Chapter Five
Sasuke now laid on a futon in a make shift 'hospital' room at the Hokag's house, all the seals were already put all over the village and though the attack only happened four hours ago, everyone knew about it.
Sasuke's neck was bandaged and it only healed a little from Sakura's healing jutsu. He was still out, though very pale and they piled blankets on him to keep him warm, his ninja band put to the side.
"The Night Breed Jutsu?" The Hokage asked and Kakashi, Naruto, and Saukra nodded. "Never heard of it, so I don't know what it does." He said. "Now the symbols on their masks, none of you reconized it?"
"No sir, I've never even seen people like THEM before." Kakashi said. "Long teeth, incredibly fast and impossibly strong. It's like they weren't even...human."
"Is Sasuke going to be all right?" Sakura asked and the Hokage turned to her with a smile.
"Of course, he comes from long line of strong ninjas." He said.
"But why the hell did that woman bite him and drink his blood? Ack!" Naruto spat as if tasting the coppery fluid himself.
"I can't fathom why, but I'm sure they are the ones responsible for all those other attacks." The Hokage said. "The only difference from those attacks and Sasuke's is the use of a Jutsu."
"Wait, they did say something about choosing him." Kakashi said. "They said he was perfect, but I don't know what that was about."
"Hmmm. I'll have some people look into all this. I just need a drawing of the symbols." The Hokage said and Kakashi plucked a peice of paper from a table.
"Why do you think they wanted Sasuke sir?" Naruto asked as Kakashi drew and the Hokage shrugged.
"I'm not sure, but maybe they wanted to take him and become part of their group." The Hokage said and steam billowed off the Naruto's blonde head.
"Hey! Why do I always get left out!? Why can't someone jsut pick me once!?" Naruto yelled and Kakashi's eye slanted.
"Don't be a idiot Naruto." Kakashi gave him a light slap across the back of the head. "Would you really have wanted to be bitten and lost all that blood!? To have some strange jutsu performed on you and you don't know what it's going to do?" He scolded.
"Well no sensei." Naruto said. "It's the princepal of the matter." He said and with a sweatdrop Kakashi handed the Hokage the drawing.
"Well I'll see what I can find." The Hokage said then looked down at the hurt boy. "Come on, we better leave Sasuke to rest and recooperate."
"Of course." Sakura said and they left the small room, some guards were placed outside his door.
"Now you three get some rest, go home and you'll get word when he wakes up." The Hokage said.
"Sir, I would like to stay and keep an eye out." Kakashi said and the Hokage nodded.
"Sure, but you two," He turned to Sakura and Naruto. "Go home, with the seals up it's safe now. I don't know why I didn't think of them sooner." He said and then with a bow left. "Good night."
"Do you think Sasuke cares if you wait for him?" Naruto asked, irritation dripped from his voice. "I'm sure he doesn't give a shit!"
"Shut up Naruto!" Sakura yelled and punched him across the head.
"You two, to home and try to get some sleep." Kakashi said and the two trudged home, or rather ran. With a sigh Kakashi laid down on a mat that was put down for him to sleep on.
Inside Sasuke's room the symbol of the strangers appeared briefly on his forehead with a red glow, then disappeared.

I can't put the symbol on the computer, but it's an ancient marking of the 'dark bat people.'
