The Green Beast Of Konoha – The Uchiha Prepare a Comeback
31: The Green Beast Of Konoha – The Uchiha Prepare a Comeback
The cottage on the edge of town was comfy and cozy. You know what that means, right?
The kind of place that draws visitors and they all come, too often.
Though Itachi was glad to be home and glad that his brother and Naruto had returned safe, he was worn out from all the well wisher’s that had dropped by at Iruka and Kakashi’s and was hoping for a quiet time now. He was going to be sadly disappointed, however.
Also, he was not as comfortable with Hebichani as he was with little Koibito. The baby at six months was cuddlier than the two-year-old toddler. Hebichani didn’t really do the tongue thing and it seemed lacking in him. Itachi wondered why that bothered him so much.
The two men that returned with his brother and Naruto were set up in the guest room and Koibito was returned from Neji’s care. The family was settling and then came the knocks at the door.
First came Tsunade and Shizune to check on the sleeping man, then Asuma and his family to see how the two men had faired on their trip, and meet the young man that had returned with them. And of course, Lee had come to see Ranmaru. He didn’t bring his bride as their upcoming wedding had her very busy and the last week’s worth of preparations seemed the most important, so he visited with his sensei, Gai.
Itachi had sequestered himself in the baby’s room when Asuma’s child kept pulling on his ponytail and calling him the Red-Eyed-Demon. So, when the last visitors of the day arrived he was unaware. But Koibito was hungry so he took the baby out to find a bottle and was brought face-to-face with the Green Beast.
“Ahhh! Uchiha Itachi! I had heard you were here! Good to see you looking so healthy and vigorous in your Youth!”
Itachi just stared. The man had to be kidding. Bright Green with orange leg warmers? Itachi was no fashion consultant but he knew what looked ridiculous. And so, he clamped his mouth closed and nodded. He looked down at the fussing baby and smiled.
“He’s hungry.” He said, simply moving past the odd ninja and continuing on to the kitchen followed by the green clad man.
“Yes, you must be sure that a child has sufficient nutrients and plenty of healthy vitamins in their youth. It is essential to proper growth, so that they can become the best of their potential. What is this very healthy child’s name?” Gai asked following Itachi to the empty kitchen.
Itachi headed for the refrigerator, disappointed that no one was here to get the man off of him.
“Sasuke named him Koibito. Is there someone you were here to see?” he asked, sorry about the lack of tact but still unused to some of the constraints of society from his days as a villain. “They are probably up in the guest rooms with the two from the curry shop.”
“No. I merely accompanied Lee to see his friend. I am unneeded in the visit. Am I unneeded here also.” And Itachi turned quickly. The statement seemed to be spoken in the man’s usual blunt and excited manner, but Itachi heard such loss in the words. He stared at the man as he held the bottle in one hand and the baby in the other. Itachi was not a man of many words so he stepped forward and handed the baby to Gai, adjusting his hold and placing the bottle in his other hand.
“He will grab it in a very odd manner, I hope you aren’t squeamish.” And Gai stared in awe as the tiny child snaked his tongue out and pulled the nipple into his mouth.
“Amazing!” was all Gai said.
“He is not completely unique, but none of the other’s do that. Naruto encouraged him, and it has become his trademark move. Why are you here?” Itachi asked.
Gai looked up from the baby and smiled, though unconvincingly. “I had no where else to go. I am off of missions while my shoulder heals from a close call I had. I just felt a need to be among people. Do you understand that?” Gai said.
“No, but that is my problem. I have to get him a change, I’ll be right back.” He said, as he hurried from the room. Of course, he didn’t understand. Itachi spent most of his time avoiding people, but why? He was in deep introspection when he passed the door to the guest room and heard the voices from within.
“Thank you, Lee-san. I am so glad that you understand. I must be with my special person, even if no one understands. But it is good that someone does.”
“Yes, I understand. I have finally become brave enough to be with my special person, also. It can fill a heart with longing to no longer be alone. I would hate to be without a special person, to love and share with.”
“Naruto, I’m going to check on Itachi and Koibito.”
“Itachi is fine, Sasuke. He is almost as good of a mother as you are. Stay here and visit with us.”
Itachi smiled at the last comment as he opened the baby’s door and went for some supplies. ‘He was a good mother’ now there is a thought. The most feared member of the Uchiha clan being a ‘good mother’. He hurried down the stairs, followed by the other comments, about special people and being lonely. ‘I am not lonely. Just because I don’t have this special person, I don’t need one.’ he thought.
Gai held the child exactly as he had been, but the bottle was empty and Koibito was beginning to fuss.
“Hold him to your shoulder and gently pat his back, not too firmly or you’ll be wearing his. . . . . . lunch.” Too late, as the most exuberant ninja in town managed to pat out a healthy portion of the baby’s meal all over his clothes.
“It is much stronger scented once the child has eaten.” He said. Itachi nodded, biting down on a smile. “Perhaps I should leave. I can’t stay here smelling of spoiled milk.”
“Go clean up, I’ll get you something you can wear and we’ll clean this.” Itachi said taking the baby and indicating the ruined vest and shirt. Gai smiled shyly and rose.
When Naruto and Sasuke came down stairs with their guests they found Itachi and Gai in the living room, talking as Gai held the baby once more, and they all stared.
Gai was not in his vibrant green suit, but instead had on one of Itachi’s black shirts and a deep maroon vest over some khaki pants. He looked normal.
“Gai. I see my brother is entertaining you. Sorry we took so long upstairs.” Sasuke said, announcing their arrival.
“Yea, Gai-sensei. We didn’t mean to forget you.” Lee said, looking around in embarrassment.
“I don’t see how anyone could forget Gai. But he and Bito have become good friends while you were busy.” Itachi said, his eyes cold.
“You have a very wonderful child, Sasuke, Naruto. I hope to see more of him. I have never had a chance to spend time with children of this age. They are quite difficult aren’t they?”
“Sometimes. Did something happen?” Sasuke asked.
“Koibito spit his lunch up all over Gai’s clothes, and I think they may be clean now. I’ll be right back.” And Itachi went to retrieve the laundry.
“That explains the new look, Gai.” Naruto said. “You should consider it a baby blessing. You look hot in that, and it’s one of Itachi’s favorites, I’m surprised he lent it to you.”
“He said it was just something he found in a drawer. I didn’t know . . . . .” Gai began, and Naruto smiled.
“Yeah, he would. Hey, why don’t you two stay for dinner? It would be nice to hang out for a while longer, as long as you don’t change back too soon. I don’t think I could eat if you wear that green thing again, right now.”
“I er, I suppose I can stay. Are you sure, Naruto?”
“Yes, Gai. It would be our pleasure. But if you are staying, Naruto will have to help me in the kitchen. So, could you help Itachi with the baby a little longer?” Sasuke added.
“I’ll help too!” Lee said, but Naruto and Ranmaru grabbed his arms and dragged him out of the room.
“No, I think you should come with and keep Ranmaru company. He came all the way here, but not for babysitting.” Naruto said, as they crossed the doorway.
Itachi returned with the pile of neatly folded clothing and looked around. “Where did they go?” he asked placing the clothes on the low table before the couch.
“They invited Lee and I to dinner and went to cook.” Itachi turned to the door and raised his eyebrows.
“All of them? All of the sudden? I see.” And he reached for the baby. “He needs to go to bed. Do you want to come with?” he asked as Gai climbed to his feet.
“If I wouldn’t be in the way.”
“Nonsense. Come on.” And he led the way up the stairs.
After dinner, the two guests left and Ranmaru went to bed. Naruto and Sasuke sat on the couch sipping tea and talking about the day, Itachi sat near, his tea untouched and a frown on his face. Naruto nudged Sasuke and they turned to the other Uchiha.
“Aniki? Is something bothering you?” Sasuke asked.
“No.” the older man answered.
“Are you sure, Itachi? You look upset.” Naruto explained. “We wanted to talk to you about something important, but if you have a problem we can talk about it first.”
“I’m fine!” Itachi responded.
“I see. What did I do, now?” Sasuke said.
Itachi looked up and glared at them.
“You are mad that we invited Gai and Lee for dinner. That’s it, right? You think we meddled in some way?”
“Did you?”
“Maybe. We thought you had made a friend. It seemed like a good idea to encourage it. You need to make some good friends. They help keep a person sane.”
“Is my sanity in question, still?” Itachi countered.
“Not any more than anyone else’s. But I love you, and I want you to be happy. You can’t just sit around here playing with my babies forever. I want more for you.”
Suddenly Itachi looked confused. His brother had said something important and he knew from the look on Sasuke’s face that he had missed it.
He reviewed the words.
“Babies?” he asked.
“Yes. That is what we were going to talk to you about. I am going to do that jutsu. And we are going to have another baby. We wanted you to know.”
Itachi looked from one face to the other. He had gotten used to his brother becoming the only female Uchiha, had even watched him go through the change a few times. But he had not realized that this was the eventual result. “You are going to hold it for that long? How?”
“We have perfected the recycling of chakra and it isn’t wasted. I can do it.” Sasuke said, “and I want to.”
“So, we revive the clan this way?” Itachi asked.
“I do. I don’t know what you will do, Aniki. Do you have a complaint?”
“No. Do what you want. I’m going to bed.” And he rose to leave them.
Itachi paced his room, frustrated by the strange urge in his lower gut. He heard the sounds of his brother and the Uzumaki going to bed, but he couldn’t sleep. He looked into the long mirror on his wall and glared at his own reflection.
What did women see in him? He was too tall, and too lanky.
His hair was his one redeeming feature in his opinion. It was long and as now when released from the tie, it was soft and flowed like a waterfall. He knew he had the prettiest hair in the village, with the possible exception of Sasuke when he used that strange jutsu. Itachi turned and looked again. He viewed himself from the rear, and stretched his backbone to it’s fullest.
“Hmmm,” he said to himself. “I wonder if I could, . . . .”
He had been there and his Sharingan had caught all the needed signs. He lifted his hands and concentrated as he did the Jutsu and thought about what he considered perfection in a form. He felt himself transform and opened his eyes.
Staring back at him was a long and shapely form, breasts not too large, and hips not too curvy. She was as naked as the day she was born and the long flowing straight hair was all that covered her form. The soft patch of dark curls that decorated her lower region drew Itachi’s attention and she wondered how she had been able to replicate what she had only seen once or twice in life. She reached her hand to explore this and was rewarded by a rippling sensation and she quickly drew her fingers away.
“I need to know if this is right.” She said, peeking out the door and sneaking down the hall to the laundry to find one of Sasuke’s dresses.
Neji shifted in the bed and rolled over. Shikamaru lifted his arm and waited until she was comfortable again before lowering his limb and wrapping it around her once more.
Neji opened her eyes and looked up into the sleeping face of the Nara Jounin. He looked so peaceful that Neji smiled, just before smacking him up the side of his head.
“Wha-at? What’s wrong, Neji?” he asked as the Hyuuga rose with some difficulty and headed for the door.
“I have to go to the bathroom.” Neji announced as she closed the door behind her. Shikamaru watched in shock.
:::Pregnant women go through many phases. They have distinct mood swings.
I recall that every time I looked at the father of my children and noticed that he was comfortable and relaxed while I felt awkward and ungainly, I just felt the need to whack him one. I truly only acted on this during delivery, which left him with several Anna inflicted bruises. But never enough!
Marielle – Low blood sugar is a serious condition that affects many humans, even one’s that are not pregnant. It scares the shit outta me cause I have known people to turn into their own version of Shukaku when they reach a level of sugar loss that is mind altering.
Gaara would never get that bad.
Vashta – Sasuke has barely scratched the surface of his new ability, and the only way I’m going into all of it is if this does go epic. As for Gaara, he is fully female at this point he just looks like Gaara. He was too pretty to begin with, and kept his body as undeveloped as possible. The villagers do not know. I think they would freak. Sand villagers are just about as panicky as the Leaf ones.
This could very easily go forever if I don’t cut it. I am not sure I can devote that kind of time to it, so we’ll see.
