Chapter 3
Law & Order SVU; The Uzumaki/Uchiha Chronicles Ch. 3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Temari and Shikamaru found themselves looking up at a very tall, very swanky apartment complex. The construction was clean lines and angles, painted white with what looked like floor to ceiling windows that looked like mirrors; probably looking into the living rooms of the individual apartments.
“Well, he obviously didn’t get in through those.” The blonde woman said looking up at a room sized window. “I can’t see those being able to open.”
“That doesn’t mean there aren’t other windows.” Shikamaru stated as he slowly rolled his head to the side to look at her. “Let’s get this over with.” he said after a moment of silence.
Temari just shook her head and followed him through the door. “Always the optimist.”
A man in his late forties sat at a small desk inside the building and stood up at their approach. “Excuse me; this is a private residence…”
Temari flashed her badge at the man. “Detective Sabaku, this is detective Nara. We’re here investigating a rape; are you the security?”
The man nodded and came around his desk quickly. “This is about Sai isn’t it? God that poor kid, he never did have it easy.”
“What do you mean?” Asked Temari as she raised an eyebrow.
The man before her gestured to a room off to the side. “I’d rather not talk about his out here.”
Shikamaru and Temari looked at each other before following the security guard into the small room.

Tsunade exited her office, approaching the two male detectives on her way passed. “What do we have so far with this case?” She asked as she perched herself on a random desk.
Sasuke looked up and then opened a file that was in front of him. “So far we know his rapist has long hair… he said he felt it.”
“It might not be...it could have just felt like hair.” She said with a raised eyebrow as she snatched the file. “Two perps? That’s a stretch don’t you think?”
“Sai said he was very hesitant and paused in his speech, reason to believe he was being coached.” Naruto took a sip of his coffee and could feel himself draining of energy even with the caffeine.
“Fine, if you’re going to suspect two people then you better have a hell of a lot of evidence to back that up.” She stood up and started the trek back to her private office. “Uzumaki; my office, now.” She said as she continued to walk.
Naruto looked at Sasuke wearily before following his boss into her office. “What’s going on?” he asked her as she motioned for him to close the door.
“Sit down Naruto.” She said in a serious tone as she followed suit and sat behind her desk. “We have a bit of a problem… I’m sure you know what this is concerning.”
Naruto sat in the chair across from his boss’s desk and just nodded. “About staying late…”
“All night, Uzumaki; I don’t care if you stay late, just don’t jeopardize your safety and your partners with sleep deprivation, understand?”
Naruto closed his eyes and nodded. “It won’t happen again.”
“It better not; if it does, it’s desk duty for you. Now go on.”
The blonde stood and headed out the door quickly, heading back to his desk and his lover. He noticed the quizzical look on the dark haired man’s face and just shook his head. “Let’s go check out the boyfriend. Did you get an address?”
Sasuke nodded but ignored the blonde’s lack of response to his silent question. “Lives a couple blocks from Sai.” He said as he and the blonde headed out together.

Shikamaru surveyed the security room as the guard handed them each a water bottle. “So, did you see anyone come in last night that looked out of place… maybe someone you’ve never seen before?”
“Not when I was here. I start at eleven, you’d have to talk with the guy before me; name’s Kabuto or something like that; creepy kid.”
“Why do you say that?” Temari asked as she joined Shikamaru across from the guard.
“There’s this guy… probably his boyfriend or something the way they are with each other. He always drops the kid off for work and picks him up too. Sometimes he goes upstairs, like he knows someone that lives here. But the guy creeps me out more than the kid.”
“What’s his name?” Shikamaru asked slowly.
“How should I know… like I said, I get there around eleven when he’s leaving. I really should be getting back out there.” the man said as he stood up.
“Fine, but we’ll need Kabuto’s address and all the tapes that were recorded from your system from a month ago to today.” Temari said quickly as she too stood up.
The guard nodded and went about to do just that. “No problem.”
Shikamaru pulled Temari aside to talk to her in with a bit more privacy. “So, the kid lets his boyfriend have a bit of fun with the tenants; namely Sai.”
Temari shook her head. “We can’t come to that conclusion yet. For all we know, the guy really could live here.”
The security guard headed over to the two detectives once more with a box of tapes and a piece of paper in hand. “Here are the tapes and Kabuto’s resume. I hope you find out whoever did this.”
Shikamaru nodded. “We hope so too. Thanks for your help.”
With that the two detectives left the building and headed back to headquarters.

Sasuke stepped out of his car on the driver’s side and waited for Naruto to climb out of the passenger’s side before approaching the apartment complex. It was smaller than the one Sai lived in but not any less elegant.
Naruto shielded his eyes as he looked up at how tall the structure was. “Not that big for this area.” he noted as he felt Sasuke stop next to him. “Are we done after this? I really think we should talk.”
“Let’s not worry about that now. Wait ‘till we get home.” Sasuke said with an almost smile as he gave his lover’s hand a quick squeeze before letting go again and striding up to the front door of the building. He stopped at the panel of names off to the side and found Hatake easily enough before pressing the button.
Both detectives heard the voice of what seemed to be a man who had either just woken up, or was just about to fall asleep. “Yes, who is it?”
“Detective Uchiha and Uzumaki, we’re here in regard to Sai, we just want to ask you a few questions.” Sasuke stepped back a bit and after hearing the buzz from the door, promptly opened it and stepped inside, Naruto right at his heels.
They made their way up the elevator and once they found the correct door, Naruto knocked gently and didn’t have to wait long for the wooden barrier to open.
A rather tall man with shocking silver hair that seemed to go every which way and an expression that matched his earlier voice on the intercom stared at the two detectives with the utmost seriousness. “Good afternoon detectives.”
Naruto surveyed the man and figured that this guy was either very good looking for his age or he dyed his hair that color; no old man could look that young. “May we come in? We just have a few questions regarding your boyfriend.”
Kakashi raised an eyebrow. “He told you that I was his boyfriend?” The silver haired man shook his head. “Wishful thinking, kid.”
Sasuke looked puzzled. “He’s not your boyfriend.” he said as more of a statement.
“Nah… he’d like to think so… He’s been fascinated with me ever since he started the Music History class.”
“Why, are you in the same class?” asked Naruto as he took out a notepad, just in case something crucial came up.
“More or less… I’m the professor.”

XD review please!!!!!! I know these chapters are kind of short, but I’m trying to make it feel like the show and I know the show takes frequent pauses with characters. I’m trying to make them long enough to be substantial, but they are coming fast XD
