Chapter 2
11pm
Deidara flopped down on the grass. He was tired. Out of clay. And being watched. Hidan walked out from behind the clump of trees. He looked like a ghost in the moonlight. Deidara sat up almost immediately.
"So, that's how you make your clay, huh?"
Deidara almost fell. He had been watching him the entire time?
"I don't make the clay. I change it."
Hidan grinned. Deidara wished he wouldn't. His grin made the bones in his face stand out, giving him a vampiric look.
"looks like you're out of real clay, though. need any more?"
Hidan looked at the boy, trying to find a good way to refuse. But he couldn't. Clay. It was in short supply...
"Well, if you don't want it..." sighed Hidan, getting up.
Deidara got up quickly "oh, no, I do, but where is it?"
Hidan smiled. The kid would learn to toughen up soon enough. He just needed some help.
"Follow me. I'll take you to it."
Deidara followed obediently, wondering why Hidan was being so nice. Taking him to clay. Oh well. Best not to contradict him, he thought, otherwise he might get mean again.
After about half an hour of trudging through thick undergrowth, they reached a peculiar rock fall. It was hollowed out in the middle, forming a cave.
"Well, here it is!" said Hidan triumphantly.
Deidara stepped into the cave gingerly, feeling quite nervous as Hidan stepped in behind him. Something wasn't right. This cave didn't smell of clay. Just rock. And there was a pole coming out through the floor of the cave. A huge crash sounded behind him. Deidara jumped a foot in the air from shock as Hidan stood by the blocked cave entrance.
"Hidan-sama, what's going on?"
Hidan laughed in a strange way.
"Hidan-sama?" Deidara asked nervously.
He barely had time to draw breath before cold metal was pressed against his neck.
"Deidara, you will do as I say, or this kunai will be pushed through your neck. Got that?"
Deidara nodded weakly as Hidan led him to the pole. He saw now that it had a rope hanging from it.
