Sasuke found Koroshi by a river, eating a meal with her sons. They were still injured, but they were awake, at least. He came over to them, and Koroshi made no move to get up, or even acknowledge him. “You knew the truth about Itachi, didn’t you? You knew that he was ordered to kill our entire clan, and you never said anything!” Sasuke accused, pulling out his sword. Koroshi finally looked at him, and stood from where she was sitting. “I did. I knew the truth, and I wanted to tell you many times. But would you have really believed me? You would have put it off as a lover’s plea for you to spare him, wouldn’t you?” Sasuke sputtered, flustered, but he knew that she was right. He would have. “Exactly, Sasuke. You wouldn’t have believed me; even had I told you the truth about your brother. You never would have believed me. And your brother begged me not to tell you, he made me promise him.”
