chapter 32
hiya back with an update.
Thanks to my very awesome beta reader, whi is beta reading this story despite being sick, love her to bits for it.
LadyRonin: Hehe glad you saw the humor in it, needed some one to go a bit crazy of the girls and seeing as nobody (or at least what i have seen) made ino go completly crazy i though i would. =) yes you are right they have been separated for several weeks now, it will most likly be sword they will fight with seeing as i have given Naruto a sword he got from his father. yes there will be some sort of interaction between the Momochi and Naruto, dunno yet how to get to it though but it will be there either in the next chapter or the one after that.
well must say it was a bit hard writing this chapter, hasnt been in a mood to write so gone quite slow.

Chapter 32
Both Ino and Sasuke stared at the blond boy who stood frozen at the top of the stairs staring back at them, Ino could not help but give Naruto a grin telling him that she had now branded Sasuke as her own even though she physically had not.
Sasuke was not sure what to do, had Naruto heard everything? The guilt was overwhelming and yet the feeling of anger and disappointment towards the blond boy prevented him from moving towards him.
“Sorry didn’t mean to interrupt your lovers quarrel” Naruto said in a cold voice and turned around and disappeared down the stairs.
Part of Sasuke wanted to run after the boy and stop him but his body would not move, it was like his heart was telling him that he needed to run after Naruto but the logic in his head was telling him to sort his own feelings towards the blond first.
“Sasuke look at me” Ino demanded, she was not going to give up just yet. There was obviously something going on between the two lovers for Sasuke not to run after him.
“Piss off Ino” was all Sasuke said as he gave Ino a glare which even sent chills down her spine, leaving her petrified of him. Sasuke had gotten the movement back in his body, the raven haired boy closed the door behind him and followed the blond boy not sure what he was going to do when he reached him, leaving Ino alone outside still petrified of Sasuke. He had given her some hard looks over the time they had know each other but this glare was different, it was like he only needed one more push over the edge, to the forbidden side of life which would result in her death.
Naruto was walking down the street unable to focus on anything, he was surprised but yet not surprised at the same time. He had kept Sasuke in the dark for over a year about who he was and he did not expect the raven haired boy to forgive him at all, he was surprised to see the small flicker of happiness when he noticed him. But he was the one thing Sasuke hated; of course Sasuke would move onto some one else.
“Naruto?” The blond boy looked up and met the dark eyes belonging to Haku.
“Haku” Naruto forced a smile onto his face.
“Something wrong?” the dark haired boy could easily tell something was wrong with the blond boy, also noticing he did not have his sword with him and the absence of Gaara. “Where is Gaara?” he sighed “didn’t we tell you not to wander around on your own, it’s too dangerous.”
“I told him not to come … in case Sa…” He broke off; he really did not want to tell him what he had just stumbled into when he went to the flat. Haku could see the sadness in the blond’s eyes even though he was good at hiding it and he sighed again.
“Naruto” the blond boy stopped when he heard the familiar voice of Sasuke, Haku could see the blond boy’s body tense up.
“Well try not to wander off alone, it’s too dangerous right now.” Haku put a hand on Naruto’s shoulder telling him that he was going, laving the two boys alone. The blond boy looked Haku in the eyes pleading with them to not leave him alone with the raven haired boy. “You need to talk about it sooner or later, just like you need to talk to Momochi.”
Naruto knew Haku was right but he really did not want to be in the same place as the raven haired boy right now, he was not even sure if he was able to look at him.
“Sasuke” Haku greeted the raven haired boy before leaving them alone. Sasuke greeted Haku with a nod, he was to busy trying to catch his breath.
“Naruto …” *pant* “Can we” *pant* “Talk?” Naruto did not answer, he still stood with his back to the boy.
“Please” Sasuke pleaded, walking slowly towards the boy.
“What is there to talk about?” Naruto asked in a low voice as he felt Sasuke’s presence drawing closer.
“Everything” Sasuke said stopping in front of the blond boy, who still refused to look at him, which was understandable, he had hurt the blond boy just as he had hurt him.
“Everything, huh?” Naruto sighed.
“Why? I mean I sort of know why but…”
“Then why ask if you know?” Naruto finally looked at him
“Because I need to know Naruto … I need to know what’s behind those eyes” Sasuke looked Naruto in the eyes, they were just like the first time he had seen Naruto break down. The blue eyes scared him, the happiness, joy, sadness, anything resembling any sign of life was gone, and they were more like empty shells than anything else.
“You already know, I’m part of the Yakuza, I run the group that drove your brother to kill your parents. There isn’t anything else to say.”
“There is plenty to say Naruto, don’t think you can just brush this off as you do everything else.” The raven haired boy said.
“No there isn’t, you slept with Ino for god sake. I never thought you would be the type of person to revenge yourself, and if I want to brush it off I will brush it off!” The blond boy was angry, he knew he did not have any right to be but he could not control his emotions anymore.
“I didn’t sleep with Ino, and least of all out of revenge. I just …” Sasuke could not remember anything after the bar “I was drunk, too drunk for my own good. I don’t remember sleeping with her; all I remember is waking up in her room only dressed in my boxers. I didn’t … I wouldn’t … at least I think … I am so bloody confused, help me understand” Sasuke pleaded.
“I … I” Naruto sighed, he could not run any more no matter how much he wanted to. He loved the raven haired boy, but the past was still something he would prefer to keep to himself. “Sumiyoshi-kai was my father’s family … I used to hate him, hate myself. I believed that because of who he was he killed our family, leaving me behind.” The memories of the day they were killed appeared in his mind. “I only saw the bad side of the Yakuza, trying my best to sever all ties with it, removing the part of me that belonged to my father. But Momochi was right, I can’t erase a part of me that makes me who I am … Momochi and Haku are my family even though they are Yakuza, without them I have … nothing.” Naruto paused a little “I chose to enter the group because it was the only way I could protect my family, I already lost them once and I was too helpless to do anything about it, there is no way I will let that happen again.”
“But the Yakuza are murderers Naruto, there are other ways.”
“No you’re wrong; they are just like any other human. They have families just like any other, people they want to protect. That’s what Sumiyoshi-kai is, it protects its family, it is what my father did and my mother and my brother all felt the same. Even looking down the barrel of the gun they still did not hesitate, they did not regret … they accepted death. I was the only one too stupid to realise. Sure we do illegal stuff but my father never killed anyone unless some one threatened to kill our family, self-defence. Everything done now is Orochimaru’s doing.”
Sasuke only looked at the boy as he spoke, he spoke with such pride. It was strange, the boy had seemed so broken but now he was different.
“My father wanted to protect what was important to him; the Sumiyoshi-kai was his solution. I will not run anymore, I will take my father’s place from Orochimaru and continue protecting this family.” He looked at Sasuke in his eyes, it hurt so much knowing he would not get the answer he hoped for; he was not even sure why he hoped for it, asking Sasuke the next question.
“We have reached a cross road in our path, I have already chosen which one I have to take. Now it’s your turn, can you still love me, now that you know what I am?”
Naruto had finally grown up; he had finally accepted who he was. But it still hurt like hell knowing he had to leave behind the one person he had allowed to pass the wall, the one person he loved.
Sasuke was not sure what to do, he had been given the reason and he knew the blond boy had made up his mind. The memory of his family meant everything to him; Momochi and Haku meant everything to him, the longing for his own family crept up in his chest.
“I … I d-dunno.”
