Chapter 4
“Sasuke?” Naruto moved a bit closer to the tall person, for the second time their eyes met. Narutos blue eyes were shining like sapphire in the light of the sunset, Sasuke’s eyes were dark as they always had and were sparkling in the light. Although Sasuke’s appearance had changed and become more of an adult his eyes were still the same eyes that had smiled to him when he was little. His heart was beating faster now, unaware that Sauke had moved closer to him he snapped back in to reality when a familiar voice shouted “Naruto!” they both turned to see Lee come running up the, he stopped putting his hand on his knees panting “Sakura told me to give you this” Lee handed him a piece of paper containing some more notes for their film and media class. When Lee looked up again he notice Sasuke for the first time, unable to move he just stood there starring at the dark haired boy. “Hey Lee, long time no see” Sasuke said breaking the silence “Yeah it has been a long time Sasuke” he smiled now, Naruto was a bit worried it would have turned in to some awkward moment but it seemed to go well enough. Sensing the two boys had a lot to talk about Lee decided to retire from them “I’ll see you on Monday Naruto.” He nodded to Sasuke unsure of what to say to the boy since he didn’t know whether or not Sasuke attended the University.
Naruto was so nervous all he really wanted was to run away and hide, “Lee has changed a lot, his hair style has gotten better” Sasuke said breaking the silent with a small laugh “Yeah Sakura is responsible for that” Naruto said avoiding Sasuke’s gaze “oh, they are dating? For how long?” he asked the blond boy who was starring down at the ground in front of him “for 2 years now I think” Naruto spoke in a low voice. For the first time in 6 years after Naruto had realized why he always felt drawn to Sasuke, but he wouldn’t allow himself the pleasure of indulging himself in that feeling his heart wouldn’t allow him. “Naruto?” Sasuke looked at the blond boy who was beginning to shake; he placed a hand on the boy’s shoulder who quickly pulled away from the thouch, “I’m sorry” he said and ran down the street towards the subway station. He just had to get away, he couldn’t bear be near the other boy right now. The guilt of not being beside his friend when he most needed it was too great, he hated himself and with the anniversary of the death of his parents coming up he was more emotionally unstable that usual. He just needed to avoid Sasuke at all cost at least for a little while, once the week was over he could accept the harsh words that would come out of Sasuke’s mouth.
Back at the University gates stood a perplexed Sasuke, not quite understanding what hat just happened he looked up the street he had seen Naruto run up, his eyes had longing for the blond boy written all over them. But it didn’t really matter they had all the time in the world to talk again, Sasuke smiled and walked back to his room at the halls.
All of Sunday Naruto was looking over his shoulder in case they were to bump into Sasuke but no such think happened much to Naruto’s ease, Neji on the other hand was worried about the blond boy. He had heard the news about a certain boy named Sasuke appearing last night which he guessed had made Naruto so nervous. “Naruto you okey?” he asked the nervous boy. “huh? Yeah I’m fine” the blond boy smiled at him before he noticed one of the gaming halls and let out a small cry of joy “guys look” he pointed towards the game hall. Kiba smiled from ear to ear and ran towards it and stood jumping in front of the door signaling to the rest of the group to come, Shikamaru put a hand on his head signaling that this was making him use too much energy. “Ah come on” Naruto said and smiled before following Kiba.
The rest of the Sunday afternoon the boys spent in the gaming hall playing various game laughing and enjoying themselves, however unaware of the looks Naruto was getting from Neji, Naruto was only to happy of happy of having gotten some new friends. In Naruto’s mind he thought that he would be coped up in his room studying and not having much of a social life but thanks to Sakura, Lee, Ino and Kiba he did, and he silently thanked them for it.
When Monday came Naruto woke to his alarm clock going off, he moaned and slammed his hand over the snooze button. He tried to fall back to sleep but couldn’t so instead he got up and headed for the shower. As soon as the hot water hit his face he felt comfortable, the warmth cover his entire body making all his muscles relax. After the shower he dried himself off putting on his blue tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt before heading to the kitchen to make himself some food, ‘what to make for breakfast’ he wondered as he came closer to the fridge only to stop and stare at the calendar hanging next to it. ‘4 more days’ he mentally added the note in his mind; suddenly he had lost his appetite and the though of going to university didn’t appeal much knowing he had a class with Sasuke. He leaned his head against the fridge when he though about their encounter 2 days ago, he had been such a coward. He wanted Sasuke more that just as a friend, it had been the last year or so he had realized that the feelings for Sasuke had grown in to something more that just friends, but he could live with it since he wasn’t around. Not everything had changed, Sasuke was there in the same room as him, and he had even stopped to talk to him. “6 years” he said to himself, that’s how long he had liked him. His self-loathing was interrupted by a knock on the door, he took a deep breath and buried his feelings deep within himself and walked towards the door.
Sasuke turned up to class a little earlier in order to get a hold of Naruto before class, but he didn’t expect the blond to show up early. From the way he was acting 2 days ago he was sure the blond boy would avoid him at all cost. The dark haired boy watch as the other students in the class entered the room but Naruto was no where to be seen, Sasuke let out a small sight and entered the class room. He scanned the place to see where everybody was sitting, for some reason they were all crammed at the back of the lecture theatre. Sasuke tried to remember where Naruto was sitting and when he found it he sat down, hoping the blond haired boy was just being late. Kakashi entered the quiet class room “well then shall we begin” he said and dimmed the lights a little in order for the student to see the projector better. Sasuke wasn’t really paying attention what Kakashi was talking about, he was occupied with looking at the door hoping the blond one would enter but he didn’t show. Nor did he show for the entire day, Sasuke was getting a bit worried. Sasuke was never the person to reveal his feeling to the world, he would never loose his cool or better judgment but when it came to Naruto he was different, 6 years he had though of the blond boy. The disappointment when he didn’t show to say goodbye was still very strong within him. “Sasuke” a female voice said from behind him when he stood in line for the checking out in the library, he turned around to find Sakura standing behind him. “Ah Sakura” he said in a low voice. She smiled at him as he was being called to the desk to get his books checked out, they both walked out of the library in to the main hall “So how you been Sasuke?” she finally asked after a long and awkward silence “Not bad, doing a bit of traveling” he answered scanning the room to see if he could spot Naruto. Sakura could sense his absentness “Looking for Naruto?” she asked even though she didn’t have to because she could tell, she had become pretty good at reading people. “hn” was his only answer which she could remember from when they were small, since Sasuke would only have a conversation with Naruto when they were small. “He won’t be coming to uni this week” she said quietly, “Why?” Sasuke asked. “Sasuke something happened a year after you left” Sauke didn’t like the tone of voice she was using to tell him “It’s not my place to tell you, you have to ask Naruto yourself” she took out her note book and wrote something down before tearing the paper out of the book and gave it to Sasuke. She smiled at him before taking off to her next class, Sasuke looked closer to the not she had just given him it had an address written on it, to be more specific Naruto’s address.
Well I think I manage to finish this chapter, hope you enjoyed.
