Omake: In Which Sasuke Finally Stands Up For Himself!!
========================================================================
It was hot outside, but Sasuke sat on the uncomfortable metal folding chair with a certain amount of collected dignity nonetheless. The other teachers sat silently around him as the principal formally presented the class for their first time as graduates. He scowled, checking his watch, glad that the stupid ceremony (which had lasted almost a hour past it's scheduled time) was finally over and done with. He was the first one out of his chair, and he gathered his things quickly, running for the aisle before he could get cornered into some inane conversation once again. He'd had about as many of those as he could take for the day.
He scowled as he saw his brother at the back of the crowd, and turned on his heels immediately. Itachi had been talking to some woman, a relative of one of the now alumni, and hadn't seen him yet, or so he hoped. He didn't know why the older boy had shown up, it wasn't like Sasuke was doing anything in the ceremony, and it wasn't like any of his family had shown up for any of his own damn graduations, so why now?
He was scowling deeply as he headed for the exit, when he felt a tug on his arm. He spun towards whoever had dared interrupt his escape, preparing a sharp, biting response. It died on his lips though, because it was Naruto, beaming like an idiot, firmly clutching his diploma in one hand. Sasuke's expression softened a bit, and he shifted nervously on his feet.
"Congratulations, Naruto-kun. You finally graduated." The boy just kept smiling, latching on to Sasuke's arm and dragging the teacher to one side of the outdoor stage.
"I owe it all to you, Sasuke. You helped me so much." Sasuke blushed a little bit.
"It was your hard work really, Naruto-kun. I just gave you a little bit of... guidance." Naruto's smile slowly turned smoldering, and he reached up to fiddle with Sasuke's tie.
"Well it was very good guidance, sensei, it helped me a lot. Without it, I just wouldn't be here today." Sasuke caught the meaning behind the words and swallowed hard. He didn't deny it, but he didn't agree with it either, just let his eyes widen a tiny bit.
"I-I'm sure you'll do well without me though, when you go off to school in a few months." Naruto's smirk grew, his eyes narrowing a little, shining with lust.
"But sensei, I'm not even leaving town. There's a perfectly good university right here, and they've offered me money, so how could I refuse? I hope you'll still be willing to offer me... guidance..." Sasuke's eyes got wider as the information sunk in, and before he could even smile, he found Naruto hanging from his neck, hugging him tight. "Please sensei?"
"O-of course, who am I to deny such a hard working student, after all?" His own face broke out in a smile then, softer than Naruto's, and he felt warm again. Naruto pulled back a little, looking into his eyes before leaning in, touching their lips together lightly.
They missed the sound of approaching footsteps, but sprang apart when a sound too close for comfort broke through.
"Ahem." Sasuke pulled back guiltily, and turned to find his brother standing close by, everyone else for the most part having cleared out, but for a knot of giggling girls, juniors, who were casting them interested looks. Sasuke scowled.
"What?" His voice was harsh, but Itachi's face stayed positively placid.
"I'm not sure it's entirely appropriate for you to carry on relations of that sort with a student, and on school grounds nonetheless. What has become of you, otouto?" It was Naruto's turn to scowl, as he pulled Sasuke close again, meeting the older Uchiha's eyes full on without fear.
"I'm not his student anymore, idiot, so that doesn't matter. Besides, we're both legal and as I remember, this wasn't any of your business." Itachi's eyes widened a bit in surprise, and then narrowed in cold anger.
"I would watch who you use that tone with, Uzumaki-kun, I am an Uchiha and as such your superior, so watch-" Itachi didn't see the punch coming until he was already on the ground, one hand clutched to his jaw which hurt like a bitch. His wide eyes were fixed on his brother now, who was looking down on him with eyes of ice.
"Keep in mind that I'm also an Uchiha, Aniki. Father always said that Uchiha's hold on to what is precious to them and don't give up. I would suggest that you not bother him any more." With that, Sasuke turned, one arm hooking around Naruto's slim waist, and left the schoolyard. Itachi lay there and watched them go, watched his brother smiling as he discussed where he could take Naruto to celebrate. He smiled.
OWARI!!! Thanks you guys!! so until next time,
