Hikaru waved from his father's arms as Hinata and her guards headed out of the gates of Konoha, heading back to Yukigure.
"Bai-bai okaachan!!!!"
Hinata waved with a confident grin, watching her husband and his twin of a son, Hikaru waving to them. Pretty soon, Hinata was out of sight and Naruto looked at his son as he sat him down. Naruto couldn't help but notice what a silly, carefree smile he had. Hinata had dressed him in a simple red kimono and black sandals. She hadn't left much instruction on caring for Hikaru because she she 'he needed to learn about his son from experience'. Naruto couldn't help but smile at the child continued smiling up at him.
"So, what do you want to do first, Hikaru-Chan?"
"Um........."
Hikaru put his finger to his mouth in thought before smiling and looking beyond his daddy.
"Sakuwa!"
"Sakuwa?" Naruto asked.
He turned around seeing Sakura walking towards him, Hikari walking by her side.Sakura was adorned in a red mini-kimono though nowhere as near as short as Hinata's with a white doctor's coat over it. Her pretty pink hair was tied with her favorite red ribbon while her daughter, walking by her, wore a light lavender kimono which drastically offset her daughter's boyish looks what with Hikari's short, dark hair.
"Hikawi!" Hikaru smiled.
Hikari blushed, looking down at the ground before shyly hiding behind his mother as they stopped to talk to Naruto.
"Ohayo, Hokage-San." Sakura smiled.
"Morning, Sakura-Chan. Hello, Hikari-Chan." Naruto smiled.
Hikari blushed and clutched her mother's kimono even more. Sakura smiled a little, holding a clipboard to her chest with one arm while holding her daughter's hand with the other.
"She's still in that shy stage, I guess. Just like her father in someways..." she blushed herself.
"So where are you and Hikari-Chan headed off to? It's unlikely to see Hikari without her brother."
Sakura looked down at Hikari who was still eyeing Hikaru. She was like a female Sasuke, not so much as scowling, but looking as if she were when really, she was just curious, despite the fact she and Hikaru were friends. Sakura, as a mother, couldn't help but wonder why Hikari's feelings towards Naruto's son had suddenly changed.
"Well, today is Sasuke's day with Tsubasa-Chan, so, I'm taking Hikari-Chan to work with me. And what about you and little Hikaru? You have him for a week until the Kage Examinations. I bet you're going to have a lotta fun with daddy, Hikaru!" Sakura bent over smiling.
Hikaru's blue eyes widened before a streak of red painted across his face. That was a DEFINITE sign this was Hinata's child as well...He got flustered when he saw a beautiful or cute girl, in which Sakura took laughter and a little pride in. Naruto, however, noticed the slightly jealous look Hikari had in her eye and would do his best to remember it when he was able to talk to Sakura alone. He could only grin a little.
"Well, I was wondering if maybe I should take Hikaru training."
"He's four, Naruto-Kun!"
"WILL be four. I think why not start early? Just because he's my kid doesn't mean I'm going to cut him any slack when its time for the exams and such."
Sakura broke into a fit of the giggles.
"Naruto-Kun! Aren't you planning a little in advance? Even Sasuke-Kun won't start training Hikari and Tsubasa until they're atleast six."
Naruto looked thoughtfully at his son who was looking at Hikari. True, he thought. He shouldn't train Hikaru so soon, but...
"I want him to be able to overcome any adversity that may be thrown in his path. I want him to be strong." He smiled.
Sakura's eyes widened before she smiled warmly. That was her Naruto-Kun; always planning for the future. It was no surprise he'd do the same for his son.
"Hey, here's an idea, Sakura-Chan! Why don't we take them out for ice-cream when your done with your shift?"
Sakura nodded and smiled at Hikari.
"Wanna get ice-cream with Hikaru-Chan?"
Hikari nodded with a blush and Hikaru grinned and nodded.
"YAY! Dada, let's go!" Hikaru grinned.
"We have to wait until Sakura-Chan is done with work."
"Aww..."
Sakura smiled before bowing her head and taking Hikari and being on her way. Shyly, Hikari looked over her shoulder and saw Hikaru waving. Her head whipped back around and Naruto smiled.
"I think you're a bit young for girls, Hikaru-Chan."
"Hikawi-Chan is my best friend! He's gweat!"
Naruto almost went over in a dead faint. Didn't Hinata teach him the difference between a boy and girl? Then again, Naruto thought as he looked at Hikari, she was sort of emasculine, wasn't she? Tsubasa on the other hand looked like a pure-o-dee female. That musn't set well with Sasuke, the Hokage thought with a small giin. Naruto took his son by the hand and began heading towards the training grounds close to the center of town. People whispered about the Hokage and his son, but Naruto did his best to ignore them. Hikaru, however, noticed it. He wondered why people looked away from him when he looked at them. Didn't they like him? Before he thought about it any longer, they arrived at the barren training area, happy to find there was no one else there. Naruto let go of his son's hand and smiled.
"Okay, Hikaru-Chan, do you know how to fight?"
Hikaru's eyes widened and he nodded energetically.
"Mm-hmm! Okaachan trains me a lot! So does unca Neji!"
Naruto chuckled a little. He'd have to remember to thank 'unca Neji' later."
"Okay, then, kiddo. Show me what you can do, okay? Just don't overdo it."
Naruto kneeled down and let his son punch at his hands for a while, noticing how well his form was, even for someone as young as Hikaru. Before long, Hikaru was charging at Naruto who simply either side-stepped him or lightly tapped him backwards on his rear-end. Hikaru whimpered a little the third time he fell on his behind and Naruto sighed a little, but was surprised when his son stood up.
"Okay! I'm gonna get seewious now!"
Naruto watched as his son made a quick jutsu sign he didn't recognize and before he knew it, small icy spikes were flying his way from Hikaru's direction. While they were small indeed, they were also sharp, like little needles. He jumped out of the way and regained his composure, looking at his son who giggled proudly.
"Hikaru-Chan, what was that?"
"My Light-Speed Ice Spike jutsu!"
Naruto kneeled down in front of Hikaru and looked him deep into the eyes that matched his so much. This child...was definitely special, especially to master a jutsu like THAT. At ONLY three. He'd heard of child prodigies before, he and Sasuke were prime examples, but even Naruto didn't learn any decent jutsus until he was older. Even though he was only twenty-two, he was indeed impressed with what he'd witnessed in his young life.
"Daddy...? Did I do something bad?"
Naruto's eyes iwdened as he put his hands on his son's shoulders.
"Why would you think that?"
Hikaru looked down a little sadly.
"Because people are always whispering and saying bad things..."
Naruto's eyes widened and flared.
"Who?! Who is saying bad things about you?"
Hikaru looked as if he might cry but when he actually did, it broke Naruto's heart. Hikaru whimpered and tried wiping the tears away from his eyes.
"The...they say I'm bad because I'm you're son and that I have Kyuubi inside of me and Kyuubi is bad and..."
"Kyuubi?!"
Naruto looked at his son as he cried, but never let him go. Hikaru cried even harder.
"People say that I'm bad and that's why mommy keeps me in Yukigure and that I'm dan...dange..r...dangero..."
"Dangerous?!"
Hikaru nodded and wiped more tears away. Naruto hugged his child tightly, picking him up and sighing.
"Hikaru-Chan...you're very special. You are VERY VERY special and your mother and I love you more than anything. You aren't dangerous and you don't need to worry about Kyuubi. Kyuubi ISN'T bad. He protects you, me AND mommy. You are a good, good boy, Hikaru...Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
Hikaru looked at his father and hiccuped a little.
"I...am a good boy? Really?"
Naruto smiled, not wanting to show how angry he was with the people of Konoha to his son.
"You are a VERY good boy, Hikaru-Chan. You are strong and nice and the best son I could ever ask for. Your mommy loves you with all of her heart!"
Hikaru smiled happily, but Naruto couldn't help but ask,
"Do other people treat you like this in Yuki?"
Hikaru shook his head happily.
"Nope! They all love me and are very nice to me!"
"Good. So it's just here then...go figure." he mumbled, pressing his forehead to his son's.
"What's wrong daddy?"
Naruto shook his head with a smile.
"What do you say we get you some lunch and then I think someone needs a nap."
Hikaru nodded with a yawn and Naruto carried him through Konoha, smiling when the child fell asleep in his arms. He glared at the people who whispered as he passed and they quickly turned around in fear. Uzamaki Naruto was not a force to be reconed with, that was for damn sure. He was labeled throught most countries as a definite "Do-Not-Fuck-With" and it seemed that when he was with his son, his glare almost intensified. People went about their business, not wanting to cross Uzamaki Naruto. It was about one-pm when Naruto tucked Hikaru into his large bed and watched as his son slept peacefully. He sighed a little, realizing this was the first time he'd ever really looked at his son in a calm and peaceful manner. He hadn't seen him sleep this way since he was a baby...A knock on the bedroom door startled him out of his thoughts and he quickly stood up, answering the knock, only to see Sasuke with a sleeping Tsubasa in his arms. The Uchiha child was wearing a midnight-blue kimono with the symbol of the Uchiha Clan, a red and white fan, on the back. Tsubasa was by far a beautiful child what with his long, dark hair and gentle green eyes beneath his closed lids.
"Do you mind?" Sasuke asked with a small sigh.
Naruto chuckled a little and nodded.
"Go ahead. I just put Hikaru down for a nap too."
Sasuke walked over to Naruto's bed, raising the blanket a little before putting his sleeping son beside the Hokage's. Unlike Hikaru, who found comfort sleeping on his back, arms sprawled out, Tsubasa found comfort in sleeping in a curled up position on his side, finding even more comfort laying close to Hikaru, his head on his arm. Sasuke smiled at the image a little bit before pulling the blanket over both his son and godson. Both Naruto and Sasuke kneeled down beside the bed and watched their sons sleeping for a long time, both lost in their own, individual thoughts. Sasuke brushed a little hair out of Tsubasa's face and sighed and thoughtfully sighed. Tsubasa was the oldest of the twins, born thirty-two seconds before Hikari. The moment he held his son, he was filled with both a sense of pride, duty and above all, love.Sure, his son looked literally looked like he could pass for his daughter, but Sasuke was almost positive when he got older, he'd grow into his looks and become a handsome devil just like himself. Sasuke smirked a little...He'd actually favor Itachi if he let his son grow out his hair, but only a little bit. Naruto's thoughts were elsewhere, wondering what kind of shinobi his son would be when he got older. Ironically enough, he resembled Hinata personality-wise, and himself feature-wise. Naruto sighed. He knew his son was ver sensitive about what other people thought, even at such a young age when he barely knew what the world was about. How impressive was it that not only that he'd come up with his own form of jutsu, be could perform it with amazing accuracy? What had he called it again? Lightspeed Ice Jutsu or something like that. Naruto could only proudly smile and stand up slowly, so's not to disturb his son and godson, Tsubsasa. He looked at Sasuke who nodded and stood up as well. Both exited the room, slowly closing the door behind them. As they walked in tandem to Naruto's office, Sasuke looked at the Hokage as he sighed,
"What the hell is wrong with people?" he asked no one in particular.
"Something happen?" Sasuke asked.
Naruto sighed with a nod.
"Hikaru's been overhearing people talk about him. It's starting to piss me off."
"Well then that makes two of us. Tsubasa keeps hearing a mixture of how the Uchiha Clan is going to fall again and how he looks so much like a girl..."
Naruto snorted a little before Sasuke glared at him. Both guys sighed a little.
"Konoha's villagers....Some are very kind, some are cruel and gossipy. I guess we would know, right?" Naruto said, looking at some papers.
"Unfortunately."
Naruto sat down behind his desk and Sasuke handed him a paper.
"Anyway, here's the roster for the Kage Examination and who's facing who. I find it ironic this is how it turned out." Sasuke smirked.
Naruto groaned. Why him? The first round consisted of Hinata vs Gaara and himself vs. Temari. Nine-times out of ten, it was going to be one hell of a set-up to see who would be facing who in the end. All Kages were formidable by far and didn't get to be a Kage just by their looks, that was for damn sure. He sighd, putting the paper down and looking at Sasuke.
"So, you and Shikamaru and Kiba will all be refererring I take it?"
"Of course. Just to make sure nothing gets out of hand. Needless to say, the Village Elders will be there along with an auidence of our peers, mostly our friends if we're lucky."
"And what about Hiashi Hyuuga?"
Sasuke shrugged a little.
"When I saw Inazuka earlier, he said Hiashi was still being detained. Can't exactly expect the man to go anywhere when both his legs and arms are broken. He's still being treated, but he's probably the LAST thing on Konoha's mind."
"What's the first?"
"The Hyuuga family is starting to fall apart at this point. I kind of hate to see it happen seeing how it's Hinata's family, but whatever."
Naruto sighed, a groan following shortly after. Sasuke shrugged and looked at Naruto.
"I'd suggest to Hinata-Chan she try and recouple her family, but until with the arrival of Hiashi's kid..."
Naruto looked at Sasuke who looked intense and Naruto's eyes widened.
"WHAT kid? I thought Hinata and Hanabi were his only."
Sasuke shook his head, surprised Naruto didn't know this knowledge, then again, Sasuke himself didn't know until he'd seen Shino earlier.
"This report actually came from Aburume himself. Apparently, Hiashi has a son that he sent away who was born a year earlier than Hinata, making him in OUR age group. I'd be willing to bet money it's a kid from a previous affair or something."
"Send for him. Where's he staying?"
"Where else? The Hyuuga mansion."
"Send for him. I want to see him. Does this kid have a name?"
"Hanzori Hyuuga. He just recently came to town and started asking about the Hyuuga clan. Now he's staying there."
"Send a messenger to find him. Now."
"Why so nervous about a kid?"
Naruto shook his head with a sigh.
"It's all too coincidential, I think. Hiashi's fall and capture, the Hyuuga clan falling apart with no heir, only to have this kid show up...?"
Sasuke nodded and went to send for a messenger. Naruto turned in his chair and looked out of the window at the overwhelming structure known as the Hyuuga Estate. They either just recieved an enemy or an ally, but the latter was hightly unlikely.
Hikaru waved from his father's arms as Hinata and her guards headed out of the gates of Konoha, heading back to Yukigure.
"Bai-bai okaachan!!!!"
