44: Baby Booties, Lots of Hugs and Secrets Revealed - Old Guys Still Do THAT???
The February chill had set in and Neji curled up against Shikamaru in the warmth of a quilt on the couch as his love fed their two-week-old baby.
A knock on the door startled them and the Hyuuga rose, reluctantly, and went to answer it.
“Hiashi-obasan? What are you doing here?” Neji asked as he stepped back and allowed his uncle entrance. Behind the man a small dark haired girl stood looking around shyly.
“I came to see my niece. Did you think I wouldn’t want to see her?” The Elder Hyuuga answered. “Oh, this is Emi. She likes babies.” He said by way of explanations and the small woman moved forward to shriek at the sight of the tiny infant in Shika’s arms.
“Oh, she’s darling. Did you really have her? I was so shocked when Hia-kun told me about his nephew being pregnant. Can I hold her, please????”
Shikamaru looked up at his love and mouthed ‘Hia-kun?’ and Neji shook his head silently.
“Her name is Chigiri, but we tend to call her Hime.” He said to the girl who had wrapped her arms around the baby and was cooing to her softly.
“Hime, the Hyuuga Princess. Hopefully, you won’t be the only one, eh Hia-kun?” she said giggling shyly.
Neji turned a questioning gaze to his uncle who coughed quickly and turned away. Shika smiled broadly at the man’s distress and waited as Neji questioned him.
“Uncle? Is there something you have forgotten to tell me?” Neji asked.
“Oh, um yes. Emi and I are on our way out of town for a few days. Um, we, that is I am going to take her to Stone country and we are getting married.” He finished blushing madly.
“Congratulations, Hyuuga-san!” Shika said, and Hiashi turned quickly.
“Well, thank you Nara-san. And to you also, on the birth of a beautiful daughter. Emi we should go, Shibi and Okyou are waiting. Oh, don’t tell anyone but it is to be a double wedding. The Aburame man is telling his son now. I have just been to Hinata’s and informed her.”
“Did she take it well?” Shikamaru asked, knowing that Hinata was still suffering from some bouts of morning sickness.
“She threw up. I would hope that it was the baby, but it surprised me. Hanabi is staying with them for the next week and she will be a big help for her sister.”
“Indeed. Hanabi is a very capable young lady. How did she take the news?” Neji asked.
The girl answered this one. “Hanabi and I have been shopping for the trip for weeks. She loves me.” Was the response as she handed the baby to the younger Hyuuga. “I hope we can become close too, Neji-kun.” And the elder man took her arm and led her to the door.
“Well, bye. See you when I am a Hyuuga.” She called as they closed the door behind them.
“Neji, your new aunt is very young isn’t she?” Shika asked.
“Well, I don’t know, but if it kills him it’s his own fault. Hime you’re part of a weird family, get used to it.” He said, cuddling his baby close.
The cold weather had affected many and when the Emissaries from the Rain Country found themselves expelled from the Hokage’s office, they were one of the only ones on the street that weren’t irritated by the cold water falling from the sky.
Snow would have been a better form of precipitation and most were hoping the drizzle would eventually freeze and then the village would be more content.
Oboro and Mubi stood outside the building and looked at each other.
“That didn’t go well.” Oboro said.
“Well, they can’t be expected to just hand Aoi over without a fight. He was a Leaf ninja before he went bad and came to us. Now, that they have captured him, they have the right to punish him however they want.” Mubi said, looking back at the building.
“I hope he lives long enough to escape. He was real good at what he did.” Oboro answered.
“If he can escape he’ll come home. We just have to wait. Come on, Kagari is waiting and you know how he worries when we are late. Besides we have that cute new uniform for you. I want to see it first, before Kagari does.” Mubi said, sliding his fingers into Oboro’s soft locks and pulling him into a quick kiss. Oboro blushed brightly as he looked around the area. No one was near and he looked back, finally.
“Okay, let’s go. I don’t mind getting soaked, but I don’t like being here again. That last chuunin exam was all I could stand of the fire country.”
“Then, it was a good thing we passed wasn’t it?” Mubi said releasing his hair and reaching down to slide his palm across the other ninja’s bottom. “I love a little bit of chuunin in the rain.” He whispered grabbing the other’s hand and pulling him quickly down the street.
As Morino Ibiki walked up to the house of Naruto and Sasuke, he was concerned by the outcome of the confrontation.
He had received a note from the ninja in rehabilitation there and wasn’t sure he really wanted to know what the man had to tell him.
The note had read:
I have information that could be of crucial importance to the village and I don’t want to tell the Hokage directly. If you would listen, then I think you could confirm it for her. Aoi.
Ibiki shook off the negative feelings and knocked firmly on the door.
Sasuke stood in the doorway and Ibiki blanched. It had been quite a while since he had seen the transformed Uchiha and Sasuke had only been a female at the time, not the overburdened form he saw now.
The bulging stomach was larger than any he had witnessed on a pregnant female within the village in all his years and on the slight frame of Sasuke/Sasuru it was even more pronounced. The dark circles under obsidian eyes told of sleep depravation and the swollen ankles of a mild amount of toxemia. Sasuke looked like shit.
“You are looking well, Sasuru-chan. I don’t mean to bother you, but I was supposed to meet with Aoi-san today.” He said, and Sasuke smirked.
“Come on in. He’s in the back watching Koibito. I’ll show you the way.” Sasuke said, leading him through the house.
Aoi sat on the largest of the swings and held the small boy on his lap. Ibiki recognized the baby as one of the Orochimaru clones immediately by the longish hair and pale complexion that was identical to the child of Hatake-san and Umino-san’s. He watched as Aoi handed the child to the already overburdened Uchiha who set the baby down and held his hand as he waddled beside his father on up to the door. Aoi chuckled at them when they had disappeared through the door.
“Itachi is right. His brother is cute as a girl, but I can’t help remember him at thirteen and this just gets so funny. The two teenage ninja’s who defeated me then, have defeated me again and then they invited me to be part of their little family. You have to laugh, don’t you?” and Ibiki stared at him until he had stopped chuckling. “Okay, so you don’t. But I do. The Village of the Rain has taken in more missing ninja’s than any other in the land. I know that there is a meeting that takes place in the stone country and most of the local class ‘A’ criminals come to it. They are then, recruited by the rain, since their own people fail to make very good ninja’s in the long run. The three that passed at the last exam were the best we had to offer. Sorry, bad habit. The best ‘they’ had to offer.”
“And what are you telling me? That I should trust you and put myself in danger to prove that this is accurate?”
“The next meeting is this month. There is said to be a very strong ninja coming and I think you will be interested.” Aoi said, standing and facing his old enemy. “I am truly sorry for the things of the past, Morino-san. I cannot undo them but I would if I could. Idate was a good boy and should have passed that exam, but I failed him. I won’t let it happen again.”
“Who is this person?” Ibiki said, staying aloof.
“Tsurugi Misumi of the still-missing Sound Ninjas. He was last seen in the company of the demon brothers, Gouzu and Meizu. The Rain Country wants him.”
“It would be bad if they had him. I will go, but first I will arrange for you to accompany me. If this is a trick, I will kill you immediately. If it is true, I will need your assistance. Do you agree?”
Aoi looked around the yard he had come to think of as home. He would not wish to see any danger come to his second family and so would go to great lengths to protect them. Plus, he was bored and this was a mission if nothing else. “You may need more than just me.” He agreed.
“I know. I have a few others in mind. I will come for you tomorrow. Be ready to leave and be gone for some time.” And the elder Morino turned and left.
Three days later, the group, consisting of Morino Ibiki, Rokushou Aoi, Shizune and Yajirobee headed through the border of the Stone country.
Meanwhile back in the cottage, Sasuke was cold and lonely.
Itachi was working again and Naruto was on a short mission and would return late that evening. So Sasuke was trying to relax while Koibito took a nap.
She had drawn a bath and was currently lounging in the warm water, enjoying the fact that the fluid supported the added weight on her hips and eased her burden.
She had been tense all morning it was causing a backache that wouldn’t go away no matter how she shifted and a shooting pain kept crossing her shoulder and down her thighs.
The water helped as it soothed her sore muscles and warmed her chilled body. Sasuke sighed as she sank lower until all that was above the surface was the very top of her belly and area about the size of a basketball, her knees and her head from the nose up.
After a long enough soak to wrinkle her fingers and toes, Sasuke crawled to her knees and climbed out of the tub wrapping an oversized towel around her as she waddled down the hall.
She peeked in the nursery to check on her sleeping son, smiling at him as he lay in his crib, his stuffed Kyuubi under his arm and his thumb held firmly by a coiled tongue. His har was growing longer and Sasuke considered again whether it should be cut or not.
As she turned from the door the cramping from earlier returned and she held the doorframe as she waited for it to pass. Then, she continued on to the room she shared with the blond to dress before she went down to make dinner.
Naruto was running late, since his mission to deliver a scroll to the Mizukage in the Hidden mist village had hit a snag when the man refused to see him and he’d had to sneak into the offices and surprise the man by turning up in front of him in the guise of Zabusa and nearly scaring him to death.
The old man had finally accepted his scroll and had one for him to return in answer before he had allowed the blond to leave.
Now, as the lights of Konoha came into view, Naruto was relieved to finally be home.
Sasuke felt the presence of the woman before she had seen her, and so she had put Koibito into the cordoned off area of the living room and turned to the chakra signature that she didn’t recognize and spoke clearly.
“If you’re looking for Itachi or Naruto perhaps you could try back later. Otherwise it is just impolite to enter a house without knocking on the door.” She said.
“Well, I wasn’t really looking for either of them. I had heard that one of them was looking for me?” the woman said coming into view and leaning against the far wall near the kitchen. “I am Kamizuru Suzumebachi. Do you know what that Uzumaki guy wants with me?” she continued.
“I don’t really. Perhaps you should ask him when he returns. He is due back soon.” Sasuke admitted sensing a dark mood from the woman.
“That bug. Did it ever leave him?” was asked as Sasuke stared at her.
“Bug? Do you refer to the bikouchuu? It is around him quite a bit. I think we got so used to it, we don’t even think about it much. Most of its eggs have gone to Shino and Shibi-san. It plays with the baby these days.” She said indicating Koibito in the play area.
“I see. Well, then perhaps you won’t mind if I stick around and see it. Old friends and all.” The bug woman said, glaring at him.
“Hmm, I don’t think you need to wait here. It will be hours and I have a lot of work to do. Come back later.” She insisted.
“I don’t think you understand. I will stay right here and wait for the stupid blond idiot and there is little that you can do about it if you know what is best for your children, dear.” The woman said dropping onto the couch and glaring at Sasuke.
“I don’t think you understand.” Sasuke repeated her eyes blazing with Sharingan. “I said wait elsewhere, this is my home and I don’t want you here. Now, if you will leave peacefully I won’t have to get forceful.”
“In your condition. I am just shaking in my sandals.” The woman scoffed.
“Kamizuru-chan, I don’t think you realize who you are speaking to, so I will give you one last chance. Leave my house.” and the Uchiha turned to begin some signs that she had learned from Naruto and they had practiced together.
“I could just summon my queen bee, would that convince you to let me stay? I would really hate to hurt a helpless fat woman but if you force me.” And then she scoffed at the smirk Sasuke sent her way.
“Go ahead and send for your queen. I thought you should meet a friend of Naruto and mine.” And she finished the jutsu summoning the small orange frog, Gamakichi. “Gamakichi do you think your father would like to meet her bee friend?” Sasuke asked and the little frog smiled widely.
“Well, Pops did have a big lunch, but he always likes a little snack in the evening.” The small orange amphibian admitted.
“What? Who are you talking about?” Suzumebachi said, sitting up.
“Why the boss of all frogs. Gamabunta. He is a very good friend of Naruto’s and stops by every so often. We like the atmosphere and stay to play with little Koibito.” The little frog said jumping off of the stool he was on to make his way over to the tyke.
“Are you trying to make a fool of me, you little bitch?” the bee woman said, rising and closing on Sasuke. “I could just rip your hair out by the roots and toss your bulky body out the window. It figures that Uzumaki would take up with a tactless wench like you, he is so low class and all.”
“I don’t think you should say things like that. My brother and I have a habit of loosing our temper and you are certainly pushing the right buttons to see It.” Sasuke said, her fingers flexing in frustration.
“Like I care what some street slut that would sleep with a demon cares. You should be more careful of how you treat your houseguests, Honey.” And the woman reached out and caught hold of Sasuke’s collar and jerked it a few times for good measure. Sasuke had to compensate for the lower center of gravity as she dropped out of the other’s grasp and swung her leg around knocking the Kamizuru woman to her knees. Then she grabbed hold of the short brown tresses and yanked back, pulling them until the woman was nearly bent in two holding onto her scalp and crying out. Sasuke pushed hard with her free hand and sent the woman toward the wall, gloating in the resounding crash that filled the house when contact was made.
Suzumebachi slid to the floor and rolled over regaining her feet and leaping to the side, aiming a kick directly at the bulging midsection of the Uchiha as she launched across the room. Sasuke dodged and the kick connected with her arm, temporarily disabling her and as she rolled away, she balanced on her good arm using her legs to flip the woman into the air and landing her directly in the largest of their living room chairs and landing herself directly over her enemy to focus her Sharingans into the woman’s plain brown eyes. Suzumebachi stared into the whirling pools of red and saw the twinkling lights.
“Who are you?” was the last thing she said before she was overcome by the power of the Seidan.
“None of your damn business, bitch.” Sasuke said, climbing off of the now sleeping woman and straightening up. Her back ached and her legs were sore and this was more than she needed today. She checked Koibito and then after asking Gamakichi to watch the little boy, she headed to the kitchen to make herself some tea.
Naruto decided to wait before reporting to Tsunade and he headed for his little cottage. Outside the door he was met by a small orange frog, which was clearly distressed.
“Gamatatsu? What are you doing here?” he asked as the little creature bounded back and forth in front of the door.
“Oh, Naruto-kun. I was coming with Gamakichi-niisan and we got separated. I can’t get in and no one is answering. Are you going into the house?” it asked and he narrowed his eyes as he regarded the little cottage.
“Why was Gamakichi coming here?” he asked the air around him. Like it had always done, the little frog mistook his question as being directed at it, so answered.
“Gamakichi was summoned. That nice pretty lady, Sasuke called him so I wanted to come and play with the baby.” And Naruto reached for the doorknob.
The door swung open and Naruto stepped in. The little frog bounded ahead and the blond followed it to the living area of the house where he was met with a sight.
Bond and gagged in the most comfortable chair they owned was a woman in her mid twenties with short brown hair and a lightly tanned complexion. She was sleeping and had a few bruises scattered around her body.
Koibito called out from his play area and the blond looked up. “Nuto! Bad wady. Suskie fight.” And the baby reached for his father who picked him up and smiled at him.
“Okay, okay. So, Sasuke fought with the bad lady. Where is Sasuke now, Bito?” he asked.
“Suskie.” Koibito called pointing to the hall that led to the kitchen and Naruto headed that way.
He heard the sound of pans banging and stepped into the doorway, seeing his love with her back to him standing in front of the stove, cooking.
Normally, this would not have bothered the blond, but Sasuke hadn’t cooked in days, saying the smell of the stove made her sick. So, Itachi and Aoi had overseen all the cooking lately. Tonight neither man was in evidence and Sasuke was obviously taking it out on the stove and kitchenware.
“Suskie!” the baby called and the dark-haired ninja in drag turned around and glared at them both.
“Hey, Sasuke. Did we have company tonight?” Naruto asked and immediately knew this was not a good joking night. “You know, you aren’t supposed to beat up everyone that comes to our house cause they don’t bring wine the next time they stop over then.”
“That woman called me names and said some really rude things in my house. Don’t even tell me I wasn’t supposed to fight with her.” And she slammed the pan onto the stove. “She also said some things about you that I am sure you will appreciate.” Sasuke added.
“I don’t care if she said bad things. You are supposed to introduce her to your little friend Dainichi, not beat the crap out of her first.” Naruto suggested.
“I can introduce her to the Dainichi anytime, but I can’t beat the crap out of her afterwards, now can I?” and she scooped something out of the pan and began dishing it up onto three plates. “Itachi is going over to Gai’s so it’s just the three of us tonight. Aoi is on a mission with Morino-san. Grab her plate and let’s go.”
Suzumebachi opened her eyes to find herself tied and the couple were sitting around her talking about some mission that Naruto had returned from while the baby sat on the blond’s lap and grabbed pieces off of his plate. She shifted and groaned when one of the ropes cut into a bruise on her arm.
“I see you are awake. Well, are you hungry? We only have soba noodles and some Udon but it should be filling.” Sasuke asked as Naruto handed her the baby and moved to sit near the woman and lifted a plate.
“You aren’t going to feed me?” she asked in surprise.
“You did attack my lover, I doubt I can just release you. I mean, it wasn’t very polite of you, and all.” He said, lifting a pair of chopsticks and angling some noodles toward her.
“But, it’s humiliating.” She insisted.
“No one is here, but me and Sasuru. Unless you are embarrassed in front of some frogs and a twelve-month-old baby.” He responded and Sasuke smirked.
“Why were you looking for me?” she asked before accepting the bite of food.
“Ahh, that. Let’s just say that I have never felt right about the whole bikouchuu incident. I want to make it up to you and your clan.” And her eyes lit up as she heard his words. “If you will allow us to use a healing jutsu on you, I will give you the next two eggs that the original, and one of the later bugs that seem attached to me, have laid. They are due in a few days, so you will need to decide right away. I mean the jutsu takes a while to complete.”
“Healing? I am not sick. What are you planning?” Suzumebachi asked her eyes narrowing on the pair.
“Have you ever heard of Uchiha Itachi?” Sasuke said and the woman turned to her quickly.
“He’s dead!” she said repeating the popular rumor.
“No, he’s fine. He happens to be my brother and he’s working late tonight and then spending his evening with his lover. I’m sure you will meet him soon enough though.”
“Itachi was treated with the Jutsu. He has returned to the service of the Leaf and is now a trusted member of society again. That is all we want for you. Will you trust us, Kamizuru-san?” Naruto asked.
The bee woman glared at him as she chewed on the noodles and swallowed carefully.
“You aren’t trying to steal our secrets for the Aburame clan?” She asked.
“If I wanted to reproduce your Jutsus I need only watch them.” Sasuke said her Sharingans wheeling as she brought them into play.
“You are an Uchiha. I see, then this is a form of Sharingan and there is no way to avoid it. Then, why do you ask me?” the woman said, resignedly.
“I won’t do it without your permission. Though I will admit that the next time you attack me, I will kill you, if you refuse. I went easy on you tonight. My condition does not allow for so much activity. I should let Naruto kill you now for making my back hurt so much. I hate these cramps.” And at her words Naruto was up and across the room.
“Cramps? You didn’t tell me about any cramps. What happened?” he interrogated forgetting their guest for a moment.
“Nothing, Dobe. Just concentrate on the events of the evening. I’m fine.” She said, calming him and turning to the woman at the end of the table. “So? What is it to be?”
“I’ll take the eggs and the jutsu, as long as you assure me that I am free to go when you are finished and that you aren’t going to brain wash me into becoming a Leaf ninja.”
“We don’t need to bring in new ninja’s that way. And besides, Shino and I have already agreed that keeping you from having one of the Bikouchuu is wrong, that is why we are giving you Gomasuri and Tengu’s new babies. You had better take good care of them. It is a chance, Suzumebachi. Don’t blow it.” Naruto said using the names he had given to his lifelong miniature companions.
They tended to be less intrusive these days, but the little vermin were always about and the many offspring had been spread throughout the Aburame’s like a treasured gift. His own Brown-Noser had born most of the babies given to the higher ranking elders and when he had not found the Long-Nosed Goblin before it had become attached to him, they had forgiven him fairly easily. As it turned out they were both females and the new addition to his bug fan club was as prolific as its mother.
The meal finished Naruto took Koibito to bed and checked on the two special Aburame containers that his ‘pets’ were kept in during the pre-birth and nodded at them.
Sasuke began to untie the Kamizuru woman and when Naruto returned she had her loose and was staring at her with animosity that was readily returned.
“What now?” she asked.
“You should try to attack me. I mean you want to don’t you?”
“Of course, but I gave my word. I can’t attack you if I am going to submit.” Suzumebachi was very confused now.
“You have to attack in order to submit. Naruto I think you have made a bad decision here. This bitch isn’t going to keep her word. I think you would be better off just keeping the little pests. Why do I have to deal with foolish ugly women when we could just go to bed and forget the whole foolish idea? I am a little heated up, too.” Sasuke said leaning closer to the Uzumaki and pressing her girth into his body.
Naruto smiled at the wanton look in his lover’s eyes and turned to see the steam coming from the Kamizuru ears.
“Is it working?” Sasuke whispered into his ear following the question with a flirty little giggle.
Naruto ran his hand over her back and down to the widening hips that were straining under the weight of the two small lives within. “Seems like it. She’s about to blow. Something about calling a woman a bitch, only works out in a good way for Kiba.”
It was only a matter of minutes before Sasuke turned to catch a fist aimed in her direction and met the fiery gaze with the whirling Sharingan and the Dainichi burst into being.
Suzumebachi fell into the waiting arms of the Uzumachi man and Sasuke doubled over as a painful cramp sent her to the floor.
::: And what will they do now???
I am so worried.
Marielle – No seal for little Chigiri. Remember the whole Nara family no tattoo rule?? What old guy, indeed?
Vashta – glad to make you happy. Itachi is to busy realizing what he was missing, he don’t have time to raise any Uchiha’s right now. I like him and Gai spending their time getting better acquainted.
Serenia – thank you for the sentiment. I had to take some time off of writing for the holiday. Sorry for the late update. I live in a home with an eleven-year-old boy and sometimes he demands attention. God forbid, I should tell him that I have to write and can’t play battleship for the seven millionth time. And now he’s trying to teach me how to play yu-gi-oh. He gets real mad when I pick the cards because they are cute or sexy instead of because of their attack points and defenses. It’s really funny.
Next chapter is Little Ninja’s and Big Ninja’s, the only difference is the size of their Kunai
.
