Chapter 6
“Gaara!” Naruto yelped in surprise. “What’re you doing?” Coherent thought fled as Naruto’s body yielded to Gaara’s and his eyes diverted to the red head’s lips.
Gaara crushed their lips together and roughly kissed his mate. “You’re mine, Uzumaki. Remember that.” he said with a growl.
Naruto could feel his knees grow weak as a burning need coursed through his body. Moaning at Gaara’s possessiveness, he leaned forward and brought their lips together again. A tongue found its way into his mouth and he sucked it, loving the feel of the wet muscle. The hands on his shoulders made their way down his torso, then back up under his jacket and pajama top. “Aahh... Gaara.” Naruto moaned when the kiss finally broke. Lips kissed and nipped their way across a whiskered cheek and to his ear.
“Mine.” Gaara said as he licked at the ear and sucked it into his mouth.
Naruto shivered and brought his hands up and around the black clad red head, supporting himself on Gaara as his legs continued to wobble beneath him. Another moan escaped his lips as sand callused fingers pinched and squeezed at his nipples, teasing them until they hardened. The lips moved from his ear and continued downward, stopping at the hollow of the neck. Naruto tilted his head back, giving Gaara better access to the sensitive skin.
“Gaara...” Naruto groaned with pleasure, wanting and needing to feel more - his body burned for Gaara’s touch. Gaara pressed himself harder against Naruto, grinding their erections together. Naruto’s breath was ragged, the friction shooting pleasure through his body and he begged for more. A hand snaked down between their bodies in answer and rubbed deliciously against his straining bulge.
“What the HELL ARE YOU DOING?!”
The furious shout echoed throughout the small room, and both Gaara and Naruto snapped their attention to the intruder. Sasuke stood just inside the bedroom doorframe, his fists clenched. His body shook in anger, his eyes burning with fury.
Naruto’s eyes shot open wide in surprise as realization of what he was once again doing hit him hard. He shoved Gaara away from his body, panting heavily, fighting the instinct to draw Gaara back into his arms. He glanced up at Sasuke, expecting to see disgust, betrayal and hatred aimed at him. He could see the fury radiating from the Uchiha and cringed as Sasuke charged, but made no move to defend himself - he deserved Sasuke’s punishment, deserved more then a beating he was about to receive; but no blow ever came.
Instead, Sasuke threw himself at Gaara, his fists swiping at the red head. Sand shot into the room, blocking every kick and punch effortlessly. Sasuke punched again and again, and each time the sand rose to block them. Furious, Sasuke jumped away from the Sand Nin, grabbed hold of his right arm and focused his chakra, preparing the Chidori.
The sound of a thousand birds sounded throughout the tiny room and Naruto watched in horror as the sand moved across the room towards Sasuke, enclosing around his legs. Gaara raised his arm, his hand outstretched, readying to make the final move.
“STOP IT!” Naruto screamed as he ran between the two Nin’s, his arms wrapping around Gaara’s outstretched one and he tugged pleadingly. Gaara turned his head and studied his mate, seeing the pain in the blue eyes. His hand instantly dropped to his side, but the sand remained tightly wrapped around Sasuke’s legs - he wasn’t fool enough to let the Uchiha free reign to attack him.
The Chidori continued to crackle throughout the room as Sasuke held onto it, waiting for a chance to pounce, to hurt the Sand Nin for touching his Naruto.
Naruto glared at the two Nin’s, his heart pounding in his chest. “I said, stop it! Back down this instant! Are you trying to tear up my room?” the Nin’s snarled at each other, watching the other closely as they slowly stood down. The sand shifted and swirled around Gaara, forming a gourd strapped to his back; Sasuke dissolved the Chidori, but remained on the defense, his attention focused fully on the Sand Nin.
“That’s better.” Naruto sighed with relief and stepped away from Gaara, his heart slowing its frantic beating.
“Want to tell me what the hell it was you were doing to Naruto?” Sasuke demanded, his voice dripping with venom, his eyes full of animosity. Gaara smirked and crossed his arms, his every movement saying, “You damn well know what I was doing.”
Sasuke snarled and readied to attack again, but Naruto quickly threw a restricting hand on him. “Don’t.” he said sternly. He looked at Gaara for a moment, trying to think of the best course of action. “I think you better go home now, Gaara. I need to speak with Sasuke.” he finally said, hating the look of hurt that flashed in the emerald eyes.
“Very well.” said Gaara, his voice void of any emotion. He made to move towards the door, but stopped as Naruto spoke again.
“I’ll talk to you tomorrow, okay?” he said, trying to reassure the red head. Gaara smirked at the blond and nodded his head, then he was out the door. Naruto let loose a shaky breath and turned to Sasuke, ready to receive condemnation for his betrayal.
Sasuke pounced on Naruto, once again shocking the blond as he ran his hands all over him, checking for injuries. “Are you okay?” asked Sasuke, “He didn’t hurt you, did he?” the look of confusion on Naruto’s face could have been comical if Sasuke hadn’t been so worried.
“I’m all right, Sasuke.” Naruto said, trying to wrap his head around the situation; he was positive that Sasuke would rip his head off when he found him in Gaara’s arms; why wasn’t he ripping his head off?
“I can’t believe that bastard took advantage of you while you’re in this condition! If I hadn’t come in when I did, who knows how far he would have gone!” Sasuke ranted, pulling the confused blond into his arms.
“Sasuke?” Naruto said, bewildered. The Uchiha was held him tight, practically squeezing the breath out of him. What the hell was going on? This was not the Sasuke he knew! But then, the Sasuke he knew never would have slept with him. “Sasuke - let go. I’m fine - really.” Naruto assured. Sasuke loosened his grip, but wouldn’t let Naruto go. He looked up into the Sasuke’s dark eyes and his breath hitched, but not from lack of air, Sasuke’s eyes held so much concern, it sent a pleasant warmth throughout his body.
“Are you sure?” Sasuke asked gently, brushing the back of his fingers along a whiskered cheek.
All Naruto could do was stare wide eyed at Sasuke and slowly nod. The fingers on his cheek moved and carded through his hair and he was vaguely aware of the fact that he was purring; he was suddenly feeling so content, he didn’t want the moment to ever end.
Sasuke leaned in and gently kissed Naruto’s bruised lips, his fingers entwined in the soft blond hair. Naruto’s purr grew louder and Sasuke found himself loving the sound of it - when did he learn to do that? He pulled back from the caressing kiss and looked into glazed blue eyes. Brushing his fingers over the whiskered cheek one last time, Sasuke let go of his gentle hold and stepped back.
Naruto whimpered at the loss of the touch, and tried to gain his bearings. Sasuke’s touch had been so gentle, so caring - when was the last time he ever received such a loving touch?
“Naruto.” Sasuke’s voice was soft and gentle and Naruto found himself drowning in it. Suddenly the warmth humming through his blood intensified, flaring into a burning need that made him shiver with desire.
“We need to talk.” said Sasuke firmly as he watched the heat build in the blue eyes. He wanted to comply with the silent plea, but they really needed to talk first; he had to know how the blond felt for him; he had to know if the night before was more then just a passing fling.

They moved to the living room, both sitting at opposite ends of the couch. Naruto was sweating again, his breath a little shallow, but he was determined to control himself. He looked everywhere but at Sasuke, hoping that by doing so he could calm his heated body.
“What did you want to talk about?” Naruto asked, breaking the silence that had settled almost uncomfortably around them.
‘Where do I start?’ Sasuke wondered as he tried to organize his thoughts and questions. He suppose he ought to start with the most obvious of them and just go from there. Taking a deep breath, he asked “Why did you sleep with me?” Naruto’s eyes widened as he snapped his head up to look at the Uchiha. “Was it because you wanted to be with me? Or, did you just need the release?”
Naruto blinked at the questions, hurt that Sasuke would think that of him, but he couldn’t blame him - Sasuke had found him in Gaara’s arms, even he would question his own motives. He thought the questions over, wanting to show Sasuke that he took them seriously. He turned his eyes from the Uchiha and focused on floor, gathering his thought.
“You should know that I see you more than just my rival and friend, Sasuke.” he began; his voice was so low it was almost a whisper. “I’ve wondered many times what it would feel like to be with you. I’ve fantasized that you would one day suddenly see me - see me for who I really am and accept me; I’ve dreamed that you would come to me and tell me that you didn’t hate me, that it was all and act - but I never really allowed myself to believe that you would love me or ever want me.” Naruto looked up, his eyes searching the Uchiha for a response. Sasuke sat staring at him, taking in the confession, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Naruto continued.
“I was so happy when you kissed me - I felt like my wish was finally answered. I didn’t know anything was wrong with me yesterday; even if yesterday was the result of - whatever my condition is - I’ve wanted it for a long time; longer then you think.”
Sasuke let out a silent breath of relief and mentally cheered at Naruto’s words. “So all those times you asked Sakura out…?” he asked. Naruto shrugged.
“It probably sounds cowardly, but she was safe. I knew she’d never say yes, and it distracted everyone from my real interest. You were my friend, my rival; I thought if you knew how I really felt about you, that you’d hate me.”
Sasuke suddenly felt the need to comfort the blond; he didn’t like seeing him like this, looking so alone. He reached out and pulled Naruto into his arms, giving him a reassuring hug. “I don’t hate you, Naruto.” he said in the most sincere voice he could manage.
Naruto smiled into Sasuke’s shoulder and he wrapped his arms around him, savoring the feel of the embrace, it was warm and comfortable in his arms and he was suddenly feeling more exhausted than he ever felt. He sighed deeply - his eyelids were feeling so heavy.
“Naruto?” Sasuke whispered softly, not wanting to disturb the peace that seemed to have settled over them.
“Hmm?” Naruto moaned, his breathing evening out.
“Can I keep you?”
“Mm hmm.” Naruto answered with the slightest of nods.
Sasuke smiled and wrapped his arms tighter around Naruto, pulling him closer to him. He pressed a gentle kiss to the blonde’s forehead, his smile widening as a soft, low purr began to resonate from the boy.
Warmth spread through him once more, fanning the fire that burned his blood. Naruto opened his tired eyes and smiled up at Sasuke. A hand gently cupped his chin and tipped head up. Soft lips met his for the sweetest of kisses the two had ever shared and Naruto moaned as he carded his fingers through raven locks. A contented sigh escaped Naruto as the kiss ended, and Sasuke smiled warmly at him.
“I should go.” Sasuke said, though he made no move to leave. Naruto shook his head at him, giving him those hopeful eyes again.
“You can stay if you want.” he offered with a sleepy smile.
“You sure?” asked Sasuke, enjoying the warmth running through him.
“I’m sure. M’comfy.” Naruto answered, cuddling back up against the Uchiha.
“Then I’ll stay.” Sasuke promised. He ran his fingers through the blonde’s hair as the boy fell asleep and he realized he didn‘t finish his questions. But at that moment, he couldn’t care less; Naruto was his, that was all that mattered.
Sasuke closed his eyes and smiled as the rhythm of the soft purrs to lulled him to sleep.
