Easier For You
*Author's note: Still Sick, so this makes this one for the worst written/edited things I've done lol Sorry...
“Absolutely…”, Sakura smiled, then turned her face drastically. “NOT. Why would I hang out with some dirty bum like you when Shiro-sama will be there~!!” she cooed, giggling madly to herself. Naruto rolled his eyes at her, huffing. “Meh! WOMEN!” he scoffed, making Sakura take offense. They turned to each other to being a inaudible, squawking quarrel causing Yamato to bury his face into his paper and Sai just turned away from them to look out of the window. The scenery really was nice out here, despite they were going on a mission. From the details, it didn’t sound too hard to manage. Sai took a heavy sigh, standing up again to go someplace quieter. He hopped over Naruto’s body as Sakura had him on his back on the floor, her fist raised to pound his face, and made his way out of the door to stand on the small balcony outside of the train car. Naruto and Sakura stopped to watch him leave, feeling slightly bad that they made Sai feel so out of place.
Sakura looked down at Naruto, grabbing his nose between her knuckles and pulled instead of punching his lights out. “ARGH!” he cried, holding his nose and squirmed on the floor when she let go. “This is your fault.” Naruto sat up, still rubbing his nose as he looked up at her. He continued to be preoccupied to whether or not he still had a nose for a few moments before he answered her. “Huh? What’s my fault?”
“Sai. You never liked him and he really likes you, but you just blow him off all the time. He’s trying his best to make friends with you, and you’re an ass.” Naruto stared at her, then narrowed his eyes in disbelief at her words. “You really don’t know anything, do you…”, he grumbled, still sitting on the floor. Sakura shot a glare at him, her eyebrow twitching in anger. “What the hell is that suppose to mean?!” Naruto coughed as he started to laugh nervously. “Nothing! Nothing!” Sakura just huffed, picking up her magazine again to open it up and ignore the blond. “Well don’t just sit there! Go apologize!”, she huffed, sounding like someone’s mother.
Naruto groaned, crawling back up to his feet. “Alright…alright. FINEEEEEEEEEE”, he said, muttering as he walked away. “Stupid Sakura…she doesn’t know anything…” For maybe the one time in his life, Naruto’s griping was truthful. Sakura had no idea about the real relationship between himself and Sai. If she did, she would be scolding him on a million other things instead. Naruto opened the door that led to the balcony outside of the train, but was surprised when he found it empty. “Huh?” he said, closing the door behind himself and went to the railing. He looked left, right, down…? “Sai? Sai? Saiiii?” Sai had taken refuge from the noise of his companions on the roof of the train, trying his hand at a more peaceful sleep alone. His sleeping face suede when he heard his name being called over and over again, forcing his eyes open. He blinked a few times before starting his sleepy crawl to the edge so he could poke his head over. “Naruto.” The blond was busy looking the edge of the railing when his name was called from behind. He yelped, giving a quick jump that almost made him fall over the edge of the train.
“Ah! SAI!” he fussed, turning around as he clung to the railing that was now behind him. Sai gave Naruto an irritated look before rubbing his eyes with the back of this right hand. “What do you want?” Naruto looked at him, letting go of the railing so he could climb to the roof of the train car as well. Sai moved, sitting on his knees as he picked sleep out of his eyelashes as Naruto came up and sat on his rear next to him. “What are you doing up here? You’ve been either sleeping or distant the entire ride.” Sai looked at him with his one clean eye as his hand rubbed his other. He gave a shrug, resting both of his hands on his own knees. “I’m use to being alone.”
“Use to being or prefer to being?”, his lover asked him, looking a little worried. Again, Sai just shrugged.
“Does it matter? You don‘t want to be around me right now anyways. I was making it easier for you.”
Naruto frowned, not really sure how to answer that. “It’s not that…It’s just Sakura’s here and Yamato-Sensei’s around too, ya know? I mean, you asked me out for a date right in front of Sakura! What was I suppose to say?!” Sai’s eyes got a little wide, surprised at Naruto’s response. Did he really ask Naruto on a date? He hadn’t realized… “I just….I just wanted to see the fireworks with you. I don’t know anything about dating…I didn’t know that it was considered that…”, the artist blushed slightly, looking away as if he were ashamed. “Is something like that considered a ‘date’? Really?…” Sai’s voice trailed off as he got lost in thought, but the more he thought about it, the more he wanted to go with him, date and all. “I…I really want to go with you, Naruto…” Naruto watched Sai’s body language, feeling ashamed himself. “Sai, we can’t…I told you that we aren’t dating….”, Naruto weakly argued, but it seemed like the more he said no, the more hurt Sai looked. He felt even worse as Sai agreed to his harsh terms.
