Undercover Covered up

First of all, I want to thank MisatosPenPen for reviewing this fic. Thank you ^^

Secondly, here is a new chapter. Next chapter will be... well... I don't know, hot? Steamy? 

Anyhow, I think you will like that one! But, first up, this one ^^

Kakashi glances around in his apartment and sighs. It’s good to be back. Even when he is greeted by dust bunnies and some rotten potatoes. That is what you get when you don’t ask another person to watch after your place. Next time, he should ask Gai. But, it’s no big deal. He is home. 

There is a knock on his door. See, Gai is such a good friend. He must’ve heard of Kakashi’s arrival home. And set is upon himself to to greet Kakashi home. Maybe even try a new challenge. 

It’s not Gai. It’s not a person Kakashi would’ve ever expected at his door. Not now, in the middle of the night, after he just returned home from a mission. Well, his task followed up but a mission. 

“Hatake-sama,” Morino-san says with a nod. 

“Morino-san,” Kakashi responds. 

They stare at each other, and for a brief moment, Kakashi wonders if Morino-san realizes who is in front of him. What is really going on. But Morino-san coughs and leans towards Kakashi. “I have a favor to ask. May I come in?” 

Kakashi blinks. “You may.” He steps aside to let the bigger man pass. “Don’t mind the dust bunnies. I’ve just returned from a mission.” 

“I know. That is why I got here now. My apologies for that, I don’t mean to make you feel uneasy.” Morino-san rubs his hands together. “I had to catch you unoccupied with something else.” His ears are red and although he looks unmovable, there is a tremble in his left leg that gives away his real feelings.  

It’s time. He is going to ask if Kakashi wants to be Irakusa-san’s partner in the debt thing. He wants Kakashi to take his place. For Kakashi to have sex with Irakusa. And Kakashi has to say yes. It’s a simple thing. He can’t blow his cover. Tsunade-sama said he wasn’t allowed to. They still have use for his blond persona. 

“You need a favor,” Kakashi says. He puts a hand on his chin and nods. “The answer is yes.” He sighs through his nose and nods again. “I’ve heard it from the Hokage. It’ll be alright.” He coughs and rolls his shoulder. “I can handle it.” 

Morino-san’s eyes widen. “She told you?” He asks. He drops his arms next to his body and stares at his feet. 

Kakashi shrugs. “It’s not a bad thing. I mean, he did help Konoha. And, to be honest, I think you were pretty brave for offering to pay the debt.” 

Silence falls between them. Morino-san nods. Kakashi stares. It’s a shame, it really is. Even now, with the Head of Interrogation fully clothed, he still smells like forest. Kakashi still remembers how the man looked like, standing half naked in the hospital room. He still remembers the kiss on his lips, the hunger he felt in his lower abdomen. 

“Right, yes. Well…” Morino-san lifts his gaze to meet Kakashi’s visible eye. “Come by this address later. We can discuss the details later and do it. You do have to decide what kind of payment you want.” Kakashi blinks as Morino-san thrusts a paper in his hand and rushes out.
