Hearts desires

Naruto glared darkly at Iruka. He stood up from his seat resisting the urge to punch his mother. He growled looking at the two small children beside his desk playing.

“One more time Iruka, I could have sworn you sent my oldest son on a mission with S class criminals.” Iruka frowned a bit. He understood Naruto’s worry but Yuudai was a Jounin, and that was because of the late Hokage’s demand. Yuudai was a powerful Nin. He was good, one of the best this village had ever seen! Yuudai could have been Anbu easy by now if Tsunade was still Hokage! Naruto was just being protective and motherly and it was holding the younger Nin back, making him feel weak and not as good as he actually was!

“Naruto, you need to calm down. This mission needed to be done. It couldn’t be done by the older Nin, their instincts are not as good as the younger generation, and Yuudai is the only young one who would take the mission.” Naruto’s glared darkened and he looked at the door.

“Sasuke! Get the kids and take them out for lunch!” Iruka frowned. The only time Naruto sent the kids away was when he was going to get violent and mouthy and he did not want his kids seeing that. Slowly the door opened and the Uchiha walked in. Picking the kids up by their pants, he carried them out without a word. Sasuke was in no way fatherly to the two kids, but the kids did love him. Once the door was shut Naruto looked back at Iruka.

“Are you fucking insane?! He’s only sixteen! What if something happens?! He’s not as good as he makes people think!” Iruka glared. He did love Naruto but the blonde was being… a blonde….

“No, you’re the one who’s insane Naruto! Yuudai is just as good if not BETTER then how he portrays himself! He did not get a Jounin ranking at age eleven because you were his mom! No, he got it because of the mission he accepted to take with you! He was ranked a Jounin because he was able to handle an attack from Orochimaru and YOU, and live to tell about it. Yuudai is not weak, he is NOT a child! He is a Jounin! And by now he should have been a fucking Anbu! But you’re retarded need to protect him is pulling him back, stopping him from his dreams!”

Naruto frowned, taken aback by the brunette’s outburst. There was a time when Iruka would have agreed with Naruto about protecting Yuudai, but now it seemed the man was insistent that Yuudai was as good as everyone said he was.

“Base is always there to save him from a screw up!” Iruka frowned crossing his arms.

“Really? That bothers you? How many screw ups did you go through in your life? You need to give him some slack! Base is stealing his every moment. That’s why their relationship is failing. You think Yuudai is always in trouble and Base is always coming in and saving him. For the past five years it’s been like this Naruto. Let Yuudai show you he is better than that!” Naruto sighed a bit rubbing his eyes. He sat back in his chair and frowned.

“I don’t think so… you can go Iruka… At least Base is with Yuudai.” Iruka frowned walking to the door. He opened it and stepped out.

“Yuudai told Base not to follow him this time.” Iruka shut the door, his eyes going wide seeing a kunai blade push through the wood. Naruto had thrown a kunai at him! Iruka frowned and ran off. He knew better than to go into the office now. Naruto was hostile and there were weapons hidden all over that room. To the blonde, Iruka was an enemy Nin. Iruka let out a sigh, rubbing his eyes. That bad feeling still hadn’t left him. He was sure it would after he told Naruto about the boy’s mission, so the feeling wasn’t coming from dread of the blonde’s wrath. No, it was something else entirely.

Yuudai frowned, finally reaching the village. It had taken nearly three days to get there. He frowned while looking around. The village seemed fine, children running around playing with each other. He stepped onto the main road and walked along the road. He was sure this was the village. It was the only village within a day or two run from here. Walking towards the market, he frowned at the children as they zoomed past him. Yuudai had to report to the head of the village and explain he was here to help, but he wasn’t sure if they needed help anymore.

Slowly he walked to an elder woman and after a small conversation Yuudai walked to the small hut in the center of the village. He knocked and waited for the gruff voice to tell him to enter. Before he did, he looked at the old man sitting at the desk. His hand was over his face. He was exhausted, stressed, and looked ready to have a heart attack… the same way Naruto looked when a pending war was rising against Konoha.

Yuudai bowed to the man respectfully. The man raised a brow. He’d never seen a boy that age give off so much respect. The man bowed back and sat upright. The boy was obviously a Konoha Nin. He wore the head band but he was so young. The head of the village knew only Jounin would be accepted for this task. It wasn’t an easy mission.

“My appearance may seem young sir, but I am in fact a Jounin. I have been sine age eleven. I am the highest ranked Nin in my age range. I come from two very powerful Nin parents and graduated the academy at age eight. I have had solo missions since I was eleven, and worked to help kill a missing Nin from sound, I am only sixteen years old but I am the best. That is why I was given this mission.” The man nodded slowly. He took a breath and rubbed his eyes.

“I must warn you then child, the mission report has it wrong. It’s not children that are going missing…” Yuudai frowned and nodded. He could guess that much with the kids running around.

“Teenagers have been taken by these... beasts. We suspect them of eating the boys and girls of our village, but we have yet to find bones or anything. Even their hideout is a mystery.”

“Then this will be a bit easier. About how often do they come to the village and kidnap someone?”

“Once a month, tonight is the night they’ll come back. It’s the full moon tonight.”

“Then it’s perfect timing. I will find the hideout of these monsters and get rid of them. I promise no more will be taken from his village sir.” Yuudai stood from his kneeling position on the floor and smiled softly. The man bowed his head and watched the boy leave. It was amazing how calm the boy was given that the boy was the same age as the ones who had gone missing. The man was surprised the boy didn’t flee to go back to Konoha for help. The boy seemed to want to do this on his own. The man had no idea if the boy was brave or just stupid. He went back to looking down at the paper work, his eyes shifting to a picture of a young blonde boy smiling and doing the peace sign. The man sighed rubbing his eyes. His grandson was the latest victim of the kidnappings. The man shook his head. Hopefully this boy would be able to help.
