Chapter 4

Woo-hoo!! Double post tonight! Enjoy!!!
*****************************************************************************************************

Naruto stared out of the window and watched as the rain poured out of the sky. He knew that Sasuke was upstairs, in a snit. They had another huge argument about marriage. The old response of ‘the council won’t allow it because they want you to have children’ had sounded hollow, even to him. Naruto was reluctant to accept any of the numerous proposals because of his past experiences. Just when Naruto was found something to cherish in his lonely life, something, or someone, would rip it away from him. He died a little inside every time it happened but he wanted Sasuke to be happy. Kami-sama knew how there was little joy there was in the raven avenger’s life. He also knew, in his heart of hearts, that Sasuke would never find someone to satisfy the council’s demand. Sasuke knew that Naruto wanted him but frustration caused him to utter hateful words.

Naruto moved to the counter and pulled out the valentine he had made earlier. He smiled softly because no matter how hard he tried, Sasuke never saw him make the tokens of his love for him. This valentine was very special and different from ones he had created in the past. Instead of the custom made chocolate treat, a simple gold band was taped to the front. He mind wandered to earlier in the month and the conversation he had had with Tsunade baa-chan.

Flashback
***************
Naruto knocked firmly on the door that led to Tsunade’s office. He felt that she might be more receptive to his request if he knocked instead of barging in, as usual. He heard the growled, “Enter!” and grinned. Boy, she was going to flip when she heard what he wanted her to do!

“Shizune, I thought I gave you very explicit instructions not to disturb…brat, what are you doing here? And why in the hell did you knock, instead of blowing in like you usually do?”

Naruto smiled sheepishly; “If I’m disturbing you, I can always come back another time,” he replied politely.

Tsunade’s head snapped back and she demanded, “BRAT! What did you do and how much trouble are you in? You are never this polite unless your ass is in such hot water that you need me to bail you out!”

“BAA-CHAN! I’m not in trouble but I do need your help, you old bat!” Naruto huffed angrily. “Jeez…you act like I’m always up to no good!”

“Well, if the shoe fits…”

“ARE YOU GOING TO HEAR ME OUT OR ARE WE GOING TO ARGUE?” Naruto shouted at the top of his lungs.

Tsunade snorted; “Okay…so tell me what brings you to me this time?”

Naruto flopped in to the chair in front of her desk. He paused, for a rare moment, and thought about what he was going to say. He pressed his lips together and took a deep breath before he started to speak.

“You know that Sasuke and I have been…seeing each other for awhile, right?”

“More than seeing each other, if that rag the Jiraya writes is any indication. Many of his readers may be yaoi fan girls but they are still fan girls deep down and they can’t be too happy about you and Sasuke.”

“BAA-CHAN…PLEASE!” Naruto bellowed. Tsunade chuckled and motioned for Naruto to continue. He sighed and attempted to gather his thoughts once more. This had turned out to be more difficult than he originally thought.

“Well, Sasuke and I have been seeing each other and we have developed a…special relationship. He wants to take it to another level but I’m…uh…I’m kinda…”

Tsunade frowned; in all the time she had known him, he had never been at a loss for words. She placed her elbows onto her desk and leaned on her tented index fingers. She stared intently at Naruto and noticed that he had changed. Something was different and she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.

“Naruto…are you in love with Sasuke?” she asked gently. Her suspicions were confirmed when Naruto started to blush.

“Well…uh…yeah, I guess. Sasuke makes me feel special and I only want him to be happy,” he said softly. He proceeded to tell her about the valentines he started sending and about how one thing led to another. When Naruto completed his tale, he stared at the floor and waited for the explosion; it never came.

“Naruto, look at me.” She paused until he peeked up at her with tears in his cerulean blue eyes. She sighed, stood and moved to the front of her desk. Naruto cringed, slightly, but he kept his seat. Tsunade silently cursed the villagers and the damned council for making Naruto feel that he didn’t deserve happiness like a normal person. She leaned back against her desk and cupped Naruto’s chin in one of her extended hands.

“What do you need me to do?” she asked.

END FLASHBACK
***************
Naruto shook his head and stared at the simple valentine in his hands. It was a white heart with gold glitter on the edges. He opened the card and re-read the message he had written inside.

Roses are red;
Violets are blue.
Still want to get married?
I’m ready to say ‘I do’.

Like right now…I’m downstairs with Baa-chan and our friends. So, if you want to marry me, then get your hot ass down here. Baa-chan is going to marry us before the council can do any damned thing about it.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Love Your Naruto.

P. S.
Before you start thinking I’m doing this because of your snit earlier today, let me tell you that I asked Baa-chan to arrange this two weeks ago. Now, move your ass and put that ring on my finger.

Naruto made the hand signals to summon a Kage Bunshin. He handed the valentine over and told his clone where he could find Sasuke. As the clone disappeared, Naruto rushed to get ready. He knew that Sasuke wouldn’t waste any time getting to their wedding.

Naruto was waiting at the base of the stairs, wearing one of Sasuke’s Uchiha yukatas and tapped his foot impatiently. Sasuke grabbed the blonde’s face and gave him a hard kiss. Naruto sighed; he knew that he had done the right thing once more and that Sasuke’s happiness was his as well.

Tsunade laughed, “You’re getting ahead of things, Uchiha. Now, you two come here and we’ll get you married.”

They broke the kiss and stood in front of Tsunade as she began the ceremony to marry them.
