Friend or Foe?
Friend or Foe???
Sakura and Sasuke stared at each other for a few minutes until Sasuke turned his deadly sharingan on. However Sakura still stared right into his eyes grinning.
Sasuke was shocked. How could she not be affected by my sharingan?
“What’s the matter Sasuke? Scared that your sharingan doesn’t work on me? I don’t blame you, without your sharingan, you’re weak and useless!” Sakura said, Sasuke’s eyes narrowed, but he still kept his sharingan on.
“How comes you’re not affected by my sharingan?” he said quietly, but Sakura heard.
“No sort of genjutsu will work on me, no matter how powerful it is, I’m a genjutsu type, always have been.” She answered simply.
Of course! No genjutsu has ever affected Sakura! I guess the sharingan genjutsu couldn’t do anything to her but with the sharingan he could still read her movements…he still had an advantage.
“Let us begin…” he said, his red eyes glaring at her. Sakura’s fists clenched she didn’t really want to hurt Sasuke so she wouldn’t use all of her strength but she would fight hard enough to beat him.
“Let’s go…..ladies first,” Sakura said, smirking, Kisame, Deidara and Tobi roared with laughter, and Sasuke smiled.
“Are you trying to call yourself a man?” he asked, Sakura’s eyes narrowed.
“Just come at me already.” She said bitterly. Suddenly Sasuke disappeared from her eyes, but thanks to hours of practise with Kisame and days of practise in Konoha, she could see him at that speed, so she quickly moved before he could hit her and landed on a tree.
Sasuke turned around to see her on the tree and was astonished to see that she could match his speed.
“Surprised, Sasuke?” Sakura said, smirking at his face.
“Well, I must say you have improved Sakura,” he said quietly, he turned to see if Karin was alright, he didn’t know why because frankly he didn’t care about her, she was nothing compared to Sakura’s abilities now, he saw Suigetsu and Juugo by her side so she was alright. He turned back to face Sakura and saw she wasn’t there, before he could look around a sleek black katana that had been provided with the jounin uniform had been pressed against his throat.
“I guess you lose, Sasuke……kun.” Sakura teased, Sasuke smirked and disappeared and was replaced by a log.
“Dammit! The replacement jutsu, I should’ve known he would use that,” Sakura murmured to herself, suddenly a sword was pressed against HER neck.
“Yes…you should have known,” he whispered in her ear, Sakura smiled and then started to laugh, her laugh died away as there was a puff of smoke and Sakura disappeared from Sasuke.
What?! When did she learn the shadow clone jutsu?” Sasuke thought,
“A little something I learnt from Naruto, I’ll thank him if I ever see him again,” Sakura said, she was back at where she had started the fight.
“Hn, I guess Naruto is the only dobe that would use a technique like that,” Sasuke said,
“That technique is very useful……teme,” Sakura said, Sasuke’s eyes widened at his old nickname that was given to him by his best friend, Naruto.
“This fight is pretty even matched,” Kisame whispered to Deidara, Tobi was watching with awe.
“Wow!!! Sakura-san is really good! There’s no way Sasuke-sama can beat her” he said in his loud voice, Sakura smiled.
“Thank you Tobi!” she said back, Sasuke stared at Tobi, did he just call him Sasuke-sama?
“What’s wrong? Not used to being respected?” Sakura asked, Sasuke did not say anything. He was shocked. Why would his enemy respect him so much?
“Don’t hurt yourself over it, Tobi respects everyone,” Sakura said, “But you were obviously going to get respected since you are Itachi’s brother whether you like it or not.”
“I'm not his brother anymore, I broke all my ties with him,” sasuke said,
“For what?! Because he killed your clan! You don’t even know the real reason why_” Sakura stopped talking, she could tell Sasuke; it wasn’t in her place to tell Sasuke the truth.
“Real reason? What real reason?! The real reason is because he wanted to test his abilities and see if he could kill the clan! And he succeeded,” Sasuke yelled,
“You don’t understand……you don’t Itachi……” Sakura said softly, unwanted tears filled her eyes and silently rolled down her cheeks as she thought about the night Itachi told her the truth, about how he wanted Sasuke to avenge the clan and kill him. Sasuke was beyond shocked, what did she know about Itachi that he didn’t? He looked at the tears falling down her cheeks, he dropped his sword onto the ground and walked towards her as she dropped onto the ground and sobbed loudly.
He hesitantly put a hand on her shoulder,
“I forfeit the match……you win, just please stop crying,” Sasuke said,
Sakura jerked her head up and stared at Sasuke, he gave a small smile,
“What are you crying about? What did Itachi tell you?” Sasuke asked innocently, before she could answer, a shadow came and grabbed Sakura from where she was sitting away from Sasuke.
“Don’t touch her….”
