Chapter 6

Hey! Sorry about not updating sooner my friend just had a birthday so we were out partying! =^^= My apologies for my horrid spelling I went back and fixed it though. In the future I will be a lot more careful with it and sorry if a few words get misspelled on accident. Thanks for reading and the reviews! Any way here’s the next chapter enjoy!

So it went for the next 2 weeks, Gaara and Lee were inseparable. This did indeed earn a few curious looks from the citizens of Konoha to see Gaara of the desert walking hand in hand down the walkway with Lee. Neither cared however.
Gaara was even training with Lee by practice face offs. Gaara was hesitant when Lee asked him due to the guilty conscience of what had happened at the exams but Lee insisted that it wasn’t going to be like that because it was only training. Training to help sharpen they're fighting techniques. So after Lee's relentless begging Gaara gave in. That was his weakness, Lee.
That’s where they were now both slumped resting they’re backs aganced tree’s opposite to another. Lee was panting and had a look of satisfaction plastered on his features. "I really think I’m improving!" He had finally managed ,after a half an hour of fighting, a way to penetrate Gaara's sand shield even with his weights on. This was a feat he hadn’t been able to do before at the exam.
Touching the small scrape Lee had inflicted on him from his progress Gaara smirked. "Its not me you should be trying to perfect defeating."
Lee was puzzled "Oh? And who pray tell is that?" He asked with interest.
“Why that one violent girl from before… Tenten was it? Yes that it…” Lee froze. “Yes I do believe you should be practicing fighting her or at least your hiding skills due to how you seemed to have forgotten again….” Gaara leaned back and smirked watching the terror take hold of his Lee. Yes he could’ve very well have reminded Lee about Tenten this morning when they set out but he wanted Lee to him self. Plus he rather did enjoy seeing Lee in a state of panic it was very amusing indeed.
“Well it’s been nice living while it lasted.” Lee said sorrowfully. And as if on queue they heard from some where in the far distance Tenten scream Lee’s name. Lee shuddered “I’m doomed.”
Gaara chuckled “Well you had a good run. Common then lets head back.

“I thought I was seriously going to die…” Lee said wincing as he sat down on his bed. Gaara walked over with a few cotton balls and ointment and kneeled in front of Lee. He started dabbing the places where Tenten had dished out her ‘punishment’.
“If it hadn’t been for you holding her back I probably would be…” Gaara had aided Lee by shielding most of Tenten’s wrath by managing to get a grip on her to hold her back. The problem was she got to Lee before Gaara did, he had just turned his back for a mere minute only to look back as the noises of a one sided battle started
“Ow ow!” Lee shyed away from Gaara’s ministrations on his wounds. Putting a finger under Lee’s chin Gaara guided Lee’s face back to face him so he could finish cleaning and bandaging the scrapes.
“Sorry” Gaara murmured every time Lee winced. Finally placing the final bandage on Lee’s right lower cheek. “There, she really did a number on you…”
“Thanks Gaara-Kun” Lee said smiling that big goofy smile known to all as ‘The nice guy pose.’
Gaara actually smiled back “I need to talk to you about something Lee.” Looking strait in to Lee’s eyes he continued. “I need to go back to the sand village in a few days as you know…”
Lee looked down sadly he had known this was going to happen but he had hoped not as soon as it did. When he was with Gaara time seemed to fly by.
Gaara continued. “I must go back because I am the Kazakage and I need to watch over my village but I have every intention on taking you with me.” Lee looked up suddenly in shock.
“Gaara I cant go to the sand village!” Lee exclaimed caught off guard on what Gaara was proposing. “I have friends and family here my life is here!”
That was true unlike Gaara, Lee had attachments, and unlike Gaara he belonged somewhere.
“At least come back with me so that I can announce our union to my village.” Gaara said standing up and folding his arms.
In the short time Lee had gotten to know Gaara he knew that this body language said that he was preparing him self for something and that he was going to be stubborn about it. It was a cocky posture that made Lee think Gaara was being annoying but still the pose was sexy all the same.
“You mean?!” Lee said blinking in disbelief.
“Yes I suppose you could call it that if you want.” Gaara said indifferently.
“Marriage?!” Lee stared up at Gaara dumbly.
“As I said if that’s what you want to call it, yes marriage. Either way I need you to return with me so I can announce it.” Gaara finished and waited for Lee’s reaction.
Needless to say Lee was exhilarated by the idea of always being by Gaara’s side permanently but how could that work? His home was here at Konoha. This was where he grew up! This is where his life was. He knew long distance relationships never worked out and even though Gaara had made it seem he could return Lee knew that if he accepted he couldn’t come back and live here. He would have to live in the sand village with Gaara and visit Konoha from time to time not the other way around.
“I’ll give you three days to think about it.” With that Gaara walked out of the room. Leaving Lee to reel in his thoughts.. and make the decision alone.
