Hidden Love

Gai nodded and ran back out into the gym. "Class is over everyone out and into the lunch room till your next class." He ordered and everyone gave confused looks before shrugging and leaving the gym. "Eh? Where's redhead? His backpack isn't there maybe he ditched." Naruto said to himself then fallowed after Riku picking to do his daily annoying. Gaara couldn't help but blush as he was picked up but grit his teeth in pain from his arm, he had sprained it before but never broken. 'T-This is so embarrassing I am crying in front of him again..' He thought and shut his eyes tightly.

Lee moved out into the gym and glanced around making sure everyone was gone before coming out still carrying Gaara carefully not wanting to hurt the other boy anymore. "I am so sorry Gaara.." He kept murmuring under his breath feeling like it was all his fault as he rushed over to his dad waiting for him to lead them to his car.

Gaara kept his eyes closed tightly trying hard not to focus on the pain his body was feeling. "Hold him carefully Lee." Gai said and opened the car door for them then gave a worried look for the redhead. 'I remember when those two used to play together..how did it turn to this?' He thought. "Gaara is your dad home?" He asked and Gaara shook his head. "Out...of town.." Was the small reply.

Lee got in the car still carefully holding Gaara. "D-Dad just please hurry up to the hospital.." He said and kept looking down at Gaara obviously highly concerned for his old friend.

Gai shut the door then got in the car and turn it on, he then started the drive to the hospital. Gaara started blushing again and tilted his head back so he could look up at Lee. "Y-You don't have to hold me..I-I'm not that badly hurt.." He whispered so only Lee could hear.

"Yes I do.. I am worried about you.. it is my fault you were hurt.. I.. I promise that I would be your best friend forever and I have let you get hurt to many times.. I am not taking any more chances.." Lee said and still held the redhead keeping his arm up.

Gaara's eyes widened and he tried to sit up more but hissed in pain from his arm. "I-It's not your fault..I d-didn't want you to get hurt so I moved my arm in the w-way...it was my choice you didn't do anything Lee-kun.." He said then gasped and covered his mouth blushing darker. 'Did I really just call him Lee-kun?? GAH I am starting to act like my old self what the hell is wrong with me?' He thought and looked away from the older male scared of his reaction.

Lee blinked then tried to clear up the fear tears and grinned. "No it is my fault Gaara-kun.. and I plan to fix it.." He said then relaxed a little when they got to the hospital and his dad opened the door for him. The older boy scrambled out still holding Gaara and rushed in.

Gai quickly fallowed and rushed up to the front desk. "We have a injured boy here we think his arm is broken!" He said loudly making a few people glance over at them. Gaara felt confused and embarrassed, he was confused since Lee was crying and embarrassed that he was still being carried. Did breaking your arm really need this much craziness? The pain was starting to get to him again and he grit his teeth and awkwardly laid his head on Lee's shoulder. "T-This r-really hurts.." He mumbled.

"I know we will get it fixed.." Lee whispered to the boy and cradled him in his arms gently. After awhile of waiting a nurse came out and smiled at them. "Right this way Gaara, we will give you some pain medication for that right away ok?" She said sweetly and Lee started following the girl.

Gaara blushed darker when a girl giggled as Lee walked past her and closed his eyes again trying to block out everything. Gai set his hand on Lee's shoulder seeing how upset he was and gave a small smile. "Don't worry Gaara we are gonna get you all fixed up! Is there anyone I can call? Maybe your siblings?" Gai asked and Gaara shook his head. "I c-can't bother them they are both on a trip..they won't be back for two m-more days.." Gaara replied starting to feel safe in his old best friends arms.

Lee smiled at his father. "I know.." He said to him. Then Lee sat Gaara down on a chair as gently as he could. A nurse came in and checked all of his vitals and then examined his arm for a moment before leaving. A doctor came in and took Gaara out getting an x-ray taken and now everyone was in a small room waiting for the doctor to get the x-rays back.

Gaara glared at the ceiling as he laid back on the hospital bed. "I hate this place.." He muttered and pulled off his hat and carefully slid it under his arm which was resting on a pillow, his hat was softer then the pillows they gave him. "So your home alone?" Gai asked and Gaara shook his head again. "There are maids and such...but I don't want to trouble them with another injury.." He muttered and Gai tilted his head a little. "Well then you can stay with us! Then when your siblings get back you can go home!" Gai said loudly grinning and Gaara's jaw dropped.

Lee looked at his father his mouth agape then coughed. "U-Um.. Dad me and Gaara aren't really.." Lee trailed off and glanced to Gaara and felt his heart urge out, he wanted to be friends with Gaara again, and he really did. "Yeah you can stay with us so you are not alone at night.." He said to Gaara with a smile.

"Wha? eh?? Are you sure on that..what would your girlfriend think that the gaywad is staying at your house?" Gaara muttered and Gai raised a eye brow then reached over picking up a book from a table and started reading not reacting at all that Gaara admitted he was gay.

"Personally... I really dislike Sakura-Chan when she bashes on you because of that.. I dislike all my friends when they say that.. It actually hurts me... the fact they pick on you just because you happen to love guys.. love is love.." Lee admitted to Gaara then quickly stopped his speech when a doctor came in and set the x-ray for them to see. "Yeah you bashed it up pretty good, It is broken in a few places but with a cast on it your body should get rid of those and naturally heal your bone. A nurse will be in a little bit to give you a cast. I am going to give you a prescription of pain medication. Take one every five hours as needed ok?" The doctor said then patted Gaara on the shoulder, "You will be ok," He said with a large smile then left the room.

Gai couldn't help but smile from what his son said then finely spoke after the doctor left. "Do you want to stay home tomorrow?" He asked and Gaara frowned. "I can't let this bring me down I need to practice for the play." He replied and tried hard not to stare at Lee. 'He...really gets upset when they say stuff like that?..Well it's good to know he is not freaked out I like guys.' He thought and shut his eyes.

Lee heard a familiar yelling in the room next door when a nurse came in but ignored it, 'He could not possibly be here...' The nurse walked over and smiled. "I need you to sit up straight and not move ok?" She said sweetly to Gaara.

Gaara gave a small sigh and nodded sitting up slowly and biting hard into his lip when he moved his arm. "Ugh..." He set his good hand on the side of the hospital bed and gripped onto it. Gai frowned a little not liking to see anyone in pain and got to pick up the paper that had what pain pills they needed to get for Gaara.

The nurse started to gently cover his arm with the bandages then the wet plaster. When she was done with the cast she let it dry all the while leaned in close to Gaara. "You know it is a shame to see such a cutie in pain.." She muttered so only Gaara could hear. Lee noticed she was close though and coughed not liking it. "So Gaara-kun have those pain pills kicked in yet?"

Gaara blinked in surprise and leant back a little. "Yeah a little.. its not to where I can't bear it." He replied and looked at the floor getting confused on to why he was being hit on. Gai walked over to his son and patted him on the back then raised a eye brow at the nurse.

The nurse looked slightly embarrassed unsure of if she had been heard and stood up. "Um you can go now.." She said in a shy tone and left the room. Lee smiled and gently picked Gaara up again out of reaction.

The redhead squeaked in surprise and blushed a dark red. "L-Lee? W-What are you doing?" He asked his voice going a little higher than normal. Gai chuckled and walked over to the door. "Come on! This place is not very youthful we will go home!" He said grinning and walked out into the hall to go to the front desk, he and Lee had already been there enough times to know their ways around.

"Carrying you.." Lee stated simply and carried the redhead out of the hospital and to the car before setting him in it and buckling him up. Lee smiled and gently hugged Gaara before getting in the other side of the car. "I am happy we are becoming friends again.." He told the redhead.

Gaara blushed darker at this and got confused on to why his heart had started to beat faster from the hug. "U-Um me to...your really ok with me staying at your house?" He asked and then fell silent when Gai got in the car and started it up driving out of the parking lot, making his way to their house.

"Of course Gaara-kun.." Lee said and then leaned back against the seat, letting out a small sigh his worry drifting away. "I was concerned you were actually really hurt there for awhile.." He said under his breath to Gaara so his father could not hear.

"What do you mean actually hurt?" Gaara asked pointing to his arm getting confused. 'This is weird...Lee is being so kind to me...I don't know if I can handle this if it's all a trick...' He thought and stared down at the cast on his arm then dug into his pocket pulling out a sharpie and flicked it so it landed in Lee's lap.

"Well sometimes when you get a broken bone it can be a snap right across and sever the veins and your arm dies.." Lee pointed out and picked up the sharpie grinning and leaned over starting to doddle a picture of him and Gaara holding hands as kids and him yelling yosh in chibi form.

Gaara watched him then his eyes widened a little. "Lee? What are you doing?...Your really confusing me...you are suddenly acting so different." He said and felt even more confused than before. "Alright we are home!!" Gai said and turned off the car and Gaara blinked and looked out the window, he sweat dropped a little realizing he hadn't even noticed the car stopped.

Lee got out of the car and moved over opening the door for Gaara. "Let us just say I looked back on how I was and had a realization..." The older boy then let out a small sigh glancing over at Gaara's home. 'He was really staying there by himself with just his butlers and maids..? How could I not have wandered over and asked if he needed company.. ugh.. I cannot believe how much being with Sakura has had me push him away..' He thought to himself but then just shook his head. "I will take you over to your house to get some clothes and things in a little bit ok?" Lee said softly to Gaara.

Gaara gave a small nod and got out of the car holding his hurt arm to his chest. "How you were..." He whispered and remembered how hyper the older male used to be and how extremely blunt, always saying what was on his mind. The redhead sweat dropped a little watching Gai try and straighten a pink flamingo that was sitting on the lawn. "Your dad is still very odd." He said to Lee playfully.

Lee glanced back at his father then laughed and grinned. "But he is still my awesome Dad.." Then the older male walked over and opened the door to his house. "Yosh! Let us get you set up in my room!" He said happily not even thinking about the fact Gaara was openly gay and he was suggesting that he stay in his room. To him it was normal and Gaara was the way he was, he was not going to think twice about letting the smaller boy sleep in his room.

"Eh? Lee you sure on that? I could sleep in the living room." Gaara said walking in and blinking looking around the house, he felt like he had been thrown back into the past. 'I wonder..' He thought and went up the stairs and to the door at the end of the hall. "This is still your room right?" He asked setting his hand on the wood.

"Gaara-kun anytime you came over I would allow you to sleep in my room!" Lee said with a wide grin and grabbed a familiar sleeping bag he always used when Gaara was over and grabbed a second one for himself before walking upstairs following Gaara. "Yup of course it is," Lee stated happily.

Gaara opened the door and stepped into the room, the first thing he noticed that Lee's walls were still green but were now covered in posters of different animals and Animes. He carefully stepped over a scooter and froze when something brown caught his eye, he walked over to a shelf and picked up a small teddy bear that was sitting on it. Gaara blinked remembering how the bear had got there and he could see it in his mind. "P-Please don't cry Lee-kun...I know your mommy loved you very much.." A smaller version of himself had said kneeling next to a sobbing six year old Lee. "Here...my bear can keep you company.." Gaara said holding the stuff animal out to his friend. Lee had given a small smile and taken the bear hugging it to his chest. "Thank you Gaara-kun.." He had replied and Gaara had smiled back shyly. Gaara shook his head clearing his thoughts and set the bear that was missing a eye back down. "Didn't your cat eat it's eye?" He said tilting his head looking at the stuffed toy. "She still around?" He asked looking around the room.

"Yeah she did eat the eye..." Lee said smiling at his childhood memory that he refused to get rid of no matter what. Then he started to set out both of the sleeping bags on the floor since Lee refused to let Gaara sleep on the floor while he slept in the bed. "Cailey is downstairs I think," He told Gaara before moving over careful not to trip in his now messy room that made him slightly embarrassed so he started to pick up a little.

Gaara slipped off his shoes then sat down on the sleeping bag. "Lee we are not kids you can sleep in your bed." He said and looked up at the ceiling at the model airplanes that were hanging there. "This is a bit annoying to ask but could you go get her...I kinda want to see her, she was just a kitten when you first got her I want to see how big she is." He said and lay back feeling weird being back in Lee's house after so many years.

"How is it annoying? I will happily go get her and be youthful about it! And no! I will not allow my friend to sleep on the floor by himself and be uncomfortable; I will put myself through that too!" Lee yelled with a thumbs up and one of his silly grins that he used to do when he was a kid. The more time he spent with Gaara the more he started to act like his normal self and felt great about doing so. Then the older boy dashed out of the room at full speed to go find his cat.

The redhead blinked in surprise and laughed when Lee ran out of the room. 'It's good to see him acting like that...I thought the old Lee was gone forever..' He thought and shut his eyes resting his arms nest to his head. 'I really missed him...I should have tried to talk to him but I was just so mad he started to ignore me that I said nothing...we are both to blame for this.' He sighed and then blushed a little. 'What was I going to do before that poll fell when we were in the closet?' He thought not noticing Lee had come back.

Lee grinned holding Cailey and setting her on Gaara's chest. The cat meowed and stared at him with a pissed off look from being ran all the way up the stairs but then she mewled and relaxed on Gaara instantly getting used to him. "Good to see she still likes you. She really hates Sakura-Chan," Lee pointed out and sat down on the sleeping bag that was his.

Gaara lifted his head and opened his eyes staring back into the green eyes of the cat and smiled. "She got so big.." He said and pushed his hood down then set his hand on top of Cailey's head and pet her gently. "You sure got pretty...She doesn't like Sakura? Cats can sense things about people you know.." He muttered and then laid his head back down.

Lee blushed a little bit looking at Gaara and he looked away. 'He really has gotten sooo hot..' His inner self thought and he immediately yelled at himself, 'Oh my god not youthful!!! No no no do not think that about your best friend.. wait.. best..friend..?' Lee questioned himself glancing back at Gaara and he coughed. "No um.. actually she really dislikes her she clawed her in the cheek when she came over.." Lee told Gaara and reached out to gently pet his cat who was now lightly purring.

The redhead snuggled the cat and let out a long sigh. "Why do you date her? She doesn't treat you right at all." He said and rubbed Cailey's cheek. "I would love to draw her...her fur is such a pretty color." He said running his fingers through the soft fur and laughed a little as her little bob tail wagged back and forth.

Lee really, really wanted to avoid that subject. It was something he disliked talking about with Gaara. But he had to, it was what Gaara obviously wanted to know. "I... I do not know... she is just really popular and I guess I figured more people would like me..." Lee then lowered his head muttering out something before looking up forcing a smile. "U-Uh... you can draw her, I will hold her for you. Umm I think I have an old sketch book from when I took that art class with you when we were little, would that be ok to use?"

"I left my backpack in your car..." Gaara muttered and closed his eyes when the cat scooted up on his chest to lay more on his neck. "She is trying to choke me." He said laughing a little and playfully grabbed the cats little bob tail. "...Oh boy Riku is going to freak on you.." He said remembering he had to call his boyfriend and dug in his pocket for his phone.

Lee sweat dropped a little, "Uh.. about that.. can we not tell him that I am the reason you broke your arm..? I would rather avoid a fight with him..." Lee then smirked a little, "Well I mean, I do not want to kick his butt in front of you.." Then he started to laugh and got up. "Alright you call your boyfriend I will go get your stuff for you ok?"

Gaara smirked slightly and entered in Riku's number. "Oh haha very funny, I sadly don't think you could beat him. He fights dirty." The redhead said then held the phone to his ear and sighed at how long it took him to answer. "Riku come on.." He mumbled getting a little annoyed.

Lee left the room and went down stairs to go retrieve Gaara's backpack while Riku picked up his phone obviously more than upset. *"What the hell happened to you? You were not at lunch! I was so worried... where are you now..?"* He asked in a frantic, the sound of a cigarette being inhaled deeply on the other side of the phone. Riku always had the tendency to smoke a lot more when he was worried or upset.

"I uh...kinda..broke my arm and Lee took me to the hospital." Gaara replied and winced a little feeling the pain pills were starting to wear off a little and he carefully laid his hurt arm down on his stomach. "Can you tell Naruto for me so he doesn't call my house 100 times?" He asked blinking when Cailey nuzzled her head on his cheek.

*"Lee's house? No no no! That is it I am coming to get you stay right there! . . . wait.. where does Lee live..?"* Riku asked and another long sigh was heard on the other side of the phone. Lee came up the stairs carrying Gaara's backpack and blinked seeing he was still on the phone. 'It is odd... he questions me about why I am dating Sakura yet.. he dates Riku and he is ten times worse than her..'

"Riku no I am staying here..I will see you tomorrow ok? Just talk to Naruto please." Gaara replied and gently moved Cailey onto his lap so he could sit up. "I can't talk long I'm tired.." He muttered wanting to get off the phone.

*"Mais..Gaara... Je t'aime.."* (note: But..Gaara... I love you..) Riku muttered out knowing he was defeated. *"Bonne nuit..."* (Note: Good night...) The male then told his lover, voice obviously hurt over the phone. Yes even though Riku was the pitcher in the relationship he was still clingy as hell to Gaara. It took him forever to get the redhead to actually take him as his boyfriend. Lee sat down and started pulling out Gaara's things, going back to his normal self which was more then used to going through Gaara's artwork always praising him for it.

Gaara rubbed Cailey's chin and looked down at her pretty eyes. "Yeah...love you to.." He said frowning as he spoke then glanced up at Lee and blushed realizing he was looking near the page he had drew him. "H-Hey Lee no!" He yelled and accidentally dropped his phone it making the batteries fall out so the phone turned off. "Oh shit.." He muttered then tried to grab his art book from Lee.

Lee blinked and leaned back a little. "Am I not allowed to look at your artwork anymore..?" He asked with a small frown since he had now realized that was why Gaara had dove over his stuff before. Riku on the other hand started cursing everything he could think of in French then yelled at Naruto about Gaara and to leave him alone before running off from the blond getting more annoyed.

Gaara blushed darker and tried to grab the book again but ended up leaning over Lee a little in doing so. "T-There are awkward things in there from uh...life drawing class." He said and tried to ignore how much his arm was hurting him again.

"So? I like looking at all of your art work.. and I have a lot of catching up to do..." Lee said and he blushed a little scooting away from Gaara awkwardly trying to continue looking through the book.

"B-But! But...uh..they a-are reeeally awkward! You do know in live drawing class we have to draw people with no clothes on right?" Gaara said freaking out a little. 'Oh my god...what is he going to think if he see's the drawings I did of him?..W-Would if he gets mad?' He thought and tried again to grab the book leaning into Lee again.

Lee blinked and smiled reaching his hand up. He didn't think and gently placed his hand on Gaara's chest pushing him back a little bit so he could continue looking through the book without having his friend complaining about it. "I do not care, it is just the human body," Lee stated simply.
