Chapter 4 – Jealousy

The radio, she listen to a beautiful song, a song that made her crying so much, because it reminds her about what happened to her lately. Tenten wasn't doing her practice as normal, instead she wept alone in her room. Things turned so much worse for her team, not only that Lee was Neji's worst rival and enemy, he had become her enemy too.



Flashback



”Why Tenten!? Why him of all people?!” Tenten shut her eyes, not being able to looking at his eyes, his eyes whom were showed anger, pure hatred; she loved Neji, but his cold and violent attitude refused to let her in and she had been waiting for him, too long and painful. So her heart went for somewhere else, for wanted of feeling warmth and safe; Rock Lee. Neji's greatest rival.



Totally opposite character toward Neji, who was handsome genius ninja, but cold and stern, Lee who wasn't born genius, but was always cheerful, warm and hardworking ninja who never gave up his dream to be the best shinobi for future, only that he wasn't the most handsome boy, but he definitely proved that even bushy eyebrow-guy like him, could please his love. Burned of hatred and jealousy, Neji hissed; ”Tenten! ANSWER ME!? What does that ugly bastard really have like?! HUH!? You've never liked him, you're only using him for getting my attention! Isn't so!?”



Tenten glared now at his cold eyes and said: ”No.. you're wrong. I don't like him. I LOVE HIM! He knows what love is and he is not ugly, so don't you ever dare calling him ugly, Hyuga Neji!”



Neji suddenly burst in laugh, he couldn't't believe of what he was going through, his girl dumped him for the most ugliest rival, as he thought.



Rock Lee of all people, maybe he expected her turning to Shikamaru, Kiba or even loudest guy Naruto. But Rock Lee!? He couldn't't exactly remember when he ever was chased by girls? Nobody really liked Lee because of his odd looks, his green training clothes, his potty hairstyle and the buzzy eyebrows! And worst of all, he was Neji's great fighting rival, no matter how much he tried to convince Lee that it was useless, Lee never gave up and that's what makes Neji hating Lee even more.



But when Tenten gave up on Neji, he could hardly believe in his eyes or ears about it. He was devastated, no he was falling apart, he wants nothing but kill his own teammates. ”I hate you Tenten, you stupid bitch... You betrayed me... now die!” By using his gentle fist, he runs toward Tenten preparing for attacking her, suddenly someone got in his way, a huge kick smashed right in Neji's face. Tenten gasped; ”Oh my god! LEE?!”



”Neji... if you ever thinking about hurting her, you're dead...” Lee warned him, by giving him death glare, Neji just stood up, not noticing the pain Lee gave him, smirking: ”Heh! I knew that you would come in my way. Now let's fight, man against man, shall we Bushy Eyebrow?” And they started to punch and kick each other like wild animals, Neji with his juuken and Lee with all taijutsu power, while Tenten helpless were watching them, trying to ask them to stop, but none of them heard her.



Suddenly both of them were punched down on the ground. Maito Gai, their sensei did it and Tenten had never seen him so upset, that he screamed: ”WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!? Why are you two of all people trying to kill each other!? Haven't you both learned anything from Naruto and Sasuke?!” Neji suddenly stood up and snorted: ”Why don't you ask the whore.”



”The whore? Who's the...” Then he looked at Tenten, confused, then at Lee. He asked: ”What's going on? This isn't you Tenten.. I know you're honorable girl, there's no why you would playing...” ”Gai Sensei. It's true. I broke up with Neji, but only because he hurts me first!”



”She's lying! Don't listen to her!”



”What about you Lee? Is Tenten or Neji telling the truth?” Lee looked sadly at his sensei, but took a deep breath and said: ”I'm sorry Gai Sensei, but Tenten is telling the truth. I saw it with my own eyes. Before I showed up to save Tenten, I saw him beating her, ripping her clothes and...”



Tenten suddenly burst in crying: ”I... I'm so sorry Gai Sensei! I t-tried... to stop him, but...”



Gai looked then at Neji and all Neji showed was anger and hatred. And Gai was so devastated about his own students, they were all like his own children, he could never believe that they would hate each other so much and battle over Ten ten.



”Why Neji? Why did you do that for? Why did you rape her?”



”Hn.”



”What do you mean hn!? Don't you have any regrets? Do you have any idea of what you have done? I thought you were smarter than this, Hyuga Neji!”



”She asked for it. After all, she couldn't't leave me alone, when I wanted to, all she tries was seducing me...”



”That's not true and you know that, Neji!...” Tenten defended, while trying her best not crying, but it was hard and she screamed: ”I had never tried to annoy you! I'm not like Ino or Sakura! I took all trainings seriously!! I even become Chunnin first of all girls in our age in Konoha! All I wanted was to be your friend, your trust, you never had anyone who cared about you! You never hanged out with your family and... even Lee wanted to be your friend, no matter how much he tried to win, but he also cared! And Gai sensei... he always talked to me about you and about how much you trying to be as distant as possible and all we wanted is for you to be more open, just a little bit. We never asked much of you. All we wanted, was your happiness. But... you pushed us away. You're just kept getting yourself isolated. I didn't even know of what to do with you anymore! It's true that I loved you! I always will, but... I can no longer be with you... You're walking to the path I don't wanna follow...”



”Why you little wh..”



”Neji.. I'am so ashamed of having you as my student!” It was Gai's turn. ”You won't any longer coming with us on missions! Your disposed from our team! I don't wanna see you again and you better stay away from them, especially Tenten!”



”Fine, because I never need you guys anyway... and my so-called sensei or wait a minute. You had never been my sensei, you cared only about Lee anyway.” ”Neji...”



”Shut up Gai! You never cared a thing about me, NEVER! It was all about LEE here, LEE there! How strong have he become? How much youthful he is. Blablabla!”



"That's a lie! Gai sensei always cared about all of us!” Lee interrupt, finally standing up from the dirty ground.



”I may be sensei's favorite, but he cares about us all, and if was someone who pushed him away, was you Neji. You always looked down at us, you never wanted to join our trainings, you always were cold and moody. Like Tenten said earlier; we didn't know of what to do to help you! We tried everything we could, especially Ten ten! She CARED so much about you, she even trained with you more than she ever did with me, but YOU had to ruin everything! Not only that you raped her, you destroyed her trust and the real friendship we had! ” Everything went silent, not it was Lee's turn for shearing his tears. ”I had forgave you enough, but this one I can never forgive! From now on... you're my enemy.”



”Keh! Like I really care, because... I have already plans for my future and I don't need you guys any longer. You're all bother. I'm more than happy to be released from this trash...”



”Trash!? After all years together and you call us trash!?” This time Gai's anger had become so red, not only because of the damage Neji had done to his own teammates, but his real truth words, and it hurts so much. Suddenly Gai gave Neji the hardest punched he ever received, not even those times he used to punch Lee so hard. ”DAMN YOU!! WHY!? WHY!? I've always loved you as one of my own children! And this is how... you thanking me?”



Neji who just got nosebleed and bruise at his face, he just stood up, turning away his back at them and simply walked, without turning around and that was the last time, they ever spoken to him as in person and their teammate.



End of Flashback



Tenten finally manage to walk to her bathroom, brushing her teeth and preparing herself for bedtime, everything was so dark and lonely. She normally felt lonely, but nothing like this.



As orphan, she never knew how it felt to have parents around her, but she always saw her team as her family and unlike Neji; Tenten always appreciated every minute they had together and as in young age at 12, she always consider Neji and Lee like her brothers she never had. Neji was her favorite brother and her reason of living, he used to visit her apartment constantly, when Gai and Lee had their own trainings. But not anymore and it had only been two days, since the ending of their contacts with Neji and it destroyed everything she hoped for. Tenten had lost her goals, her dreams, her reason of living.



She felt so foolish and dumb for kissing Lee and made love with him just a day after she was found in their training ground, her clothes ripped and bleeding in between her legs and Neji gone after his lustful action. She had never felt so vulnerable and humiliated in her own entire life.



And throwing herself a new relationship was such a hard decision, but it was the only way to feel protected and giving Neji the reason why she couldn't't be with him anymore. On other hand her emotions was in jeopardy and she started to grab some pills, swallowing with water, before heading to her bed. Tomorrow she felt like she had to talk with Lee about their actions, maybe it wasn't her attempt to do this, but she had to be honest. Maybe Neji was right, maybe she didn't love Lee he same way, as she had with Neji, but she was so tired about hiding her emotion like she used to. ”Hopefully everything will be alright. I just hope that he won't hurt anyone else...” God, if Tenten knew how wrong she was.

Back to Hyuga compound, when once again it turned dark over Konoha, poor Hinata sat on her bed, she sniffled as she wiped at her now swollen eyes, after painful meeting and her duties at the kitchen, but then told one maid to serve the food for them, because she couldn't't again face her family, after this horrible meeting with her father and her future husband Neji and Hinata tried to eat alone in kitchen, but she couldn't't, instead she wept harder, everything hurts her inside. She hated her life here, she had always felt so unloved and afraid of anyone in this household, she missed her mother terribly and wished nothing than having her back.



But her mother was dead and there was no one, who could comfort her or telling her that everything would be alright, because none of this is going to happened and her little sister Hanabi had become more and more like her father, after many years of training with their father, Hanabi turned from sweet little girl to cold and selfish brat.



Hanabi was only a baby, when their mother died and as a child, she only had Hinata as her female presence, plus many maids, but unlike Hinata, she never had any motherly bond and all she had was her father's harshness. Hinata always loved her little baby sister heartedly, but Hanabi slowly grows to hate Hinata and accusing her for giving up so easily, for being week and for being so naive. Yeah, that's what Hanabi thought of her big sister and since Hinata was genin, their contacts were becoming less and less, not only because of the trainings, but because their father made sure that they lost sisterly contacts with each other, for making sure that Hinata's weakness didn't affect Hanabi.



Hiashi who were very bitter of only having two daughters, he decided to made one of them to act like a boy and Hanabi was his choice and Hinata was pushed away, not caring if she were hurts or dead. But years had left and Hinata was still alive and even become chunnin, Hiashi decided after many meetings with the council to get rid of her, instead he plans for making Neji to the heir of Hyuga clan, but because of he was Branch member, it was impossible to directly remove Hinata and Hanabi was way too immature and brash for taking over, so instead he come up a brilliant idea, and the idea was the arranged marriage, so that Neji would be the future heir and the Hyuga Clan would be safe and more powerful. She knew that she couldn't't stay here any longer and decided to run away, but she needed to wait until everything was quiet, making sure that everyone was sleeping. She couldn't't afford taking too much risk, she stopped crying and started to think about how and where to run. She didn't know if Kiba would take her in, because of his family, but she knew that she had to try.



More hours had left and Hinata used her byakugan for making sure that everyone was asleep, she packed few belongings on her small backpack and made herself clear to jump out from her bedroom window to the ground, barefoot, since at the compound's stairs, her shoes were left, so she hurried to put her shoes on and ran as fast as she could out of the house.



Kiba hadn't been able to sleep this night, because all he could think of was Hinata, his mother or Hana didn't knew anything about it yet, although these women started to get suspicious about it. He patted his giant dog Akamaru, who was asleep and left his room for having some saké since everyone was sleeping. Kiba had his secret activity that nobody knew.



He always drank few bottles of saké almost every night and also took out one cigarettes he got from Shikamaru, who started to smoke after his sensei's habit and Kiba also fallen for this as well, but unlike Shikamaru, nobody knows about it. Not even Akamaru, Shino or Hinata. He took his glass with saké, went outside to his balcony, sat down at the chair with cigarette in his mouth and lighted on, took it out and blowed out, while relaxing, closing his eyes. Kiba always felt more sleepy after few drinks and one cigarette. ”Wow... if lazy-man were here right now, I wouldn't't feel so alone about this.” he said to himself, thinking about spending few times with Shikamaru, right after he returned from Suna.



His constant date with Temari had changed him, he didn't wanna be in Konoha anymore and Shikamaru didn't got good terms with his mother, who constantly fighting with him and his father almost everyday. His mother hated Temari and always tried everything to convince him to marry with good Konoha-girl, like Ino for example, but Ino was too busy with constant diet, whining about Sakura and always nags about Shikamaru's and Choji's habit.



Kiba felt sorry for lazy-man and felt himself grateful for not having way too bitching mother, Tsume may be aggressive and loud mouthing, but she could also be soft and tender, like real mothers. While he was almost falling asleep, he woke up startled, by noises of footsteps and he grabbed kunai and sneaked to the front door, being ready for attack, although the saké started to affect his brain and felt more tired and he heard few knocks. He waited, but the knockings wasn't ending, so he opened up and suddenly someone embraced him, no doubt that it was Hinata, who came in middle of the night, shivering from the night cold. ”Hinata...” he whispered. ”Why are you here?” Then she looked at him, her eyes was swollen by all cryings.



”Hinata... what happened!? Come inside, I'll give you some saké! But be quiet, because everyone is sleeping!” and let her inside, took her backpack and rushed to the kitchen, grabbing the bottle and poured to empty glass and as Hinata took her shoes off and went to the kitchen and Kiba gave her the small glass and said: ”Drink it.” Hinata just grabbed the glass and drank fast, the taste was sour and strong, it also burned, but she didn't care. Everything was so miserable and all she wanted was to forget and feel embraced by her lover. Hinata looked at him, reached out with empty glass and asked: ”More please?” ”Hinata... I don't think...” ”Just give me some more! I'm not so fragile!” the sudden outburst from her hoarse voice startled him as he took the empty glass for pouring some more and gave her another one.



Later on, Hinata fell in asleep after few drinks and Kiba carried her in bride style to his bedroom, where Akamaru was sleeping. Kiba didn't exactly know of what happened to her, but he knew that she never had in good term with her family, so he decided to ask her about it for later, because it was still 4.00 in the morning and he laid the sleepy girl at his bed near Akamaru and tucked her gently with his left hand, while he right hand stroking her hair and whispered: ”Good night, my sweet angel.” After giving soft kiss on her forehead, he grabbed some pillow and blanket and went to the living room, laid down on the couch and soon fell in sleep.
