiously.

“It’s not like I was thinking about her just moments before.” Neji said with staring at him as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“Apparently we have to take this slow.” Sasuke proposed, wanting to see where ‘lust’ would lead them.

“I agree...so we aren’t going to make any rash decisions about Naruto and Hinata until we figure this out?” Neji said both a question and a statement. Sasuke was inwardly pleased that Neji had agreed to also give ‘lust’ an opportunity to see where this would take them...he could say they were giving this a ‘chance’. After a small silence, Sasuke made a show of agreeing, processing this information.

Obviously, there was a lot of chemistry between himself and the Hyuuga. How had they not noticed before? But he couldn’t forget about Naruto just like that; because of a kiss that made his toes curl. But man, did Neji know how to kiss! And Sasuke knew he couldn’t continue this thing—this fixation—over Naruto, especially if he felt something for Neji. But it was simply lust. Yeah—lust! He’d get over it once he got it out of his system. (His powers of denial were legendary.) If Neji decided to take this further, then maybe ‘The Plan’ wouldn’t be much of a plan, but it would still result in Naruto returning to him—the dobe wouldn’t stand the jealousy, he was positive. Well, he was hoping very strongly anyway. But if this thing, this lust, developed into something more with Neji, where would that leave Naruto? Would he still hold a special place in Sasuke’s heart?

‘Nothing will change.’ Sasuke’s mind forcefully tried to convince him. ‘This is just lust. I haven’t gotten laid in over a year. Neji is a great kisser, but it won’t change how I feel for Naruto.’

Even as he thought this he had the strongest impulse to kiss Neji. His eyes widened. Sasuke was not an impulsive person, but the desire to kiss Neji was so strong that he didn’t think twice. All his life he lived cautiously—once more his asshole of a brother was to thank for this—but he suddenly decided to throw caution to the wind. It was because of all the rules he put on himself and the reasons he kept everyone at arms length that he’d never had a relationship, of either sex, before Naruto. A simple kiss from Neji showed him what he’d been missing in the year and a half after Naruto broke up with him and even before then.

He decided to follow his impulse and took Neji’s face in his hands, kissing the taller boy passionately. Yes...this he liked.

“Hey you two love birds! Time for school.” Was a shout that resonated throughout the parking lot.

Kiba—screaming at the top of his lungs.

The sound of Kiba’s voice was enough of a shock to snap Sasuke out of the kiss. Sasuke wasn’t a very touchy-feely person, and he did not display affection publicly. Yet it was as though everyone and everything had disappeared except for himself and Neji. But at the mention of school, Sasuke smirked.

“I don’t feel like school today.” He told the Hyuuga, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

“You want to skip first or the whole day?”

“Whole day.” The raven answered shortly. “Wanna come?” he asked smirking, loving how the question sounded so depraved, especially with what he had in mind.

“Uh…sure.” Neji ventured, not knowing what he was getting himself into.

“One question left: your house or mine? –We’ll take my car.”

Sasuke walked beside Neji to his car, automatically opening the passenger door for the brunette. He tossed a quick ‘we’re not going’ before peeling out of the parking lot in the general direction of his home. He looked at his rear view mirror and saw the shrinking form of Naruto staring after him. Sasuke couldn’t read the expression on Naruto’s face, however at the moment he wanted to focus on Neji and see if this chemistry between them was only lust—or if it could lead to something more.
