Chapter 4
AN: Again another short chapter. I suck, I know. Leave a review.
Chapter 4
Temari held out her hand to the deer, "Aw man, Shika-Kun, I scared her!"
"No, she's not scared, just unsure. You'll see.” Shikamaru smiled at her, "See, told ya!"
"It tickles!” she said as the doe ate the feed out of her hand. She hadn't ever been this close to the deer before. For the most part, the last few trips to Konoha had been on Suna business.
"You can pet her, she's pretty tame. Lucky for you mating season has passed. Come over to the barn with me, I want to show you something."
"Oh really? I can only imagine what,” she laughed, "What is it?"
"You'll see. Come close your eyes." He grabbed her hand, "It's worth it, trust me."
"Okay then. Don't you dare let me fall. I just got healed!"
"I won't, dang."
"Open your eyes."
"Shika-Kun! Awww! How old are they?"
"Six weeks yesterday. Pick one and it will be yours, kinda like a pet. Unless you think that's a drag."
She looked at all three fawns; she couldn't decide which one she wanted. "I want the little one. She's cute, I'll call her Jasmine."

Temari was beat when they finally sat down to eat, she didn't think she could keep her eyes open. One day until Gaara gets here, she thought, And if Kankuro is with him, I'm gonna punch him in the mouth. No, she couldn't do that because then Shikamaru might figure out what really caused her fall.
"Hey! Earth to Temari!"
"What?"
"I asked you a question, tsch, I hate repeating myself."
"Kankuro..."
"Where?” he said looking behind him, "What are you talking about"
"The poison senbon.” she figured telling him now might make it easier, because she knew it was going to come out anyway.
"Poison senbon, go on."
"We were in the trees scouting ahead for Rock ninja and Kankuro yelled to look out, then he fired the senbon. I remember 3 out of 6 hit me. I never saw, heard, or sensed anyone! The poison is paralytic, so when I landed on the branch I couldn't stand, because 2 needles hit my leg, the third one sliced my upper arm. I swear he aimed at me. I remember thinking that as I fell. I don't remember hitting the ground or how I got to the Leaf border. I remember coming to when they were bringing me in," she paused to laugh, "I kept trying to think who it was I knew that had blond hair, well besides me."
"Naruto? How could you possibly forget him? I'm glad they found you in time. Why would Kankuro do this on purpose? It doesn't make any sense."
"He feels like I'm abandoning the Sand. Even though if not for the Leaf, the Sand would have been thrown into chaos. And because I'm the daughter and sister of Kazekage.” she sighed, "He's taking it hard. Not that I'm defending him."
"I know you're not. What a drag."
"Indeed."
She stood up and stretched. Man, I'm tired, she thought and carried her dishes to the sink. She yawned and looked over at Shikamaru. "I think I'm gonna take a shower and go to bed."
"Yeah, yeah, go ahead.” he said smiling at her.
"I got your 'yeah, yeah'.” she laughed
Chapter 4
