Spartan Ninjas
~ Chapter Six ~
By: Cecilia Tsukineko and Kirei Kitsue

------The next morning-----
Naruto woke up almost an entire hour before the alarm went off and he simply lay there, watching Sasuke sleep. The day before hadn't been just a wonderful dream... it was real. There really was someone who wanted to be with him, who cared about him... a true friend... maybe more. ::A lot more,:: Naruto thought as light fingers traced over Sasuke's chest caressingly, a content smile on his face. The alarm shrieked and Naruto slammed the snooze button, glaring at it. He didn't want to get out of bed yet. If it was up to him he would stay in bed with Sasuke like this all day.

Sasuke stirred a little and then settled again. Apparently the alarm hadn't woken him enough since Naruto slammed it quiet so quickly. He seemed ready to sleep a lot longer.

Ten minutes later it shrieked again, earning another slam and glare from Naruto. Looking at the time he sighed and propped himself up on one arm. "Sasuke," he said quietly, stroking his cheek. "Sasuke, time to get up. We have to go to calc."

Pitch black lashes fluttered and lifted to reveal sleepy, hazy onyx eyes. "Time?" he asked as his hands came up to cup Naruto's upper arms, rubbing them lightly.

"Nine thirty. C'mon, up." Naruto pinched Sasuke's nose lightly, smirking.

Sasuke nodded and sat up slowly. "Alright... down you go..." he ordered softly. "I'll be right behind..." yawn "...you."

Chuckling Naruto leaned over to brush his lips against Sasuke's briefly. "Good morning," he chirped before climbing off the bed, putting his usual breakfast of ramen in the microwave to cook as he went to the bathroom.

By the time Naruto came out of the bathroom Sasuke was dressed and ready to use it himself. The ramen was out and steaming on a TV tray, waiting for Naruto to eat it. "Your ramen in done..." he said as he caught Naruto about the stomach and pulled Naruto close for a kiss. "I'll be out in a few... and then we can leave. Ne?"

"Yep." As soon as Sasuke let him go Naruto pulled some clothes on and downed his breakfast with his usual speed. It wasn't long before they left for class.

-----------That Evening, 5:30---------
Naruto slung his bag over his shoulder and entered Sasuke's cave to kiss his cheek. "I'm gonna go. Tonight's wrestling team tryouts and I wanna get there early. I'll be back latest ten, okay?"

Sasuke turned and kissed Naruto back. "Stay safe... and good luck," he murmured and stroked Naruto's cheek gently.

"Thanks," Naruto said with a confident grin, walking out the door with a bounce in his step.

------------Late That Night----------
Sore all over – but in the good way that said he'd worked out for the past few hours – Naruto walked home along the lighted streets, humming with a huge grin on his face. He'd made it on the team and he couldn't wait to tell Sasuke!

"Hello Naruto," a cool voice said from behind him.

"Hm?" Naruto turned around and was about to smile in greeting to Ino when he noticed she wasn't alone... by a long shot. She was accompanied by a huge swarm of angry-looking girls. "Hey... what's up?" he asked, trying to stay cheerful despite the sudden cold feeling in the pit of his stomach. This had to be bad...

Sakura – having decided that Ino was right – cracked her knuckles as half the mob moved around behind him. "We're not here for chit-chat, Naruto..." And a few of the girls around her murmured in agreement.

"We're here to tell you to stay away from Sasuke... as anything other than his roommate..." some random girl stated, her tone vicious.

::Oh... shit!:: They had completely surrounded him and he was too sore to make a successful run for it. "What do you mean? Sasuke and I are just friends," Naruto insisted, hoping an innocent act would get him out of here safely.

"You know what we mean," Ino said coldly, giving him a murderous glare. "I heard you with him last night, you bastard."

Naruto looked shell-shocked. He hadn't been expecting that! Not even taking the time to think he sputtered, "But- how- when- How?!" As soon as it came out of his mouth he regretted it – he might as well have just shot himself right then. ::Shit!!!::

That was all it took. The girls pounced him. And they weren't nice about it either. Sakura least of all it seemed, though Ino was a close second. The sheer numbers of them made it nearly impossible for Naruto to do anything but try and block their blows. But somehow he did find a hole in the wall of female anger and he did make it through, but they were right behind him, practically slathering at his heels like wolves on the trail of a kill. And then there were hands on his arms catching him as he crashed into a solid body.

"Naruto -..." Sasuke's voice was surprised but it lost that and stopped dead at his lips when he looked up and saw the masses with Ino right at the head and Sakura not too far behind her. He looked down at the blond he held by the biceps, just mere-inches in front of him.

"Sasuke!! Thank god!!" Naruto dove behind him, using him as a shield from the crazy mob. "Save me!! They're trying to kill me!!"

Ino stopped a few feet away from Sasuke, the other girls taking her lead and stopping as well. "Please get out of the way, Sasuke," she said calmly. "We have business with him."

Sasuke stared at her for a moment and then reached behind him to rest a quieting hand against Naruto's side. The boy was hugging closely to him and it made it easy for Sasuke to twist his arm back to do so. His eyes narrowed as he took on an aloof attitude. "Any so-called 'business' you might have with him, gives you business with me. What's the problem?" he asked coldly.

Sakura and the rest of the mob were silent. They were following Ino – she had started the whole mess – and so they were going to let her have her say first. They'd all add their own voices soon enough.

"We made a request of him. He refused." Ino met Sasuke's gaze easily, confident that in the end he would be on her side.

"You didn't give me time to say anything!!" Naruto protested, looking over Sasuke's shoulder to glare at her but she just ignored him.

"And what," Sasuke's expression darkened considerably. "Was your request?"

"That he be your roommate and nothing else."

There was a long moment of silence and then Sasuke slowly took two steps closer to her. He was still for just a second and then his hand came up, palm meeting her cheek with a soft though biting crack. Her cheek would be red the rest of the night, but there would be no bruising and that pinkened tone of skin would fade before dawn. "Don't you ever... come near him again," he said in a low and dangerous voice. The force of the blow had hardly even turned her head but his point was obvious. "Any of you," he added, looking up and over the masses. He met no one's gaze but everyone could swear that he looked directly at them and then through them.

After another second's pause he turned to Naruto and immediately his stiff and chill demeanor melted, leaving in its place a warm and concerned lover. "Naruto... are you alright?" he asked softly of the blond, invading the boy's personal space and bringing both hands up to cradle Naruto's face in his hands while looking down at him, long bangs waving elegantly around their faces in the slightly chill night breeze.

"Yeah," Naruto answered just as softly, a little smile on his face. Satisfied that Sasuke had taken care of the situation he proceeded to ignore the stunned mob of girls. "Just sore and stiff, but that's what happens when you wrestle for three hours after not doing it for a summer."

Sasuke's nose rubbed lightly against Naruto's and the dark-haired youth murmured, "Did you make the team?" He was completely acting as if the girls were not there any more and as if he didn't care whether they were or they weren't. To be truthful he couldn't give a rat's ass if they were.

"Yep!" Naruto grinned, looking positively ecstatic. He loved wrestling. It made him feel like a Gladiator. "We start practices next week and competitions are in the spring."

Sakura reached up to touch Ino's shoulder as the shock wore off and she was forced to tear her eyes away from the scene in front of them. "Ino... are you okay?" she began. The mob behind them was slowly and stiffly disbanding, each girl running off to lick her wounds in her own way. It wasn't over yet by any means for some of them. Sakura was thinking, however, that for her at least, it was.

Ino didn't respond to her touch, glaring poisonously at the blond boy. ::This isn't over... I will not admit defeat. Sasuke will be mine.:: Holding her head high she walked by the young men as if they weren't there, heading home, knowing better than to threaten Naruto with Sasuke there. ...But there were plenty of times when Naruto didn't have Sasuke to protect him, and that was when she would strike.

Sakura moved with her, disquieted beyond explanation at the girl's intense attitude. Ino was dangerous when she was like this. Very dangerous.

Sasuke's voice was happy as he murmured, "Good for you," to Naruto as Ino and Sakura walked past them, loud enough to be a knife in their backs but not loud enough to be considered outside the boundaries of politeness. His lips brushed over Naruto's as the last word left his mouth and he kissed the blond slowly, savoring the taste of victory as well as Naruto. Life was more than good for him at the moment though now he knew he'd have to watch over Naruto very carefully, protectively but cautiously. He didn't want Naruto to think that Sasuke thought him to be weak, because Sasuke knew that he was not.

Purring happily Naruto cupped Sasuke's face as he kissed him back. While he lacked most of the finesse Sasuke had, his kisses were quickly becoming less clumsy as he learned from his best friend. Reluctantly he broke the kiss to murmur, "We'd better head home. I really need a hot shower or else I'll be too stiff to move in the morning."

Sasuke made some small discontent sound but straightened after licking Naruto's lips playfully. "Fine," he grunted and tucked Naruto under one shoulder, turning them for the dorm and their room.

The instant they walked in the door Naruto dove into the bathroom and was in there for a good hour, soaking his sore muscles in the school's seemingly unlimited supply of hot water. When he emerged in his sweatpants feeling mostly human again he flopped onto the couch, sighing. "Ow..." he groaned.

Leaning down Sasuke pulled the couch out beneath Naruto and then looked down at him. "On your stomach, Naruto," he ordered his tone brooking no argument. Anybody listening might get the wrong impression, but at the moment Sasuke wasn't looking to do more than possibly cuddle some before bed. His intention was to employ some knowledge granted him by one of his more frequent "friends" not so very long ago.

Curious Naruto rolled onto his stomach, watching Sasuke with tired eyes. He was more than ready to fall asleep.

Kneeling onto the couchbed Sasuke straddled Naruto's thighs without sitting on them and reached out to caress his hands from the back of Naruto's bare shoulders to his lower back, his hands cradling stiff muscles gently before applying pressure with the heel of each hand to either side of his spine. Sasuke apparently learned very well and very quickly how to turn a human into a puddle of mush.

Moaning quietly as his body was mauled into warm submission Naruto let his eyes drift shut, a tiny content smile on his lips. Sasuke's gentle hands on his back coaxing his muscles to relax was pure bliss. It wasn't long before the massage lulled him into deep sleep. Nothing would wake him up now until morning.

When he'd completely turned his boyfriend into Naru-mush, Sasuke got up quietly and headed for the closet and bathroom to grab pajamas, shower, and change. When he emerged he pulled a clean light sheet out of the drawer he kept his extra linens in over in his clear plastic tower of drawers in the closet and then settled next to Naruto, covering them both with the sheet. Resting his cheek on the back of Naruto's shoulder and snuggling up to the blond's side Sasuke fell into a quiet sleep, content.

----------Next Week Thursday----------
Humming "Roll Me Over in the Clover" Naruto climbed the stairs to the second floor of Holmes Hall. True to his word Sasuke had taken him to Ren Fest again the previous weekend and they'd had a blast. Everyone was wonderfully sweet to them (in attempt to be forgiven for the kissing bridge incident) and they had both soaked it in. The best part'd been when he and Sasuke had been dragged up on stage during the Washing Wenches' show for the pirate skit. Naruto'd been "Veronica" and Sasuke'd been "Bubba". Naruto was having fun making sure Sasuke never lived down having a white bra strapped onto his head – "Because a hero must have a hat!" Daphne had insisted – as revenge for "accidentally" dropping him in the washing well when Naruto had leapt into his arms at Winnie's instruction to "passionately embrace". And now Naruto was addicted to the Limey Bird's CD, which was a collection of dirty but hilarious songs, and he'd sing them every chance he got, much to Sasuke's amusement.

A pained scream tore Naruto from his recollections as he walked into the hallway. It was a voice he recognized... ::Sasuke!!:: Fast as he could he dashed to his room and threw the door open, seeing red at the scene within.

Sasuke knelt at the feet of his foster father, arm bent back and twisted upwards in a way it was never made to flex. He knew his scream had effectually drowned out the sickening pop of his shoulder being dislocated but Naruto burst through the door just in time to hear the gut-churning crunch of bones being broken within a powerful grip. Sweat broke out over and poured down Sasuke's face as he shut his eyes tightly, gasping with the double pains. Part of him was angry and that part wanted to drive him to his feet and fight back. That part felt cold and methodical, but it wasn't standing much of a chance against the pain Sasuke's mind was dealing with and so he tried only once to get to his feet and when his arm was wrenched in retaliation he hit his knees and stayed there, shaking. It all happened so fast, almost in the blink of an eye. Sasuke's head was spinning with dizziness and pain.

His foster father looked up and saw Naruto, the roommate with whom they had all conversed with not so long ago on one of their trips to visit an absent Sasuke. "This isn't any of your business..." he began.

"THE HELL IT ISN'T!!!! OUT!!!! OUT!!!!!!!" Naruto roared, attacking Sasuke's foster father as his foster mother and foster brother looked on with shocked, wide eyes. Where had the sweet boy they'd talked to last week gone?! Somehow the small blonde managed to get the huge man off Sasuke and almost literally throw him out of the room, the rest of the family soon following. The sound of the door slamming echoed loudly in the hall.

Sasuke's foster mother immediately began speed-walking down the hall in order to escape. "Quickly, before he calls the police," she urged her husband and son. They followed her without argument, knowing her to be absolutely right.

Forcing his anger down Naruto knelt by Sasuke. "How bad is it?" he asked, his voice thick with venom and fury.

Sasuke panted softly, like a kitten that had run too much playing, and braced his weight on his good arm, hunched over now that he wasn't hanging his weight by his arm. Said arm hung twisted and limp at his side, already purpling with bruises and looking every inch as mangled as it was. Sasuke didn't seem either able or inclined to speak.

Jaw rigid with rage Naruto got up to grab the phone and dial 911. He knew better than to try and move Sasuke without help and wasn't going to try. He'd seen too many people have injuries worsened on his high school teams by people who thought they knew what they were doing and didn't. A moment later he was kneeling beside Sasuke again. "Don't worry, Sasuke. There's an ambulance coming," he assured him, hoping he could hear him through the pain.

Shaking Sasuke tipped towards Naruto and leaned against him. Now that there was some actual contact between them it was obvious how badly his body was shaking, the tremors of each of his muscles seizing like mini-earthquakes. It made his shoulder hurt more but at the same time it was a natural and unstoppable response without the aid of medicines.

Iruka reached the door to the last room in the hallway and pounded adamantly on it, praying that he hadn't taken too long whatever the problem might have been. "Naruto! Sasuke! Are you both alright in there?! It's me, Iruka!" ::I hope they remember me...::

::The floor mentor...:: "It's open!" Naruto called, carefully cradling Sasuke's head against his shoulder, his other hand holding the bicep of Sasuke's good arm. "It'll be okay... I promise, it's gonna be okay..." he whispered to Sasuke, kissing his hairline. As soon as Sasuke was alright, Naruto was going to kill his damn foster family!

Iruka walked into the room and then rushed forward with quick large steps coming to kneel right beside the two. "What happened?!" he exclaimed. "Have you called an ambulance?!" He could tell just by looking that Sasuke certainly needed one.

A low moan erupted from Sasuke, muffled by Naruto's shoulder. "Are they gone?" he asked softly. It wouldn't be very surprising that he didn't remember much past the initial pains and seemed to actually be coming around now as though he had been unconscious before.

"Yes, they're gone. And yes, I did call for one. It's on its way," Naruto answered them both, pulling Sasuke closer gently. He really didn't like the way Sasuke's arm was swelling. At least the bone hadn't broken through the skin...

"They who? What happened, Naruto?" Iruka insisted. He had to know what had happened! This was his floor and it was supposed to be a safe place for everyone that lived there. Something had to be done but not just because it was his floor... Sasuke didn't deserve to have his arm broken!

"Good..." Sasuke muttered and tried to pull away to get up.

Naruto held him firmly. "Don't even think about it. You're not moving until the medical team gets here." Looking at Iruka he said, "I'm not quite sure what happened. I was just coming back from class when I heard him scream. All I know is that it was his foster father that did this to him."

Groaning softly Sasuke remained still, unable to resist Naruto's embrace even if he really wanted to. "Damn it..."

"I heard the scream... but it took me a little while to find the source... I'll notify the police -..."

"No! No police," Sasuke stated suddenly lifting his head as far as he could with his shoulder starting to swell into his neck. "No police," he repeated.

"Yes police!" Naruto growled, holding Sasuke's head to his shoulder more firmly to prevent him from moving. "You are filing a police report even if I have to tie to the chair to make you do it!"

Sasuke was about to argue when the ambulance crew filed in through the still open door. Grimacing – oh how he hated anything to do with death including hospitals and of course morgues – Sasuke allowed them to look him over, but his good hand fisted in Naruto's shirt possessively as if he didn't dare let go or Naruto would vanish.

"I'll call the police and give them a heads up... We can work on the police report when you two get back. Let me know if you need anything..." And with that Iruka got up and headed to his room to place a phone call to the police station.

As soon as the medical team deemed it safe to move Sasuke they left for the hospital. Fortunately it was very close to campus – no more than a ten minute drive, or three since the ambulance had its sirens going. Sasuke's arm and shoulder had to be dealt with as soon as possible to prevent dangerous infection. Naruto stayed by his side holding his good hand until they took Sasuke into the back of the emergency ward for x-rays and possibly surgery. Forced to sit in the waiting room for hours he glowered at the ruined shirt in his hands – they'd had to cut Sasuke's shirt away to get at his arm – and began to methodically tear it into little pieces.

Finally a nurse came to fetch him and led him to Sasuke's room. Dumping the shreds of fabric at the end of Sasuke's bed Naruto sat down on the mattress right next to Sasuke's right hip. "Hey. How're you feeling?"

Looking more than simply bedraggled and abused Sasuke eyed him for a moment like he didn't know him and then reached out with his good hand towards Naruto's face. "Okay... I think... yeah..." he muttered very softly. His left arm was casted and in a sling. A few bags hung on an IV rack – Naruto read "morphine" on one of them – and were connected to Sasuke through a catheter in his right hand.

Naruto leaned over to press a light kiss to Sasuke's mouth. "Maybe I should ask again later when you're not doped up," he teased, his anger gone for the most part now that Sasuke was alright and healing. He'd be angry later when he helped in filing the police report. Right now all that mattered was making sure Sasuke was comfortable.

That still good arm looped around behind Naruto's neck and pulled him down, kissing him more deeply, and definitely more passionately. "Mm – Naruto..." Sasuke murmured softly, enjoying it thoroughly.

"Easy, killer," Naruto chuckled, being especially careful of Sasuke's left arm. "I'm not going anywhere. And you're an invalid now, remember?"

"Tch," was Sasuke's unintelligent response to Naruto's minor, teasing insult. He tightened that arm more and pulled Naruto into another tender yet arousing kiss. Apparently Sasuke didn't care that a nurse or doctor could walk in at any moment and find them with Naruto half kneeling on the bed over top of him and Sasuke with his good arm holding Naruto in kisses meant for a more private room.

::I think I like it when he's doped up...:: was Naruto's last coherent thought before he gave in to the kiss. Somehow he managed to stay mindful of Sasuke's arm as he lifted himself and threw a leg over Sasuke's, straddling him. Eagerly he deepened the kiss, cradling Sasuke's face in his hands.

Sasuke's hand slid down slowly from Naruto's shoulder, along his spine, until he found Naruto's lower back and hip and then pulled Naruto's pelvis down to meet his as he lifted up a fraction from the mattress. A soft moan spilled into Naruto's mouth as Sasuke rubbed against him while settling down to the mattress and Naruto still held tightly to him. He broke the kiss then and used the bridge of his nose to bunt Naruto's chin up, tilting the blond's head back and exposing his throat for Sasuke's hungry, eager lips, tongue and teeth. Naruto wasn't walking out of that hospital room without a few "souvenirs" in lovely shades of purple.

Considering that Naruto wasn't planning on leaving the hospital, let alone this hospital room, for as long as possible he was going to have a lot of "souvenirs". Keeping one hand on Sasuke's good shoulder to keep their chests apart and avoid jarring Sasuke's arm, Naruto let his head fall back with a quiet groan to give his boyfriend as much room as possible. He loved it when Sasuke played with his neck.

Sucking lightly on Naruto's pulse, Sasuke groaned and nipped the newly reddened skin. "Naruto..." he groaned softly against the wet skin. Now that he was certain Naruto wasn't going any where Sasuke's arm let go of his boyfriend's waist and instead tried to push that hand up Naruto's shirt. The only problem was, the catheter kept getting stuck on the hem of the shirt, which made Sasuke hiss lightly with pain and then growl low in his throat with frustration.

Chuckling at Sasuke's frustration, Naruto leaned away just long enough to pull his shirt off and throw it onto a chair before capturing Sasuke's mouth for a deep, sensual kiss. His free hand tangled in raven silk, pulling Sasuke closer to meld their lips together as he lightly ground their hips together.

----------The Main Lobby of Sparrow Hospital---------
"Excuse me," Ino said politely, standing in front of the receptionist's desk with a bouquet in her hand. "My boyfriend was brought in earlier today and I'd like to see him."

"His name, dear?"

"Sasuke Uchiha." It hadn't taken long for the news that Sasuke had been taken away in an ambulance to spread through the campus like wildfire (long live gossip chains... not) and Ino had acted as soon as she'd heard.

The nurse rolled her eyes and said, "Go join the rest of them." She pointed to the large group of girls taking up most of the waiting room. Apparently Ino had been far from the only one to act on the news.

Putting on her best "pity me" face Ino tried to sweet-talk her way in. "Please, ma'am, I really am his girlfriend. Can you please let me see him?"

"You can't be his girlfriend. Sasuke's gay," a lazy voice said behind her.

"Kakashi! Long time no see!" the receptionist cooed, giving him a bright smile. "What brings you here today?"

Kakashi smiled back. "Hey Bethany. Business. Police report. Which room is Uchiha in?"

Bethany blinked in confusion. "But he's not dead." Kakashi was in forensics, meaning he usually only showed up at the hospital to deal with crimes that ended with somebody dead.

"He's a student of mine and I volunteered to take care of it," Kakashi explained, greatly enjoying the polaxed/angry look on Ino's face from suddenly being treated as if she wasn't there. She clearly wasn't used to such treatment. Oh, and he'd called Sasuke gay. "Room, Beth?"

"He's on the second floor," she said, knowing better than to give the exact room with a huge group of girls eagerly listening. She grinned coyly at Kakashi. "You free tomorrow night?"

He shook his head apologetically. "Sorry, but I have a case right now that's taking up all my time. Ask me again next week, okay?" Waving goodbye to her he headed for the stairs, leaving her to deal with an irate Ino.

It wasn't hard to find Sasuke's room – all the nurses were eager to help him – and Kakashi soon got an eyeful as he just walked in after a few knocks had gotten him no response. "Well, this is an interesting sight," he said calmly.

Rustling sheets, roaming hands, soft growls and quiet moans were the only response that Kakashi received. In fact it was undeterminable whether Sasuke even registered him or not. The dark-haired boy was far too busy caressing Naruto's stomach and undoing his pants so that he could get his hand down the back of them without catching the catheter. At some point Sasuke had managed to hit the lower-lighting button on his emergency remote and so the room was moderately dark, or softly lit depending on how one chose to look at it, thus giving Naruto's softly tanned body a gentle glow that contrasted with the almost supernatural shade of ivory of the hand that was slowly trekking its way over the boy's back and down the back of his pants now. Sasuke grabbed Naruto's rump and ground their hips together harder. They'd been at this for the last half-hour without stopping and although neither had any intention of going all the way there in the hospital, one couldn't tell just by looking.

A very amused smile on his face, Kakashi shut the door behind him and walked over to the bed to tap Naruto on the shoulder. "Excuse me," he said calmly. "I really hate to break up this make-out session but I need to talk to you boys about a few things."

Blushing brightly when the tap on his shoulder alerted him to Kakashi's presence, Naruto turned his head to sheepishly grin at him. "Uh... hi..." He tried to gently push Sasuke away from his neck – Naruto was already sporting an interesting collection of bruises – but it wasn't quite working.

Chuckling Kakashi asked, "The morphine?" When Naruto nodded, turning even brighter red, Kakashi tapped Sasuke's good shoulder. "Let him go for a moment, hornball. I need to talk to you."

Kakashi's only answer was snarl and the most vicious death glare over Naruto's shoulder. As Sasuke's eyes narrowed the black seemed to flash theatrically red for a split second, as though his anger at being disrupted had bled into his very irises, but it was gone in the next instant.

Kakashi just raised an eyebrow at that and blamed it on a trick of the light. "You heard me, kid. Stop playing pitbull for just a moment so I can ask you a couple questions. The faster we get this over with the faster you can go back to eating your boyfriend." He chuckled as Naruto pretended he hadn't heard that.

Very reluctantly Sasuke delivered one last nip to Naruto's already over-nibbled neck and slowly withdrew his hand from the back of Naruto's pants. He grumbled at Naruto to get off... even though that was the last thing he wanted unless it was in the metaphorical sense, and then turned his full attention on Kakashi. The morphine hadn't yet made him hallucinate or at least not that he could tell. But... then why was Kakashi wearing a funny black sweatband with a oddly etched silver plate on it and a mask and that ridiculously uncomfortable looking outfit...? His brow furrowed and he rubbed at his eyes with his good hand, trying to bring the real thing into focus. Apparently Naruto distracting him so soundly had been a good way to stave off the hallucinations. Now that the distraction was gone...

The forensics professor made short work of his interview, asking only what needed to be asked ("How long have you been with that family?" "I've been with them for the last eight years."; "Have they done things like this to you before?" "Yes."; "Have they ever broken anything before this incident?" "Yes."; etc.) and waiting patiently for Sasuke to answer. Once he was done with Sasuke he turned his attention to Naruto. "Have you ever seen his family before today?"

"They came last week while Sasuke was in class," Naruto answered. "They said they were worried because he never answered the phone when they called or called back when they left messages. They asked me a lot of questions, but they seemed really nice. Thinking back on it they were probably trying to get me to spy on him for them or something. I had to ask them to leave before Sasuke got back 'cause I had class."

Nodding Kakashi stood up and tucked his notepad back in his pocket. "Thanks boys. I'll be back again later when your brain isn't so screwy, Sasuke," he teased. "Don't eat each other too much. Later." He left.

"He is so weird..." Naruto muttered after the door had shut.

Sasuke stared at the door for a few minutes after Kakashi had left and then slowly turned his attention to Naruto. It had been very very odd to answer questions – personal or not – asked by a man dressed so very oddly. Sasuke knew he was on morphine and knew that it had to have been a product of the drug messing with him but still... His eyes focused on Naruto then, his excessively dilated pupils retracting just a tiny fraction. Lying still he waited, expecting that Naruto would come to him before he had to ask for it.

Turning his head to look at Sasuke, Naruto laughed. He knew what he wanted and was more than willing to give it to him. Cupping Sasuke's chin in the palm of his hand, he ran a light finger over his bottom lip before kissing him lightly. It was so much fun to be a tease.

A small frustrated groan accompanied the looping of Sasuke's good arm about Naruto's back to haul him closer. Sasuke was trying desperately to encourage Naruto to straddle him again. The groan turned to a growl when Naruto resisted. Sasuke wasn't in the mood to be teased too much.

Naruto just grinned and ducked his head to gently assault Sasuke's neck with his mouth. It was his turn to leave marks. At the same time he slipped a hand underneath the bedsheet and Sasuke's hospital gown to lightly caress the inside of one pale thigh.

Forget straddling... he liked that idea even better, and let it be known by letting his thighs spread gradually with each gentle caress. Sasuke tipped his head back and closed his eyes, loving the feeling of a warm mouth on his neck and throat. He hissed in a breath every time Naruto's teeth grazed his sensitive flesh and that sharp inhalation was always accompanied by a small moan or groan afterwards.

Slowly Naruto's hand trailed up Sasuke's leg to his hip, coming close to but just missing his arousal. He kissed and nipped his way up Sasuke's neck to nibble at his earlobe, purring happily as he teased his boyfriend.

Stifling an outright growling scream of frustration Sasuke arched up a little into Naruto's hand on hip, hoping the blond would get on with it and stop screwing around. Though that mouth on his ear... his eyes hooded and he purred, an erotic and arousing sound to match his sultry appearance.

Naruto nuzzled the spot behind Sasuke's ear as his hand idly caressed his hip. "I'd better go soon," he murmured. "I have to grab dinner and I have some homework to do for tomorrow. I'll email your professors and let them know you can't make it, okay?" He kissed Sasuke's temple. "Besides, you should rest so your arm'll heal faster."

Sasuke growled a little at the mention of Naruto leaving. "You're not going any where without me. They'll be letting me out in a little while... A few hours at any rate. The doctor said he'd be by later to gradually switch me from morphine to vicodin... I'll help you do your homework." The words beneath those were 'Just don't leave... Please don't leave me alone here with gropey nurses and smothering fangirls... Alone.' A little pathetic but in his condition he figured it was permissible.

Understanding him completely Naruto laughed and kissed him lightly. "Well, since you asked so nicely, I suppose I can wait a few more hours. Though I'm not sure whether I want your help tonight since you're so out of it," he teased. He hadn't really wanted to leave without Sasuke anyway. And the only homework he had left was calculus since Sasuke had somehow managed to get him almost an entire week ahead of his chem class. Calc he could do on his own still. "Did he say how long you have to wear the cast and sling?"

"Months," was the short reply as Sasuke shifted his thigh. The very least that Naruto could do would be to cuddle with him. Sasuke was starting to feel a little on the sleepy side anyway, meaning Naruto had wasted playtime... A small part of his brain was a little miffed but the rest of him was quickly losing itself to exhaustion from the trauma his body had experienced. Sighing, Sasuke reached up (with his good arm of course), shoved Naruto to lay beside him on the right. And then he snuggled up to him yawning big enough to pop his jaw. "See what you did, usuratonkachi..." he mumbled, barely coherent, not specifying exactly what had been done.

"What did I do?" Naruto asked, amused, but Sasuke was already asleep.
