A Love Test: Part 2
Hinata dodged out of the way, only to be grabbed by all nine of Kyuubi’s tails and consticted by them. She screamed in pain as it felt Naruto meant to kill her this time around as Kyuubi sent all of his chakra flowing through her body.
”HINATA!” Neji yelled.
Naruto maintained his great balance atop of Kyuubi’s head, completely conscious and in control of what he was doing. If he couldn’t beat her into submission, he’d force her into submission another way. Hinata was barely hanging onto consciousness due to the attack, but when it finally ceased, it looked as if one more would do it. The chakra incarnation of Kyuubi looked at Naruto for guidance. With his eyes narrowed and a smirk across his lips, he extended his thumb, turning it downwards. Translation: Finish her! Hinata whimpered a little. She knew she was in her final moment of the battle, but one lesson she took from her father; If she fell, she’d make sure she’d take the one who made her fall with her! It would probably kill the rest of her chakra, but dammit, she wasn’t going down alone. It was all or nothing! Tsunade watched in pure amazement as Hinata closed her eyes. The ground instantly began shaking. This startled Naruto, which in turn, startled the chakra-incarnate of Kyuubi. Taking advantage of the loosening of it’s tails around her, she grabbed the pendant around her neck.
“I WILL NOT BE TAKEN DOWN SO EASILY!” she yelled.
She grabbed it and instantly, Naruto started groaning in pain, the Kyuubi chakra-incarnate obviously feeling it. It opened it’s fanged mouth and yelled. A smirk crossed both Tsunade and Jiraiya’s lips. Naruto did his best to maintain the power of Kyuubi, but he wasn’t sure what was screwing with him now. Obviously Hinata, but HOW? Naruto all but roared in tandem with Kyuubi as it felt like another chakra was forcing itself into his very chakra core, including the one that allowed him to house Kyuubi’s power as well. Hinata broke free of Kyuubi’s frenzied grip, landing on the ground.
”NOW! BYAKKO!”
Naruto roared in pain as the orange chakra excluding from his body began to turn white and surrounding Kyuubi. The incarnation of Kyuubi exploded, sending Naruto flying backwards. When he regained composure, he saw he was staring down at a chakra-incarnation of Byakko. Naruto wasn’t afraid to take on this beast, but everytime he tried to summon Kyuubi’s chakra, Byakko became stronger! Now, the only thing standing in between him and victory was this damn tiger.
But Hinata wasn’t done yet. She was far from it. She stomped her foot in the middle of all the mayhem and a large spout of water erupted from the ground beneath Naruto, sending him flying into the air.
”PROTECTION OF THE TRIGRAMS….TEN-THOUSAND PALMS!”
Byakko’s chakra-charged body instantly turned into countless streams of chakra, heading straight for Naruto’s airborne body. The streams of chakra erupted from the ground and she repeated her attack until Naruto’s body was under siege from these painful blows of chakra.
“Forgive me…Naruto-Kun…!” Hinata whispered.
She clapped her hands together, infusing the streams of chakra with the power of the Gentle Fist. Pretty soon, every stream of chakra that hit him was causing some form of major internal damage. This continued on for almost two minutes before Hinata cancelled out the entire thing. Naruto’s body now lay, broken, beaten and bleeding. Hinata staggered backwards. She had used way too much chakra and she knew it, plus, she hadn’t been able to recover from the wounds inflicted on her previously. When she saw Naruto stagger to his feet, there was a deathly silence that fell over the arena. Tsunade and everyone watching, knew that the next attack was going to be the last one. Naruto showed no sign of Kyuubi being in control, nor did Hinata show any signs of Byakko. Weakly, forming a last-resort attack, Naruto formed a Rasengan in his hand. Hinata prepated herself with a final Gentle Fist attack. At the same time, they ran charging at one another, yelling the entire way. When their bodies collided, all anyone could see was the energy from the Gentle Fist blaze through Naruto’s stomach and out of his back, while the Rasengan could be clearly seen exiting out of Hinata’s own back as it was forced into her stomach. Both Kages had reached their limit, falling to their knees at the same time, but neither ready to concede defeat.
“THAT IS ENOUGH!” Tsunade yelled.
Everyone cheered and let out great sighs of relief. The cheering could be heard all over Konoha and Yuki, everyone feeling completely exhilarated by this two-and-a-half-hour battle.. Most Kage battles usually only lasted a half an hour, but no less. It was all Sasuke could do from keeping Hikaru from jumping down into the arena after Sakura who hurried to both Kages. She ushered in some of her best medical nin to examine them and proclaim a winner. The air for the next fifteen minutes was so intense, a simple cough made people jump. Sakura closely examined Hinata first; she had, more or less, overused her chakra, received a major chakra blast from Naruto’s Kyuubi chakra, and limitless damage that she was sure would have killed anyone else. Sakura was grateful for Byakko’s presence inside of Hinata. Hinata was loaded onto a stretcher, but not carried out yet. She examined Naruto; massive internal bleeding and chakra blockage, nevermind the fact that he’d taken the worst of Hinata’s greatest attacks all at once. What amazed Sakura was that when it was all said and done and they should have died during battle from the depth of wounds they had, at the end of the battle, when it was all said and done, they were ready to keep going. Thank God for both Kyuubi and Tsunade. Naruto was stripped of his jacket and it was placed atop of him. Sakura walked over to Tsunade and whispered the results. Tsunade could only chuckle.
“EVERYONE, WE HAVE THE RESULTS! BEAR IN MIND: NARUTO UZUMAKI AND HINATA HYUUGA-UZUMAKI SHOULD HAVE DIED FROM THIS BATTLE, YET, HERE THEY WERE READY TO KEEP GOING! WE HAVE SEEN NOTHING SHORT OF A MIRACLE BATTLE AND PROBABLY THE GREATEST EVEN, IN THE HISTORY OF KAGE BATTLES. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE RESULTS ARE…”
Tsunade walked over in between Hinata and Naruto who were laid out in stretchers. Both were barely conscious, but waited for the results before they let unconsciousness claim them. Over the head of Naruto Uzumaki she raised her hand,
“YOUR HOKAGE, UZUMAKI NARUTO!”
Everyone stood up, cheering uproariously. It was a celebration even heard in Yukigakure, who were cheering just as loudly. Everyone stood up, giving standing ovations to BOTH Kages. Hinata turned her head to look at Naruto, tears of joy happily flowing down her face. Naruto had finally done it; he had finally proven to all of Konoha he really WAS worthy and worthy enough to be Hokage. After all he had worked for…The thought almost brought tears to his eyes. He wiped them away quickly, only raising his arm and flashing the victory sign with his two fingers. Everyone cheered; this was the celebration heard around the world. All of their friends ran down from the stands to congratulate both Naruto and Hinata. Hikaru rushed to his parents, hugging both of them with proud tears.
”I’m so proud of both of you!”
Naruto winced, moving off of his stretcher and closer to Hinata as he helped her sit up. The child hugged both of his parents, tears cascading down his face. Naruto looked at Hinata who could only blush and smile at him.
“I’m so happy for you, Naruto-Kun…”
Everyone continued cheering. Despite his wounds and Sakura’s protests, he helped Hinata stand and picked his child up in victory. Everyone in Konoha and Yukigakure stood up, giving them a standing ovation, clapping, cheering, and some even crying. Hinata couldn’t stop her tears, embracing both her husband and child. Confetti surrounded them and it was as if they had both won. Hinata looked at Naruto who looked at her. He set his son down and looked at Hinata who was blushing. He wouldn’t, she thought. Not in front of all these people with major mega-screens in every major city! He put his hand to her cheek, and Hinata melted. She wrapped her arms around his neck and happily accepted her husband’s sweet kiss. Everyone just cheered even louder and louder. When they broke the kiss, Naruto hoisted his son into the air, holding him and Hinata at the same time. This was their crowning moment. The most unlikely family in the history of shinobi and kunoichi had capture the hearts of millions, in every city, in every nation. There wasn’t a soul who wasn’t proud of Naruto and Hinata…

(A/N: I have no idea why, but at the time the winner of the battle was announced, I was listening to the ‘I’m The World’s Greatest’ by R. Kelly and it made me seriously cry, just to think of someone relishing in modest pride and just being happy that after struggling so much, they proved to everyone they were really worth something. Then, during the ovation and everything, ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ came on and I just started bawling, all the while typing the happy family moment with this big grin on my face. Me being the emotional mess I am, all I could think was, “You finally did it, Naruto! Congrats!” I am SO happy! Of course, well ALL know the peace won’t be lasting long, kukukuku…)
