Chapter 30: Mine and Kisho

Kushina, Ryu, Iruka and the others were sitting on the cold floor outside Naruto´s room. They could hear the cries of agony and they prayed to any god that would listen to make things to be over soon and end well as none of them liked the idea of their friend´s suffering.

“Don´t worry lady Kushina. Sakura is one of the best medics in the world… she will take good care of him.” Iruka reassured the weeping woman who was hugging her youngest son.

“I know… but I just can´t bear… that he´s in pain… he has suffered so much already.”

“Yes he has… and I know of someone who will suffer later as he is missing out on this… Damn Kakashi… where are you?”

“This way lady Tsunade. Kakashi and I will bring you and your team directly to the hospital.” The toad-sanin called as he reached out to the approaching Hokage.

“Jiraiya? What the f*** is wrong?” Tsunade panted. She her team of medics and ANBU had traveled as fast as possible and actually managed to get to Kakashi and Jiraiya´s position(which was about ten hours away from Oto-gakure XD) within six hours – which was a new record.

“Naruto has gone into labor.” Kakashi explained. “The Kyuubi showed herself in my sleep this morning and told me that she wouldn´t be able to hold on much longer. I didn´t believe her at first but I still went to see Jiraiya about it. We immediately knew that she had told the truth as Naruto´s contractions kicked in and we decided to come and get you. We have set up transporter marks each mile from here to the hospital that way we´ll be able to warp you there within minutes instead of hours.”

“Enough with the explaining Kakashi... let´s go and help our young friend.” Jiraiya told them as he grabbed Tsunade and a random medic… who just happened to be a female and disappeared. Kakashi nodded and grabbed the remaining two medics and disappeared right after he gave the leaf ANBU captains´ directions to the new city of the Sound.

“Congratulations you two, today on the seventh of November you have become the proud parents´ of a healthy pair of twins,” Sakura cried happily as she handed the second baby to her assistant. “They both seem to be at perfect health… here Sasuke-kun, do you mind holding your cute little daughter while I make sure that your son is at perfect health?”

“Yeah I can hear that they have their mother´s loudness,” the Uchiha chuckled happily as both of his children screamed at their lungs full capacity. He held his beautiful daughter while Sakura examined the baby boy with a happy smile on her lips. The little blonde girl looked up at her father with her coal-black eyes and cooed at him which melted the Uchiha´s heart.


It filled him with pride and an immense amount of happiness swept through him as thoughts of watching Naruto and his children grow up… now he really felt like a father.

“Let´s see… ten fingers, ten toes… and one additional digit… yup one healthy baby boy who looks a lot like his mommy with his pretty blue eyes,” she giggled “Naruto… you made it… everything is gonna be fine now.”

“Naruto look. We have a beautiful baby boy and a cute girl, who- …Na-Naruto?” Sasuke poked at his lover who didn´t respond. “Naruto? H-Hey… Naru-… Sakura, something is wrong with Naruto!” The whiskered female was gritting her teeth and her face was twisted in pain… she didn´t seem to notice that Sasuke was talking to her at all.

“Oh shit... Haruno-san… she´s bleeding all over the place,” one of the medics informed them as he tried to stop the bleeding.

“No Naruto… please don´t do this to me… Medic, get Sasuke-kun out of here,” Sakura ordered as she concentrated her green chakra in her palm; ready to heal the blonde´s female form and desperately trying to stop the massive internal bleeding.

“Sakura! What is wrong with Naruto… why is-” Sasuke cried as one of the medics grabbed him and dragged him towards the door.

“Otokage-sama you have to wait outside-”

“No the hell I won´t!” The Uchiha hit the medic in the gut and returned to his spot beside the now unconscious blonde who had turned back in his male form as he had to be conscious to keep up the jutsu… and as the Kyuubi was out of chakra, she wasn´t able to help either… she couldn´t heal her kit who was bleeding to death from internal wounds as the labor had been to much for his body to bear.

“Oh crap, Sasuke, you can stay but only if you stay out of my f***ing way. Haruki-san, give me a hand here – we need to open him up to stop the internal bleeding and remove the blood which is threatening to fill his lungs with fluid and drown him. Kisuta-san, get the babies out of here… let the nurses look after them and return here to assist me!”

“There will be no need for that. I´m gonna help you from here Sakura-chan!” Tsunade told her with a serious voice as she and the leaf medics stormed the room. “And Sasuke get the hell out of here. Go see your kids and let us save Naruto… you´ll only be in our way.”

“But Hokage-sama, I-”

“You can walk out of here or I´ll kick you out… What will it be? Do I have to waste precious time on getting you out of here… time Naruto doesn´t have…? I promise you that we will do whatever we can to save him.” Tsunade yelled at him.

The Uchiha shut up instantly as she mentioned Naruto… she was right... he was only going to be in their way… and so he left the room… but not without looking one last time at the his unconscious husband on the table; bleeding heavily while Sakura, Tsunade and the other medics did whatever possible to save his most precious person… his beloved husband, soul-mate and the mother of their children.

Sasuke was greeted with a crowd of worried faces and a ton of questions from worried friends and relatives who stared at his bloodied hands, face and gi.

He had tried to help in anyway possible, which meant he was asked to hold the bloodied towels and remove more of Naruto´s clothing which was moist from the blood and sweat… he had been covered in his husband’s blood up to his elbows and some had even tainted his face as he had to wipe away the tears that had streamed from his coal-black eyes.

Kushina had passed out which caused Iruka to take care of the redheaded woman as Ryû seemed too shocked to do anything but to stare at the blood that covered Sasuke. Iruka seemed incredible calm and in control of the situation which worried Kakashi… as the brunette would surely have a nervous breakdown later.

The teacher was a great help as Gaara had to take care of Kira who tried to get into the room to help Naruto though she knew she couldn´t.

Gaara had to take her outside for some fresh air as the stress was bad for her pregnancy…. while Kakashi had to take care of Sasuke who was shaking all over and was as pale as Orochimaru.

The crimson blood on his pale skin and white gi looked eerie and the silver-haired nin decided to help the raven to wash up as everyone was thinking about the worst case scenario as long as Sasuke was looking like a walking bloodbath.

He turned to Kankurou and Kiba who looked lost. “Oi boys´ would you mind doing me a favor?”

“Sure, anything you need Kakashi-san,” the puppet-master answered with a shaken voice.

“I need you to go to Naruto and Sasuke´s house. I want you to feed Aya and grab some clean clothes for Sasuke-kun… bring some for Naruto-kun as well… all his clothes are ruined… will you do that for me?” Kakashi asked.

“Of course we will!” Kiba told him. He grabbed Kankurou´s wrist and left the hospital to help in any way possible as just standing around and wait was creeping him out… it gave him too much time to think… and the thoughts which roamed his mind wasn´t pleasant ones.

“K-Kakashi… Am I… am I gonna lose him?” The Uchiha mumbled as he was forced to sit down on a chair in an empty examination room while the older nin collected some hot water in a bowl and towels as well as bandages for the shocked Otokage.

The silver-haired nin had noticed that Sasuke´s hands and wrists´ looked bruised… it was probably Naruto who had been squeezing his lover´s hands and lower arms pretty hard while giving birth to the twins.

“N-No of course not. You know Naruto… he´s our number one knucklehead shinobi and the one who makes the impossible… possible. He´s not a quitter… he loves you and your kids… if anyone can pull this off… it´s Naruto.” The copy-nin told him. He grabbed the Uchiha by the shoulders to reassure him that he really believed that this was the truth.

He was more than happy as Kankurou returned with some fresh clothes for Sasuke only a few minutes later. The two older nin helped the raven into a clean pair of black pants, a grey fishnet shirt and a dark blue gi.

As they returned to the others who had gone to the waiting-room everyone seemed to feel better though they still looked worried and heart broken. Ryu seemed to relax as Sasuke entered the room; all clean and holding his son while Kakashi held the baby girl.

The fact that the twins were healthy and that Sasuke was allowed to bring them here seemed to lift the dark mood.

Everyone was allowed to see and hold the twins while Kakashi told everyone about his and Jiraiya´s absence earlier. Iruka forgave him immediately and even hugged and kissed him for bringing Tsunade here so fast.

Three long hours later:

Sasuke was sitting on a comfortable couch in the waiting room. The twins were cooing in his arms while he watched in silence as Iruka paced the room as he didn´t know what to do. He had helped Sasuke to feed the twins an hour ago and there was still no word about Naruto´s condition.

Kira was sitting next to Sasuke… trying to show her support though she too was still overwhelmed by fear of losing her best friend.

It wasn´t the best place for her to be, because of her pregnancy… but she couldn´t leave before she made sure that Naruto was alright.

Kushina and Ryû where sitting on a couch opposite of Sasuke; Ryû was resting his head on his mother´s lap; sleeping while the worried woman played nervously with his blonde hair.

Kiba, Kankurou, Gaara and Kakashi was scattered around the room; either sitting on the floor or leaning against the wall.

Jiraiya had volunteered to pick up some fresh coffee, tea, soda and food as he couldn´t stand to sit around anymore.

Sasuke was worried out of his mind but he knew it wouldn´t help anyone if he lost it… he had to be strong. He was the Otokage, an Uchiha… a father and a husband… he had to pull it together… at least till he knew what would happen to Naruto.

Jiraiya soon returned with two bags filled with food and something to drink. He had bought some cute little outfits for the twins and two plushies´ as well; a blue dog and an orange fox.

“Awww so cute,” Kira said with a small smile as she held the plushies´ up so that everyone could see them. The little gifts seemed to divert the worried thoughts to the cute twins and on what Sasuke and Naruto were going to name them.

“It´s a secret,” the Uchiha told them. “We want to keep it a secret till we can take them home. Naruto wanted to name them when we walk into our garden… he´s always so… thoughtful about things like that… such a caring person… I… I love him so much,” he whispered with a sad smile while kissing his infant son on the forehead.

None of them really felt like eating and where grateful that the toad-sanin had also picked out cookies, fruit and sweets instead of just sandwiches and stuff like that.

“Sasuke-kun?” Sakura stepped into the room which made everyone stand up and walk towards her.

“Naruto… is he alright?” everyone asked nearly at once.

“He´s gonna be fine. He has lost a lot of blood and both he and the Kyuubi will need a lot of rest… Sasuke-kun, you can see him now if you like.” The pink-haired medic told them with a soft smile.

Everyone in the room let out sighs of relieve and cheers of joy. Sasuke handed his children to Iruka and Kira and followed Sakura out of the room.

“How do you feel?” She asked him as she led him to Naruto´s room at the ward.

“… I´m the fortunate one… I didn´t have to go through it.”

“Yes you had… it was just a different kind of pain that you had to go through… it´s alright to feel fear of losing those you love… if you ever need to talk about this… I´m here… for both of you.” She told him. The young woman hugged him and after a few seconds he hugged her back.

“Thank you… you are the best Sakura-chan.”

“Don´t mention it… now go… he needs you, Sasuke… Oh and he might look like shit… but he´ll be fine… and Kyuu-chan will be back to her old self in a couple of days… Naruto should be able to go home with you within a week or so.”

The Uchiha entered the quiet hospital room. Only the steady beep of the machines that counted Naruto´s heartbeat was to be heard in the small room.

“…Naruto?” he whispered though he knew that the blonde was heavily medicated and probably sleeping. Sasuke walked up to his Dobe´s side and ran a hand thought the messy blonde hair.

“Don´t you ever scare me like that again you hear,” he told his husband with a trembling voice. Tears of both joy and unreleased fear began to run down his pale cheeks as he kissed Naruto on the forehead. “I wouldn´t be able to go on living without you by my side… even with the twins… Naruto… you are my light and my hope… don´t ever leave me.”

He dragged a chair up next to the bed and sat down on it; holding the tanned hand that didn´t have a needle in it and just allowed his tears to fall unhindered as he suddenly realized how close he had been to lose the only person he truly cared about.

Sure they had build a new home here at Oto-gakure, they had a good relationship to their friends in Konoha and Naruto´s family… but they were all here because they loved Naruto… they had only befriended the Uchiha because he and Naruto were inseparable... because Naruto loved Sasuke with all his heart.

“Dobe… please get well soon… I need you by my side… I love you.” he whispered against the tanned skin as he kissed Naruto´s hand. “You still need to meet our children… our beautiful blonde baby girl and our dark-haired baby boy… you have to name them with me… there is so much for us to live for… but I can´t do it without you.”

Two days later:

Sasuke hadn´t left Naruto´s side as Kakashi, Gaara and Kira had watched over Oto-gakure for the last couple of days. The blonde healing had been speeding up since last night which indicated that the Kyuubi was strong enough to heal her host.

Naruto was still unconscious though this was about to change.

The Uchiha stirred in his sleep as something tickled his nose. A playful chuckled reached his ears as the tickling continued.

Sasuke opened his eyes and the first thing he looked upon was a pair of tired yet sparkling blue eyes. He had fallen asleep again… his head and shoulders resting against Naruto´s bed while sitting in the chair next to the bed.

“N-Naruto?” the raven-haired nin darted up from his chair and nearly fell on his ass as his legs were buzzing from sitting in the same position too long.

“Morning Teme,” the blonde chuckled lightly. He was still sore from the operation and his entire body ached. “Has anyone told you that you look cute when you sleep?”

“Dobe,” Sasuke said with a smile. He got up and sat down on the bed next to the blonde and kissed him. “God am I happy to hear you voice. Please don´t scare me like this again… ever.”

“I´m sorry… I guess I wasn´t as strong as I thought.” The whiskered nin told his lover. “Are the twins alright?”

“They´re fine… oh god Naruto… you were so brave and strong… and the twins… they are so beautiful. Your mom thinks they look just like us.” The Uchiha told him as he continued to kiss and gently hug Naruto. “I was so scared… I thought that I would lose you… I love you so much.”

“I love you too Teme… I would never leave you… I promised to stay with you forever remember… and you know how I always keep my promises.” Naruto told him. Sasuke leaned back and looked at his Dobe with a loving smile on his lips.

“I know Naruto… I know.”

“Sasuke?”

“Yeah?”

“Can I see the twins?” the blonde asked.

“Sure, Iruka and your mom are looking after them. I´ll ask them to stop by so you can see our little miracle babies.”

“Sasuke… can I have another kiss before you go?”

“Sure… anything for you koi.”

“Well hello gaki… how nice to see you awake and well… how are you this morning other that being devoured by you husband?” Tsunade asked with a chuckled as she entered the room where the blonde boy was being kissed passionately by his Teme.

“… We´re fine,” growled the Uchiha as he wasn´t happy to be disturb during their make-out session. He wanted to show his blonde just how much he loved him and how dearly he had missed him.

“I´m fine Baa-chan,” the blonde chuckled which made him groan in pain from the still sore scar on his belly as he tried to sit up straight.

“How is the Kyuubi?” The Hokage asked as she shoved the Uchiha of the bed to examine her gaki.

“Kyuu-chan is a bit cranky and really tired… but other than that she´s fine too. She tells me that I should remember to praise you, Sakura-neechan and the Teme for your help during the labor. I agree with her; thank you.” He told her as she examined the scar on his stomach.

“… No need to thank us. You have helped us out on a numerous occasions… and we love you.” She told him with a warm smile. “Well, you seem to recover perfectly… you might get a scar on you lower stomach…”

“That´s alright… I want this one to stay… as a reminder of the miracle of life.” Naruto said.

“Yes indeed. Tell you what, why don´t I go find Iruka and Kushina and ask them to bring your lovely children to you. You two will have about five minutes till they get here.” She giggled and left the room so they could continue their prior activities.

Four minutes later:

“Naruto?! Oh kami you are finally awake.” Iruka cried as he, Kakashi, Kushina and Ryû entered the room. “How are you?”

“I´m fine, thank you,” the blonde said with a smile. The Uchiha was leaning his back against the headboard of the bed so that the blonde could rest against Sasuke´s strong chest.

They all hugged him gently before Ryu crawled onto the bed and sat next to his Aniki and Sasuke; also leaning his back against the headboard. Kakashi handed Naruto his son while Ryû held the baby girl.

“… They are so small… so fragile…” the blonde muttered softly as his son looked up at him with huge blue eyes. Naruto failed to breathe as his son reached up with his little arm and wrapped his tiny hand around Naruto´s index finger.

The twins weren’t pre-mature… in fact they were almost at the same size as a baby normally would. Their weight was around 3200 gram(3,2 kg) each which was quite good for twins. The babies were lively, curious and like their mother… constantly hungry and had a huge appetite.

“Oh god… he´s so cute… Sasuke look… this… is our… son.”

“I know… he looks just like you Dobe.” The Uchiha chuckled as he helped Naruto move their son so he could hold their daughter as well.

“Just look at her eyes… She has your eyes Teme,” Naruto marveled at his daughters dark eyes… she looked so much like Sasuke… she had his slim face and rather serious expression on her beautiful face while their son took more after Naruto with the mild expression and somewhat rounder face.

None of the twins had any signs of the Kyuubi´s interference though Sasuke wouldn´t have been against if their children had whisker-marks like Naruto.

“Hn but she has your golden hair… they are so beautiful… both of them.” Sasuke said happily as the twins cooed at their proud parents.

“… We are parents… I-I am so happy… we´re a family Teme… a real family.”

Sakura chuckled as she just had to take this picture of the smiling parents and their cute twins. This was a day that neither of them would ever forget as it was filled with sheer happiness.

One week:

“Friends and family. Thank you for all your support and love,” Naruto told the crowd of all their friends and family members as Sasuke finally had been allowed to take Naruto and the twins back home to the mansion.

“This is the first time that our twins see their future home and we thought that this would be a perfect opportunity to tell reveal our children’s names.” Naruto said as he smiled warmly at his Teme while carrying their twins through the gates which led to their beloved home.

Aya was circling around Naruto´s feet as she wanted to find out what this was all about. She had already been introduced to the twins and she seemed to accept them as her siblings. Naruto had nearly laughed his ass off as the young Kitsune girl had tried to bite one of the medics as he had tried to examine the twins.

Aya seemed very protective about her new siblings and would never hurt them… she even slept beneath their crib to watch over them… Naruto and Sasuke thought it was rather cute.

“What did you decide on?” Kakashi asked. He and Iruka had stayed at the Uchiha-Uzumaki household this past week. Someone had to take care of Aya and Naruto´s greenhouse after all… and Kushina and Ryû had spent all their time at the hospital… just like Sasuke, spending all their time with the healing blonde.

“Our son will be named Kisho,” the blonde said proudly as he kissed the boy who looked a lot like him… except for the spiky raven-black hair.

“And our daughter’s name will be Mine,” Sasuke said with the pride of a true Uchiha as he took the blonde girl with the coal-black eyes into his embrace. “… Kisho and Mine Uchiha-Uzumaki meet the world… world meet our beloved twins.”
