Chapter 5 - Pre-game warm-up

Chapter 5 - Pre-game warm-up

Squall walked quietly, hand in hand, with the shorter boy next to him. He hadn’t said anything since they left the diner and walked along the sparsely populated streets amidst other pedestrians who would occasionally stop to give them curious stares. Naruto was too distraught to pay them any mind and Squall…Squall never cared when people stared at him, in fact, he was used to it.

He led him away from the crowd, away from their prying eyes and down a lonely sidewalk, towards the central park. It was risky going to a place like this so late at night, he’d heard all the horror stories about men hijacked and women raped behind the dense flora but in all the years he’d been coming here nothing untoward had ever happened to him. It could have been due to the fact that he never gave the impression one would expect of your usual victim; a wealthy businessman, a lost tourist or a bubble-headed, college-boy taking a short-cut home. Squall exuded an aura that was darker than the dimly lit park and blacker than the night’s sky because he wasn’t afraid.

He wasn’t afraid of anything.

So he liked to visit this place, at this time, since he knew no one else would be here and the shady, lonely solitude of the well-maintained landscape created a paradise that not even he could envision within his own imagination.

He led him towards his favorite spot, a white-washed park-bench carefully tucked away amongst a heavy American Elm and three large chestnut trees. Squall made a motion with his free hand, indicating for Naruto to take a seat and when he did so, the dark-haired boy occupied the space next to him.

The silence that stretched between them was awkward, a strange revelation to the demi-goth who liked the quiet but with Naruto here, it just felt wrong. He had grown used to his infinite exuberance and liked to listen to him talk non-stop about his likes, interests and dreams and even though he never contributed to the conversations himself, just being that supportive ear always made Squall feel as if Naruto needed to have him there and it was that feeling that Squall craved most of all.

He’d been alone for most of his life. His mother died during child birth and at that time his father wasn’t around so he was sent to the nearest orphanage. The matrons were kind enough and the children found happiness in each other even though they had lost their parents, but what little joy they had was stripped from them during that night when their lives changed for the worst.

America and the Soviet Union were engaged in a devastating war that had begun barely a year before his birth and after his country enlisted the aide of Britain, the Soviet retaliated with the threat of a nuclear attack. Soldiers swarmed the area, evacuating everyone within a forty mile radius of the estimated target zone. There was no gentleness to their methods, their orders were simple, ‘Get everyone out!’, and when they stormed into the dilapidated, old home, in the wee hours of the morning, barking orders to leave everything behind and dragging women and children out of bed, Squall knew that he had never been more terrified in his entire life.

The nuns begged them to be more patient with the children, they knew they were scared, but no matter how much they pleaded they were given the same cold, gruff response.

“This is a war.”

They were split up, sorted into trucks like sardines in a can and shipped to separate orphanages across the country. His new caretakers were just as heartless as those soldiers and with the addition of more children, the rooms became cramped and many resented the newcomers, even the others who had once shared their toys and played together in the backyard, distanced themselves from one another to avoid being labeled the ‘misfits’ but Squall never gave into that peer pressure and eventually, he was the only one left.

The woman that adopted him was an amateur model and her career and image were the most important things to her. The latest ‘fad’ among the stars, at that time, was having children and in an attempt to garner publicity she ‘took in’ a child who was ‘less-fortunate’.

It worked liked a charm.

Her popularity soared and she didn’t have to put her future as a model on hold by getting pregnant but Squall was nothing more to her than a rung on the ladder to success. She gave him a house, clothes and food to put in his stomach, but she never nurtured him, doted on him or spent time with him unless the paparazzi was around.

When he was old enough, she sent him off to boarding school while she continued to travel and make a name for herself and it wasn’t long before the entire world soon forgot about her estranged son and Squall was sure that she’d forgotten about him as well.

He still kept in touch with her though, but their only means of communication was through letters. He never called because he never had anything to say and even if he did manage to get through to her he was sure she’d always be too busy to share more than two words with him. Their letters became more informal and the more he wrote her, the more it seemed as if she were replying to one of her various fan mails and the frequencies of her correspondence soon dwindled from once a week, to twice a month until he was lucky if he even got a letter from her at all.

Squall didn’t mind, she’d given him more than he could hope for, she provided everything he needed and now that he no longer had to follow her around, he was free to do whatever he wanted without being bothered by nosy photographers, but there was still something he was missing from his life. An emptiness that had become his entire purpose for being demanded to be filled and what the matrons couldn’t give him and what his ‘mother’ couldn’t give him, he received from Naruto, and Naruto gave him abundantly.

That was why he hated to see him like this.

“You okay?” he asked, his voice so low it was almost lost on the wind blowing around them.

Naruto hadn’t heard him, he was so lost in his own thoughts that he wasn’t even conscious that they were still holding hands. He was just in so much shock and Sasuke’s callous words still rang loudly in his ears that it would have been impossible to hear anything else anyway.

It was just so hard to believe…he didn’t want to, but he couldn’t deny it now. He suspected that was the reason why he was suddenly so frigid towards him but he just didn’t want to accept that their relationship that had been built on a foundation of four years of friendly rivalry could be uprooted so easily just because Sasuke was homophobic.

Squall squeezed his hand lightly and that seemed to bring Naruto out of his inner musings and the light-haired boy looked up to his dark-haired lover and when he saw the concern etched into his already graven face he smiled broadly.

Kuso! He hadn’t meant to make Leon worry this much about him.

Squall wasn’t an idiot and Naruto’s forced smile didn’t fool him one bit. He was so used to his toothy grin by now that he could tell whether it was genuine or not. “You okay?” he asked again.

“Y-Yeah, I’m fine, why wouldn’t I be okay?”

“Because that bastard hurt your feelings,” Squall ground out through a tightly-clenched throat and his fists did the same, unconsciously crushing Naruto’s slightly smaller hand when he imagined punching that son-of-a-bitch again.

A soft caress brushed across his white knuckles and Squall immediately loosened his grip before apologizing.

Naruto didn’t want to ruin their precious, few moments together thinking about that jerk. He’d have plenty of time to hate him on the plane trip back. “S’okay, Leon,” he purred and brought his hand up to his mouth so he could plant a soft kiss against the pale skin covering his fingers. “I’m feeling much better now.”

Squall raised a thin, dark eyebrow and he watched as Naruto’s features easily shifted into that of the naughty seducer and his damp tongue slipped out to moisten the piece of flesh between his knuckles. Naruto lapped at his skin and moaned lustily at the taste while locking his mischievous, half-lidded gaze with Squall’s suddenly interested one.

He peeled away those, long, white fingers from his tanned own and ran the tip of his tongue against the coarse texture of his fingerprints, coating his thin digits with warm saliva before taking his index finger into his mouth and closing his lips around it. Squall stifled a gasp when the younger boy began doing delicious things to that lone finger and certain parts of his body suddenly became envious for similar attention.

“What brought this on so suddenly?” and he gasped out loud this time when Naruto pulled his hand away and his teeth scraped against his skin.

“Just in case you forgot, this is our last night together,” the blonde pouted. “Tomorrow morning we have to leave for the airport and I’ll never see you again.”

“Never’s a long time, Naruto,” he smiled when he was presented with such an adorably cute face. “It’s not like I can’t come visit you. I promised I would.”

“I know, but I don’t know how long that will be and you said you wanted to concentrate on your studies so you can pass your mid-terms so I know I won’t see you for at least two months,” he argued his voice rising significantly.

“Two months isn’t that long,” Squall shrugged, but he was dreading the separation as much as he was.

“Yeah…but not like two weeks,” and before the dark-haired boy could ask him what he meant by that, Naruto climbed into his lap and threw one leg over his lean hips, straddling his legs and wrapping his arms around his powerful shoulders.

“Naruto-,” the rest of his sentence was captured by soft, tanned lips when the teen dipped his head and abused his mouth with a desperate kiss.

“Leon,” Naruto panted heavily after breaking away for air. “I’ve been holding out for you, because you said you didn’t want sex to be a distraction while we were competing in the championships but it’s over now, and I’m at my limit, and I’m leaving tomorrow and I don’t want to go back a virgin.”

Squall chuckled and placed his hands on the other boy’s hips before pushing him away from his groin. “Why rush this, Naruto? We have a saying here, ‘Distance makes the heart grow fonder’, so let’s wait until I visit you in Japan before I take your virginity.”

“Liar,” he laughed and clicked his tongue behind his teeth. “I know you want me as much as I want you right now, so don’t say things like that to piss me off.”

“Oh?” and he tilted his head to one side, his already lop-sided smile looking even more unbalanced. “What ever gave you that idea?”

“Because I’ve seen the way you look at me, Leon,” he replied in a soft, husky and overly effeminate voice. “I’ve watched you watching me, I’ve seen you undress me with your eyes.” He rolled his waist seductively and inched his hips closer and Squall did nothing to restrain him. “I know you’ve been lusting after me, the same way I’ve been lusting after you.” Naruto combed his fingers in his lover’s thick hair and pushed it away from his forehead, forcing his head back until he was looking up at the sky and Naruto leaned over him, blotting out the celestial view but making sure not to let the heat of their bodies touch…not yet.

“I know you want me, baby,” he grinned wickedly. Squall returned the gesture, quite intrigued about where he was going with this but when Naruto thrust his hips roughly against his he inhaled sharply and the hold he had around that firm waist tightened and he pulled him even closer. “See, I told you so,” the fox-like boy cooed and ground his sex-starved erection against Squall’s aching own.

His sandy-topped head dipped again to claim another demanding kiss but this time it was Squall who brutally assaulted his mouth, roughly shoving his tongue between his lips and grazing its firm tip against the ridges of his teeth before venturing deeper inside his moist warmth in search of a similar playmate. Naruto groaned loudly, his voice elevating higher than the rustling of the wind among the leaves and his fingers curled into tight fists within that dark thatch of hair.

“Oh…L-Leon,” he gasped grinding his hips desperately against the other boy’s thick jeans, the textured friction doing painful, yet erotic things to his stiff rod. “Take me…take me now.”

“Hmph! Idiot,” Squall smirked at Naruto’s portrayal of a wanton virgin in a romance novel.

In one swift motion he reared up, wrapping one arm around his waist and the other behind his head to cushion him as he tossed him against the bench. Naruto cried out in surprise at his quick action but whatever else he was going to say was immediately forgotten when Squall brought his head down to kiss him again.

Naruto laced his legs around the other boy’s waist but Squall released him so he could spread his legs apart with both hands and throw one over the back of the bench while he let the other one dangle over the side to the ground. He toyed with the boy splayed open beneath him, nibbling on his lower lip and stroking his firm thighs beneath the coarse material of his pants and Naruto moaned loudly and bucked his hips against him causing him to moan as well.

Squall teased him mercilessly then, pinching his legs and pulling away from his mouth so he could nuzzle his ear, throat and shoulders, gently sinking sharp teeth into the tender flesh and drawing it far into his mouth, suckling at the perspiration that dotted his skin. Naruto’s hands were restless in his hair, encouraging him with languid massages on his scalp and urging him to take this to the next level with frantic tugs of his dark locks.

“Leon,” he sighed happily, his hot breath swept away by the cool, night air. “Let’s do it. Let’s do it right here…right now.”

The older boy chuckled and the tiny vibrations against Naruto’s sensitive earlobe made him shiver. He’d love to acquiescence to his request but having sex in this park was much more risky than even being in it, but he didn’t expect Naruto to know that, besides, this was only supposed to be a prelude for what was to come, he hadn’t expected that they’d go this far.

Squall stopped his ministrations completely and rose from the bench, finding it very hard to stand straight with a bulging erection in his pants. Naruto blinked up at him and looked at his out-stretched hand rather stupidly before he understood that he was supposed to take it.

“Wh-why did you stop, Leon?” he asked, his voice nothing more than a disappointed whine.

He helped him to his feet and tugged at the hem of his shirt to straighten it properly. “Sorry, but we can’t do it here.”

“Eh! Then why did you try to seduce me in the first place?” he huffed but a perverted grin spread across his face when a thought came into his head. “Unless…Leon is afraid of being an exhibitionist.”

‘No, Leon is just afraid someone’s gonna jump out and stab us while we’re having sex,’ he mused wryly. “It’s not that,” he finally said out loud. “It’s just that, this is going to be your first time, right? So I figured you’d be more comfortable on a bed than on a park bench.”

“Oh, are you taking me back to your place on our first night together?” he joked, batting his golden eyelashes. “Sorry, Leon but I’m not that kinda guy.”

He laughed at that. No one made him laugh quite like that except Naruto. No wonder he loved him so much.

“Then I guess we won’t be doing it tonight then,” the taller boy sighed in mock discouragement and shoved his hands in his pockets before beginning the short walk back to the main gates of the park.

“Hey, hey, Leon. Don’t be like that,” he screeched and chased after him, locking both arms around one of his and falling into step beside him. “If you think I’m gonna let you get away this easily,” he grinned, the whisker-like tattoos curling as his cheeks did the same and Squall smirked when he was introduced to that cheeky, little fox-creature once again.

“If you think I’m gonna let this opportunity pass, you’ve got another think coming.”

-----

Sorry for the delay in chapters (I seem to be doing that alot) but I took a little break and during that break I started reading online manga and you know you just can't read only one chapter. Then...I just got lazy. Gomen! Will try to get updates more frequently now. I'm also sorry this one's so short but I didn't want to get too detailed with Squall's past because I just know I was going to end up with a loop-hole somewhere.
