hisoka kurosaki- I do understand what you mean about Sasuke coming to terms quickly, but I hope after reading this chapter it explains it a little more. The reason why Sasuke isn’t leaving the village again is because he owes Itachi his life for all the crap Itachi went through to get them to stay in the first place. Also, Naruto realistically wouldn’t leave the village. He would just somehow talk Sasuke into staying. Naruto is too devoted to the village to ever become a missing nin. I hope I cleared some things up for you and if you do have anymore questions on why I’m progressing the way I am how I have no problem explaining it just give me an email =]

“Hey forehead girl did you hear the big news?!” a blond haired girl with pale blue eyes came running up to another girl with bubblegum pink hair.

Sakura looked at the blond girl curiously, “What are you talking about Ino-pig, I haven’t heard anything.” Sakura was the third original member of Team Seven alongside of Sasuke and Naruto. Since their genin days she had grown significantly; her boyish figure had turned leaner and curvier. Her hair was the same shade of bubblegum pink, but slightly longer just brushing her shoulders.

“It’s about Sasuke-kun, if the rumors are true he’s got a…” Ino trailed off loving the suspense she put the other girl in. The blonde haired girl had a sly smirk on her face as she saw the annoyed look on Sakura’s face, but didn’t reply further.

Sakura sighed knowing how Ino’s mind worked, and she knew that she would have to pull the answer out of the other girl. Sakura didn’t mind though, even though when they were younger she had an obsessive crush on Sasuke, now she only saw the boy as best friend, more of a family member. “Ino…” she started with a warning. She no longer loved the boy, but she still cared deeply about him.

Ino put her hands up in defense. She could she in Sakura’s emerald eyes that she was not to be messed with today. “Oi, forehead girl you’re no fun,” sticking her tongue out teasing. “Fine I’ll let you know what I heard. Some people came in the flower shop today gossiping and one mentioned that Sasuke-kun had a GIRLFRIEND!” She practically screamed the last word.

Sakura stared in shock. Then to both of their surprise she laughed not a small chuckle, but a huge roar of a laugh that sent tears to her eyes. When Sakura caught her breath she straightened her body and wiped the tears from her eyes, “Geez Ino-pig I think that is the funniest joke you have ever told me.” She was still panting a little from the uproar.

Ino stared at Sakura surprised from the unexpected hysterics, “I’m not joking,” she said with all seriousness in her face and eyes. “I really heard this, and from some very reliable gossips too,” she placed her hands on her hips and flipped her long locks over her shoulder. Ino was slightly annoyed that Sakura thought this was all a joke.

Sakura looked up at the girl and realized that she wasn’t joking, “…oh,” was all she could muster. She was a little hurt that Sasuke hadn’t told her, not that they were as close as him and Naruto but still this was a big deal. A glint of determination came into her eyes she grabbed Ino’s arm “We’re going to talk to Naruto first maybe he will know more. We need to get to the bottom of this.”

Sasuke walked down the market place with a hyperactive blond haired blue eyed girl… yes the rumors had been true and Sasuke indeed had gone and got himself a girlfriend. She was very beautiful with a dainty demeanor. Her skin was a creamy color that was speckled with brown freckles all over her face and arms. Her hair was the color of sunflower petals and it came down to her waist. She put an oversized red ribbon in her hair to hold back the bulk but her golden hair still hung loosely around her face. Her eyes were a dark blue that sparkled when the sun reflected in them. She was also very petite almost like a china doll. She didn’t wear any make up, she didn’t really need any. Currently this young lady was wearing a light blue yukata with pink cherry blossoms adorning the fabric. The obi tied around her waist was the same shade of pink as the blossoms with a gold hem. She clung to Sasuke’s arm as they walked through the streets. She had a dazzling smile on her face that could compete with Naruto’s.

“Sasuke…” she was about to continue, but she saw the far off look in his eyes. She had only been dating him for about a week, but she realized that he wasn’t that sociable. Sasuke looked down as the blond clung to his arm. She had just been talking a few minutes ago, but now he noticed she was unusually quite.

Sasuke stopped walking and looked at the girl. “Are you alright Reika?” he asked not showing concern in his face, but you could see in his eyes his true feels. Reika looked up at him and tilted her head to the side. It reminded him of the Dobe, but he let the thought leave him as soon as it came.

“I’m fine Sasuke-kun why do you ask?” That was one thing Sasuke really liked about this girl she was very polite, and he knew that he wouldn’t have a problem taking her places.

Sasuke looked indifferent but he said, “You got very quite I thought maybe you were upset.” Sasuke then started walking again with Reika following.

Reika’s face beamed with a beautiful smile, “No, I’m fine Sasuke-kun, but it seems that you care more than you let show.” Her smile turned into a soft one as she looked at the ground and walked. Sasuke was staring at her now. This girl had become really good at reading through his mask, or she was just blatantly honest.

Sasuke shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, “Hn” was the usually response he gave people. Sasuke saw a stand selling all types of flowers. He stopped and walked towards it buying a rather large sunflower know it was Reika’s favorite flower. The flower really did suit her. It was bright and bubbly to match her personality. He handed it to her not saying a word. He still wasn’t quite sure how to treat women, but this was definitely a start.

Reika took the flower and her smile reached her eyes this time. It wasn’t a bright bubbly smile, but a sweet endearing smile. “Arigatou Sasuke-kun,” she fingered the soft petals and held it close to her chest. She looked up at the sky seeing the blues turning into oranges and purples. “Oh isn’t it pretty?” she asked not really to anyone. Sasuke just watched her and nodded.

“It’s getting late, I should walk you home. You have work tomorrow.” Sasuke grabbed Reika’s hand and pulled her in the opposite direction leading towards the village part of town. She let herself be pulled by Sasuke and just nodded her head in agreement.
Reika lived on the slightly wealthier side of town. Her family was a well-known common family, but not in the ninja community. Hanabira Reika was not a shinobi herself, but she was always fascinated by the shinobi way. The Hanabira family and the Uchiha family had always had close ties, but those ties died a long time ago. Sasuke stood in front of the Hanabira district and nodded to Reika. It was her confirmation that she was now able to leave.

Naruto opened his apartment door expected to see an angsty raven-haired boy. His eyes grew wide when he was met with emerald and blue eyes. “Ino-chan. Sakura-chan, what are you doing here? Sasuke isn’t here.”

Sakura sighed and pushed her way past the blond into his surprisingly clean apartment. “You idiot we are here to see you!” Sakura said looking around Naruto’s small living room. Naruto stared at her quizzically with his head tilted to the side. “Honestly, are you not going to invite us to sit down?” Sakura asked in fake sweetness.

Naruto snapped out of his stupor and nodded, “Oh, yeah sorry come in take a seat where you like.” Naruto walked to the kitchen to get some drinks mumbling about how they had already let themselves in why they were acting all polite now was useless. Naruto came back with some iced tea for the girls and himself. “So, is there any reason you two are here? Because I’m sure it’s not to just visit me.” Naruto sat down across from the girls and started to drink his iced tea.

Ino was the first to speak, “Well, we thought you could give us more information about Sasuke.” She didn’t say anymore details about what she wanted to know, but she winked at him like he should know.

Naruto furrowed his eyebrows looking at the girls like they had two heads. “What are you talking about? Even if I did I haven’t seen Teme or even talked to him for more than a week.”

At that statement the girls looked very surprised, “You haven’t been hanging out with Sasuke?” Sakura asked concerned.
“Did something happen between you two that you want to talk about?” Ino joined in.

“No, I’m fine, we’re fine, but what do you mean? What did you want to know?” he was determined to find out what was going on with his Teme.

“Oh well…” Sakura fiddled with her fingers. She knew that something was going on between Sasuke and Naruto. She could see the possessiveness in Naruto’s eyes. She then realized that maybe this had been a bad idea.

“Sakura just spit it out already,” Ino said next to her. “He looks like he might bite your head off if you don’t.”

Sakura sighed. “Well you see we heard…well Ino heard that…sasukehasagirlfriend,” she said the last sentence fast enough that the blond boy almost missed what she said.

“What?” Naruto said confused. “You have to be joking with me or you guys just heard wrong. That ice bastard doesn’t have enough of a heart to get a girlfriend. Plus, Sasuke never had interest in them before. Especially after what happen…” Naruto realized that he had said too much. He shook his head and before either of the girls could say anything he continued, “Don’t even try I’m not going to tell you.” His voice was stone and his tone was final. The girls didn’t even attempt to ask. Naruto contemplated in his head about the last two weeks. ‘Well it could be possible. It could be payback, or he just honestly realized that it was all a mistake. But still it’s not like Teme to just rush off and get a girlfriend. Sasuke’s life mission was to avoid girls at all costs.’ ‘It means Naruto that Itachi said I can’t be with you. You aren’t female and you can’t have babies so I’m not allowed to fall in love with you or be with you’ Sasuke had said that too him before he had left him alone in the forest. Maybe this girlfriend had something to do with had he said. Maybe it was all to please Itachi and the elders.

Sakura looked confused, “You mean Sasuke didn’t even tell you?!” Sakura wanted to know what was going on with Sasuke. She grabbed on to Naruto’s elbow. “Come on we are going to have a talk with Sasuke-kun and figure this out.” She was even more determined than before.

Naruto felt his body being dragged out of his seat and forced his body to stop moving with Sakura’s. “I’m not going with you two,” he said firm in his decision. He had no motivation to go see that Teme especially if what was being said was true. He felt his heart clench as he thought of the possibility of Sasuke really having a girlfriend. “Please,” he whispered only loud enough for Sakura to hear.

Sakura let go of his arm as if she had been burned. The desperation in his voice scared her and she hated to see her fellow teammate in so much… what was that emotion? She looked closer at Naruto’s eyes to see something she didn’t expect, fear and pain. She nodded her head. “Fine, I’ll come back over later to let you know what’s going on."

Naruto hugged Sakura and whispered for only her to hear, “Thank you,” he let go of her and then walked the two girls to the door.

Sasuke was lying on top of his bed with his arm covering his face. Visions of a blond haired blue eyed boy flashed through his mind. He growled at the thought. “Dobe I’m trying to get rid of you not reinforce these feelings,” he said to the empty room. Sasuke sighed remembering the conversation he had with Itachi a week or so ago. He had mentioned that he was thinking about getting a girlfriend and Itachi decided to take matters in his own hands. Itachi went on ahead without him knowing and had a ‘chat’ with the Hanabira clan. This was not what he expected or really wanted because he had wanted to choose someone for himself. Itachi did do well with his choice, but it pissed him off how much Reika reminded him of Naruto. Sasuke knew his brother was just trying to help him out but he wished that he had consulted Sasuke first. He had to admit though she was very beautiful. Her name really did suit her Reika, meaning lovely petal. Sasuke knew that if he tried hard enough he could let this girl into his life and maybe even love her. At that thought Sasuke, “I was right! I’m not gay; I was just attracted to his personality,” Sasuke concluded. If his plans went accordingly he would have a future wife and have his helping hand in restoring the clan.
