The fight just kept going. Neither giving up. Naruto’s sage chakra was giving him the edge he needed, and Sasuke’s chidori was starting to lose its punch. This was it. They stared at each other, rubble of the former north part of the castle surrounding them. Hours. It had been hours since they had rested. Sasuke’s Akatsuki cloak long shredded and disregarded. Naruto’s orange and black jacket burned and shed as well.
The pure power that came from these two figures was unimaginable. Sasuke was hell-bent on Konaha’s destruction, along with everyone in it. Except… for one.
Naruto was Hell-bent on Sasuke’s retrieval. And now that he had this chance, there was no way he was giving it up.
Exhaustion and strain was evident in their appearance and stances. Tattered clothing, sweat dripping profusely, blood, pain.
So much pain.
This was it. The last time that they would face each other like this, because after this… there was no after this.
This was it.
Each man drew in as much chakra as they could. The air still around them, the very ground they stood on was holding its breath. Waiting. And then they charged.
Moments. That was all it took. Moments. The connection of their powers was immense and instant, imploding between the two, sucking them in, thrashing, exploding with color and power and then…
Nothing.
Silence.
And Sasuke… was on the ground. Naruto, barely standing, above him. Looking down with baby blue.
“I’m taking… you home.” Were the last words Sasuke heard before blackness overtook him.
A week had passed since. A week Since Naruto dragged Sasuke home. On his back, tied up, and hurt.
Both looked like hell, and Sasuke was barely awake.
But he had heard it. Pass Naruto’s soft chattering with Kakashi, past the toad summons that had alerted Tsunade that he had been captured. To the villagers. Walking through the gate was humiliating, but those people were talking. About Naruto. No, about the ‘demon’ and how he dared touch their precious Uchiha. How the ‘freak’ was carrying their precious Uchiha. How that disgusting creature had dare hurt their precious Uchiha.
What.
The.
Fuck.
These people. How dare they. How DARE THEY!
All the way to the tower, Sasuke seethed. His need for revenge growing inside of him every step of the way, his need to take Naruto away from these people, to lock his precious person away from the hatred of these people, to kill these people. Yes. Destroy everything that stood in his way between Naruto and him.
The chains clinked, as he tried to shift his arms into a more comfortable position.
Time was running out. He needed to make it happen.
It would happen.
The soft padding of feet called his attention to his cell door. Even though his chackra was sealed with cuffs, he still had an ace up his sleeve. He smirked.
Face falling impassive as he spotted Naruto rounding the corner, carrying a food tray. The ANBU let him in, falling back.
Naruto stood there, starring at Sasuke with sad blue eyes. Beautiful eyes. He crouched in front of Sasuke, placing the food down, and starting the routine.
Every day, at the same time, Naruto would get done with training, and come to feed Sasuke. Like clockwork. And today was no different. Except that something was going to happen. Something that no one would expect.
His team was coming to pay him a little visit today. And he had Naruto right where he wanted him.
No amount of torture would make him give up his plan. Not when he had come this far. He was fucking IN Konaha. He was inside, and that was all they needed. It was time.
Suigetsu had managed to slither in, his chakra unannounced. Both guards were dead within seconds, and Naruto had no idea. His back to the door, his mind mulling over things, he had no idea…
“Dobe…” Shocked blue eyes met Smirking obsidian. “It’s time.” And the first Explosions went off.
