Chapter 5: The Journey
The next morning Sakura went to see the Tsunade in order to tell her of her decision.
When she reached the office building Tsunade was standing outside with Shizune. “Sakura I know why you are here, but I was expecting to see you earlier I lost again?” said Tsunade.
“Yes Tsunade-sama I have and I decided to go and see him no matter what my heart has made its decision. By the way what do you mean bet you never win? Thank you, until we meet again Hokage-sama”.
“Wait just one minute Sakura I did say you could go but just not yet. Remember the team I said that will be going with you. Well they are all ready to go at the Western gate of Konoha. Also Shizune will be going with you for her own reasons and the fact what happened the last time anyone took on the Kyuubi the fourth died trying to save everyone. So the other reason is I have not one but two well trained medical ninjas on the job which makes me a little happier. Also on a more personal note please bring Naruto back home where he belongs. I am not asking as Hokage, but as someone who has seen him grow up to be a good person, so can you grant this old woman’s request. Oh and on a personal not the bet I lost was with Jiriaya and I think I am going to regret it later”.
“What did you bet with Jiriaya-sama, Hokage-sama? Anyway yes I will bring Naruto back with me. Well then Shizune shall we be off in search of Naruto”.
Sakura and Shizune left the building and proceeded to the western gate where they will meet the team picked by the Hokage to bring back Naruto.
When Sakura and Shizune reached the gate they found a crowd of people at the gate and the two pushed through the crowd to get to the front of the gate. There the recognized not one, but several people. Ino, Shikamaru, Chouji, Neji, Rock Lee, Tenten, Hinata, Kiba, Shino, Kakashi, Yamato, Jiriaya, Iruka, and the entire academy were there at the gate.
“Sorry about the kids but we couldn’t just leave the kids at the academy so we brought them along to send you all off. Besides they have all heard of Naruto and they all wanted to wish you good Luck”, said Iruka.
“PLEASE BRING BACK NARUTO” said all of the academy students at once.
“Hey Sakura can I talk to you before you go”, said Shikamaru.
Sakura and Shikamaru talked for a little while before Iruka started to take the academy students back to school.
Everyone then took their time and telling them to be careful and bring back Naruto. After everyone left the only ones to remain were Yamato, Kakashi, and Jiriaya.
Jiriaya then said, “Well Sakura, everyone shall we be off and find that knucklehead”.
“Excuse me Jiriaya-sama but why are you going with us”
“Because he was and still is one of my students, and in some ways he is the son I never had. Besides he reminds me of my previous student who died when the Kyuubi attacked all those years ago”, said Jiriaya.
“Your previous student who was that”, said Sakura.
“The fourth Hokage, my sensei”, said Kakashi.
“I did not know that your sensei was the fourth Hokage Kakashi-sensei. Why did you not tell us that he was your teacher?”
“Because it was none of your business and I keep my past to myself. Enough of this talking should we not get going we don’t want to lose Naruto if he moves again”.
“Excuse me Jiriaya-sama what did you bet with Tsunade-sama?”
“Oh that something that she will only regret when we get back, and it is something a long time in the making. She agreed to go out with me on a date and ignore our titles and we are nothing more than a man and woman on a date”.
“Jiriaya and Tsunade, two of the legendary Sanin on a date, but I guess it could be worse…” said Kakashi.
Jiriaya decided this was enough and held out his hand and said, “RASENGAN” and in his hand a swirling blue orb. “Kakashi any more of that and this is for you”.
As Jiriaya was walking toward Kakashi with the Rasengan in his hand the next thing anyone knew was both Kakashi and Jiriaya knocked against a tall tree with a very large impression of the figures that once stood. Sakura stood there where the two shinobi once stood and said, “That is enough both of you. Our mission is to go and retrieve Naruto and not fight amongst ourselves. Who cares what Jiriaya and Tsunade have planned after the mission because it is their business and not anyone else’s? DO I MAKE MYSELF PERFECTLY CLEAR, Kakashi-sensai and Jiriaya-sama”.
