Voices
Chapter 4
Genma leapt off the crumbling snow with ease. It was easy to travel here, just impossible to do anything. He could barely read weak chakra signatures so he had needed to send out shadow clones to look for Sakura. Why did they have to get held up?
A weak signal emitted from a tiny forest. It certainly wasn’t an animal’s energy. As Genma moved closer, he saw feeble wisps of smoke coming from a pile of twigs. And something more. His heart leapt with joy and sunk almost immediately. Sure, the pink-haired kunoichi was there, along with her partner, but both were soaked in blood. Sakura lay slumped over Kakashi, frozen tears glued to her cheeks. She had cast a genjutsu earlier, probably to keep animals away, but it was almost gone. Genma walked over to her, and gently picked her up, feeling her weak pulse against his neck. Kakashi was taken by a clone and they both hurried back. He couldn’t feel any chakra signature or pulse coming from Kakashi.

Voices. Soft, quiet voices. And footsteps. Warmth. Sakura tried to open her eyes, but the effort was too much. She let out a small moan. The voices stopped. Then began again. Someone shuffled beside her, writing. The voices became more recognizable.
“immediate oxygen replenishment was needed…”
“yes, she appeared to be suffering from anaphylactic shock…”
“no, Hatake-san hasn’t responded yet..”
“hypovolaemic shock? Yes, it appears to be so…”
A single voice seemed to rise above the rest.
“change her IV drip, yes, like that..”
Sakura mustered up enough strength to open her weary eyes.
“Tsunade-sama, Haruno-san seems to have woken up.”
A face swam into view above her.
Tsunade-shishō.
She was back in Konoha.
