Show and Tell

It was a beautiful July day. There was a breeze moving which was quite uncommon in Konoha this time of year. The summer days were usually sweltering and humid. Ten Ten was preparing to leave her house. After all, today was Neji’s birthday and she had a question to answer. Naturally, he wouldn’t get an answer easily…he would have to fight it out of her.


Ten Ten walked with an unusual spring in her step toward the sparring field. He bounce could have been because she had recently given her innocence to the boy she had liked since her pre-teen years, or it could have been because she had other things in mind for today besides a good fight. Whatever, the case, there was a new glow in Ten Ten’s cheeks. She arrived at the sparring field right on time…no Neji. Ten Ten looked around. There was no sight of Neji. She was puzzled at first, he was never late…but then she started thought: “Where the hell is he hiding…” She squatted down low to the ground and pulled a kunai out of her pack. She glanced around in as many directions as she could, remaining still. It was at this point that she wondered why she wore a bright pink shirt…talk about indiscrete! She decided then and there that she would start wearing a new color…maybe green. She dare not move for she knew that Neji would pop out somewhere and tackle her…she blushed “I’d like that…” she thought to herself. She reached back inside her pack and pulled out a smoke bomb just to be safe.


She heard something rustle in a bush she glanced that way…it was only a squirrel…or was it a clever diversionary tactic? “Oh shit…” Ten Ten thought as a swarm of kunai flew at her head. She quickly jumped out of the way, watching as some of them stuck into a tree and others dropped to the ground.

“Nice dodge.” Neji said approaching Ten Ten.

“You used the squirrel to your advantage, didn’t you?” Ten Ten asked.

“Yeah.” Neji smiled. This was indeed a rare thing, Neji smiled a lot more these days, I guess you could say Ten Ten gave him a reason to be happy.

“Okay, well let’s go.” Ten Ten put her smoke bomb back into her pack and held her kunai in between Neji’s pale white eyes. “I have something I want to tell you…but you have to beat it out of me.” And thus the weekly spar had begun.


It wasn’t long until Ten Ten was once again defeated. She always gave it her all but Neji was just stronger than she was…call it testosterone. Breathless, Ten Ten walked over to the small stream that ran through the outer edge of the sparring field. She knelt before it and splashed water all over her face. Neji sat in front of a tree directly behind her.

“What’s wrong did I get you hot?” Neji said allowing that confident smirk to creep across his mouth. Ten Ten gritted her teeth and glared at him. She hated losing.

“You’re the one who should be hot, you wear so many clothes. Why do you wear so many layers?” Ten Ten asked, the front of her covered in water. She walked back and sat under the shade of the tree beside Neji.

“Hyuugas do that, I guess. Haven’t you seen that huge coat Hinata wears?” Ten Ten smiled. “You owe me one answer. It’s my birthday today as you know.” Neji looked at Ten Ten pushing her wet loose strands of hair away from her eyes. Ten Ten could feel that glowing feeling overtake her once again. She smiled and looked at the ground. Then she looked at Neji, her brown eyes shining. She began to nod her head.
“My answer is yes.” Ten Ten couldn’t help but smile all over. Neji had his arms outreached toward her. Ten Ten got the message and let him hug her into his body. Neji kissed her neck. He refused to release her at the moment. “Happy birthday Neji.” She said softly. She moved herself so she was facing him; she kissed him again, softly…as if perhaps she had done it before.

“Here turn around.” Neji said turning Ten Ten’s back to him. She sat in front of him, as closely to his feet as she could get. “You know, Hyuuga men are good to their women.” Neji said. Ten Ten smiled.
“Oh really? Well, you’ll have to prove that to me.” Ten Ten insisted. Neji reached up and pulled the bobby pins out of one of Ten Ten’s buns. Ten Ten could feel her hair tumbling down.

“Neji! What did you do?” Ten Ten shrieked. No one had ever seen her with her hair down…ever.
Neji laughed, “Relax, relax. I’ve never seen you with your hair down and since you’re my girlfriend I get to see it all around your shoulders.” Neji tugged her other bun down. Her long auburn hair fell in kinky waves down her back. It was long, thick and impeccably healthy. It was almost longer than Neji’s but not quite. He started running his fingers through her long wavy hair.

“Do you think Lee will ever get laid?” Ten Ten asked out of nowhere.

“Oh, he will. Give him some time.” Neji said allowing her silky hair to glide through his hands.

“But, it’s lee. He barely knows what a vagina is!” Ten Ten insisted. This amused Neji.

“No, you’re wrong. He knows…he’s just still learning about them that’s all.” Neji separated Ten Ten’s hair; he was preparing to braid it. He had just started braiding it at the base of her neck. His fingers ticked her bare skin. Ten Ten reached around and grabbed his hands.
“There’s something I want to do to you…” Ten Ten turned around and took Neji into her arms.
