Disclaimer:
I do not own Naruto, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Shikamaru: The Me That is Only For You
Neko: Mah! It's my birthday so I'm going to give you all a present: AN UPDATE!!! Yah me! Okay, this one's Shikamaru, who has been paiently awaiting his turn (more like he's too lazy to even bother me about updating -kicks the lazy nin in the head, who just sighs-). I really do want to appologise for not updating sooner, but what can you do with writer's block, eh? Gaara-kun, disclaimer please!
Gaara: Kinomoto-sama does not own the Naruto characters, that right goes to Kishimoto-sama... Hn... Neko, when will it be my turn?
Neko: -blinks at the question- Uhm, well Kiba's next then you... followed by Tobi then Yamatto/Tenzou and after that who knows... Oh! And this story was orginally going to be called No More Clouds, but after I wrote it that title didn't really work so I changed it!

The Me That is Only For You: A Sakura/Shikamaru Pairing
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
He opened the door to see her tear streaked face, eyes red, her hands shaking.
"She-she was so young..." She said before he pulled her into his arms, as he had ever since that first time almost two years ago...

Stepping out of the cover of the trees, his eyes blinking to adjust to the change of light, he looked up to the hill he claimed his own. Atop it sat the lagest cherry blossom tree in Konoha, and the perfect vantage point for cloud watching. He made his way across the clearing, ready to relax after his day of training his new genin squad. The troublesome little brats were the smartest in their class, yet didn't act like it. Breifly he compared them to a few of his friends: Neji, Shino, and Sakura. But they were geneally good kids, so it wasn't too hard to get them to act like a team.
Lost in thought he didn't even see the pink-haired, huddled form of Sakura until she was a foot away. Stopping short he realized she was crying and staring down at her hands that were covered in dried blood.
"Sakura?" He asked, surprised. He hadn't seen her cry since they were chunin. Her head shot up in shock, her hands clenched closed. "Sakura, are you okay?" He asked, worried about his ex-teammate's best friend, his commrad. She sniffled and nodded in the positive.
"Y-yes... I-" she began before her tears began anew. "I-I lost a paient... He was only th-thirteen... a genin..." She looked down at her hands again. "He just slipped away..." Falling to his knees before her, not knowing what else to do, he gathered her in his arms. "I should be a hardened medic-nin... but he was so young... just beginning... Oh Shikamaru!" She sobbed into his chest and he just pulled her closer and let her cry it out.
Afterwards he used his long sleeves to wipe away the last of her tears as her head rested in his lap, asleep...
He remembered when she'd awoken she'd given him a beautiful, appologetic smile and walked away.
It was almost a month and half later when he found her again. She'd cried it out and rested her head on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Shikamaru, that this keeps happening," she said softly.
"Hey, we all release our emotions differently. Naruto? He destroys parts of the forest or laughs it off. You cry. Ino swears worse than Tsunade. But we all have to release it or we'd explode... or become anal like Neji," he said, making her laugh. "And while this is highly troublesome, it's okay if you want to come to me to release..." They were silent for a moment before she replied softly.
"Thank you, Shikamaru..."
It was a week later that she'd started the trend of knocking on his door in the middle of the night, needing to cry. Everytime he held her and listened to the stories she had to tell...
A friend in ANBU...
An old woman saying good by to her husbend after fifty years of marriage...
A toddler that had gotten ill...
And each time he lost his heart to her, as her pure soul made her care so much. He'd laughed with her the first time she came to him to annouce she'd delivered a baby, or saved a teammate.
And she listened when he complained about his missions and his squad. She laughed at his stories of old friends.
And after each meeting she would give him a little smile and leave...
And his apartment would feel so empty....
~*~
Looking down at her now he could no longer deny it: He was in the most troublesome of all emotions with her, he was in love.
Lifting her chin with a finger his lips met hers in a fierce declaration of his feelings for her. She gasped and pulled away slightly, her emerald eyes huge with surprise... Then she smiled softly before kissing his back enthusiasticlly.
"I love you," he blurted between kisses.
"Good, because I've been in love with you for months," she told him. He laughed at this. Gripping her waist he picked her up, twirled her around in a circle, laughing happily.
"I hope you know this is the me only for you...?" He asked, looking down into her bottomless green eyes.
"Yes, only here are we people, not tools to be used," she responded. He put her back down.
"Will you stay with me tonight? Forever?"
"Yes, and be horribly troublesome," she said smiling back up at him.
"Perfectly troublesome," he said before kissing her again and leading her back into his bedroom where he showed her how he released his emotion.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Years later he found himself sitting at his kitchen table, the newpaper before him, a coffee mug in his hand. He smiled as a pair of well used hands wrapped around his shoulders.
"Good morning, husbend," she whispered into his ear huskily. He grinned.
"Good morning, wife," he responded, tilting his head to the side to receive her morning kiss. Their lips moved perfectly together, but was interupted by the cries of their newest baby.
"Mom! I can't find my shirt! This is so troublesome..." Their five year old son called down. Sakura laughed.
"I'll get him, you get the baby," she told him, slipping away. He got up and walked to the nursery and picked up his baby girl.
"Why don't you tell daddy all about it?"

Neko: Okay! I'm going to say sorry now, my typing is rusty so there are going to be a lot of typos, please just point them out to me so that I can fix them. And yes, I know there is no lemon, I'm going to add that later when I'm in the mood, right now I just can't get it to work in my head... Anywho, please review! Gaara's still hungry after the last chapter...
-Gaara grins evilly, ready for his snack of non-reveiewers-
