Chapter 5
Sakura’s health improved slowly. Although she didn’t have to have to have an oxygen mask on all the time, she needed constant warmth, and was made to stay in bed with as many hot water bottles that would fit in with her. Tsunade-shishō still forbade her from walking around and doing anything too strenuous. Everyday she asked the nurses if everything was alright with Kakashi, and everyday they just didn’t reply. There was something welling up inside her, deep and dark, making every time she thought about Kakashi sad and frightening. That image of him being struck down by the stranger lingered in her mind for days on end, keeping her awake most nights. Only when she was visited, was she allowed a blessed release from such imagery. Talking to old friends about what happened while she was away, not mentioning anything that would hurt her. But the well of guilt only deepened as time went by.
