Feedback is appreciated. I enjoy hearing from all of my readers. That you take the time to read is great, that you take the time to write is awesome. You are what makes writing worth while. I hope that you enjoy reading it and I look forward to your comments.
My sincere thanks to the following:
Trigger Happy Bitch: Yes, they are both stubborn. But eventually they will get their stuff together and open their eyes, at least we hope. It may take a while, though. Don’t let the wedding thoughts go out the window yet. Thanks for your continued support.
hisoka kurosaki: Not yet, anyway. Just give him a little time to brood on it though. The storm is coming. Thanks for your support.
Once more, thank you all so much.. Please keep reading, and please review. That’s the only way that I know you like it.

More Than Just a Kiss…
Part Six
Sasuke wandered around for a bit longer, then headed for the hospital. It was only natural for a student to go and see how his sensei was doing, and perhaps he could gleam some answers out of someone. Sakura was most likely around and she’d tell him whatever he wanted to know, he was certain of that. If nothing else, she was at least good for that.
He had gotten Kakashi-sensei’s room number from the front desk and quickly made his way down the quiet halls. He had just opened the door when he heard voices coming from within the room, so he waited a moment to see if he could identify who else was in the room before going in.
“Do you think Jiraiya will find Tsunade-sama soon?” asked a woman, who he identified as Yuhi Kurenai.
“We can only hope that his youthful vigor will allow him to complete his mission in a most timely fashion,” replied Maito Gai as he knelt by the sleeping Kakashi’s bedside.
“He should be able to. We’re going to have to have someone tough to deal with this new problem,” said Sarutobi Asuma, who stood at the foot of the bed with Kurenai. “He’s strong, that’s for sure.”
“He’s got to be if he can take out Kakashi,” replied Kurenai. “How long do you thing he will be out of commission?”
“Not long for someone in the springtime of his youth as Kakashi is,” replied Gai, confidently.
“Several weeks,” stated Asuma.
“How’d he even get in here?” Kurenai asked. “There are guards posted everywhere and ANBU out in force.”
“Well, he did grow up here,” replied Asuma.
At that, Sasuke’s ears picked up. Who could they be talking about? Had Orichimaru sneaked back into the village? Or… could it be? Was it? Itachi?
Sasuke walked slowly into the room, a puzzled look on his face. The three that were gathered around the sleeping Kakashi’s bed had just turned towards him, Kurenai ready with an explanation to hide the truth from him, when the worst possible thing happened. Ebisu burst into the room, brushing past the Uchiha as if he wasn’t there.
“I just heard about it,” Ebisu exclaimed. “They are saying that Itachi was here, he took out Kakashi and that he’s after Naruto. Are you sure he’s after Naruto and not Sasuke?”
Sasuke gasped at this revelation.
“Ebisu,” exclaimed Asuma. “You should watch where you say things like that!”
But the damage was done. White faced, Sasuke stalked the rest of the way into the room, facing the uncomfortable trio.
“Itachi was here?” he demanded. The trio exchanged looks as the boy glared at each of them in turn. “He was here, in our village, and he was looking for Naruto/i/>?”
Still, no one answered him.
“Tell me the truth! I have the right to know!” the Uchiha demanded.
“Yes,” Kurenai sighed, giving in to the inevitable. “He was here, but he’s long gone, now.”
“He’s after Naruto, and Naruto’s not here,” said Sasuke, his anger growing. “Where has he gone? Tell me! Where is Naruto right now?”
“He’s with Jiraiya. They went to look for Tsunade-sama. They could be in any one of several villages right now. We’re not sure where they are,” Asuma told him. “Last we heard though, they were heading for Shikuba town.”
“There’s not much we can do until… Sasuke! Get back here,” Kurenai exclaimed. “Sasuke!”
“Damn that boy,” swore Asuma. “Now we have another one gone from the village. What is he thinking? Does he want to die at Itachi’s hand that badly?”
But Kurenai had a different thought on the subject, although she was hesitant to voice her opinion. After all, what was between Naruto and Sasuke was only speculation based on one random comment from the Uchiha. Kurenai sighed and closed her eyes, hoping for the best from this horrible mess but anticipating the worst.
Gai, with vigor and confidence in the springtime of his youth, volunteered to go after Sasuke and try to reason with the boy and bring him back in one piece.

Sasuke made a quick stop at his compound to gather together what he needed and then he was gone.
He had to find Naruto before Itachi did. He had to get to Itachi before anyone else could. And he wasn’t sure which he want more. His thoughts were so scrambled on the matter that he simply pushed them to the back of his mind. He’d sort everything out once he found Naruto. Right now, he had to concentrate on finding his idiot boyfriend before his maniac brother got to him. No matter how strong the blonde had gotten, he was no match for Uchiha Itachi, that was certain.
Naruto, don’t do anything stupid, Sasuke thought. Please, wait for me. I’ll be there as soon as I can. Please don’t let Itachi get to you before I do. I don’t think I could bear that. Anything but losing you to that insane asshole.
These thoughts gave wings to the Uchiha’s feet as he rushed out into the unknown, alone and prepared for the worst.

After pushing himself as hard as he could, Sasuke finally arrived at Shikuba town. The place sprawled out before him and his heart skipped a beat. They could be anywhere.
Well, guest houses first, he thought and started to question the desk clerks at each and every one. He finally had one clerk tell him that, yes, they did have a blonde boy about his age and an old man with white hair staying on the upper floor. Sasuke wanted to fall to the floor in relief. Finally!
But when the boy answered the door to Sasuke’s incessant pounding, his heart dropped to his feet. It wasn’t them.

Naruto, meanwhile, was sitting alone in his room just a couple of buildings down, practicing concentrating his chakra in hopes of mastering the rasengan technique, and feeling just a bit frustrated at the moment.
Ero-sennin kept going off ogling girls, saying that he was gathering information, and Naruto somehow felt as if he really wasn’t getting the training he had been promised. He should have know better after the last trip with Ero-sennin, although he had been shown a cool summoning jutsu. But still, most of the time he could only summon small frogs, not Gamabunta, the master frog that was so impressive. That was frustrating, as well.
But Ero-sennin had managed to pique his interest in the Rasengan thing by telling him it was a technique that the Fourth had developed and perfected. So, maybe if he worked hard…
But he kept losing concentration. Sasuke’s face kept popping into his mind, and then he’d start thinking about how mad Sasuke was going to be at him, and what he was going to do to try to make up with him.
A pissed off Sasuke was something akin to a wet cat. An angry creature with claws and teeth that you didn’t want to get near, and very unforgiving.
Gods, can that cat, err, Sasuke hold a grudge, thought Naruto. Kisses most likely will get me a black eye. What else can I offer? Ramen won’t do and I really don’t have anything else. Why does he have to be so damned prickly? Definitely like a cat. Too bad he’s not sweet and cuddly, like a kitten… Better not ever tell him about that thought! That will get me punched for sure. Ah, Sasuke! What am I going to do with you?
Naruto sighed and pulled his mind back from it’s errant wandering and started to concentrate on his chakra again, only to be distracted by someone pounding on the door.
Grumbling, Naruto walked to the door and pulled it open, then stood there staring stupidly. Sasuke! No, not the Sasuke he knew, but a much older Sasuke. Then his brain clicked into gear. Not Sasuke at all.
Itachi!
