Chapter 7: Gaara
Chapter Seven: Gaara
After a long trip all five shinobi arrived at the Village Hidden in the Sand. When they arrived in the village they were greeted by Temari. “Well Temari you are looking very good for yourself” said Sakura.
“Thank you Sakura let me direct you to our Kazekage he has been expecting you. Oh and before I forget how is Shikamaru doing, I haven’t seen him in a while?”
“Shikamaru is doing fine and he can’t stop thinking about you. He told me before we left that after the kids in the academy graduate he was going to come her to see you Temari”.
“Good at least he still thinks about me…This way to the Kazekage” said Temari as she gestured inside of the building.
“Ah good you received my message about Kyuubi. Currently the fox is outside of the village to the north. He hasn’t moved in a few days, but I believe that it won’t be long before he does move. I felt it safe to just leave him alone only because I believe that somewhere inside that fox Naruto still exists. Temari will escort you to where you will stay for the night and tomorrow I will personally escort you to where Kyuubi is. Well now that is settled I have work to do before we leave”, said Gaara as he turned his back and left the Leaf ninjas.
Tamari then escorted the guests to their rooms. None of the ninjas could sleep that night due to what was going to happen tomorrow. Jiriaya sat back and drank sake all night long, Kakashi and Yamato laid down to rest so they could be rested for the next day.
It was predawn and Sakura was up early eager to get the day started so she could see Naruto again. Jiriaya was passed out drunk, but stirred when Shizune woke him up. Yamato and Kakashi were on the roof watching the sun rise. Temari was the first to approach the guest quarters. When Temari approached the door it opened before she had a chance to touch the door.
“Well I am going to assume that all of you are up. Then I guess I don’t need to wake you up. If everyone is ready Gaara is waiting for you at the office for breakfast. This way if you please”, said Temari gesturing toward the office.
They arrived at the office and a table filled with an assortment of food in a lovely spread. At the head of the table was Gaara awaiting his guests, he then gestured for them to sit down. “How is everyone doing this morning please have something to eat”.
“Excuse me Kazekage-sama how have you been since Shukaku had been taken out of you”, said Sakura.
“Ever since Shukaku had been removed I was able to get some much needed sleep. I slept for nearly a week and both Temari and Kankuro were nervous that I would never wake up, but now I am able to get rest and sleep.”
“Yeah but since then his attitude has changed a lot to and now he is engaged to one of the sand village kunoichi”, said Temari.
“That is enough Temari, I think you said more than you should”, demanded Gaara.
The shinobi’s ate for nearly an hour before they decided to take off after the nine tails.
Later at the southern gate of the hidden sand village Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro were waiting for the leaf village shinobi. “Well it seems that every one is here now we can leave”, said Gaara and they all followed him not knowing where he is going.
Along the trip Sakura asked, “Gaara why did you decide to come with us, isn’t your place in the village as the role of Kazekage and your fiancé”.
“Yes it is true that I need to be at the village but right now someone else needs me. Someone even dearer than my fiancé. Someone who has understands my sorrow and loneliness. He was the only person to ever defeat me in true combat, but I still feel that I still owe him one that is the reason I am going. Besides I am the only one who knows where the Kyuubi is.”
“You see Sakura”, said Temari “every night Gaara leaves the village to be on his own, I have heard that he goes to see Kyuubi every no and then in order to reflect that he once held a demon like that inside of him. The fact that Gaara leaves the village without notice leaves all of the ninja of the village in a state of disarray. He even takes a beating from his fiancé when he doesn’t tell her that he is heading out”.
“So when is Gaara supposed to get married”.
“I decided to that if we were able to get Naruto back then we would finally get married. Originally we were going to be married a year ago, but when I heard about Naruto transforming into the Kyuubi I made it a point to try and save him. We decided to that it would be best that if we can get Naruto back in one way shape or form we would finally get married. It was my original intentions to have Naruto attend my wedding as my best man. Now that we are going to be able to rescue him we will have our wedding as soon we return with him”, said Gaara.
