Chapter 4 – Undying Truth

Forest of Chakra, Storage Shelter

Nothing came to mind so he lay there staring at the ceiling. Eventually a memory resurfaced and he
rolled over onto his side to face Hinata who was now on her back with her eyes closed.
“Hina-chan,” he whispered.
“Hmm,” she hummed in return.
“What was it that you wanted to talk to me about back in the cave?”
Her eyes began to open and as they did she rolled to her side away from him.
“I-uh. I just w-wanted to…” she murmured.
Naruto crept slowly closer behind her.
“-to a-ask you…um,” she forced, “how were you talking to the Kyuubi?” she sighed and kicked herself
in disappointment.
Naruto shrank back slightly taken back by the open question about his demon.

Naruto sat up crossing his legs and placing his palms together. His sudden movements stirred Hinata
and curiosity made her turn around.
“As you know, 17 years ago the Kyuubi was sealed within my by the Fourth Hokage,” As Hinata watched
she wondered what exactly was he trying to do and suddenly from nowhere a spiralling tattoo began to
appear on his belly followed by the appearance of and eight pronged circle that surrounded the swirl,
“This is the seal that locks the demon within my body.”
Naruto watched the tears begin to well up in the girl's eyes, as she thought about how the village
so badly mistreated him; he was the host of a demon. Hinata got up to her knees and wrapped her arms
around the sitting boy and sobbed into his shoulder.

"Hinata," he said, "I don't want your pity, and after so many years of being an outcast in the
village I want nothing more than to move on, I kno-" he was broken off by Hinata sobbing but trying
to speak clearly into his ear, "I've never mistreated you Naruto-kun! I've always cared about you,
even if I was too shy to comfort you." She cried harder wrapping her arms tighter around his body,
"I l-love you Naruto-kun and I always have, even if that means your demon as well!"

Naruto began to hold her as she was breaking down in tears against him. He let it all sink in and
couldn't believe what she had just said, L-Loves...me?..She couldn't have meant it, it must've
been forced from pity, he thought to himself, [No Naruto,] came a soft growl which nearly made
him jump out of his wits, he had forgotten that he was still in Sage Mode, [Look back on your past
Kit, remember all the times when she had been near or spoken to you, she wasn't ever getting a cold
you baka! She was nervously blushing just from being around you.]

As the past was revealed to him he bowed his head and brushed his cheek against hers and then
whispered into her ear, "there's one more thing ok? After Granny Tsunade told me that Pervy Sage
was killed I was sent away to be trained in a new technique by the toads. The technique communes
my body with nature and results in my eyes green shade. Shortly after I became used to connecting
with nature something started to happen." He paused for a moment. [Just tell her all right Kit,
it's now or never]. Naruto gulped, "Linking my body with the environment allowed the subconscious
part of my mind to be unlocked and I eventually discovered that I could communicate with the Kyuubi",
He felt the girl tense up against him and continued, "soon after, the Kyuubi began to grow more
respect for me and my achievements and has gradually allowed me to control more and more of his
power without losing myself to it. It has become more of an ally to me now than ever." He finished.
[IT?! TEME! I'm a MALE!], the fox roared. "Oh sorry," Naruto said out loud, "The Kyuubi said that
he is in fact male".

At that Hinata began to chuckle and hid her face into his chest till she had calmed herself down.
Now that Naruto had finished his deep story he closed his eyes and reopened them. He began to focus
more on the girl he was holding, it had certainly not escaped him that she was wearing next to no
clothing. He wrapped her up tighter against him to his chest and stroked her long dark blue hair.
As he watched her he felt strange, a feeling he had never encountered before, and as he thought
about how stupid he was for not realising that someone had actually cared about he remembered the
time he saw and spoke to her, the day of the Chunnin exams when he fought Neji.

She turned her head up to him and as he was lost in her caring white eyes he dropped his head down
closer to her and she felt him brush his lips across hers, the thankyou he whispered came out
rather breathy and the close proximity of the breath itself was causing a darkening tint on
Hinata's cheek. Realising what he had just done he swiftly pulled his face away but felt her
hands creep up his chest, her fingers walk up his neck and sweep under his chin. Yearning her
ever soft touch he looked down to her as her travelling hand clamped around his lower jaw and
pulled him down to press his lips softly to hers.

Slowly they were both kissing, both returning and getting deeper, Hinata, on her knees, pressed
her soft hands to his shoulders she pushed the seated Naruto onto his back and Naruto, with his
hand still in her hair pulled her down with him to where she lay on his chest, their legs tangling
between each other. It was there, her first ever kiss,(though not Naruto's due to an incident
with Sasuke back in the academy), on the tip of a cliff as the moon was well on its way to
disappear from the returning sun. They continued to explore each other as their tongues danced
around and swirled about. His mind was busily racing; he had a strange sensation building inside
of him, he questioned himself before understanding. "I love you," Naruto finally huffed after
their long session of almost not breathing at all. Hinata replied, "And I..I have loved you for
a very long time."
Naruto blushed because he had never noticed her and now he hated himself for it. Hinata sprinkled
kisses around his jaw, down his neck and across his shoulders until finally she lay with her head
to the side as she listened to the sound of Naruto's strong heartbeat.

The usually shy girl slid her fingers through his rough blonde hair while rubbing her body into
his groin which drove out a soft groan from his throat as he rolled her over onto her back.
It was a mission in itself to break away from her hungry lips as Naruto began to kiss along her
neck, nibbling occasionally as he went down to her smooth shoulders.
He nuzzled into her shoulder as he furtively moved his hand up the girl's shirt accidently

Being their first time the young couple moved very cautiously and slowly with each other. Their
hearts both pounding witin their chests as they continued to explore one another.

carefully removed the blanket to reveal her slim, silky smooth legs that led up to a pair of

By the end the pair lay exhausted on the bed. Hinata wondered if he was disappointed that they
didn't go all the way and when he caught sight of her expression, while reaching down with his
feet to kick up a blanket and drape it over them, he wrapped one arm around her and gave her a squeeze.
"I don't think I'm ready to take any further steps yet if that’s ok with you Hina-chan," he whispered
to her with is eye's gently closed. The timid girl kissed him on the cheek and returned, "Thank you,
Naruto-kun."
As they both began to fall victim to exhaustion Hinata crawled into her favourite position, snuggled
in her lovers groove and before dropping off she breathed, "I love you Naruto-kun, and I always have..."
Naruto licked the shell of her ear, kissed her shoulder and before following her to dream he whispered
back, "I love you too Hinata-chan and I always will..."

Two Days Later

Hotel Of Stars

"All right Akamaru!" Kiba called out in delight, "how you feeling buddy?"
The dog returned with a yelp causing a smile to emerge on Kiba's face, "Calm down Kiba-kun," a soft
voice whispered from beside his bed. Kiba rolled over to see the silky blue hair of the Hyuuga shimmer
in the morning light as she kneed some herbs in a bowl with her palm, "you need to rest for now if
we're still planning to head home this evening." She mixed the herbs into a cup of water before handing
it to him, she also poured some into a bowl on the floor which Akamaru lapped at happily.
"I'm feeling a lot better than yesterday, Hinata-chan" Kiba declared as he drank the liquid in one
gulp, "If it weren't for your medicinal skills with herbs we'd still be out for the rest of the week!"
"T-the chakra in the herbs h-helped," Hinata blushed slightly as she was praised, she wasn't used
to optimistic appraisal and often had qualms in her own abilities as her father had always doubted her.
She was embarrassed by the fact that her younger sister could beat her in a sparring match and was
given the right to be the heir of the Hyuuga clan as it was taken from her, not that she cared too
much as she now considered in helping another clan form, one that she didn't even know if it had
ever formerly been a clan...

Kiba's voice broke her from her trance as he continued to speak, "speaking of recovery, how is Shino?"
he asked the girl.
"Umm... oh, Shino's fine. Yeah he's just gone for a last walk around the village-" Hinata replied.
"What!!" Kiba yelled jumping out of his bed to land on his feet. he found himself wobbly at first but
soon began to stabilise, "you think that I'm just gonna relax in bed while everyone else gets to hit
the streets? Forget it!" he huffed as he left the bedroom. Hinata sighed, I didn't think he'd be
here for long, he's just as stubborn as Naruto-kun she giggled to herself.

In a shop on the street Naruto had downed three bowls of miso ramen before he took a breath, Inari
was still eating his second bowl, as he couldn't help but stare every now and then at the blonde
ninja's fangs.
"You're going already!" The young boy looked up to his friend who simply smiled back down at him.
"Heh, you know what Inari-kun," Naruto softly laughed at the boy, "you remind me of myself, always
eager to keep your friends, your strong enough to hold everyone around you together and you have an
identical taste to ramen as I do." The young boy smiled and drank the rest of the contents in the
bowl as Naruto ruffled his hand through his wild brown hair. He had discarded his old fishing hat
but kept it in his room beside a picture of a man whom he had once come to call 'father', the hat
was full of memories and Inari didn't want it to get destroyed any further from its current state,
also his mum, Tsunami, had threatened to toss it into the ocean if he continued to wear it, now
his wild brown hair hung down to his cheeks as it blew in the cool, sea breeze. "But it only feels
like you've been here for a few days," he whined looking down at the ground.

"I know, but I was only given a certain amount of time to be out of the village, which we've almost
overstayed, however I promise that if I ever hear of another mission here or go on a vacation for a
bit, I'll head straight to the land of waves first." He stuck out his thumb in a very Lee-like
fashion and shone his silvery white teeth, which had retracted to their normal sizes. It hadn't
taken much to explain to Inari about how his body had grown animalistic features as he had pinned
it on a new jutsu he had learned, which was partially true.

He had also noticed some of the villages pulling down his picture from their walls, which disappointed
him for a moment until he realised that they were replacing them with more, current ones. He smiled
again and added, "How could I not want to return to a village that I'm famous in, haha!" this made
a smile grow on Inari's face and when Naruto had stood up and said, "my treat" as he slapped some
paper notes and bronze coins onto the bench, his smile grew even wider as tears began to well up in
his eyes.
"Sorry Inari, but I promised Hinata that I'd meet her at the shops now, ok so I'll see you tonight,"
he waved to the boy as he walked off towards the markets.

Out the front of a supply store, Hinata stood staring into a window when she felt someone's hand fall
on her shoulder causing her to jump. "What do you think, Naruto-kun?" she asked as she pointed into
the window. Naruto's eyes followed in the direction of her finger, "It comes as a set." She continued.
"It's perfect!" He whispered into her ear with excitement in his tone before he entered the store.
Hinata blushed from the close proximity and the heat of his breath on her skin. “O-ok, w-why don’t
you go and t-try it.”
Twenty minutes later her emerged from the building and was walking towards Hinata. Once again he
noticed some of the villages pulling out canvases and began to paint his figure. In the sunlight he
showed off his new attire to Hinata and the nearby villagers, he wore a black set of track pants that
had a few pockets down the outsides of the legs as well as a pair of two thin orange stripes that
also ran up the sides of his legs and over top of the pockets.

At the waist of his pants was a belt with two pouches that clipped behind his back and between the
pouches was a custom made hole that allowed his red and gold tail to poke out of. Above, he wore a
simple black tank top with the specific design of an orange swirl in the middle on the back, over
top was a tight, lightly plated vest that continued with the same black colour and the two thin
orange stripes up the side. The vest had multiple holsters for kunai knives to be strapped to his
chest as well as holster tags on the back; one on the top right corner and the other at the bottom
left corner, specifically designed to hold a weapon such as a katana but for now it remained empty.
A black facemask hung around his neck as it wasn't in use.

Hinata was silent for a moment while she gazed at him, he looked taller and even more built as his
forearms were exposed, she blushed as Naruto caught her staring at his biceps and he flexed them
jokingly which caused her to turn bright red. Together they turned and walked back to the hotel.

The Leaf nin gathered at the entrance of their hotel and gave it one last glance before heading off
to bid their good byes to Tazuna, Tsunami and Inari. Naruto felt Hinata's soft hand slip into his
as he remembered their first night in the room on the top floor. It had been nearly a month and
when he thought of returning home he wondered how his friends would react when they found out about
him and the girl who now wrapped herself under his arm. Would they be as protective as Kiba or as
calm and carefree as Shino? Naruto instantly thought of Shikamaru and guessed the latter. Had any
of his friends known about Hinata's feelings for him before he himself had found out? He felt a
knot twitch in his stomach as he thought of Hiashi's reaction, "The demon brat!? With my daughter!?"
Hiashi yelled... he paused not wanting to ponder further, Maybe he wouldn't react like that
seeing Hanbi is now the Hyuuga Princess he looked down at the girl on his shoulder and whispered,
"though you will always be a princess to me."
Hinata just blinked at him, wondering what had been going through his mind but before she could
ask they had stopped at the front door of Inari's home.

Tsunami greeted each of them with a warm hug as she welcomed them inside, the four shinobi sat at
the dining table with the three hosts. A small departing feast had been prepared for them to enjoy
with the family before they left home. Conversations were long and everyone was laughing and
enjoying themselves, mostly at jokes against Naruto.
By the end of their banquet the sun was beginning to set and the leaf nin prepared themselves
for the trip home, as they were leaving Tsunami waited at the door with four envelopes which
she gave to each of them, Naruto peaked inside his and found a bundle of rolled notes and when
he said, "we can't accept this, we will be paid by our Hokage when we return home," he tried to
hand the package back to her but she simply pressed it back into his hand and curled his fingers
over it, 'It's just a little something extra for restoring our sacred forest as well as exalting
your presence with us," she smiled softly and gave them each a final warm hug before they continued
to the bridge. Inari joined them as they walked to the other side of The Great Naruto Bridge,
Inari also gave them all a final hug around the waist before heading back home before it got dark.

The red glow of the setting sun spread across the road in front of them and Naruto noticed it cast
light on the entrance of a grove. "Hang on guy's, there's one last thing that I want to do before
we leave." He said to his teammates before heading into the grove. The rest of the team followed
him in wonder until they found him kneeling at what looked like two graves.

Naruto couldn't help but notice that Zabuza's great sword wasn't planted in the ground behind
his grave head, but he tried to not let the thought bother him as he looked over to see the pieces
of a mask rest on the grave beside him. His fingers grazed the facemask and fragments of memories
came back to him of the fight with Haku on the bridge, "that was when we first met Kyuubi. Though
not formally." He whispered to himself. He felt someone's hand clinch around his shoulder and he
rose to his feet and turned to stare deeply into the girl's crystal blue eyes before capturing her
soft lips in a passionate kiss, his arms wrapping around her waist and pulling her closer while
her arms tighten around his neck and a hand waved through his spiky hair.

Shortly after, they exited the copse and began their journey home.
"By the way Naruto," came Kiba's voice from behind him, "what's with the new outfit?"
Naruto felt Hinata tense up under his arm, she made him swear not to tell anyone about the incident
in the cave apart from the fact that they were all dealt with and the flowers were retrieved.
"Uhh...I umm...felt like a change. You know... like..." Naruto stammered
"H-he wanted to wear something that suited the stealth aspect of being a ninja, right?" Hinata
finished.
Naruto smiled back, "Right."
The mention of his change in appearance led him to ponder again on what the others would think
of him like he had earlier. I guess I'm gonna have to tell everyone the same thing as I told
Inari, Kiba and Shino...It’s a new Jutsu, he thought to himself as his tail swished behind him.
