--------------------------------------------------------------------

Iruka wound a towel around his waist and dried his hair with the other. He stared at his wardrobe, trying to decide what to wear. It was Sunday and he had bought a few beers earlier, Asuma's parties were known to be anything but dry, so Iruka didn't want to be the only one without anything to drink. At a knock at the window, Iruka turned quickly around just to see Kakashi hanging halfway in from his windowsill.

"You could use the door, you know," said Iruka to Kakashi before he could get a word out of his mouth.

"Now, come in or stay out, but don't hang halfway in," snapped Iruka with his teacher voice.

Kakashi still just stared at him. A small drop of blood dropped on the floor from under the mask somewhere around where Kakashi's nose hid. Slowly he regained his composure and slipped inside. Just then Iruka remembered that he was half naked and wrapped the other towel around his shoulders. Kakashi looked wary and dirty. He must have come straight from his mission.

"There are things we have to talk about," said Iruka, trying to hide behind his towels. Kakashi stared at him, he had never seen Iruka with his hair loose.

After a while he answered, "I know. We should talk. You are coming to Asuma's party, aren't you?" he asked. Iruka nodded as an answer.

"Well, I just wanted to see you as soon as I got back from my mission," Kakashi said and walked near Iruka.

"I should head back home, have a shower and few hours of shut eye," he continued. Then Kakashi landed a soft kiss on Iruka's lips. "See you tonight," he said and was gone before Iruka could reply.

Iruka stood there, dumbfounded. Did Kakashi actually have a nosebleed after seeing him wearing only a towel? Iruka wondered. He never had thought that he was nosebleed material. It surely felt good to see how strong an impact he had had on Kakashi. Iruka smiled to himself and turned his gaze back to his wardrobe. What to wear, such a problem. He put the other towel over a door to dry and left the other one around his waist. He took shirts and pullovers to his bed and combined them with different trousers.

Iruka was all smiles after seeing Kakashi. The jounin was all he had thought about these days. It had distracted him at work, and he didn't seem to be able to do anything right anymore. All he could think about was Kakashi and the night they had spent together. The warmth of his body, the gentle touch of his fingers, and the soft kisses of his lips...

And here we go again, thought Iruka, what can I say, obviously, I have fallen for him. A warm and fuzzy feeling filled him inside, and the wide smile on his face was starting to hurt. He felt like an idiot leering there, wearing only a towel and staring at clothes. If someone had seen him they would've called medical ninjas to lock him in an institution.

After few hours of tough assessment, Iruka decided to wear a black dress shirt and dark trousers. True, it was a bit of a dark outfit, but in winter it was okay. He combed his hair and pulled it into a ponytail. He added some cologne that he seldom wore.

Although it's me saying so, I look pretty nice, Iruka complemented himself. He was nervous. He had contemplated his situation quite long and he had come to a conclusion. He didn't mind if others knew if they started dating, all though it would be better if the children didn't know. It would be way too awkward to try to explain to them why he was dating a man. The other conclusion was that he wanted to get to know Kakashi better. He would like to give it a run for the money. The jounin was in his mind all the time anyway, so it wouldn't change Iruka's situation much. It was all part of the fun, of course. He could be close to the man and have the year’s long frustration eased at last. And hell, it surely would be nice to have someone special in his life. It had been so long since Iruka had had a relationship that he had almost forgotten the reason why people had them.

The time was half past nine. Iruka had decided to go to the party at ten. It was usually a good time to go to Asuma's parties—most of the people were still in decent shape, and he wouldn't be the first one to arrive. Iruka took a last look at himself from a mirror before leaving. The weather was chilly and the sky was clear. A few fireworks exploded in the sky, making a loud bang. Iruka didn't have his gloves on, his hands were cold so he pushed them into his pockets.

Asuma didn't live far away and soon the noises could be heard. It was a party alright—music was playing quite loud and there were people on the yard smoking cigarettes and chatting.

"Oi, Iruka. So you did come alone after all!" Asuma yelled, "Where did you leave her, or is she already here?"

"Evening. I told you already, I don't have a girlfriend," Iruka answered and walked in.

It was dim inside. People were sitting or standing in groups talking. Iruka looked around, he didn't see Kakashi anywhere. He probably slept long after a difficult mission and hasn't arrived yet, Iruka assumed.

"Iruka, nice that you came." It was Kurenai. She was dressed as sexy as ever. Iruka scolded himself for even thinking that, Kakashi really had woken his sleeping libido.

"Hi Kurenai. Quite a party you have here."

"Thanks. So you didn't bring your girlfriend?" Kurenai asked in a honey voice.

"Hmh, well, I don't have a girlfriend," Iruka said, a little embarrassed.

"Oh, I'm sorry... it's just that Asuma said..." Now it was Kurenai's turn to feel awkward.

"I told Asuma that I don't have one. Hopefully he hasn't told that to too many people," Iruka hoped, and the expression on Kurenai's face told him that Asuma had told everybody. Iruka sighed. It's gonna be long night.

Iruka walked around and found a group of other chunins sitting on a couch. He pulled up a chair and joined them. Of course, the first thing he had to explain to them was that he didn't have a secret girlfriend. It took quite a lot of convincing to get them to believe she wasn't an underage kunoichi or a married woman, and above all, there was no she.

Iruka shook his head. He couldn't believe what a mess it was to clear up a little misunderstanding. The time seemed to fly, and after awhile, Iruka had to take a leak. On his way to the toilet, he noticed the familiar, spiky white head. He walked to him and softly patted Kakashi's shoulder. The man spun around and looked deep into his chocolate brown eyes. The jounin's expression was unreadable.

"Hi," said Iruka and tried to smile. Kakashi pulled him aside from the others.

"Why didn't you tell me you had a girlfriend. It isn't nice to come to a party and hear that the hottest topic is you and some chick." The hurt shone from Kakashi's voice.

"But I don't," hissed Iruka between his teeth. "Asuma got into his head that I have a girlfriend. I did tell him, on many occasions, that I don't, but he won't listen."

While Kakashi processed what Iruka had just said, he looked at him like he was trying to find signs of mischief. Iruka expected him to lift his hitai-ate and examine him with his sharingan at any moment.

"Are you sure?" he finally asked.

"Of course I'm sure," said Iruka, trying to sound like his pride was hurt, but really, he was smiling to himself.

"Ok. That's good," Kakashi said, relieved. "So, if you don't have a girlfriend, would you be my date?" he continued.

So this was it. Kakashi wanted more than just what he had already gotten.

"I could be your date. So does this mean that we're dating?" asked Iruka. Kakashi didn't answer right away. So he hasn't thought it through yet, Iruka decided.

"If you want it to mean that," Kakashi said inquiringly.

"That's not an answer," said Iruka, laughing.

Kakashi stood straight and said "Ok, so we're dating. Was that an answer?"

Iruka cast sidelong glances, making sure that no one was looking and landed a quick kiss on Kakashi's mask covered lips.

"Now I have to visit the toilet."

"I'll be waiting around here," said Kakashi, and Iruka hurried to the toilet.

Iruka's heart was jackhammering. Ok, so now we're dating, what now? Iruka thought. They should talk about how open they were going to be about it. Of course they weren't announcing anything, and probably no one would care even if they were, but they were on a date, so could he hold Kakashi's hand, or should they only hang out together?

Iruka leaned against the wall and tried to calm down. His cheeks were flushed, and the butterflies had started their fluttering inside his stomach. When his face was looking as it should and not as red as a fire engine, Iruka left the toilet. He walked to the place where he had talked with Kakashi and looked around. Kakashi was standing nearby, talking to Might Gai. Iruka wasn't sure if he should go over there or not. Kakashi's posture told him that he was bored, so Iruka went to them.

"Now tell me, have you lost our competition and shown up without a date?" asked Gai as Iruka joined them. Kakashi looked awkward. Iruka could feel the colour vanishing from his face. Was that all this was, a wager? Kakashi looked at him and shook his head slightly as if he had read Iruka's mind.

"I told you that this was a stupid challenge and I don't want to compete with you," answered Kakashi to Gai.

"So you're afraid of the challenge! I knew it! So you didn't bring anyone?" Gai pressed. Kakashi looked as indifferent as ever and sighed.

"Ok, you win."

"My dear rival Kakashi, don't be too beaten. The springtime will reach you any day now, and you will experience the glorious feeling of being in love!" Gai yelled, gave a thumbs up, and smiled that astonishing smile of his. Iruka grinned to himself. It was a short, but awful scare. They really needed to have a talk. He didn't want anymore of these surprises. Kakashi looked at him, and Iruka could see that he was smirking.

Maybe the springtime has already got to him, thought Iruka. Or, that is, he didn't think about it... at least, not with those words. Iruka was shocked at how infectious Gai's mood was. He put his hand over his forehead and let it slowly slide to his cheek. This has to stop already.

"I'm going to fetch me another drink," Iruka stated and moved towards the kitchen. Kakashi followed on his heels. Iruka took a bottle of beer from the fridge and offered it to Kakashi.

"No thanks. I think I've had enough," said Kakshi. Iruka opened the bottle and took a sip. It was pleasantly cold and fresh. They were the only ones in the kitchen, which was odd, but Iruka didn't mind.

"So, are you bothered by being seen with me, you know, as my date?" asked Kakashi. Iruka was surprised that Kakshi was the one popping the question.

"No, not as such. But I wouldn't want the kids to know. At least not yet," Iruka answered.

Kakashi nodded, seeming to agree. Suddenly, Iruka noticed why the kitchen was so empty. He grabbed Kakashi's hand and pulled him with him.

"Hurry, I don't want to miss this," he said, rushing outside.

The brilliant colours filled the sky and the exploding sound of fireworks came from every direction. Iruka was afraid that they had missed it until someone started the countdown. Ten, nine, eight... People joined in: five, four...

Kakashi pulled Iruka close to him. With a swift movement, Kakashi lowered his mask and pulled Iruka into a fierce kiss. If there had been many fireworks exploding before, it was nothing compared to the light show in the sky at that moment. It was like a rain of coloured light, like magic. And so it felt inside Iruka, like magic. He was so happy that he could die. Iruka mingled his fingers in Kakashi's hair, pulling the man closer and making little circles with his fingers. Kakashi tasted sweet and intoxicating. He wanted this moment to last forever.

Of course it didn't. They were distracted by Gai. He was again ranting something about springtime and how beautiful love could be, his eyes like waterfalls. Iruka never saw Kakashi's hand move, but the man had his mask up again. Kakshi scratched his head and tried to look like he didn't understand what Gai was talking about. Ignoring Gai, Kakashi pulled Iruka away from the others.

"Would you mind if we left this party?" Kakashi asked. Iruka raised his eyebrow.

"We could go to your place and have a party of our own," Kakashi continued. Iruka blushed violently. Now he was sure that Kakashi did it on purpose. Kakashi smirked, enjoying Iruka's flush. Iruka thought about saying no for a second just to get back at Kakashi, but he too wanted some privacy and to see a certain kind of action as well.

"Ok, lets go. But you'd better stop teasing me," answered Iruka. Kakashi looked at him like he had never teased anyone in his life.

Iruka stopped to thank Asuma and Kurenai for the wonderful party. They seemed to be intrigued by the fact that Iruka was leaving with Kakashi, but neither of them asked anything. When they walked away, Iruka could feel several eyes staring at them and he knew what would be the main topic for the rest of the night. He didn't care. It was nice to walk home with someone. Especially when that someone was Kakashi, he smiled to himself.

The air had turned colder. Iruka was afraid that if he took his hands from his pockets his fingers would turn blue, crack, and fall off. In the impact with the street, they would shatter into a thousand little pieces that would get eaten by birds when the spring sun melted them.

"What a nice and cool night," said Kakashi, looking at the sky.

"That's an understatement. It's freezing," Iruka answered and tried to smile as the frost bit his cheeks.

Kakashi glanced at him and said, "Come here," as he pulled Iruka close to him, winding his arm around his shoulders in an attempt to massage warmth into them. It didn't do much because of the insulating effect of their jackets, but it was a nice gesture. Iruka took his keys from his pocket and quickly opened the door. They slipped in. It was dark. Iruka didn't have a chance to reach for the light switch as Kakashi pushed him against the wall and drowned him in a kiss. Iruka practically tore Kakashi's jacket off while kicking his shoes off. He couldn't say what had gotten into him, but he acted like a horny teenager eager to have at it at last, like if he wasn't aggressive and fast enough, the moment and the possibility would slip out of his reach and the spell would be broken.

But they were no boys—they were two adults knowing exactly what it all meant. It was raw exploding passion. Unprocessed, uncensored need and lust. They were tearing clothes, stripping each other naked while making their way into Iruka's bedroom. Sex was something that once you had that first taste, you would keep craving for more. The hunger for it would never completely vanishing. Time could dim the memory of its pleasures, but you would never forget it, never cease to want it.

Their tongues intertwined, pushing and licking in between gasps for air. Iruka tangled his hand into Kakashi's hair, his other explored Kakashi's firm body. Their hard, wet members rubbed against each other. He broke the kiss and lowered his head to Kakashi's pulse. He nibbled the skin, sucked it, bruised it. Kakashi breathed heavily.

The primitive urge took over again. Kakashi pushed Iruka on his back and went down on him. Iruka gasped as the wet, hot mouth closed around his aching member. He quivered and moaned, the warmth around his cock pushing him closer to that peak. He moved his hips, pushing himself deeper into Kakahsi's mouth. Kakashi paused for a second before he continued, a slippery digit experimentally circling his hidden passage. Slowly it pushed inside. Iruka panted and moaned aloud. This was just what he wanted. He pushed against the finger, making it sink deeper. Oh, God he was near.

"S-stop, please... I don't want to come yet," Iruka managed.

Kakashi stopped sucking him, but slid another finger inside him. It felt weird, but it didn't hurt. Iruka had been afraid of the pain; it had been so long since anyone had been inside him. The fingers started moving. They scissored inside, stretching him. They pushed deeper and found the tight bundle of nerves. Iruka's back arched and a long raspy moan came from his throat. Kakashi lay down beside him and pulled him close. His fingers stayed inside Iruka as he wrapped his hand around both of their arousals. Iruka caressed Kakashi's back and kissed his neck. Kakashi's hand started moving, rubbing their erections together. The fingers pushed in and out in the same rhythm with the strokes.

Iruka's head was filled with greedy yen. He wanted so much to reach the peak, and at the same time, he didn't want this to stop. He pushed against Kakashi's fingers, wanting them deeper. He bit Kakashi's neck as the radiant orgasm blew his consciousness. A torrent of spasms shook him and made him whimper. Kakashi reached his peak soon after him. The white essence flooded to their abs, mixing.

As the post-orgasmic high settled down, Iruka felt a bit empty. The all-consuming, burning need was gone. It was a fast surge of passion that never lasted long. He was glad that Kakashi was there, holding him. It felt safe and warm. In fact, a bit too warm after passionate sex.

Iruka lifted his head and looked at Kakashi. The man had pulled that darn mask over his face again. Iruka was taken aback, but he didn't want to ruin the moment by bitching to Kakashi about it. It felt too good to just lay there, feeling Kakashi's chest move up and down as he breathed.

REVIEW!!!

AN2: Whoa, how about that. What a tease. No, actually I like them to take it slow. There's no need to rush into things.
