The first chapter of our love
Hey Neji, it’s me… are you there? It’s okay if you don’t want to talk. I just want to-
“Hello Naruto!” Neji nearly tripped on his half removed shoes the moment he heard Naruto’s voice echoing inside the apartment, he was panting by the time he got to the phone. “Where the fuck are you!?”
There was a long pause at the other line, and his heart was already threatening to shoot up his throat at just the mere thought of the possibility of Naruto hanging up.
“Neji…”
“Where are you?” He started a little more calmly, his voice a huge contrast to how his heart was beating in rapidity.
“I don’t think I can see you right now Neji. Or I might hate you.” His grip on the phone was so hard it was shaking from his hold.
“Naruto if it’s about the last time I… please come back, let’s talk. I… I was just so angry.”
“What makes you think that you won’t sooner or later?” It was a calm sentence, not cynical or dry, it was just calm.
“Naruto…”
“I don’t know what to do with us Neji. To be honest… I do not want to be apart from you, I still love you Neji.”
“Naruto come back.” Neji’s limbs shook all over as he lost the will to control his knees, and he suddenly found himself leaning against the wall and legs sprawled on the floor.
“I’m not saying that we should go see someone else. I just want you to cool your head off, and I need some space too. Neji if we don’t work this out, every time we quarrel you’ll bring the past back again… I’m… really tired Neji.” His groan sounded hoarse in Neji’s ear, the receiver had never felt so heavy in his hand before.
“I’ll be going back to our hometown. When you’ve cleared your head off, call me, whatever decision you make I’m willing to accept it. I can let you go Neji if that’s what you want. I’m sorry. I love you.”
“Naruto-”
Neji had never cried so hard before in his life.

It had been a long time since he had set foot back to his ancestral house. And he was thankful it was so maintenance lacking but never the less tough and still standing that the chores kept him from thinking to much which would eventually result to him breaking down.
Seeing the buildings, the newly built park and amusement park, the apartments that sprung up during the years of his absence ever since he graduated senior high he couldn’t help but notice the change, but some of them remained intact, like the house where he had played with Sasuke, Neji, Kiba and the rest of his childhood friends the most. The swing he would often visit after some brawl or fight with the neighborhood’s kids, with Sasuke joining him soon after with an equal amount of bruise or more.
Just beside a certain café was a nameless establishment under the building from where the café was in, in that certain establishment you could never enter without a kind of pass, a symbol of a black snake printed in the underside of a pitch black card that would glisten and move a side-winding motion when flipped continuously. And the name BLACKHOLE would emerge.
There were three floors all in all, and Naruto had been in all those places in his younger days. The third floor or GAIA which you would encounter at first stop of the descending stairs was your usual club, drinks, smokes and the loud banging of the percussion and people’s shouts describe the third floor. The second floor or what they call HADES you would need to have some sort of a tattoo in the inner side of your thigh if you’re working there, or the VIP card if you’re a customer there. It’s a dark room with red painted walls and gloomy lights to conceal the appearance of the audience, in the catwalk at the center of the crowd Naruto couldn’t remember how many times he had stood there to burn his sensual movements into their lusting minds.
The inverted first floor or HELL was divided into six large rooms each with their own interior design, three rooms parallel to the other three separated by different doors of each unique style. Few selected patrons could only be allowed to be in HELL, it’s only for those who were willing to waste a few thousand bucks to see a little eye candy, or an hour of masturbation show. Touching would be against the rule and one offense would mean banishment from the establishment forever no matter how rich you could be. And the fact that it’s no ordinary club for elite men but for gay elite men of the society makes it so undeniably prosperous that when Naruto dared to take a quick peek he wasn’t surprised to see it was still operating.
It was a place where Naruto would have been working up until now if not for Neji, and he might have ended up being Owner Itachi’s lover had Neji never stood up for him and bought him out of that place.
His heart, even if he willed it would never accept anyone but Neji, he realized that now. And losing him would be losing his life altogether. Will he feel that selfsame pain again when Sasuke turned him away? No, this time if it happened, the pain would be greater, more searing, unbearable. It would be better if he’d just died.

I was wrong when I hurt you… did you have to hurt me too… did you think revenge can make it better… I don’t care about the past I just want our love to last there’s a way to bring us back together.
The radio went on to echoing along the corridors and the rooms of the old thatched house as Naruto lazily leaned his head on the post supporting the roof as he sat on the porch, his legs folded loosely underneath him and shifted so he could recline to the side. His eyes were hazy with the scorching heat of the summer, the heat was so intense that even the ice in the glass beside him was melting quickly.
I must forgive you and you must forgive me too… if we wanna try to put things back the way they used to be… ‘cause there’s no sense in going over and over the same things as before… so let’s not bring the past back anymore…
A sleek black car collected clouds of dust as it parked right in front of the house’s gate, it’s wheezing noises slowly subsiding until there was no more sound but the sound of the drones and the radio inside the house. The door of the car slowly opened, closing with a mild slamming sound as a blurry figure slowly walked towards Naruto’s direction.
“Eh?”
“Naruto.” His calm and collected voice sound like cool water drenching his humid body as he blinked back the sweat collecting on his fair eyelashes.
Out of all the good we had you only keep track of the bad though you knew I never really loved her. Didn’t anyone tell you yet that to forgive is to forget. How can you be mad if you don’t remember?
“I’m picking you up. Let’s go.” He hadn’t change one bit. Still the calm and handsome lover that Neji was… but had he grown thinner? Naruto didn’t have the time to think because with a broad smile and the tears escaping his happily arched eyes he quickly leapt towards the man’s arms.
“Finally.”
I must forgive you and you must forgive me too... it’s the only thing that’s left that we haven’t tried to do, one thing that I’m sure will work that we haven’t tried before. Let’s not bring the past back anymore… AND THAT’S ‘THE PAST’ AS POPULARIZED BY JED MADELA, TUNE IN TO ONE-O-ONE-POINT-ONE…
