Naruto yawned a little before walking past him.



"Morning..."



"Long night?" the Uchiha smirked.



There were times Naruto wanted to belt Sasuke in his lip. When they approached his office, Sasuke couldn't help but smirk as Naruto quickly reassembled all the pictures and paperwork back on his desk. Sasuke chuckled to himself, handing Naruto some papers.



"The desk is strictly for work, not play, but hey, I've been wrong before."



"I'm gonna hit you..." Naruto growled, blushing.



Naruto took the papers and saw they were the layouts for both the upcoming exams. His eyes widened and he looked at the smirking and nodding Sasuke.



"You've GOTTA be kidding me!"



Sasuke shook his head, popping his neck in the process. God forbid Sakura let him get one decent night of sleep.



"Nope. The Kage Battles are coming up."



"We STILL do this?! Gimme a freaking break!"



Sasuke shrugged.



"Blame the old men on the damn committee. Apparently, with two main Kages being female and two being male, they want to test your strengths. Don't sweat it, those old farts didn't let Tsunade move a muscle without their approval first."



Naruto sighed and groaned. He knew that the committee of the elderly shinobi didn't really care for the 'Kyuubi' to be Hokage, but what could they do? For that matter, what could Naruto do? He read through the papers until he came to the line-up.



"So, I guess every Hokage had to go through this. Damn, it's time like this that make me wish I had two kids: One to cheer for Hinata, the other for me."



Sasuke chuckled a little and stuck his hands inside the pockets of his black pants.



"C'mon, it's not that bad. Beside, the exercise will do you well. Not to mention, it's right after the Gennin exams anyway. I'm taking my class on a special mission to prepare. Why don't you and Hinata do the same?"



Naruto shook his head.



"She STILL has a city to run, you know."



"No matter. Here, tell you what..."



Sasuke put his hand on the desk while his other on his hip and smirked at the Hokage.



"The line up is as followed: Temari Vs Hinata, you VS Gaara, then eventually, it'll come down to Hinata and you. After all this is said and done, why don't we all head to the beach with our families?"



It was Naruto's turn to smirk.



"Lemme guess, SA-KU-RA wanted to go, right?"



Sasuke sighed in defeat.



"If we don't go soon, she'll kill me."



Naruto sat back and thought about it. A little vacation wouldn't hurt, PLUS it's not like they were under any real threat. This would be his first family outing with both Hinata AND Hikaru in a long time. He looked at Hikaru's picture and sighed. Not to mention, Hiashi Hyuuga hadn't been heard from and as he thought earlier, there was really no threat. Naruto nodded with a small grin.



"Sounds good, Sasuke! I can't wait!"



Sasuke nodded and looked at the clock. It was almost noon and the Kage meeting was in an hour.



"You'd better go and wake up Hinata-San."



"Yeah, yeah..." he yawned.



Before they both left the office, Naruto asked,



"How's Hikaru?"



"Getting too friendly with Hikari, dammit." Sasuke huffed.



"Ah, c'mon, Sasuke-Kun,"



Naruto put his arm around Sasuke's shoulder with a grin.



"We're already like brothers! If our kids get married, we'd be in-laws!"



Sasuke felt sick to his stomach and sent Naruto on his way with a huge lump on his head. He pouted, muttering,



"That's no way to treat a Hokage, Sasuke-Baka..."



"JUST GET YOUR ASS IN GEAR, USURATONKACHI!" Sasuke barked.



Naruto headed on to his room, noticing Hinata had done two things: Made up the bed and had taken the liberty of running a shower. He walked to the bathroom adjacent to the bed and smiled when he could see the sillouette of his wife showering. He undressed once more and entered, silencing his wife's yelp of surprise with a forceful kiss. Hinata knew she was doomed. Fifteen minutes later, both Hinata, back to being dressed in her white, mini-kimono and strappy heel sandals with her long, powder-blue hair hanging down her back, was walking beside Naruto who was dressed in black pants, a white shirt and his red and white Hokage's cloak. Naruto couldn't help but notice how beautiful Hinata looked while she wore her own, pure-white cloak with Byakko's emblem on the back. The thing was longer than her kimono, of course, but he couldn't help but notice she was just all around beautiful. As the sun touched their faces, he yawned.



"I can't believe we slept for soooo long. We've got like ten minutes to grab something to eat before the meeting."



Hinata was more interested in the changes that had come to Konohagakure in just three years. People bowed, feeling very honored to see both Hinata Hyuuga, Yukikage and Naruto Uzamaki, her husband, the Hokage, together. They grabbed some food from a nearby bakery before returning to the main conference room located just down the hallway from Naruto's office. Sakura, Kiba, Shikamaru and Sasuke would be present as it was, seeing how both Kiba and Shikamaru were judging the Gennin and Chuunin exams, but Temari and Gaara had already arrived. Naruto took his place at the head of the conference table and now, officially, he was in 'Hokage' mode.



"Thank you all for being here."



Sasuke began passing out papers to Temari, Gaara, Hinata, Shikamaru and Kiba who looked at the papers. Sakura carefully went over the outline.



"I'm sure you are aware that the Kage Tournament is coming up, directly after the Gennin and Chuunin exams. The first match is as followed: Temari of Chikyugakure and Hinata of Yukigakure, during which the battle of Naruto of Konohagakure and Gaara of Sunagakure will take place in a separate location. The two people who come out victorious will fight one another in a final battle to be fought in front of the Village Elders and a selected group of our peers."



Hinata and Temari looked at one another, but Temari could only wink. Hinata smiled with a small blush. Sakura turned everything over to Naruto who went about asking about how economy and trade and such were going with other places. Kiba was assigned to judge the Temari-Hinata battle while Shikamaru would be sent to judge the Gaara-Naruto battle. Hinata discussed how the restoration of Yukigakure was almost at one-hundred percent completion. Temari discussed how the Tsuchikage of Iwagakure, Chikyugakure's sister-city, had passed away and now, both cities wanted to combine forces, making Temari Chikyukage of two cities at once. Naruto agreed it was a good idea, seeing how beyond Iwagakure's massive land borders, was the endless field of grass and hidden in it, was Chikyugakure. Temari had just now recently acquired a lot of land of which was was hoping to expand and explore. Lastly had been the discussion of choosing Ambassadors from each city. Gaara would be sending his apprentice-made-wife, Matsuri, to act as apprentice whilst Hinata chose Richi as her ambassador, Naruto chose Sasuke, naturally, and Temari, much to his upset, would choose Shikamaru. That way, the most trusted people in that Kage's life could be trusted with information to keep all the villages connected. The meeting would have concluded if Gaara hadn't stood up with a small sigh.



"Naruto-San."



"What's wrong, Gaara?"



Gaara took a deep breath, knowing everyone must know the information he possessed.



"Hiashi Hyuuga was seen arriving in Sunagakure yesterday morning."



Everyone froze, but Hinata seemed the most affected and out of habit, her her hand to her stomach, despite the fact there was no baby to harm within her.



"Wh...what?!" Sakura asked.



Gaara nodded and looked at Naruto.



"A special ops shinobi came from Suna to let me know this. He is apparently headed back towards Konoha and if I'm correct, it has been several years since he has been seen, correct?"



Naruto nodded with a small sigh. Great, so much for peace and quiet.



"It's two week's walking from Suna to Konoha. I can arrange it so that I have my Gennin and Chuunin hopefuls here for their exams early, like two days from now, if possible. While I doubt he will do anything to the Gennin and Chuunin exams, it is the Kage exams I'm worried about."



"Two days, Naruto-Kun?!" Hinata asked, standing.



Naruto sighed a little bit. He didn't like rushing things, but he knew the moment Hiashi Hyuuga blew back into town, there would be trouble. Temari sighed, looking at Naruto.



"I'm not sure if we can round up the Gennin and Chuunin from BOTH countries in time. There are two teams of three coming from both and we only got here so soon because of Shukaku and Gaara and even then, it was an entire day's walk."



"Try your best. The Elders demand the Kage Tournament be held the day after the Gennin and Chuunin exams. Will four days be enough to gather the the future Gennin and Chuunin hopefuls and return them here?"



Everyone nodded reluctantly. Go figure things wouldn't be peaceful for long. Naruto looked at Hinata with a small sigh.



"I don't want to scare you, Hinata-Chan, but..."



"I understand. I'll have Yukigakure on full alert. So will the Kage Tournament be held...?"



Naruto nodded, addressing everyone this time around.



"In just five days, the Kage tournament will commence. I know it's a lot in a short time, but..."



Naruto stood up, looking at everyone.



"With Hiashi Hyuuga, we just cannot take any chances. I'm going to the Hyuuga household later to see if there is anything I can do..."



"Not likely."



Hinata stood with a sigh.



"Everyone is terrified of Hiashi Hyuuga and will do his will at any given moment."



"But we cannot allow that crazy bastard to continue to terrorize Konoha!" Kiba yelled.



"He hasn't been seen in three years. I'd hardly call that terrorizing." Shikamaru sighed, extingushing his cigarette.



Naruto and Hinata weren't so sure. By the time the meeting ending, Sakura knew she had to break the tension.



"And, after the tournament, everyone is invited to head to the beach!"



Sasuke was a little embarrassed, but everyone agreed the vacation would do them good, so the date was set for the end of May, when the summer days were the hottest, meaning Hiashi Hyuuga was schedualled to arrive in Konoha by the end of the first week in June. By then, all form of tests and tournaments would be done and they will have even had time to relax with old friends and new families. In their absences, Temari would leave her brother Kankuro, in charge of Chikyukagure, Gaara would leave Matsuri's apprentice, Shoko, in charge of Suna for the day, Naruto would leave Jiraiya in charge of Konoha for that day and Hinata had already decided on leaving Richi in charge of Yuki, knowing that TenTen's baby would already be born by then and Neji needed a break. As everyone left the conference room, Hinata felt Naruto grab her hand. She turned around and looked at Naruto.



"I won't let him do anything to you OR my son. We'll do these exams, have this vacation and afterwards...with both our bodies and souls revitilized, we will be able to face this no matter what."



Hinata admired her husband's confidence. She nodded and sighed. She wished her father could have stayed disappeared for another twenty years. But, she'd be sure to intercept him when he arrived in Yukigakure, because she knew for damn sure, he'd come looking for her. But wether his intentions were good or bad, she wasn't sure. Hinata shook her head. She knew she had to prepare herself for the worst, but for now, while she was in Konoha, she wanted to spend time with Naruto, her son...and then face the uncertain future.
