The scroll

03) The scroll

Team Shino raced towards the gates of the hidden leaf that had just entered their view. They had been on the move for a week without much rest and were now heading straight to the Hokage tower.

“I hope that he´s alright,” Sakura muttered softly even though her hope was diminishing with each passing minute. Who knew how much worse Naruto´s condition was now than it was when they left.

Chakra was a strange thing, it affected the body and could make you stronger when stored and nurtured the right way, or of course make you sick, even kill you if tainted by a secondary source like a demonic presence or affected by a forbidden jutsu.

Naruto and the nine tailed had been sharing one body for 19 years… and their chakras were intertwined. Sakura didn´t want to see the lively blonde die, and she secretly hoped that Tsunade would give Sasuke whatever he wanted so that the raven would agree to save their noodle loving friend… and then she would ask Naruto out on a date.

She had been surprised to learn that her heart ached at the thought of losing the cheerful youth and the meeting with Sasuke only made it clearer that the Uchiha wasn´t worth waiting for… and the Naruto, sweet, funny, silly, loyal, honest and very lovable Naruto was a much better candidate to be her spouse.

“It is time,” Iruka told them before they entered the tower. “We will see how he is soon.”

The blonde Hokage was already waiting for them when the kikai using team leader knocked on the heavy wooden door.

“Enter!” They entered their Hokage´s office and bowed to their obviously grumpy Hokage. “You failed I see… and you´re too late.”

“Yes Hokage-sama, you could say that,” Shino said after noticing Sakura flinching at the disappointed tone in the older woman´s voice. They stared at their feet, embarrassed that they had let not only her but Naruto down as well. “Is Naruto…”

“We had to take action when you and your team didn´t return in time… We…we sealed his body in ice,” the Hokage informed them.

Six days had already passed since the sealing ceremony and Tsunade still felt like she had made the wrong decision, especially after her last meeting with Homura and Denzou who had laughed and joked about how they had laid the fox on ice. Their disrespectful behavior had angered her beyond fury and she had wanted nothing more than to bash their heads in… but she was the Hokage, and if she killed an elder she would be doomed to suffer the same faith. “What about the Uchiha?”

“We did find him, but he has conditions,” Shino told her.

“What kind of conditions,” Tsunade growled and already knew that she probably wasn´t going to like the Uchiha´s terms.

“He wants to meet with you face to face before he´ll give us his terms, Tsunade-sama.”

Hinata placed a hand on the smooth, cold surface, smiling softly at the serene expression of the man who was captured inside the ice. “I talked to Neji-nii today… he says that Tsunade has given him the responsibility over your team till you get back.” She studied the calm, never changing expression before kissing the frosty ice like she had done every day when she visited him.

“I miss you… It has only been a weeks and still I miss you so much it hurts. The city is so dull without you around to make people laugh,” the Hyuuga heir whispered and leaned against the ice. “Oh and Sakura-chan has just returned with Iruka-sensei, Kiba-kun and Shino-kun… I am sure that they have good news.” She coughed and she felt as if her lungs were filled with cotton. It was very unpleasant and she wondered if she was about to catch a cold from hugging the block of ice in front of her too much.

She hadn´t been feeling well all morning but she was pretty sure that it was caused by something as simple as the flu, or the fact that she hadn´t been sleeping well ever since Naruto had been sealed inside the ice. She missed him terribly, especially because she imagined his naked body moving against hers; claiming her, marking her, loving her, whenever she closed her eyes.

“Hinata?” Sakura´s voice was way too soft in the Hyuuga heir opinion but she couldn´t really blame the young medic. It wasn´t easy to see Naruto like this no matter how much he looked like an sleeping angel trapped inside a glacier. “I´m sorry, we returned home too late to stop this from happening and we failed… I failed to bring Sasuke-kun back… ”

“…” Pale eyes locked with emerald green orbs. “Oh.”

“Tsunade-Hime wants to send out another team soon…I hope that I will get another chance to bring him back here.”

“What do you want me to say?” Hinata asked in a not too gentle manner, she was fed up with being nice. A nice girl wouldn´t be able to bring Sasuke-kun back or free Naruto-kun from his cold sleep. “Do you want me accept and forgive that you screwed up and forced the Hokage to do this to Naruto-kun?”

“…I don´t want you to say anything,” the surprised medic gasped at the raven haired girl´s aggressive behavior. Hinata was usually so gentle and shy; this surely was a new side of her that Sakura hadn´t known existed. “I just-”

“You wanted to make excuses for your lack of determination. If you really want to help then make sure that Tsunade-sama will pick you as a member for the next team instead of whining to me about it.” Hinata then walked past a speechless Sakura and left the room.

“…What happened to her?” the pink haired Jounin muttered before she stepped closer to the ice block to apologize to Naruto even though she was pretty sure that he couldn´t hear her.

Tracking down the Cloud nin was a piece of cake for the sole survivor of the Uchiha clan. The Cloud nin were sloppy and left a trail from where they had attacked Naruto´s team to their hideout in the lands between the former country of the Rice and the country of Lightning. Why they hadn´t returned home Sasuke didn´t know, and frankly he didn´t care, all he wanted was to find out what jutsu they had used on the Dobe.

He approached them, not caring to hide himself of his chakra when he walked right into the cave where they were hiding, like a mouse hiding from the cat´s watchful eyes.

They were brave at first; not knowing who he was but then they spotted the Uchiha fan on the back of his white gi. It was amusing; really it was, to see them back away from him in fear. His reputation had spread wider than he had expected and it pleased the raven more than he wanted to admit openly.

Fear was good, it made people do things they usually wouldn´t do, like voluntarily tell him everything he wanted to know including handing him the scroll that harbored the forbidden jutsu they had used on the Dobe.

He smirked grimly after he skimmed through the scroll, oh yes Konoha would definitely need his help and this scroll to repair the damages that had been inflicted upon the Kyuubi´s seal, and it made his position in this situation even better. Sasuke could now blackmail the Hokage into giving him anything he wanted if she really was set on saving the Dobe´s life along with all of Konoha…the contents of this scroll told him everything he needed to know.

The Cloud nin had the jutsu fucked up because they hadn´t completed it before they had stabbed the blonde jinchuuriki and forced the Kyuubi to try to heal him. This along with the effect of the jutsu had messed up the host and the demon´s chakra coil system. Sasuke realized that Naruto must be in great pain and that Konoha might have more than just a little bit of trouble to control the Dobe.

The jutsu was very complicated and if these idiots hadn´t been so foolish to attack Naruto they would now have full control of the demon.

But noooo they had to poke around with their weapons after the jutsu had cracked the Kyuubi´s golden cage open; not enough for the demon to escape but enough for its chakra to mix with Naruto´s which was now poisoning both host and demon and would eventually kill them both if Sasuke didn´t use this scroll in combination with his bloodline to fix it… doing this would of course give him control over the hot host, and his Sharingan could tame the Kyuubi which sounded really, really good in the raven´s opinion.

The smugly smirking Uchiha looked at the five nin who weren´t sure what they should do. They looked like they were torn between attacking him and making a run for it, and Sasuke decided that he would make the decision for them.

He couldn´t let them escape; they had earned him a lot of trouble by hurting the Dobe. They were forcing him to choose between letting Naruto die, or return to Konoha, the place he hated with a passion… there were a lot of good things about this situation too but they didn´t have to know that. Sasuke was selfish and vengeful, and they would pay for hurting the Dobe and for changing his plans for the future.

The raven haired avenger finished them off quickly and without making too much of a mess, he just hated it when his clothes or skin got tainted with the blood of those who weren´t worthy of his time. Blood was sticky, it smelled bad and it was a pain to wash out of his white gi, no breaking their necks or scaring them to death was so much easier.

The scroll was quickly tugged away in one of his pouches and he left the cave after going through their bags to see if they had any useful scrolls. There wasn´t much of value except from a piece of jewelry that caught his eyes. He couldn´t resist taking it, holding it up against the light of the descending sun to enjoy its beauty.

It was an earring; a gemstone that had been shaped and polished into a tear shaped drop hanging from a silvery hook. It was beautiful craftsmanship and the clear blue gem fascinated him, he just had to take it with him… the Cloud nin had no use for it anymore anyway.

Sasuke summoned a crow as soon as he was a few miles away from the cave. He scribbled a coded note on a piece of paper and ordered the bird to deliver it to Sakura since he didn´t know the current Hokage, and he knew that Sakura would be in Konoha by now, and that the girl was somewhat trustworthy and informed her where he was heading next.

Kakashi and Shizune returned to Konoha the next morning. It had been a long mission and they were looking forward to a few days off. Konoha was oddly quiet when they walked into the city which was strange because everything seemed to be like always.

The chuunin guards at the gate, playing cards to pass the time, the busy merchants calling out to possible customers to buy their wares instead of someone else’s, children playing hide and seek, shinobi having lunch at Ichiraku´s… Suddenly it struck Kakashi what was missing; there was no Naruto shouting for a refill even though he usually would be at the noodle shop at this time a day.

The copy nin shrug it off, Naruto was probably on a mission. The blonde loudmouth was an ANBU captain now, always busy to turn the world into a better place. He smiled beneath his mask when he recalled how much the brat had grown since the time when Naruto had first become his student now more than 7 years ago. 7 years… had it really been that long since the genin team had been on their first mission together?

A lot had happened in that time and Kakashi was proud of the blonde nin who had started out to be the shortest and least skilled of the three genin that Kakashi had been asked to train.

´Look at him now, ` the silver haired man thought happily. ´All grown up and stronger than most of the people in this village. A sanin, an ANBU captain and he is taller than even me. He has surpassed all of his teachers, the Akatsuki and hopefully even…` Kakashi didn´t want to think about Sasuke because there were just too many bad memories connected to the Uchiha name, especially because he still blamed himself that Sasuke had left.

´I wasn´t strong enough, determined enough to make him see that revenge isn´t sweet, but bitter and will bite you in the ass. Poor kid… I wonder if he´s even still alive? ` He knocked on the door to Tsunade´s office and opened it when he heard her voice. “Hokage-sama, we are back.”

“I want to be on the team that will go on that mission!” Sakura´s voice barked and subdued Kakashi´s voice. The pink haired medic was angry and the Jounin wondered what kind of mission could be so important to his former student that she would get this riled up just to be allowed to participate.

“Sakura, we will talk about this later, I have a meeting with Kakashi now,” the Hokage growled and pinched the bridge of her nose.

“…I won´t give up on this matter! He sent that note containing his whereabouts to me because he trusts me more than you,” the young woman hissed before she left the room, slamming the door shut behind her.

“…What a persistent girl,” Tsunade sighed before she turned her attention to Kakashi. “Welcome back… where is Shizune?”

“She is at the infirmary; her chakra was running dangerously low after we had to heal some chuunin down at the gate who had taken their sparing a bit too far into the extreme. She asked me to tell you that she will report to you later.”

“Aright…So how was the Kazekage?” the busty woman asked and Kakashi noticed instantly that she was trying to hide something from him, though he wasn´t sure what or why. The woman had the tendency to drag things out when she had to tell you some bad news and he wondered what was wrong.

“He is fine. We found the ones who tried to hurt him… They were from the hidden Cloud but we caught them before they could do any real harm. They had this scroll on them… or what is left of it. Gaara got more than a little bit angry and crushed the nin who had this scroll… and well the scroll got partially destroyed ,” the copy nin said and handed her a scroll that Gaara had allowed them to take after he had made a copy of it. “The Kazekage thought that we might be able to learn something from what is left of it and said that we should warn Naruto about it since the jutsu it contains seem to be targeting jinchuuriki and their bijuu.”

Tsunade paled visibly when she studied the remaining scroll. She was so shocked at what she saw that she didn’t hear a single word that Kakashi told her about the mission after that. Gaara had been right, this scroll was created, not to kill the Bijuu or its host, but to gain control over… well she couldn´t read the rest but it was more than enough to make her feel a shiver run down her spine. It was a forbidden jutsu for sure and they had a really big problem on their hands. “Kakashi… I want you to go home and get as much rest as possible. I will call upon you soon; I need you to go on an S-Class mission for me, highly classified.”

“…Alone?” the silver haired nin asked and a suddenly very bad feeling washed over him. He realized that Naruto must have been attacked by the Cloud, just like Gaara and that the blonde hadn´t been as lucky as the redhead had been.

“Pick out 2 or 3 Jounin or ANBU that you can trust with your life... and allow Sakura to come along as a member. No one will hear about this mission that I want you to take, not the council or anyone else. This is a matter of life and death.”

Sasuke lay on the bed in his rented hotel room, studying the scroll again for the tenth time. A satisfied smirk was planted on his pale lips while his bright mind worked on creating the best was to repair the damage that this jutsu was bound to have caused to the Dobe´s body. It wouldn´t be much use to have control over a body that he couldn´t enjoy or use as he seemed fit because it was injured.

He wasn´t quite sure what he wanted to do with Naruto once he got him, though there was one or two things that came to mind that he wanted to try out. The Dobe wasn´t bad looking and he surely could find a better way to use that big mouth of his other than talking.

Sasuke wondered what is would be like to see the Dobe kneel in from of him, to have those marvelous blue eyes looking up at him while the soft looking lips closed around the tip of his manhood and rubbing the flexible tongue against the sensitive head…Sasuke suddenly sat up and groaned.

Where the hell did that just come from?

Though… the idea was nice and what guy didn´t like a good blowjob? And who knew, maybe he would claim more than just the Dobe´s mouth. The blonde might hide his body beneath his baggy clothes but Sasuke was pretty sure that he had evolved into a nice specimen of a man… just imagine the taunt muscles that must ripple the tanned skin after years of endless hours of hard training…Sasuke mouth watered at the inner picture that made him imagine a naked Naruto standing in front of him. ´I hope he looks just like this in real life, ` he thought and rubbed his palm against the tent that had formed in his pants.

It had been years since he had seen the Dobe naked and they had been nothing but mere children back then. The Uchiha rubbed his hand against his strained erection and bit his lip to stop the moan that threatened to escape his throat when he recalled how good the Dobe had looked, how appealing, tempting… and how god damn hot he had been the last time that they had run into each other.

The Dobe had indeed grown into a fine young man, very attractive and graspable even though his taste in clothes still sucked. Sasuke wondered if he could convince the blonde idiot to wear a kimono, yeah an orange and black kimono would surely look stunning on the Dobe.

Pale fingertips traced the smooth surface of the tear shaped earring that the raven had snatched from the Cloud nin, he had modified the jewelry into a pendant that would fit into a necklace that now hung around his neck while his other hand slipped beneath the waistband of his pants and boxers. He brushed his fingertips along the hard shaft and groaned when he rubbed his thumb teasingly over the sensitive head, smearing the precum over the tip.

Stroking himself painfully slow he lay back on the bed, closed his eyes and fantasized about Naruto touching him, teasing him, pleasing him.

“A-Ah N-Naru-” He grunted before he soiled his boxers with his cum. Panting for air after one of the best orgasm he had had in quite a while he smirked in satisfaction.

´Hm maybe saving his life will give me more than the final fulfillment of my revenge, ´ the smirk on his lips widened at the idea of getting the opportunity to see the Dobe naked again soon.
