Kushina and the young buck Shikamaru were stopped surprisingly at the border of Tsunade's lands, by Tsunade herself. The elderly vixen rarely left her den anymore, but she looked very worried about something, "By the look on your face, Kushina, I gather that you sensed it also. I actually could almost hear his cries. Naruto is in great danger, but he is still alive. You must know that." Kushina fought the agonizing screams that were trying to tear out of her. She nodded silently letting a few bitter tears escape her face.
Shikamaru stamped his foot nervously scenting the air. He may not be a wolf or a fox, but he could clearly smell the male pheromones, ones he recognized as a mating mark, or a territory marking. He could not be entirely certain the smells had faded, but there were signs of a struggle in the little clearing, "Tsunade, do you realize that the scent of mating is all over the ground here, and in the underbrush I am pretty sure that there were two males, both were strong and fought over the todd."
"I have to agree and that's the worst possible scenario, if one of those wolves viewed Naruto as a mate to be claimed it will be much harder to retrieve him, if not impossible. If the wolf truly felt the attachment of a mate he would be much more fearsome and protective of what he views as his. He will kill or die for the kit." She felt choked up, the fox was barely out of adolescence and she was fairly certain one or more wolves has had their way with him by now, "Wolves like we foxes take a mate for life only death of the wolf that has claimed him will bring Naruto back, and that is not a sure thing. If is on the other hand just lust, they would violate him then possible kill him if they grew bored of him." Kushina whined bitterly, "Is there nothing we can do?"
"Give me some time to think and some peace and quiet I'll come up with something," The buck snorted before making his way into the safety of Tsunade's realm. Kushina followed and Tsunade brought up the rear. Shikamaru bedded down in some soft grass and seemed to dose off but upon closer inspection one could see he was deep in thought.

Sasuke cuddled his precious young mate. Naruto had finally resigned himself to his fate, at least he would live another day and the wolf…erm…Sasuke seemed intent on caring for him. Naruto snuggled down in the wolf's lush black fur. Sasuke whined in pleasure. In his view his little beauty was finally taking to him.
