{Ri}:(sarcastic tone)Uh-huh, just because you're college is limiting the time you can spend on the computers now doesn't mean you can't update.

{T.W.}: If I did update quickly the chapters would be short and disjointed!

{Ri}:Excuses, excuses.

{Sai}:(walks in and looks around)Hey where are Itachi and Kyuubi?

{T.W.}: They left to avoid the birthing scene. You feeling better?

{Sai}: Not really, I was planning to torment Itachi into apologizing.

{Ri}:(perks up)Torment how?

{Sai}:Where as little as posslble and tell him hands and all other body parts off.

{Ri}:(snickers)That's evil.

{Sai}: I thought you'd approve.(turns to T.W. and whines) T.W. I can't torment hi if he's not here!

{T.W.}: I'll see what I can do to get him back here Sai but I doubt Kyuu'll come with him.

{Sai}:(pouts)Why not?

{Ri}:T.W. needs foxy for inspiration in another fic.

Chapter 39

Naruto sat nursing Kaji and Arashi and watched as Sasuke cradled Hikari and Mikomi, making very un-Sasuke like sounds. 'Those girls are going to be so spoiled.'

You'll be doing plenty of the spoiling kit.

'It's about time you showed up.'

What does that mean?

'I've been home for a week. I was expecting you to put in your two cents sooner.'

Aw did you miss me brat?

'It was peaceful, not having you butt in every few seconds but I guess I did, kinda.'

I feel so loved. I wanted to tell you something about the kitlings.

'And that is?'

Well they'll have the same enhanced senses you do but unlike you they can't pick and choose when to use them so they'll seem to notice things that no one else can catch a trace of.

'Why do I get the feeling you don't approve of the fact that I don't use the enhanced senses unless I'm on a mission.'

Because I don't. Those senses are a gift and you don't use it. If you did you wouldn't get taken by surprise nearly as often as you do now.

'I have my reasons for not using them.'

Yeah, you've wanted to seem as normal as possible but if you don't learn to accept your little extras, then you'll make your kits feel insecure about theirs.

Naruto's eyes widened as he felt Kyuubi retreat to the recesses of his mind while the point smacked him in the mental face. The blond looked down at his nursing sons and over at Hikari in Sasuke's arms. 'Oh damn, the fluffball's right.' Naruto closed his eyes and let the restraints he kept on his senses go. For a few moments it was a bit of sensory overload then, he adjusted to the assault of smells and sounds. He opened his eyes and saw Sasuke looking at him worriedly. He smiled and made a slight gesture that ment he'd tell the brunette later. Sasuke returned to cooing at the girls. Mikomi reached out a hand and grabbed a hank of his hair, tugging.

The Uchiha grimaced and tried to extricate his hair from his nieces grip, unsuccessfully. Naruto began to chuckle then outright laugh at his husband's predicament. Kaji and Arashi finished nursing and Naruto laid them down in their cribs and went to help Sasuke. He gently took Mikomi's hand and opened the little fist before taking her in his arms and murmering nonsense to her. Sasuke eyed the amused expression on the blond's face, "I fail to see the humor dobe."

"Well you didn't see yourself, holding two babies while trying to get one to let go of your hair," Naruto mimed yanking his head to one side and laughed. The Uchiha dearly wanted to say that he hadn't looked so ridiculous but knew that protesting would just make him look like more of a fool.

"Hn."

"Damn it!"

Naruto looked up from bathing Mikomi and Hikari at the virulent curses that rang from the nursery. 'Sounds like Sasuke's having trouble with something.' Naruto finished rinsing the girls off, wrapped them in warm fluffy towels, and went into the nursery to see what was happening.

As he entered, he saw Sasuke standing at the changing table looking down on Arashi, "Now don't do that again Arashi so I can finish changing you okay?"

Sasuke peeled back the diaper and had manged to throw it away when a little stream shot up from where Arashi was lying and splattered all over Sasuke's shirt, "Not again!"

Naruto laughed as Sasuke layed the fresh diaper over Arashi and he realized that Sasuke kept getting peed on when he tried to change the boy's diaper. The splattered brunette glared at his laughing husband before turning back to his younger son, who was looking up at him with what Sasuke could swear was a mischevious twinkle in his eyes.

Naruto stifled his laughter, set the girls down in their cribs for a moment, and went over to help Sasuke, "Teme, as soon as you get the diaper off, throw a wash cloth over his erm...personal area so that he won't pee on you. Then you move fast to clean him off and get the fresh diaper on. It just takes practice."

Sasuke raised an eyebrow at Naruto's using the term 'personal area' instead of penis but turned back to attempting to change his son's diaper determinedly.

Naruto watched from the corner of his eye as he dressed the girls in their pajamas. The Uchiha managed to get the diaper on successfully without being peed on again, although the tabs were a little crooked. As he stepped back, Naruto came over, "Why don't you get cleaned up and I'll finish getting them ready for bed."

Sasuke grunted and moved off to the bathroom.

Naruto straightened the diaper tabs, dressed Arashi, and settled each infant in their crib. Then, he turned on a CD player and the soft strains of a lullabye began playing. The triplets dropped off into sleep almost immediately but Mikomi squirmed and fussed, stubbornly refusing to allow the music send her to sleep. Naruto smiled and went to her crib and gently stroked her hair until her eyes began drooping despite her best efforts to keep them open.

"Go to sleep little one, there's time enough to take on the world tomorrow."

Naruto's prescence combined with the music to convice Mikomi to follow her cousins into sleep.

Naruto waited a bit before turning the music off and leaving the nursery. He entered his and Sasuke's bedroom and saw the Uchiha standing next to the bed in a pair of loose sweatpants, drying his hair.

"Good shower teme?"

"Hn."

Naruto chuckled, went to lye on the bed, and watched as a few rogue drops of water slid down the Uchiha's back, over the firm muscles that stretched and shifted with each slight movement.

Sasuke glanced over his shoulder and caught Naruto staring, "See something you want dobe?"

Naruto blushed at being caught but returned Sasuke's smirk reguardless, "Oh yeah. I'm just too tired to do anything about it."

Sasuke chuckled, tossed the towel into a collapsible hamper, and joined Naruto on the bed, wrapping his arms around the blond.

"It was a busy day."

And it had been, Neji and Gaara had left after visiting for a few days, Sajura and Choji had announced that they would be getting married in a triple ceremony with TenTen and Kankuro, and Ino and Shino as the other two couples, in addition there were strange rumors in Iwa no Kuni that Sai had been sent to investigate, and Tsunade had called Naruto in for a meeting. Put it all together with the normal rigors of being parents to four infants and it made for two very tired shinobi.

Sasuke began threading his fingers through Naruto's hair, "What did Tsunade want?"

"She want me to start training now so that when I start weaning the babies I can start taking missions again and she want to put you back on higher ranked missions. How the heck are we supposed to do all that and still be there for the kids."

Sasuke felt the tension in Naruto and murmered soothingly, "Take it easy Naruto, we can ask her not to send us on missions at the same time so there's still someone here with the children."

"But she said that there are some missions that will need both you and me, what do we do then?"

"Shhh, we'll hammer that out in the morning, for now we're tired and the babies will be crying for a feeding in a few hours so get some sleep. Everything will work out sooner or later."

Naruto wanted to argue but he knew that Sasuke was right so he let the brunette soothe him into sleep.

A loud cry from the baby moniter yanked them out of sleep for the third time around 4am. The single cry was soon followed but three others and both parent got up to soothe their children. Sasuke checked Mikomi and Kaji's diapers, picked them up and gave them each a bottle while Naruto nursed Arashi and Hikari.

Naruto yawned and watched Sasuke feed the other two, "When Ino gave me that breast pump I never thought I'd be grateful for it but times like this, when all four are hungry at the same time, I seriously consider sallaming that woman."

Sasuke eyed his husband before giving a noncommital grunt which made Naruto laugh.

"I know that you're not so appreciative teme. If Ino hadn't given me the breast pump you could keep sleeping while I fed them."

The blond looked out the window, "You know it'll be dawn soon."

"You want to finish last night's discussion don't you."

Naruto met Sasuke's eyes, "What can we do? I don't want to leave the kids with someone different everytime and Iruka-tou-san doesn't have room for four infants."

"Iruka?"

"Yeah, he's really the only one I would consider leaving the kids with regularly. Everyone else is too busy getting married or having their own kids to really take of ours and Baa-chan and ero-sennin drink too much."

"Where Iruka goes Kakashi eventually follows."

"Yeah I know, but despite his ...quirks, he is responsible and really the second less vice ridden of the people with enough time to look after the babies."

"Hn true."

Mikomi finished her bottle and Sasuke began the process of burping her while thinking over the possible solutions to the baby sitting problem.

By the time all the babies had been fed, burped, changed, and put back to bed, Sasuke still hadn't thought of a viable solution, though he had thought of more problems, such as how much more complicated taking care of the babies would get as they grew. Suddenly Naruto's head shot up from watching Hikari sleep and he whispered excitedly, "I've got it!"

He tugged Sasuke out of the nursery so that their talking wouldn't wake the babies.

"Got what usuratonkachi?"

"I know what we can do! We can ask Iruka-tou-san to move in here. The mansion has more than enough room for them and they'll be here all the time. I know that they've been wanting to move into a bigger place. This will solve all the problems!"

Sasuke thought it over, not only would it solve the problems but it would also be a way to get even with Kakashi for the way he'd been laughing at Sasuke lately. Sasuke smirked. 'Let Kakashi see how difficult changing a boy's diaper can be.'

"Naruto that is a perfect solution. You should go ask Iruka tomorrow and I'll watch the babies while you do."

'There is no way Iruka will refuse Naruto this and if Kakashi doesn't agree with Iruka he'll be taking cold showers for a month.' Naruto, too thrilled that Sasuke had agreed, completely missed the wickedly calculating expression on the Uchiha's face.

{T.W.}:(snickers) Sasuke's so bad. Speaking of the Uchiha, did anyone read chapters 358-359 of the manga, the wing OUCH! and I think Deidara has Itachi issues.

{Itachi}:Most people have issues with me.

{Sai}:Oh you're back.

{Itachi}:(looks at Sai and eyes widen at the open short black leather vest and shorts)So are you(smirks and reaches to run a hand down Sai's torso)

{Sai}:(smacks Itachi's hand away)Don't touch me.

{Itachi}:(major WTF look)What's wrong with you?

{Sai}: If you don't know, I'm not about to enlighten you.

{Ri}:(kicked back munching on popcorn and enjoying the show)

{T.W.}: Er Itachi?

{Itachi}:(glares at T.W.)What?

{T.W.}: Do you remember what you did the last time you saw Sai?

{Itachi}: I tried to throw a psychadelic plot dust bunny at you, he tried to stop me and...

{Ri}:Ah the dawning light of comprehension.

{Itachi}:(goes over to Sai and whispers in his ear)

{Sai}:(big shiny eyes at Itachi)You really mean that? You're not just saying it so I'll let you molest me?

{Itachi}:Yes I mean it.

{Sai}:(grabs Itachi and initiates a searing kiss)

{T.W.}:(nudges Ri) move over and share the popcorn, make up sex is always the best.

{Ri}:Un(moves over)You know I'm starting to think that shinobi are double jointed.
