Monday Morning
Naruto felt the warmth surrounding his body, gentle breath ghosting over his cheek. As he slowly opened his eyes to the world, his noise picked up the smell of cherries and some kind of spice.
Naruto looked into the flesh colored wall. He attempted to look up, but was too close. He pushed against the chest, causing the arms cradling him to loosen. He sat up and looked down at the boy, who was holding him.
Naruto turned bright red, looking into the sleeping, peaceful face of Gaara. He flew up and out of reach. At the same moment Shikamaru came from around the corner, smiling.
“Good morning, Naruto.” He snickered “I just knew, I was going to have to pry you from his arms.”
Naruto narrowed his eyes.
“What happened?” Naruto asked.
“Last night, you started to whimper in your sleep. Gaara was up and you woke me up. Gaara didn’t know this, I started to stand until he walked over.” He paused “He started to whisper, I didn’t hear what he was saying. The next thing I know you stopped and he was holding you.”
Naruto nodded and stood.
“We never speak of this again, ever.” Naruto grumbled.
Shikamaru nodded and went to wake up Gaara.

In the car on the way to school
Naruto sat in the back, biting away at his bottom lip. Sasuke would be waiting for him, he knew it. He prayed that Sasuke got paralyzed from the neck down, in a freak accident.
He could see the roof of the school, his heartbeat picking up.
“Naruto?” Shikamaru called, worry in his voice. “Your pale. Are you okay?”
Naruto could only nod. He noticed Gaara watched him silently in the overhead, rearview mirror.
They turned into the school parking lot and parked. This was it.
Naruto shivered opening the door and stepping out.
No more than four parking spots away was a very angry Sasuke and he was getting closer. Naruto froze in his spot and looked down, readying himself for the blow. He could hear the harsh breathing, now in front of him.
“Did you have fun?” He hissed, not realizing Shikamaru and Gaara were out of the car.
“Yeh, he did.” Gaara answered.
“We have to go, don’t want to be late.” Shikamaru somewhat growled, grabbing Naruto.
Gaara smiled and followed them.
After making it out of hearing distance, Shikamaru began to rant. As they made their way into the school and to their lockers, Shikamaru sighed.
“I want to know, why he doesn’t start dating and get a life.”
Gaara looked to the left of Shikamaru and smiled.
“Speaking of dating.” Gaara pointed behind Shikamaru.
Naruto and Shikamaru turned to see Neji heading towards them or more like Shikamaru.
“Hey.” Neji gestured to Naruto and Gaara.
He quickly turned to Shikamaru.
“I’m walking you to class.”
Shikamaru blinked and started to walk away. Neji moved fast pinning him between his arms, on the lockers.
“No.” Shikamaru said as a group of girls passed by, but slowed down seeing Neji and Shikamaru.
Neji saw them out of the corner of his eye.
“Come on, baby.” He slightly growled, but only Gaara, Naruto, and Shikamaru heard.
Shikamaru gritted his teeth and sighed. He began to blush, a shyness coming over his face and he started to fiddle with the end of the shocked Hyugas shirt.
“Don’t call me that…it’s so embarrassing…” He murmured.
Naruto and Gaara looked at each other. The girls walked away, sadden at the thought of Neji with Shikamaru. Naruto watched quietly and Gaara held back snickers. Shikamaru snatched the end of the shirt down, pulling the taller boy down to eye level. His mood quickly changing.
“You ever call me BABY again and I promise you that it will be the last thing you ever say. Your NOT walking me anywhere, I’ll play your game….for now.” Shikamaru walked off, Neji stood in a daze.
The blonde and red head caught up to the calm Nara.
“So….How was it?” Naruto asked.
“I enjoyed every minute of it.” Shikamaru smiled “This might be funnier than I thought.”
Gaara shook his head.
“This is why I miss kindergarten. You told someone you like them and then went to play house.” Gaara sighed.
Shikamaru and Naruto laughed.

Naruto watched the clock. It was 3:24, in one minute the bell would ring and he would be going home with Sasuke.
He stiffened as the bell rung.
He grabbed everything he needed and started to walk out the door. Until Sasuke stepped in front of him.

“Don’t.” Sasuke turned and walked toward the door. “We are going home.”

The ride was silent as Sasuke parked in his favorite spot before they got home. Naruto started to get out of the car, so he could get in the back seat.
