Chapter 5 – The Past and Future

Hinata was only 3-year-old girl, but already old enough to be putted in harsh train with her father and it happened right after her cousin Neji got his curse seal, against her uncle's will. But as long as they were underdogs, there was no other way out. Hinata only remembered times when she saw her own father using the seal for torture his own twinbrother, when he was trying to protest or attempt to attack him.

Why? Nobody really knew exactly, only that Hizashi hated Main Branch passionate because of injustice and he could never forgive his own brother for giving Neji curse seal, when Hiashi actually many years ago promised him of ending giving children curse seal.

But the Main Council refused to listen to any excuses, Neji was branch member and there were no other options and somehow Hiashi decided to break the promise, if it was his intention or not, his betrayal was the fact and everyone in the family knew it. That was all Hinata knew after reading secret scrolls about it, when nobody was at home, normally she would be scold for trying sneaking with secrets, she knew how Hizashi died and she was shocked that he did it by his free will, the only way of being free.

Hinata remembered when she was walking around many gardens, she saw someone sitting beside Fontaine, holding one white dove and she knew that it wasn't her father, because Hiashi hated doves, but it was Hizashi who held the dove; it was only four days after her birthday and it was still cold outside. Hinata sneaked closer, then she heard his voice: ”I know you're there. There's not need to hide from me.” Nervous she came out and was starring at him, Hizashi just nodded: ”Come here, child... you don't have to be afraid.” Then Hinata walked forward and asked: ”Why do you hold the bird?”

He chuckled: ”That's the dove. Dove aren't like any birds.” ”Doooove...” Hinata tried to spell and Hizashi couldn't't resist laughing at bit about her small petite tone. Suddenly he stopped laughing and looked serious, more like her father and he said: ”Hinata. You're look so much like your mother. Nobody, not even your father could believe that. He who always wanted a son, got you.”

”But I'm not a boy...” Hinata whispered shyly. ”That's true. You're not a boy, but that dosen't mean you can't be heir. And beside your mother would be very happy for you, she loves you so much. She kept telling me all over, that you're her only light.” ”What about father? Does he love me too?” Then he looked away and said: ”I don't know... I never dared to ask him, even he's my brother, I can't ask him such thing. But there's one thing I need to say, even though you're probably won't understand all.”

”Then I'll try understand uncle Hizashi...” she said, going close to him, as he released the dove from his giant, but soft hand.

”Hinata... one day, you have to stand up for yourself. One day, no one can be there for you all the time and I fear that someday I have to leave everything, even Neji behind me. And all I ask Hinata, is to look for him. Care for him, because one day he's going to be so alone... I fear that, because yesterday I had a dream about it. About entire darkness over him.”

”But uncle, dreams are dreams. They are not real, father said so when I have nightmares.”

”It may be so, but sometimes the dreams tells you about the future and it said that my time is soon over and I can only accept this, but I need your little favor, child. And I can't ask my brother for this, because I don't even know him anymore, yet you have to know that I always loved your father and I will stand up for him. But just remember, Neji need someone to be close to him. If you can't then who would. Look after him for me. One day, you'll understand... I even talked to your mother about this and she will help as well.”

”Uncle Hizashi... I don't want you to go...” suddenly she felt the hug from her uncle. ”Shh, everything will be alright. Just trust yourself and look for Neji...”

Suddenly Hinata woke up from the dream, dream about her past. She was sweating, panting, then she looked at the window, the sun has already rise and she remembered now that she wasn't at home, but in Kiba's room with Akamaru. But Akamaru was gone, probably chased out by Kiba. She didn't remember exactly after drinks she took, right after she came to his house hold and she was still exhausted and tired. She laid back on the bed sheets, trying to get some sleep again, although it was impossible. Thinking again about the dream she just had, it wasn't first time she had been dreaming about her uncle and his last words, before his death: ”I guess... I failed protecting Neji from loneliness... I tried and tried uncle, but he never let me in, he never tried to love me back and now we're engage, but... Neji had reasons, Tenten dumped him, but why would he even thinking about marry me? He never cared about me! Something is so strange and I can't find out, not even with my byakugan.”

Suddenly someone knocked the bedroom door. She looked at the door and whispered: ”Yes?” ”Hinata? It's me, Kiba...” ”Just come in...” And Kiba opened the door and went inside to his bedroom, where Hinata still lie in his bed, he walked toward to the bed and sat on the edge of the bed. ”How are you feeling now? And don't worry, mom and Hana is on the mission right after we went for the sleep. It's just us now.”

”Kiba-kun... I feel okay, just worried..” she said.

”I know. Your family might be out, looking for you, but I won't let them capture you, you're safe with me.” Kiba said.

”There's something I have to tell... I can never go back home...” Kiba was listening.
”Father... h-he..”

”Hinata... did he beat you again?” His fists clenched of anger, but his face wasn't showing it, since he knew that his temper could frighting Hinata and it would making her more difficult to speak.

”Well, it's more than this... actually it's one of the worst day in my life! H-he f-forced me... t-to en-engagem..” ”Engagement!? But.. you're not even 16!” Kiba gasped, he just couldn't't believe in his sensitive ears. ”I know Kiba-kun... I-i tried... to protest, but he...” ”But not even Kurenai is married and she's over 30, already! Come on, we gotta go and talk to your old man! You're way too young!” ”Kiba-kun! Stop! You just.. don't understand...” Hinata interrupt, while now crying again, Kiba decided to try drop the subject, right now he knew that Hinata wanted nothing than just hug and comfort, which he reached his arms for pulling Hinata to his chest and rocking her front and back.

”Hinata... I'm sorry.. I was just..” ”Worried? I know... and I love you for always caring me, no matter what.” she whispered and looked now up to Kiba, gazed at his eyes, she leaned to his face for the kiss. First when Hinata let her lips touching his, he used his toungh inside of her mouth, while Hinata's was soft, his kiss was then rough and playful, while Hinata gave small sounds of pleasure and could'nt resist giving giggling for letting Kiba playfully using his tongue with hers. ”Ah.. Kiba-kun...” she moaned... Kiba's POV

The first time she came to my house was right after Naruto left for his training with Jiraya, that pervert sennin. To be honest, I was happy that we finally got rid of that idiot and so was Shino and many others. If everyone thought that I was a friend with Naruto, since we used to play as kids, well I can only tell that you're wrong. Why? Well it wasn't exactly because of Naruto was sealed or that he nags about unrealistic dreams like becoming Hokage. Before then, I simply didn't care much about what he was doing, I could tease and laugh at him at day, but the next one hanging out, like nothing happened. No. It was because of that time, we ninja-students were made in team groups and Hinata and Shino, well even Akamaru was part of this, we were team8 and trust me, everything would be perfect, if she didn't have that stupid crush on fox-kid Naruto Uzumaki. He's the reason, why I started to loath him more than before.

Well I can't say that I was in love with Hinata in beginning, because I had to admit that she was too shy and weird, she never talked much and neither did Shino. But when Hinata did talked, she had the habit of stuttering and that irritated me a lot in beginning and I even point that once, but Kurenai gave me harsh slap and warned me for ever talking like that to Hinata again and Shino gave me his first glare at me. He would probably do the same way as Kurenai, since I early found out that how protected they were for Hinata.

True, we went through the same class, but we never hanged out before and I don't believe that they neither did with others. They were both lonely and uneasy to hang out with. Hinata didn't had any friends among girls and Shino avoid the social life as much as he could, because of people feared people like him. Aburame clan was known for harsh reputation and they lived isolated life somewhere and they would only be needed if there was missions or eventual war. And luckily if I never got Akamaru, I would probably never learned to be more social or helpful, because Akamaru was the one who taught me to be nice, Akamaru always were nice to my teams, he found liking Hinata pretty much. But slowly, actually after Chunnin exam, I started to appreciate my team more and when I was lying in bed after the fight against Naruto, Shino came for visit and I was surprise because I never thought that he really cared. Because before then, we always arguing about who's the leader of the team, although Kurenai just shook her head everytime we fights. And I remember the short conversation we had at the hospital: ”Shino? What are you doing here?”

”Don't you want me to visit? I'am your teammate, remember?”

”Oh... but what happened to Hinata? Did she make it?” I asked. Shino were quiet and now gazing at me with his sunglasses.

”Shino! Please! Tell me! Is Hinata alright?! Just say something!” I shouted, trying to pull my body from the bed, but failed, my back still hurted and I coughed. ”

Kiba... You must rest or you will have broken bones.” Shino said, but this time, he sound worry and I kept nagging him for telling me about Hinata's condition, until Kurenai stepped inside with sadness in her eyes.

”Kiba... Hinata got horrible attacks during the fight, her heart were damage and the rest of her internal organs weren't to make it either. ” Trying to fight from crying, Kurenai took a deep breath and continue: ”All of her chakra points were broken and she couldn't't fight anymore, but before she collapse, she manage to stand up, unlike many who lost the battle, looking at us and gave the smile, but the smile wasn't given for us, it was for Naruto and hadn't Naruto interrupt Neji's words, Hinata would die now. You should had seen her eyes, she tried all her powers to overcome the fear of the battle. I had never seen her so potential and so determined, although Neji did everything to break her and he almost did...” I stayed quiet, couldn't't believe in my sensitive ears of what my sensei said, Hinata fights... I was looking at Shino and he simply nodded. Hinata almost did it, for the first time, she stopped forfeit if everything went to difficult, like our earlier missions. I wanted to see her, I tried again to pull myself up, but my back were so painful that I started to scream of pain, Kurenai rushed to the bed, hushing me, while pulling me back.

”Kiba... don't move.” ”I want to see her...” I whispered. ”Kiba please..” she tried. ”BUT I WANT TO SEE HER!! NOW!!” I yelled and pushed the vase to the floor, broken. Two nurses shows up, rambling that I should lay still or else, but I kept yelling Hinata's name. Shino looked sadly to Kurenai and she asked nurses if they could move Hinata to the same room with Kiba. ”But the room is too small...” one of the nurses said. ”Then find a larger room for two persons!” she interrupt with serious tone, once Kurenai sensei wanted something, she made sure that she got one. Later we were placed to the same room, Hinata had the mask on her face, for making sure that she was still breathing and were still unconsciousness for few days. Watching her like this, pained me horrified, but somehow relieved that she was alive and that sooner or later she would wake up. Mom and Hana often came for the visit for making sure that I ate and slept well, but none of her family member showed up. Not that I expected that jerk Neji to do so, I even heard that he didn't care less about his teammates Lee and Tenten, but her father or her sister never came, not even heard a single word from them and Hinata would have no idea how painful it would be for her to wake up and realize that none of her family member cared. Neji didn't cared about her, not even his teammates, although they were damage after their battles. Tenten was pretty much lucky, her injure were minor compare to Lee, he couldn't walk properly for a long time, but not even this made Neji caring or even asked about their wellbeing, only Sakura, Naruto, Ino or Gai ever paid their visit for Tenten, Lee or Sasuke. And only Shino and Kurenai paid their visit for Hinata. No one else! Not even Naruto and that pissed me even more. How dare he neglecting Hinata, after of what she had been through, everything she did was for him! I even asked Sakura once, when she paid a visit about Naruto, but she said that he was busy with training and hadn't time. I remember when Hinata woke up after few days of coma, and her first words was: ”Where is Naruto-kun?” That pained me deeply, I had never felt so sad for anyone until that moment.

Now you probably understand, why I can never consider Naruto, that asshole as a friend? I hate him for doing this to Hinata, being a idiot for hurting her feelings, not caring if she called his name! She never asked much! Or rather nothing, she just wanted him to come and talk to her, even though she wouldn't't say anything much, this would mean more than anything for her, knowing that there's more people than just her teammates, caring for her. And one day, when she was finally free to go from hospital, suddenly Naruto came from nowhere, talking to her, I was hiding few meters away with Akamaru, spying, listening of their words.

Her words, his words. And those last sentence from Naruto, made me so angry. I could never forget how disappointing I was, when he said to her, before he left; ”I... You know, about you..”

Hinata: ”Huh?”

Naruto: ”Thought you were... a plain looking, dark weirdo and timid..”

Before I heard the rest of his last words, I rushed toward him, but he ran off, since he was going to miss his match against Neji, so I couldn't't do anything, but instead I said to Hinata: ”Sorry Hinata! I'm late... well Shino's fight isn't till later.” But she was gone on her own little world, watching him disappearing, that Naruto...

After when Naruto left, all of us now ten Shinobis took Chunnin exam, the only one who reach to the jonin level was bastard of her cousin Neji. We all knew that he was one of most powerful shinobi in whole Konoha, just like Gaara in Suna.

But there was something that things were unchanged for awhile, Hinata still waiting for that baka, Naruto and when he returned after three years, he was still genin, but powerful one and he did change, he grew taller, he's calmer, but still baka and not obvious about small things, he didn't even recognized Shino, who become my best friend and brother-like and that's hurting, in beginning Hinata was still too nervous of talking to him, but later after many adventures against the S-criminals Atasukis, Hinata told us that it's was time for her to confess her love for Naruto. That pained me, I looked away, while Shino remain himself, although I could sense that he was angry about it. And then she looked at us curious; ”Kiba-kun, Shino-kun? What's wrong? A-aren't y-you guys a bit.. happy for me?” My Hinata, you had no idea how devastated we were, we hoped that your crush would disappear while Naruto was gone, but we were wrong, we boys could never understand somehow girls stubbornness, when it comes for silly dreams. Then I decided to telling her the truth: ”Well since you asked us, I'm going to say that, you're going to make a biggest mistake in entire history!” Hinata jumped a bit by her surprise of my outburst. ”Hinata, we had been team for more than three years and I know Naruto much longer than you think, since I used to play with him. And I'm going tell you something; he won't answer your love. Naruto has only three things in his mind; nr 1, getting Sasuke back, nr 2, becoming Hokage and nr 3, be Sakura's future husband. And once he had decided nothing can stop him and you know that Hinata!” I may sound cruel in my speech, but I had no other choice than telling her the truth! It was all for her own good, couldn't't she just see that? But instead, she started to crying, whispering that she just couldn't't let it go and that how much she loved Naruto so much, blablabla and turn away and left.

”Damnit! Why can't she just listen to me for once Shino?! ARG!” ”Calm down, Kiba. Sooner or later, she will realize the truth. Just give her more time.” ”More time... it's been three years and I'm really sick of waiting!” I complained and even my now giant dog Akamaru barked in agreement. ”I know, but if you really love her, then don't push too far, sooner or later she will coming to you, because I don't think there will be someone else who would comfort her, once it's over.” Shino said and in fact, he was right.

Later that night, when I was around in the forest with Akamaru as our late training, I saw Hinata sitting near the lake, crying and in fact, it was one of her worst day ever and I was going to telling her that; 'I told you so!' Then Akamaru told me that she had suffered enough and there was no need to telling her those things, instead I went forward to Hinata, who was completely in mess, her hair, her beautiful pale face, her eyes, she looked terrible and when I touched her shoulder, she suddenly flinched by fear, backing away in few meters. But once she looked over, realizing that it was me, she calmed a bit down and I simply pulled her in at my chest. I hated to say this, but I was really happy that it was finally over and I had been very close to her since that night and I been waiting for three years when I realizing first that I loved Hinata and started to feeling jealous and protective over Hinata and now that Naruto was finally out of the picture, I would do anything to take her and no one will be able to stop me. Not even Neji or her father.

End of Kiba's POV

”Hinata? If you're not ready, you could simply just told me.” Kiba said, now hurted by that she wasn't ready about giving her body for him, although Kiba had been waiting long enough, but he knew somehow that it was going to take more than love for her trusting him. You're both are just 16, and too young and who's getting married?” ”It's Machi Hyuga and she said that once she's married, she won't be able to go out without her future husband's permission.” Hana answered, now looking sad, after watching Machi standing with the rest of family members and she had a male company and he wasn't just any male, he was her future husband and he looked over 30. After few minutes of relaxing side by side, Hinata suddenly asked: ”Kiba-kun... how are we going to tell your mom?” ”Huh? Mom? Heh! Don't worry Hinata, I'll figure out, I promise.” Kiba said smiling, but stopped, when suddenly someone opened the door and went inside.

Author's note: Okay, that's all from now on! At least I made my promise for the lemon and trust me, it was harder than I thought, but don't worry, my other chapter for Seven Nights is coming soon, just that the lemon scene slowed me down in writings.

1) When Hana was 16, Kiba was just 10 at that time, when Inuzuka family went for the festival, noticing Hyuga girl Machi. Machi is just a OC minor character, so... don't worry too much about it.

And I know, that the chapter is so much more longer than I expected, but on other hand, things had to get done and I know that probably a lot NaruHina-fans is going to be upset and giving me ”love-letters”, but just for you guys to understand, it's Kiba's version of this chapter and we do know that they're more or less rivals and we can't expect anything less of it. Those words Naruto told Hinata, are true, both in manga and anime, he did said those things to her, even though he probably never meant to hurt her, but in fact he did and wasn't very careful of choosing words and we should notice the fact that he probably never visit Hinata, when she was injured from the Chunin battle, because he was too busy with trainings and that snotty idiot Sasuke. D: No offense Sasuke-fans, but I really dislike this guy.
