Ch. 5: NAME

“You’re coming with us today.”

Naruto rolled his eyes as he finished getting dressed. Itachi put the leash on Naruto and lead him towards the main room, where they met Kisame.
“Why is Kitsune with us?” Fish-sticks asked.
“I don’t trust Tobi.”

Just then Tobi came bouncing in the room. “Hi Kitsune-san! Tobi got you a present!” They hyper boy produced a box from a pocket in his cloak.
Naruto smiled and opened it. It was a stuffed kitsune. “It’s adorable! Thank you Tobi.”
“Is Tobi a good boy?”
“Yes, Tobi is a very good boy.”
They both smiled as Kisame sweat-dropped. Years of self-discipline was the only thing that prevented Itachi from killing Tobi for being such an idiot. You do not buy pets toys. Especially when that pet belongs to someone else.
Itachi took it from Naruto and the blonde pouted. “It stays here until we get back.”
“But---“
“It stays here unharmed, or I’ll Kanton it as soon as we get out of here.”

“But Itachi-san, Kitsune-san just got it.”
“You take care of it or I’ll Kanton you when we get back.”
Tobi snatched the stuffed animal out of Itachi’s hands. “It will be safe when you return, Kitsune-san.”

The mission was to go snoop around one of Orochimaru’s experimental bases. Well, Kisame used bigger and more technical terms, but that wasn’t the point.
The point was that Kisame found an experiment that he liked.
“Tachi-san, why does your bitch need a pet?” Naruto innocently asked Itachi.
“I am not his bitch!” Kisame yelled.
“When was the last time you denied Tachi-san something?”
“Never.”
“Why?”
“Because he has this aura that demands… obedience… oh my god I am his bitch!” Kisame buried his face in his hands.
The experiment that Kisame had taken a liking to was still in the glass tube thingy, and merely raised an eyebrow in question.
Naruto stared back at him. “Hey. You look like a shark!”
“My name is Suigetsu.”
“I think I’ll call you Shark-boy!”
They eyebrow that was raised began to twitch in annoyance. “And who are you?”
“Kitsune.” Naruto cocked his head to the said. “But I don’t think that’s my real name,” he added in a whisper so that only Itachi heard him.
Naruto got lost in his thoughts while Kisame and Itachi finished the mission. Wasn’t it like ramen or something? Noodle? Fishcake? Hmm… whirlpool? He was pretty sure it started with a ‘N’. Neko? “You are going to be Hokage?” Suigetsu asked.
“Oh, well, not anymore, I guess. But that was the original plan. I say it more out of habit than belief now…” Naruto’s tone got more depressed as the sentence went on.
Everybody – even Itachi, not that anyone could tell – suddenly became depressed along with him. The tone of his voice and look on his face was just so sad. Kisame almost wished that he never had to capture the poor boy. Itachi would have loved to send Naruto back to Konoha, but that would cause problems to both his reputation and the Akatsuki.
Instead, Kisame broke Suigetsu out of his glass tube thingy and put a leash and collar on him. The four went back to the Akatsuki base, mission accomplished.
